Thanks to Adam Schiff, Glendale City Council, and the Glendale Historical Society for fighting to preserve this Italian Renaissance-styled landmark in 2013. It's beautiful and convenient enough for renewing our passports. The online reservation system works wonderfully, and I highly recommend it over dropping in. Even with a reservation, you may still wait for a while before having your number called. Tip: Bring a book and your patience so you don't get unhinged. People actually get cray-cray in line so again, pack your patience. We were fortunate enough to have the nice, petite Asian lady help us. She's always been wonderful. The other clerk is rough around the edges and true to the disgruntled postal worker stereotype. I know it wasn't just a bad day for her. Every time I've dealt with her in the past, she's been rude. So don't take it personally if she gets under your skin--it's just her way of customer service. There are three of us and we've renewed our passports several times at this particular location in the last 5 years. Was told I had to go to front counter. Why was I given a verification code? Enough about their shitty set up. I was fortunate to to be met by Chi, at her window. She straightened things out for me and helped me refill my form and attached my fotos for me, gave me the proper envelope and made a money order for my passport and Passportcard. She was a truly helpful and evenkeeleled person, have a feeling she dealt with this type of snafu before. What an efficient, patient friendly person, a shout out to her and who ever hired this good efficient person! Well worth the trip over there, than the filthy Eagle Rock location! Well worth the extra gas, a better value, minus the aggravation Eagle rock would have provided. By the way, the Asian lady in Eagle rock is friendly and efficient but the wait is usually long there and grounds are littered with fecal matter from street people and assorted broken bottles. Since my driver's license had my old address, I provided the only proof of address I had left from the paperwork that survived the fire. She refused to accept it. When I explained my situation, her response was, "I do not care!"--cold, unempathetic, and completely unacceptable. At a time when I was already dealing with unimaginable loss, her lack of compassion and professionalism made the situation even worse. All houses on our street have mailbox placed at the house front- original location. I built retaining wall and moved the box from the sidewalk to the house front - original location. Post office cancelled my mail services without any notice. They stated I moved box from original location but actually it was opposite. Later they gave me ultimatum If I want to continue mail services I have to move it to the same location where it was or where the wall is now. In other words remove the wall. Alternatively they suggested putting it behind retaining wall in sprinkled raised flower bed or on the wall (short) at the knees level - unrealistic and punitive! Although I still live there but I have no USPS service at my physical address now. And I sponsor their salary by paying taxes?! Today liars sent my "next day delivery" small package back to the sender. Explanation? "Package is returning to seller because customer moved" and "because the forwarding order for this address is no longer valid". I did not move out. I just refused to be manipulated or forced to do something that is good only for them. I refused to remove my wall or put mail box among the sprinkled plants or place it close to the ground in dwarfs friendly position. He then told me I should "conveniently" use the self-service machine next time. I explained that I feel more comfortable interacting with a live person, but he continued to be rude as we went back and forth. The interaction was extremely unprofessional and left me feeling very unwelcome. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if one of those " machines" he recommended replaced him.
