I moved one damn couch and had no reason to keep it for days. They're claiming I had it for days bc their flawed system. After payment with my Apple Card! I cancelled that card with the quicks bc I could just tell something was weird. They changed my drop off for the truck at the last minute and told me to drop it off at Postal Annex. It was 10, are they open! So, I left it there with the keys with the other trucks that were their. If you go at night you will see many trucks and most probably have the keys inside. Open till 5:30!! Completely reasonable with it being Covid. I showed up at 5:25 just to drop off two packages, and the closer turned me away saying she was closed. She pointed at her annex hours and I showed her my iPhone that read ( 5:22 pm)and told her it wasn't even 5:30 PM and she exclaimed that she was going by the watch in her store. She was reasonably enough to take my packages but she immediately said "BYE have a nice evening". Didn't even give me a receipt. What watch do you think Customers are gonna go by? Actually had a really great experience at this PostalAnnex. Had a couple of errands on my list and about a half hour to kill, so I popped in to see if I could cross a couple of them off. Was totally not expecting it to be such an efficient visit, but it was! I got something notarized, bought a few envelopes and stamps, addressed and mailed them, and even picked up a little present for my nephew on my way out. Shannon I understand bad and busy days but the issue in your facility is a lack of proper training and care for your customers. First, the team member you were training was the only pleasant person I encountered walking in. The only one who greeted me and provided a pleasant vibe. Second, My issue was not that you couldn't provide a confirmation but how all I wanted after my awful experience was to stay a few extra seconds to see Letty sign and complete my fingerprints and how she laughed and proceeded in a defensive and unpleased manner. Some but not all people understand long lines, heavy appointment volumes and busy phones but there should not be any tolerance for treating people the way you treat your customers. If you believe customers have the responsibility for their experience at your facility and it's what lets you run your business then continue. But this was my experience and I come here on yelp to express the good and the bad. If Letty's work ethic is a reflection of what you express within the workplace than I truly hope your employees find a better manager figure. The owner is clueless and has a hard time understanding English apparently. I had something to deliver to a box at the location and asked her how Best to address it, just the address and if it was box or unit (the person put apt) Somehow she thinks giving out the shop information (which is on yelp for all to see) could be a scam.. somehow her twisted mind believes that giving out information that has nothing to do with any customer (the name or box wasn't mentioned or asked for or provided) is a privacy issue, She kept saying she can't give out information even if it's not about a customer, so don't call and ask a price or if they copy or mail or any "information" because she thinks all information cannot be given out to strangers, she then hung up on me. Apparently her goal to be so private that nothing can get thru to your box (or apartment which is what I will have to send this to). I first went here a couple months ago to drop off a package and the girl behind the counter helping me was so nice. I knew the next time I had something to send I'd go back. So I went back yesterday to send a package across the US and Leticia was extremely helpful. I'm pretty sure that Postal Annexes are independently owned, and I have to say that the owner here is one of the sweetest I've encountered. They are always so helpful with whatever I need; finding the best shipping option, packaging an oddly shaped item, etc. Great customer service here; something that seems to be fleeting these days. Albeit it is sometimes a little bit more expensive than going directly to the PO or other shipping place directly, but I like being able to get my options across the board, and then decide. Abjectly racist. Absurdly unprofessional. I went twice. I am physically challenged, and I don't live far, but paraneurological limitations... such as life. I came, a newbie to international mailing, and I explained as such. I think they're a mother-daughter business. The *daughter* repeatedly spoke over me; without knowing my full thoughts, but rude not to let a person - - let alone a customer - - speak. She was condescending and obnoxious. She also did not know any more than I did. She called her elderly *mother* over, I'll-explaining my need. A simple and very small package to my family in Nigeria. So the *mother* tells me misinformation. She rolled her eyes as I explained how off her daughter was. I do not think we is communicated; as, though her accent was thick, so we're my immigrant parents who spoke fluent English as her. The younger overfed me with so much information that it was closing time, and I decided to go home and call DHL. DHL gave me such a simpler explanation, including a much younger quote (by $200.00) than when I went. So I went back with the confidence of knowing what I believed what would be cut and dry. Again, the younger behaved rudely, more so this time (I guess because I returned?!), and I called