I love working with Pat and the staff at Delta. They are incredibly professional and the price is right.

Every UPS store I dealt with in the past for Amazon returns seemed to have the process down: scan the code, package if need to, put some tape, issue receipt. Easy in and out with minimal wait for the most part. As soon as I saw what Vacaville Staples has come down to nowadays, I knew this wouldn't be a similar experience. The space is now split in 2, with the larger part belonging to Dollar Tree. What's left of Staples is small, but somehow still disorganized store. At least there are signs where the Amazon returns are handled, so i walked straight past the registers to reach one unhappy employee dealing with a line of about 5 customers, herself surrounded by multiple boxes. Like a robot, she would ask everyone the same question in an annoyed voice: "how many items?". Once she would scan the code, her body language doesn't even try to hide how much she hates doing this. In between sighs and heavy breathing, I felt like leaving before it was even my turn. Just being in the same space made me feel uncomfortable, like I was doing something wrong. Just as I reached the counter, this Staples employee starts rummaging through boxes and said it will be couple of minutes. Yes, there are still about 4-5 people behind me waiting and the only employee that is handling the returns is moving items to different boxes. Let that register. Once she was finished; same robotic question. She then printed out the sticker, slapped it on the item, and threw it into the box. Finally, asks "any questions?". Hell no, I just want to get out of here. It's a true shame that Amazon is letting Staples handle their returns and that Staples does not care about at least some basic customer service. I'm not sure where this employee's frustration comes from, but taking it out on customers surely will not help her cause. Two stars just because the return showed up as accepted in my Amazon account, but I surely hope I never have to come back here.

At checkout, the cashier (a female with colored hair) told me the coupon was for online purchases only. Without thinking much about it, I said "okay" and completed the transaction. After leaving, I looked at the coupon again and noticed that it clearly states, "Present coupon to cashier." I returned to the store, showed her the coupon, requested a return, and asked to speak with a manager. Unfortunately, the return process itself took quite a while, and by that point I was frustrated and just wanted to leave. As a former OfficeMax team leader, I'm familiar with the register system. If a coupon doesn't scan automatically, the system allows the cashier to manually enter the coupon code when appropriate. We were also trained to prioritize customer service and honor valid promotions whenever possible. What disappointed me most wasn't just the coupon--it was the lack of effort to help resolve the situation. I made a trip to the store specifically because of the promotion, spent my time shopping, and left feeling like my concerns didn't matter. A little initiative and willingness to assist would have made a significant difference in my experience.

It's always been a pleasure working with the staff at an Office Depot. They've been professional and knowledgeable. When I visited, the sales had gotten up to 50% off. The store was looking at least half empty maybe more. I don't think the prices are gonna go down much more because they're gonna run out of stock. Since I was already on the market for a printer, I did decide to make a purchase and consulted with the staff about their opinion. I've already looked up online reviews of my chosen product. It was reassuring that the staffers's opinion and the online reviews were close to identical. It helps that my brother is a specialist in this area as well and his opinion jibed with both the online review and the staff. Well, that's a lot of consensus. It was 40% off, which beat the sales price of everything else out there by a tidy percentage. Effectively it may be too late to write a review about the store, because the selection of stock is so low anything I say might be gone by the time you read this. But in the end, I'm sorry that the store is going out of business and I wish the staff all my best.
