Did the economy make a full recovery and no one told me?! Some of the staff in this particular Staples store acts as if they don't need customers and/or they just take their customers for granted. I recently went into this Staples, for the first time, simply because I needed one envelope to deliver some important documents. The first employee I asked about an envelope informed me that she's not sure if they have individual envelopes and referred me to another employee. The second employee wasn't sure either. At this point, I started to wonder about the minimum qualifications to work at Staples, because I wasn't asking these employees a difficult question. To expedite service, I requested to speak to a manager. Now, when Raymond, the manager, finally arrived he didn't appear friendly. He informed me that I'll have to buy a box of envelopes in order to get "the one envelope" that I needed. As Raymond was talking to me, another customer inquired about his print job, which Raymond was holding, and Raymond had the audacity to turn to this man and tell him, "I'm not finished so you'll have to wait a few more minutes". To make a long story short, I left and went to a neighboring bank to get an envelope, which they gave me for "free". I'm not sure what's going on with some of the staff in this Staples, but they, particularly the manager, need to vastly improve how they interact with their customers. Price doesn't matter when you have outstanding customer service. I walked in to buy a printer and was greeted by Sako I believe the store manager. The welcome and his assistance was so amazing I told my wife I want to buy whatever we need office desk, chair etc all from here. We were going to go shopping for office furniture this weekend but ended up buying everything we need from Sako and Allen. The service was 10 star and I will always recommend all my friends and family to shop at this staples store. We walked in about 8:45 pm and walked out with a office desk, chair, cabinet and a laser printer. We walked in to buy a $100 - $200 printer and ended up spending $1500 plus all because the way we were greeted and assisted. You don't get that quality service and welcome these days. How do I review a Staples. Let's see.... You are a giant chain store. You carry items that I usually only need at the last minute. You see. If I had time I would order my items at Amazon.com. Why? This review is specifically for the copy center. I have been getting my print jobs done here for years. Everyone is very courteous and willing to help me with my questions. Two employees specifically stand out for me: Betty and Mesrop. Betty is so knowledgeable and very quick to problem solve. She helped me with the print job for my wedding program and it came out perfect! Mesrop is such a pleasure to work with. He is so kind and positive! The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because of the very polite guy working at their printing department, I believe his name is Mesrop. But he answered all my questions promptly and politely, unlike their horrible manager, Sarkis! This place needs new management because Sarkis does NOT know how to talk to his customers or employees... He treated his employees like they're dumb and was rushing them through every transaction... Sarkis really needs to realize that his horrible attitude towards the employees is rubbing on all the customers waiting in line as well ... The printing services they provide are not reliable. Drove 15 min to get there, waited in line and was told they're too busy to print and it can be scheduled for another day. I've purchased several office supplies at Staples ranging from study materials, electronics, and office furniture. Staples' website has a much larger selection of merchandise available, but when I shop online... I tend to choose Amazon. When it comes down to convenience, I go to Staples. Their study materials such as pens, notebooks, and flashcards are priced fairly competitively. However, I purchased a USB hub for $21 and found hubs much more suitable to my needs at Amazon at a more reasonable price. The same was true for my 1TB Seagate external hard-drive. That is not to say that their was a problem with the products itself, just the selection of products available per store. All things considered, when you need convenient office supplies such as notebooks, flashcards, paper, pens, even ink, then choose Staples. Otherwise, for major purchases such as office furniture and electronics, then choose a different vendor. Staples really falls short in that area in selection (possibly in terms of price as well). Knowing what I do now, I definitely would've reconsidered a few purchasing decisions. Side Note: I must admit though, the customer service is fantastic. I aided my employer in purchasing a Toshiba Laptop at the Glendale location. The Laptop was not sold anywhere and I was very keen on purchasing a specific model that only Staples had available. The customer service there reserved the computer for us until we got to a different Staples (forgot the location). The employees there were definitely willing to go out of their way to help me out. Came in here with a colleague to grab some office supplies on a Tuesday afternoon around 12. The place was mellow and slow with only a handful of other customers as you can guess. We went to the back of the store where the bins are placed on shelves. We started getting the bins that we needed, but could not reach the last couple of them so I went off to get some help. There were no associates throughout the store so I went all the way to the front of the store. That's still understandable -- not a busy time and just need people at the registers. Okay. I went over to the printing/scanning area as I did not want to bother the workers at the registers. There were a group of three women associates standing around talking. I asked one of them if they could send some one over to help us get the bins down, explaining we did not want to do it ourselves and risk ruining the display or hurting ourselves. She half-heartedly said she'll send someone over and walked off to talk with her colleagues again. I continued to stand there, thinking she will send one of the girls any minute. She did not. Then one of the other women looked at me, the annoyance very evident on her face, and repeated that they will send someone over soon. I thanked them and went back to my colleague. We waited and waited. We even tried to flag down an associate who was passing by to no avail. In the end, we just did it ourselves even though it was dangerous and knocked down a few other things. I understand that it's a slow day/time, however that is even more of a reason to help out a customer that asks for assistance. Sad and unprofessional. read more

The manager, Sargis, and his associate Tomik, showed exceptional knowledge about their products and helped me save a ton of money on my purchase by keeping me informed of their services and rewards programs. I lost my tracking number for an item I mailed through UPS a couple weeks prior. The company claimed they didn't receive my item and I could have lost a lot of money. However, when I called Stapes, Alma went out of her way to find the tracking number. She even kept apologizing for putting me on hold. She was so nice and helped calm me down. I came into Staples and bought supplies. A lady told me about iphone repairs and just so happens my screen was cracked on my Iphone 6 Plus. I dropped of the phone to Easy repair. Came back later and picked up my phone but there was some technical difficulties with the repairs and long story short Boris the technician was a cool person and I asked the manager Jose for help and he jumped right in and got it handled. Jose, Boris and pretty the entire staff was cool as heck. Great service. I am in the service industry and Ben (another employee) services his car at my Dealership so I understood and appreciated the excellent service. Wow! I have had an amazing experience here for years. Perhaps the previous manager I believe he was of an Armenian background (I'm not Armenian, but got awesome friends who are) was extremely courteous and accommodating. Excellent bedside manner. However, this awful heavy set man possibly of Latin decent named LUIS (not that it matters, I mentioned it for identifying purposes) spotted me at the closing time walking towards the back of the store where these plastic storage containers were just so I could quickly take a peak how much they charge for the plastic bins. Then Luis (this rude, loud and anxious man who wants to obviously rush out and probably is unhappy with his job, was not leaving me alone and said "MAM, MAM! We are CLOSED! Our cashier registers are closed!" Uhhhh...he couldn't ask me first and offered assistance why I was going to the back of the store?! Who raised this man?! And mind you, there were others farther in the back who were still shopping! If you are looking into going into this store and it is nearing the closing time, be aware that you will be dealt with a man named Luis who will be RUDE to you and rush you out of the store! He knew I was upset and didn't even have the decency to apologize & be a gentleman and acknowledge that he offended me! He pretended to not hear why I was calling him rude. Basically did the narcissistic act and ignored my concern. There are a few people who make the experience top-notch and that includes manager Sarkis, cashier Patty and Print & Copy Supervisor Jose.
