While looking for the ink a man on the floor just walked over and started answering all my questions without even bothering asking me questions about the printer or my situation. Called ahead to ask if we can have photos printed, guy said sure thing. We show up 2 min later and stand at the print area for over 10 min without being acknowledged. We walk up to the registers and asked for help and the kid working was rude and irritated we wanted help, she said "we don't print photos here and even if we did the guy is on break so". Be weary of in-store pickup as a Business Advantage customer. On several occasions I show up to pick up my purchased items and the items are still not picked out yet and ready to go. I typically show up 2+ hours later because the 1 hour pickup service is never ready! It's definitely not convenient having to wait an extra 30-mins for the employees to run around the store gathering your items. I purchase online for a reason for quick and efficient service but unfortunately this location continues to miss the mark. Do better! read more

One of the few office supplies to still be in business and I am honestly suprised how long this Staple has been able to stay around while many have closed. Its great to have this store around but when the prices are way too steep for even the common items you can find at Wal-Mart, it makes it that much difficult for me to even want to spend a penny here. The store is clean and organized, but their is really no great deals or anything that makes me think of coming to this store for something. As much as I want to like this place, its a store that will be phasing out very soon and once their liquidation sale sign comes up is when ill be back to help support the closing. Very interesting store. Not very friendly or helpful but they do have staff that are there and provide a service. Just don't expect them to smile and try to communicate with you or for that fact acknowledge you. I was able to make a purchase with just basic cave man communication. I use staples same day printing service regularly for my small business. The printing staff at staples in Oceanside is amazing, friendly and my orders are always done beautifully and on time. Summer specifically is always so helpful. I'll always use this location for my printing because for as often as I use them I've never been unsatisfied with any of my purchases. read more

HOLLY is an amazing employee. She was able to help me with my printer problem over the phone today and she was kind and patient and even laughed at my jokes. She wasn't in a hurry even though she was helping actually in-person customers at the same time. I wish I owned a business because I would hire Holly in a heartbeat. I had additional problems with a computer that HP ruined by accessing my computer remotely and she actually gave me some great suggestions that other tech people didn't possibly try. Terrible customer service 30 cents to use the computer which doesn't recognize hard drives so you have to log into and email yourself documents. Printers malfunction and cost a dollar a page for printing. Waited over twenty minutes for a refund because the girl couldn't figure out how to process and check out the lady before me. I needed some receipt tape for a telecheck machine and I thought there was a Staples or Office Depot on Mission and the 5. Well I was wrong so I ended up going to this Staples and Karina who works there was training a new employee so I asked Karina. She got on her radio and then told me to head to aisle 17. This is a pretty huge building and they had just about anything you could need for your office. Well a employee showed me where the tape was but they didn't have what I needed. went foraging at STAPLES with a short shopping list for my business: pens -- the bored employee response was that STAPLES only stocked the ones i wanted in extra-fine line (not the fine line i was looking for). legal pads -- the bored employee response was that STAPLES did not stock them in fine-lined. legal sized, colored file folders -- the bored employee response was that STAPLES did not stock legal folders in a color other than buff. staples -- the bored employee response was that STAPLES was temporarily out of stock on staples. i have a SWINGLINE, the desk model standard, and STAPLES was out of staples !!!!! a calculator -- actually found (be still my foolish heart) what i was looking for under a huge sign that said all calculators 30% off. dragged my otherwise disappointed butt up to the register and was charged full price. too bewildered and confused to mount the furious response the situation truly demanded, i asked for a manager. after waiting a surprisingly long time (i'm guessing she was too busy texting her BFF to bother with customer service), she arrived to explain that the calculator i'd picked out was not on sale. i marched her over to the sign that said ALL calculators on sale. she firmly responded in a tone both dismissive and condescending that all calculators were on sale except the one i'd picked out. in stunned disbelief i simply left. ten minutes later i finished my order on the phone with another office supply place (one locally owned and operated) that had everything i was looking for and that delivered everything to my office the next day with no delivery charge. i remember when TV ads for STAPLES ended with the catch phrase "yeah, we've got that." the ad genius that thought that up should be taken out and shot. read more

