All it takes is one really bad experience with me and I'm done. I gave this joint two chances and they blew it both times. The first time I came in here was to exchange a Tom Tom GPS unit I'd received as a Christmas gift. The unit was broken and wouldn't even bring up North America as a suggestion. After several hours of fiddling with it, going online and having others mess with it it still only offered European countries as an option. Defeated, I packed everything back in the box and headed here to make the swap. Upon entering the store a tall gentleman with the words Manager on his badge asked if I needed any help. I explained to him what was going on with the GPS and said I needed to exchange it for a new one of the same model. He nodded at me and seemed like he was listening, then he turns to another employee and said "Hey, will you help her find a GPS unit that's a little more simple?". Um, excuuuuuse me? Did he just imply that I was too stupid to use this thing? That's an interesting approach to take with customers. Before I could tell this jerk off he spun around and started talking to another employee that had been waiting in the time we'd started talking. The clueless teenager who guided me to GPS land had no idea about what products he was trying to help me buy either. Super. Made the mistake of coming back when I decided to get a wireless keyboard and mouse. Ugh. Another teenager who didn't know anything about the products attempted to help me. I ended up just telling him I'd look on my own after the fiftieth "Uhhhhh..." came out of his mouth. I don't dole out 1-star reviews very frequently. But in the 2 times I've been here I've left unimpressed and even a bit frustrated. I won't even get into the elderly man working the register who took 15 minutes to ring me up for my mouse and keyboard. Yikes. Yep, I'm done with this joint. I'm more of an Office-Max kinda gal anyways. read more

I have been going to Staples locations all across California, but my first time at this location. The reason I chose this store was because I needed Dell-brand ink. Staples is the only office supply store that carries Dell-brand ink, than compared to other competitive stores such as OfficeMax or BestBuy. After inquiring information, I was quickly able to find my items. I have known Staples stores to be quick and efficient; however, checkout at this store was UNBELIEVABLY SLOW! They had an older, geriatric gentleman manning the first checkout line. I was the fourth person waiting in line. I tried checking out at the Printing Station since they also had a register. Unfortunately, they had told me to wait in the long checkout line which had already grown. I would extend my opinion to this location to hire another person to man the cash registers, have a more quick attendant at the cash registers, or allocate there employees effectively during their busy weekday hours. For consumers, I recommend this place for your last stop. OfficeMax is my go-to because of their cheaper prices and quicker checkouts. read more

Today was my daughter's final deadline for her finals.. She needed to print out her blue prints bscore heading back to school. She went to another printing shop and they were out of ink.. did I mention she was up all night doing her project and over slept. .. my baby girl was in such a panic cause she knew she was extremely late to drive to Sac State. I drove her because in state she was in I didn't want her to drive. We decided to go to Staples and explained to Jessica our situation and how desperate we were. Just want to give a Shout Out to the Supervisor "Elvis"and his Excellent Customer Service yesterday, Sunday August 6, 2017. I was in desperate need of a Printer, passed on Costco, passed on Best Buy and decided to go to Staples Fairfield, Ca and it was the Best Decision. The store was pretty busy with only a couple of other workers and "Elvis" managed to help all that was called upon him to do with Professionalism and Courtesy. He helped me tremendously and told me how to take advantage of the "Instant Ink" option and get a good warranty which I never do. His upsale ability was great because it wasn't pushy or forced... I just registered my printer on line and feel so accomplished and Thankful that I got him to help me.. He should get Employee of the Month and more !!! Surely an asset to "Staples" !!!!! read more