DHL as soon as she began. Both times she demanded a postal code that Nigeria does not have. The DHL employee heard her (1) speak over me and was (2) absolutely disrespectful without warrant. The DHL employee repeatedly perplexed and irritated by her non-existent demand. At that point the *daughter* decided to speak over the DHL employee, and she continued her rudeness. She also cursed me out and she told me to leave her store. I had already rose, left my red chair and I was halfway out when her *mother* came directly before me to tell me how rude I was and she cursed me out?! LOL, it was crazy!! The DHL employee (Caucasian woman) was angrier than I; as, I'm used to various forms of racism. Before I had a chance to speak she immediately apologized on behalf of DJL, explaining that "...that is not how (they) conduct) business". She also initiated a report on her own. When I gave them their address, it could not be found!! They are NOT registered with DHL, WOW. Admittedly, I went back to them, just opening the door to inform them of the above, and that they were in trouble. The younger stated that "She's so scared", making a shivering motion, lol. #Karma Yesterday I made it to an excellent Carlsbad location (El Camino Real that was suggested by the same DHL CSR), who gave me no hassles and the employee was just a dream!!! I am hoping to file a report, for no one should be treated so hostility, based on the fragile ego/insecurities/racism, etc. that has nothing to do with the customer. I have been a customer with this location since 08/2012. John, the previous owner sold this business to Saed in late 2016. I began to have delay in my mail being delivered. I would receive email confirmations stating my order was shipped, but they would tell me my package had not arrived. I was sent a package from a friend that was showing delivered on 01/23/17. I asked Postal Annex daily from that day up until 02/02/17, when I began to question this order. I was told they are not responsible if my package does not arrive from the Post Office. I was told I needed to call the actual Post Office. The local post office did a review and let me know the package was delivered to the Oceanside Postal Annex. They sent me a picture of the package. I had to schedule to meet with the owner because was rarely in the office when I went by. When I met with him, he became defense and said I would have to prove my package was delivered to that Postal Annex because the tracking number and copy of the package was not enough. He was rude and self righteous. One of their employees, Emma called me later that week to let me know she found another one of my packages in the outgoing bin when it was really incoming. She explained they did not have courier experience and have been making these kinds of mistakes with a lot of customers. I asked if she took a picture of the package in the wrong spot? She said she did not and the owner then got on the phone to begin yelling at me. He said he did everything he could to help me, what else more did I want from him?! I explained I wanted my package and I wanted a refund for the box I paid one year for because I no longer wanted to do business with him. I shared I expect to receive mail sent to me and he did not fulfill his agreement. The value of the package was $40 plus the order needing to be replaced. The amount for the box for 12 months is $120. This occurred 4 months into the 12 months, so I felt he should refund me the difference plus the amount for the package I never received. He said he was not refunding me anything. I called the corporate Postal Annex and spoke to Kellie on 03/10/17. She told me she research this and get back to me in the next 2-3 business days. Today, 03/27/17, I called because I had not heard back from anyone. She apologized for not getting in touch with me and informed me Saed said this event never occurred and he would think about refunding me. I strongly urge to not give this location any business. I went down the street to the local post office and rented a new box for $90. Apparently, fees are also being increased to $190 per year. I hope you find this review helpful and do not give this man one single dollar of your hard earned money. read more

This was my go-to spot for shipping. I used to get timely service but now it is extremely slow to get in and out. I came to drop off a return package for amazon and needed a receipt. There was only one person in front of me and it was 20 minutes before I was helped. The customer in front of me was visibly frustrated that it was taking so long. Finally the lady gets to me and she could not figure out how to print a receipt! The man was now helping someone new and I would have to wait for him to do it. I gave up and left in defeat about 30 min after I entered. They're nice people but they take there sweet a$$ time doing anything. They are winging it running the place and it shows. Unethical and unreliable! I know that UPS stores don't process Priority Mail Flat Rate packages so when I walked in here, the first question I asked was whether Postal Annex does. The lady at the counter told me that USPS got rid of Flat Rate Priority Mail Boxes in January. I was surprised since I have received some, so I was skeptical. She said she was absolutely sure. I expressed disappointment that I would have to buy packaging and insurance, but I started looking at their packaging, and she steered me towards a box that would fit. I tried