I utilize this staples for a lot of my shipping needs and am very patient when they're busy. I needed tape and to scan my shipping labels (2 min job), and I sat at the shipping desk for 15 minutes for not even one employee to come ask if I need assistance. I actually left and got no assistance. There were literally more employees than customers within the store. Guy that works with the gray staples shirt was just jibberjabbering with a customer who was there for pickup. While I sat 5 ft away with my shipping labels on my items ready to go. Please fix your staff. The older gentleman was the only good employee I saw. read more

Gotta say, Alvin and the team were just great yesterday! I needed to get two large whiteboards for work and I needed one that was pretty big. They had it in stock, brought to the front of the store and kept it overnight for my facilities folks to pick it up (it wouldn't fit in the back of my vehicle). Staples wanted $169 to run only diagnostics my computer. I went around the corner to PC Repair Center and they ran the diagnostics and cleaned the same computer for $49. It did not require any repair so I would have been spending and extra $120 for nothing. There was no other option with Staples but to spend $169 and this would go toward any repair. If there is no repair needed it is still this $169. While this may work out for some it was not the best option for my situation. While I will still go to staples when I am out of paper...I will not go back for computer repairs! read more

This is the closets Staples to my job and house so I come here pretty often. Service is okay no one ever greets me or ask if I need help finding anything. A lot of their selection is small and items can be far and few in between. The ladies at the printing service are nice when I have to create posters for work they do an awesome job with sizing and pricing choices. The other day when I came in here I was told to come over to the side counter to check out and then the lady abandoned me for like 6 minutes while other people behind me moved forward to check out! I bought these awesome earbuds that the Staples guy told me were awesome and don't ever tangle. THEY DON'T! I love were them but the little volume part fell off. :( BUT! I want to apologize to Staples for being a dummy and picking out the wrong ink for my printer. I brought home, opened it up, tried to put it in the printer and realized that I had gotten the wrong ink. (I had relied on memory to pick the ink, thinking I had an HP Photosmart 5110 but I had a 5510.) So that being said, I called and asked if I would be able to exchange the cartridge I had just purchased with the correct one even though I had opened it. They said yes and the guy on the phone also gave me a useful tip that made me feel even more stupid. (which I deserved). He told me to bring in the expended cartridges so you don't have to remember anything and just replace what you have in your hand.... Duh. Long story short, rode back, and within 3 minutes I was out of the door with the right stuff, and the difference in price being refunded to my card, sweet. The girl at the cash register was nice, and when I told her I was pretty embarrassed for buying the wrong one, she said it "I've done the same thing before." Good service, making my experience a positive one. Also, they had the cartridges I needed, and Best Buy didn't. The reviews on Amazon for cartridges portray sketchy businesses selling "startup cartridges" that just print a few pages, so that's why I decided to hit up a brick and mortar for this recent purchase. read more

I needed and ordered a banner sign. I had a Word file created and e-mailed the file to the Printing and Copy Center. After speaking to one of the staff in the copy center and being told that it would be a simple job, I waited to hear back from the store. I received a call later saying that at the banner size I ordered that the finished product would be pixely. Okay. The sign was just black lettering with a black border edge. NO color on it. I called back and spoke to a different person because the original person helping me was on break. This person tells me that I need to increase the size of the file to the finished size that I needed. WHAT? When following up again with a DIFFERENT person, they offered to use another template design that they had. This was after the original person I spoke to said that they would check because they didn't want to give me the wrong information. We made a decision and I went to view a proof of the job this morning, or so I thougjht. When I arrived there was no proof. I waited to see one as the person on duty looked around unable to find it so he offered to print a proof. Well the machine wasn't turned on so I had to wait and after while he said that it isn't printing out, so we decided to leave and he would call us when the job was done. This was a frustrating experience on what should have been quite simple job. Also, there was no continuity or similar experience, it seemed, among the print staff. read more