I travel for my job, and my mobile printer cable was lost. I didn't have time to order one, drive all over, or stand in line to print 500 pages. I had a unique project for the Staples printing staff, and had to come back to get the work corrected, but Jessica at the printing department made an excellent turnaround of recover comeback. I'll never step foot in this store again. I've never experienced such horrible customer service before, from the employees on the sales floor who are mute, to the cashiers who don't even say thank you. I've never been asked if I needed help even after standing in an isle for 8mins. The employees walk by you as if you're not even there. The one time I did buy something the cashier was re stocking the candy in the front so I asked which register I should go to and she rudely says "I said I'd be right there!!" And didn't even look up. Even if she did say she'd be right there before I asked, I did not hear her. She even continued for an extra minute or two before coming to check me out. I've gone in looking for something that I couldn't find and found not a soul to help me, as I am walking out empty handed there were 3 employees standing by the registers and not one of them acknowledged me. We spent 30 minutes trying to return two packages of printable tickets and the process was anything but EASY. Our receipt was lost and we walked in knowing that we would only get store credit, and were fine with that. I told the clerk that we didn't have the receipt and he said that we either needed to give him our Staples Reward program info or give him the credit card we used to pay for the transaction with in order to return the items. Mind you, this was a Staples brand product. He looked up our Reward product info, and then said he had to have the credit card as well. We had no idea how we paid for the product. I thought it was ridiculous that we should have to provide a credit card to return a Staples brand product to Staples, and he alluded that the item could have come from anywhere. Yeah right. He tried multiple cards of mine and my wife's and none of them worked. Meanwhile looking at the "Easy Return" policy printed on the counter there was nothing about having to have the credit card that the item was purchased with to return the item. What if we had bought the items with cash? What happens then? The manager got involved because the clerk only had limited computer access to complete these types of transactions. It seemed like we were going to be able to return the items and he asked for my driver's license and took 4 or 5 minutes entering almost every item on my license into the computer. He then realized that he needed my wife's license instead of mine because the Rewards program is under her name. After more waiting and trying to keep our 1 1/2 year old daughter occupied, he scanned the items and they came up at $19.99 each. There was one item we wanted to purchase from the store and suddenly the returns went from $19.99 each, to $5 each. Now we were getting ripped off. We called the manager over and she said since it was an item that they don't stock and we didn't have a receipt then that's what we get. My wife walked over and found the item in stock at $19.99. The manager then claimed that the transaction was too old and that's the return price. How do they know when we purchased it? We were furious, and the manager claimed that this was their policy, so we decided to take the items back and not purchase the other item from them. They told us that we can call the corporate number if we have a problem with how they dealt with this transaction. If I hadn't had a toddler who was losing her patience (much like her parents were) I would've insisted on talking to corporate over the phone right at the customer service counter with the clerk and manager within ear shot. This seems like a situation were the manager and employee could have used their discretion, but everything was dictated by how the computer operates, not how to make sure that you aren't turning off people from ever wanting to shop at any of your chain stores ever again. read more

This Staples looks like a new build but I don't I will come here anymore. It is so slow and for a new store they sure do not have a lot of merchandise that other Staples store have. First off the only have 6 Laptops on display and their prices are higher than other locations. Second, I asked if they had a laptops that are not on display and two Tech members no. I walk around and I find a sign that lists a laptop on clearance that is not on display and of course the price is higher than other stores. It would seem that the employess here need retraining in customer service. read more

Staples advertises a 100% price match guarantee but this Staples WILL NOT match prices, they have their own policy that will NOT match internet prices even though there are signs and advertising saying they will.....on top of that the customer service here is horrible and the management is rude. I will most likely never shop at staples again, at the very least never at this location that's for sure. They want all kinds of personal data when you check out, email, etc...when you refuse they claim they cannot complete transaction. Store is hot and cluttered. Overpriced. I have unfortunately used this location several times, and I have been treated horribly every time. This customer service at this store is non-existent, and if thats not bad enough they do a bad job on printing orders. My 1st order of business cards was printed on the back of another customers order, and they acted bothered when asked to correct it. My current order was supposed to be ready for pickup according th them by 5pm Thursday. I drove all the way there to find no order, and a rude employees horrible attitude! I was told they must not have done it, and if they did she doesnt know where they put it. A manager will call me in the morning. After no call I called back the next evening. The supervisor checked- order STILL not done. He would call me back. I asked for DM number, he doesnt know it. I asked for corporate number, he laid phone down and I could hear him talkingnignoring me completely. After 10 min wait I finally hung up. Never got that call back STILL!!! It is now Sunday, still no callback that I was promised Thursday, or Friday. No order, and still waiting! This store is consistently one of the worst customer service experiences of my life, which I have told them, and like most issues at this store they brushed off and did not care. Went to Fairfield Staples on Thursday Feb 9 and purchased what i thought was the correct ink cartridge pack for my Canon Printer. I was helped by a store employee. Got home, opened up the package and it was for printing photographs and not what I needed. Back to the store and was informed that I would need to purchase my ink cartridges individually which added up to $$$$, more than i paid for my printer. I declined and they agreed to refund my money. I paid $61.00 with my debit card, the cashier said my account would be credited within the hour. Saturday 11 Feb, i checked my account and no credit from Staples. Returned to the store and the manager said my money wasn't returned because i used a credit card for the purchase and it would be returned to my account onMonday the 13th. I explained that I used my debit card and showed it to him to verify the #'s. Sorry for the mix up he said I need to wait until monday. Today I checked my account and still no refund. went to the store and different manager said it will take 5 business days for my refund and he also told me today was a holiday???, but the store and banks are open, so WTF??. For the people that read this be advised Staples in Fairfield Ca. will hold on to your money if you paid for it with a debit or credit card to return something. Ive been given the runaround by 2 different managers in that store and still don't have my ink cartridges or my money. Staples uses unscrupulous business practices and if i could given them minus stars I would. It is a shame that they are allowed to operate in this manner. read more