to research on my phone (which had low battery) and found that USPS had discontinued Priority *Express* Flat Rate packages. I went back to her and told her what I found. She insisted I was wrong. So I believed her and went ahead and bought packaging and asked her to look up my mailing options. She quotes me $20 for UPS or FedEx with insurance and tracking or $7 for regular mail (no insurance, no tracking). I couldn't justify $20 for what would fit in a Small Priority Mail Flat Rate box for $7, so I opted for regular mail. I felt uneasy with my package being uninsured and untraceable but went home. I got home, and my letter carrier was there. She told me that USPS did NOT get rid of Priority Mail Flat Rate Packages. I called my local post office to verify. Priority Mail Flat Rate Packages are NOT discontinued. Then I tried calling Postal Annex so I could stop the package from going out uninsured and untraceable, just to ask them to hold it so I could go back and get it and get refunded. I called 10x on my drive back to Postal Annex. No answer, just voicemail. I didn't understand because there were no customers in there when I was there 30 minutes earlier. I kept trying in case they were busy. I got there, and there were now two people working. Neither answering the phone. No customers in the store. They said the mailman had picked up my package. I didn't want to start an argument, but she asked me why I needed it back, and I told her that I would rather pay the same amount and send it Priority Mail Flat Rate box which includes insurance and tracking. She started to insist again that service was discontinued. I told her that my letter carrier disagreed and that I called and USPS verified that she was not correct. She told me all I could do was drive to the local post office and ask them to intercept the package. I did and waited and hour and a half for the package to arrive at the local PO to intercept it and change it to a Priority Mail Flat Rate box with insurance and tracking. Postal Annex had very basic information about mailing services incorrect and put me in a position to a) buy packaging from them (Priority Mail packaging is free at the post office) b) overpay for shipping from them ($7 same price for regular mail as Priority Mail flat rate small box?!) and c) don't answer their phone to tend to customers and d) kept the money they charged me while passing the buck off to the post office to fix the problem (without refunding me). They make money off of misinforming the customer, and they don't even bother to pick up their phone even when they have no customers in the store. Shady, shady. If they aren't shady, they are at least incompetent. Take your business elsewhere. FWIW the people at the nearest PO were incredibly helpful trying to track down one package during busy hours and help me. Postal Annex is terrible and untrustworthy. read more

A few days ago, I went in with my husband and stepdaughter to have paperwork notarized. My husband only had a Veterans Affairs I.D. - he'd lost his driver's license - and although it was a photo i.d., the notary at this Postal Annex said that it was not a valid i.d. because it was not on her list, and because it did not have a number on it. It did have a barcode on it, but she said that that barcode was not compatible with their system so she could not use it to scan and get the numbers. My stepdaughter had her previously notarized Power of Attorney (for my husband) with her but this notary seemed ignorant of what a Power of Attorney is and was unable to understand the information on the form that was very specific about the authorization to do what we needed to do - a real estate transfer of a time share. She started adding (making up) exceptions to what was on the actual Power of Attorney. We even had a recently drawn-up will (drawn up by a local attorney) in the car as further proof that we were who we said we were. She seemed to be working very hard to find some reason not to provide the notarization services. I can understand for a notary to be careful and risk averse, but she took 20 minutes or more to decide that she could not help us, wasting our valuable time. That is just plain incompetent . We went across the street to a different business where we found a notary who knew what he was doing, checked and rechecked all of our documentation and i.d.'s, as well as the Power of Attorney authorizing my stepdaughter to act for my husband (who was there, in any case), even informing us of the need to be sure that there were no blank sections in the forms and how to resolve that, which we did. We were relieved to find someone competent to notarize for our documents after wasting time at the Postal Annex. The cost to us to have this done correctly and efficiently was $80. I would avoid taking anything to this Postal Annex for notarizing unless it is the most basic of single page forms. There may be other notaries there, but the person we got really fell short. I've given this a rating of 1 star, only because a rating of no stars is not an option. Our experience was a real disappointment. read more

Came here for the notary service. I called ahead because were were going to get there right at closing, and the notary said she would wait for us and she did. Very pleasant to talk to. She wasn't in a big hurry...which made us slow our roll and we enjoyed our conversation with her. We would definitely recommend this place for notary services.
