This USPS Glendale Office has uncover mail cops. This afternoon, it was a man dressed in black. No name tag or nothing. He could have been a lunatic that waltzed into the post office for all I/we know. It happens that way in California. I've heard stories. Now, I have one for you. Well, he went through the people standing in line with their packages waiting for postage and demanded to know why these people were in line and what's in their packages. That's really nosey rudeness. To me, he should be tidying the place or mopping the floors if he works there... And if there's nothing else for him to do. Anyways, I did self service incorrectly on my last visit. The postmaster told me to wait in the line and let a postperson do the postage sticker(s) for me. So, "undercover mail cop" was suspicious of me because I wrote "fragile" on my package. He made me tell him everything I was mailing... Like it was an investigation. Then, he looked at me like I was nuts. But the rest of the time he was observing my arms. Then, he vanished. Where's the trust? The postperson that ensured my package was completed correctly asked the same questions as "undercover mail cop". Except, he wore a uniform, was behind the counter, took payment, added postage and mailed packages. I'm writing this Yelp Review because I don't know how to deal with the audacity of this "undercover mail cop".

The friendliest and most helpful staff I've ever met at a US Post Office! Lots of free parking and tons of supplies in store!

This…read morelocal landmark is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is well-kept with a secret collection of postal items that are fun to look at while you're waiting in line to renew a passport. Thanks to Adam Schiff, Glendale City Council, and the Glendale Historical Society for fighting to preserve this Italian Renaissance-styled landmark in 2013. It's beautiful and convenient enough for renewing our passports. The online reservation system works wonderfully, and I highly recommend it over dropping in. Even with a reservation, you may still wait for a while before having your number called. Tip: Bring a book and your patience so you don't get unhinged. People actually get cray-cray in line so again, pack your patience. We were fortunate enough to have the nice, petite Asian lady help us. She's always been wonderful. The other clerk is rough around the edges and true to the disgruntled postal worker stereotype. I know it wasn't just a bad day for her. Every time I've dealt with her in the past, she's been rude. So don't take it personally if she gets under your skin--it's just her way of customer service. There are three of us and we've renewed our passports several times at this particular location in the last 5 years. Since we have history with this USPS location, I figured it's about time to share our experience candidly.

When it was my turn, I explained that I had just lost my home in the Eaton Canyon fires and was there to update my address. Since my driver's license had my old address, I provided the only proof of address I had left from the paperwork that survived the fire. She refused to accept it. When I explained my situation, her response was, "I do not care!"--cold, unempathetic, and completely unacceptable. At a time when I was already dealing with unimaginable loss, her lack of compassion and professionalism made the situation even worse. This was truly the worst customer service experience I've ever had. I hope management takes this seriously because no one should be treated this way, especially in such difficult circumstances.

My neighbor give me one of my mail, then next day, I find my magazine on top of mailbox & who knows where my package is even tho their system said they delivered it in my mailbox area. Never got it. I have complaint to supervisor, she said she will called me back for status of my package & still waiting, it's been 3 days. This is one of the worst post office ever. They should fired the temporary mailman cause again one of my mail is missing again. Everytime they have a temporary mailman who does the mail, they are careless & misplace my mail. I had 4 packages missing even tho the system said it's been delivered in my mailbox. I also got a empty box cause someone in post office took my stuff & tape it up. It's like nobody at post office takes responsibility & their attitude is oh well too bad. If I could rate them a zero I would. It used to be good before but nowadays they just hire anyone. They just got more money from government, raise their prices & their service sucks & getting worst. I got an email to do a survey on my case, can't do it cause the supervisor never call me regarding my missing package. I'm waiting one more day before I do the survey & it's not going to be good.

Extremely frustrating and disappointing experience at the Atwater Post Office…read more I went in simply to purchase a money order and needed to split the payment--$500 on my debit card and the remainder in cash. This should not have been an issue. However, the clerk told me I could not tap my debit card and that I needed the physical card. When I explained that I paid for a money order the exact same way last month at this same location, she dismissively said, "It's new." That makes absolutely no sense. If this is truly a "new" policy, it's clearly not being communicated consistently or professionally. It completely defeats the purpose of having a debit card stored securely on my phone if I'm suddenly not allowed to use it--especially when I wasn't attempting anything unsafe or unusual. I wasn't bypassing a PIN or doing anything improper. The lack of consistency, poor explanation, and unhelpful attitude made a simple transaction unnecessarily stressful. This post office seriously needs better training, clearer policies, and improved customer service. I left annoyed and disappointed over something that should have taken minutes.

When I turned to enter the main area to ship the item, an employee locked the door in front of me--despite having seen me enter before 5:00. When I knocked and said, "You saw me come in before 5," I was told, "You should have been in this room. We close at 5," after which the lights were turned off. I then watched other employees laugh, which was a particularly professional touch. I understand closing time policies. What I don't understand is being treated rudely when I was already inside the building and attempting to complete a transaction in good faith. After a long workday, this interaction felt dismissive and unnecessary. I'll be returning to speak with the manager, as basic courtesy shouldn't end the moment the clock hits 5:00.