The people working at this location are incredibly rude. Not only do they have no clue where anything is (I hunted down multiple people, a feat in itself) they have a real attitude problem. I finally found the portfolio I was looking for, all the way in the back of the store. The snappy attitude from the girl at the check out really put me over the edge. She snatched things out of hand and had a really inappropriate demeanor. She huffed at me a few times... I guess it's hard being in a customer service job, but there's no need to be rude to friendly customers. You are just giving the Staples franchise a bad name. Not happy today, at least. Bought business card holder sheets. It's supposed to be 10 slots, but there are only 9. Picture shows the cards horizontal and fitting well; but they're vertical and have a lot of space. Bought heavy duty printable business card sheets, two were offered, one said ivory, I wanted white, so I chose the other; these were ivory too, not white; it doesn't say that on them at all. The refill that they make, ARC is pretty affordable in comparison and I love that series they have. The service is MEH.... not much to say. I am always able to find what I'm looking for, and even some unexpected items such as air purifiers for my business. I have used their print center a few times as well, and everything has looked good, and their team is helpful and friendly. Alvin the supervisor was extremely rude! One of the Staple stores had messed up by giving me a Hard Disk of Laptop instead of PC (which i had originally picked up for purchase) by agent/human error. Despite the inconvenience it was understandable to me and it happens to the best of us as employees. I was directed to Staples in Vista Way since for an exchange, as i couldn't drive back to the original store. However, despite them acknowledging Staples error, the supervisor refused to honor the price and was not helpful, on the contrary, he was rude. By far the worst customer service I've ever experienced at this location by Leila. This review would get NO stars if that were an option! No customers were in line and the line barrier equipment were open to have access to go directly to the counter to check out. I go directly up to the counter and the sales clerk Leila mentions, you have to go around. What? I didn't understand her reasoning for her comment. There is no line and the line barrier divider is open. You need to go around the barrier divider which leads to a sign I believe stating "wait here." You've got to be kidding me! I can understand if there was a line and I went before people who were waiting, that makes sense. NO ONE was in line waiting. Leila got the wrath of a very upset customer who did not understand why she said that. So unprofessional! Customer Service 101 needs to be repeated because she obviously failed that course! The store was a mess! I stopped here to finish up some of my back to school shopping. The shelves were all messy, little stock left, and when I asked an employee where to find a mobile computer desk, he so eloquently stated, "huh... I don't know.." and walked away. Also, this store limited sale-priced white board purchases to 2, and wouldn't budge. They had hundreds in stock (in 3 different locations in the store). My purchase of 24 was not clearing them out. I could buy more, but at $5 each rather than the $2 sale price. Most Staples stores will do a price override on limited quantities for teachers. They wouldn't do it. Screwing teachers in the pocketbook is just wrong! Overall, a messy store with employees lacking customer service skills. read more

Okay, so normally I LOVE Staples... Don't get me wrong, this store is not horrible, but it is one of the worst ones I have been to. The staff see you wandering around for an hour just looking at things (something I love to do) but still, they do not even ask if you need help! Then on top of that, everything is on the wrong shelf, or does not have a price next to it... I picked up a little card holder and when I got to the register is was $20! I used to go to Staples to get a print out in engineering paper 2' x 4' for less than 15 bucks. Now I went today to the a simple word print (just letters) and the lady told me that would cost me 53 plus dollars. I told her how it could be possible if I have done for less than that. It just a single sheet of paper with letters. She replied " that the only work they do for that price if only I had blueprints" what the heck!!! Probably the personnel wasn't well trained how to help the customer. read more

Horrible wait times at the copy service area. The stars are for the friendly employees and the quickness of my order being ready. Bummed there was only 1 person working for the 5 people that were in line asking questions, dropping things off, going to shop and then coming back and cutting because they were there before.
