The actual weight of your shipment can become almost irrelevant if the box is larger, because Meest applies dimensional weight and effectively charges you for empty space. In other words, you can pack lightweight or fragile items into a larger box for protection and then be financially punished for the air surrounding them. That is exactly what happened to me. My package (from USA to Netherlands) weighed only about 11lb and contained fragile, lightweight items. Because I used a 16 × 16-inch box, Meest charged me approximately $50 extra based on the box dimensions. The final cost was an outrageous $203. USPS would have charged approximately $126 for the same shipment. So I paid nearly $80 more, largely because Meest decided that the empty space inside my box should apparently travel at first-class rates. And the pricing was not even the worst part. The customer service experience was disgraceful. An agent named Sabina communicated with me in an arrogant, condescending, and completely unprofessional manner. Instead of explaining the charges respectfully and helping a paying customer, her attitude made the entire experience even worse. A company that charges premium prices while treating customers with contempt does not deserve loyalty, trust, or repeat business. I learned my lesson, and it cost me $203. After many calls they agreed that I paid the delievery fee but still holding it in the office for several more days and no definite answer from Yerevan office to advise of delievery date. I sent the box on July 2nd and the receiver had to go by herself to Yerevan to pick up the box on July 25th . None of the offices accept their mistake and never refund the delievery fee.
