Very frustrating experience. They don't scan your packages when you drop them off because, apparently, they're "too busy"--yet when I went inside, there wasn't even a single customer in the post office. The former postmaster has a terrible attitude and was completely dismissive when I brought up the issue. Her response was essentially, "Oh well, if we didn't scan it, that's your fault." Seriously? If I hand my package over to the post office, scanning it should be part of their job. Instead of taking responsibility or trying to help, I was blamed for their failure to properly process the package. Extremely unprofessional and unacceptable customer service. If you're dropping off an important package, make sure you get proof that it was actually scanned because they clearly don't seem to care. read more

12/09/2022: This is my local post office. It is very small, not open extended hours and often there is a line. That being said, the staff have their job description down and really do perform a step or two above that. They are very efficient, patient and helpful . I've never had to wait long to be assisted. Street parking is relatively easy to find as well as the large surface lot for the Montrose Shopping Park. You may have to walk a bit further, but it's good exercise. If your schedule can accommodate a 9 AM to 5 PM Mon-Fri post office, this is the place for you. If not, the La Canada-Flintridge post office is about a 10 minute drive east, and they are open Saturdays. read more

The Post Office website indicated that it closed at 5:30 and when we rushed to get there the woman (Aracely) said that it closed at 5:00. Aracely was very rude and told us to go to the La Canada post office which ended up being closed! read more

Tom's the goal for PO service. We live in La Canada and avoid the LC PO and travel further to Montrose. The culture at La Canada PO is stagnant, whereas Montrose PO persons are helpful and seem happy to interact with you and give you confidence in their service. read more

I would like this post office more if they had more pick-up hours for the mail. Because of this, I still prefer the La Canada Post Office. Not only that, you can't buy stamps unless you go and stand in line! Very inconvenient especially if you go after hours. read more

Hey folks, the employees are happy and helpful and use their English to communicate effectively with customers because it is not their second language. So WTF is not to like? Parking off the street and on the street without meters. It is small and the lines go fast. You can mail letters from your car by driving around the back of the building or along Florencita. Place was extremely quite and hardly any customers. In and out was a breeze. Dropped off two returns and the counter man was very helpful and had me along my way in no time. Parking lot is small and slanted. But if its packed there is street parking as well. There is a AAA next door that maybe you can use to park if you're in and out quick. read more

This post office is one of my favorites in town. I live in La Crescenta and work in La Canada. Which both cities have their own offices but I prefer the Montrose location. The staff is always helpful and seriously almost the same staff for over 15 years! I just love how I go in there, get what I need done and out. Every time I go to the other two locations, I am stuck in lines well over 15 minutes. Sometimes yes, there will be a line but only because of the time of year. If you need a P.O. I personally like this one because there is decent parking whenever I go there. The employees are cool. No, there aren't many pens but the helpful employees will let you borrow one. Just be cool and give it back!! They have a machine that you can buy all kinds of stamps that is easy to use. You can show up after they close and still be able to send your stuff in 2 days. US Post Office - Post Offices Near Me - Montrose, California

I highly, highly recommend that you stay at the counter until you see them put the postage label on your package. And save your receipts!! Trust me, it will save you a big headache and a lot of driving around later. Last Tuesday, I shipped a package to a friend in San Dimas (not far at all). I kept checking the tracking number (it was supposed to be delivered Wednesday). The USPS website kept saying that the package was delayed but will still be delivered. Fast forward to Saturday, I received a package pick up card in my mailbox. RETURN TO SENDER NO POSTAGE. The package was sent to the Verdugo office. Luckily, I had my receipt and was able to prove that I had in fact paid for postage. I picked up my package and had to drive back to the Montrose office so they can fix it. An inconvenience in every definition of the word. STEVE was the guy who originally helped me last week, and like I said, watch to make sure the postage is on the package before you walk away. TOM was very apologetic and helpful about the whole situation; while STEVE shrank back into his corner because he knew he had messed up. Good day to you sir!! Thanks for nothing!! read more

I've never had a problem with this post office and I use this a few times a month to mail off bills. Never had a problem with mail not reaching its destination, never had a problem with anyone on the inside (sure they may not have the warmest personalities, but come on). Best part about it is the drive to mailboxes as I call them. You just drive up, roll down the window, stick your arm out the window with mail and put in the hole. Wa-la. Mail sent. Only gripe is that the parking lot is seriously narrow as all hell. If you get those people that don't care to pull up to the parking curb then you may have difficulty getting through depending on how wide your vehicle is. To avoid this, just park on the street and put your mail in one of the blue mailboxes that are on the Florencita side of the post office. Problem solved :) read more

Tom is a real hero! I have been having such anxiety about mailing my wedding invitations because I used some vintage stamps. I brought 150+ wedding invitations in this morning and Tom hand cancelled all of them so that my invitations (which I worked so hard on!) wouldn't get fed through a machine and torn up. He was such a pleasure to work with, had a smile on the entire time and even took the time to congratulate me and ask about my upcoming wedding. Thank you Tom! Nothing to brag about here at this post office. All I can say is its 10 times better than the post office on Chevy Chase in Glendale but 5 times worst than the one in Tujunga. The service here for some reason is really slow. Thankfully, theres a huge parking lot so no matter how packed it gets at the post office, you'll never have to worry about finding parking. read more

I am not a fan of the post office usually, they are crowded, staffed with old cranky people and have lines that move at a snails pace. But this one is amazing! The staff are cute and super funny and helpful! The line moves quick and every time I am in hear I hear someone tell the staff how much better this post office is compared to the others they have been to. I think I just discovered the best USPS store out there!!! Anytime I've visited a USPS store I've been met with the angriest looking faces and employees who look like they are fed up with life. I came here during my lunch break and was scared I'd be stuck in line for a minimum of 30 min, but I was wrong. I was in line for no longer than a minute until Tom helped me. He was great! I was a customer there for 16 years and I miss it and chatting and joking with the guys. Parking is limited, but there's free parking lots across the street a little bit. The street is normally not busy so it's possible to turn in and out of the driveway. read more

I shipped something overseas priority mail international w/guarantee delivery. I ensured it for a lot of money too. Right after I turned it in (like 10 seconds) I realized that I forgot to put the zip code. The postal service guy said it's not important as long as it's on the box. Well the box was delivered almost a week late. I can't get a refund because it states online that the zip code must be printed on the shipment form. read more
