what girl doesn't love office supplies?!!! a multitude of pens...pads...technology...i seriously can't complain about their inventory. the customer service on the other hand...it's definitely lacking. no greeting even at the register, just ring the customer up, show no enthusiasm at questions being asked and send them on their way. and it wasn't as if the store was packed...my sister and i were the only ones there! maybe i'll frequent the la mesa location across from grossmont center because the customer service definitely exceeds there. read more

They have what you're looking for. But there's usually never any deals. Their prices are competitive but they never have anything on sale that I need. The staff is knowledgeable. I go there as a last resort. They are convenient to have a UPS counter in their store. read more

Very disappointed in the direction Staples has gone. I gave shopped here for office supplies for my business for 10 years. All of a sudden office supplies has taken a back seat to becoming a "Target" type store, more interested in selling cleaning supplies and cards than envelopes. The selection of business envelopes has shrunk to almost non-existent staus... Shame on Staples Corporate for abandoning what they have always been. Every time I go into this store they tell me ( specifically the young lady in the copy center) what they CAN'T do. What the heck can you do?! Won't be coming to this store EVER again. I've wanted on several occasions to make bottle labels for special events and they've A) not had the labels I needed and didn't offer to help find any for me and B) not had the email option to do it right there. Terrible store. More times than not, I leave without buying a thing. Last week, I went to buy 2 items. Only 1 checkout open with no one there. I moved to another checkout person, who quickly left to help someone else. Meanwhile, the "open" checkout had several people in line with no checkout person. I placed my items down and left. But, there's more to this. I had some difficulty navigating some of the aisle do to some product rearrangement and stuff was all over the floor, lots of salespeople ignoring customers. There is no customer service and what little there is are rude non-helpful people. This store requires new management. None of this is an isolated incident. Every time I walk into this store it's been similar crap. I've finally learned to drive twice as far to go shopping. read more

Had to laminate something today. Was told that it would be 1 hour. Left paper to be laminated and did other errands. Came back one hour later and laminating had not been done. Had to wait while machine was turned on to "heat up" another 15 minutes passed before it was completed. One hour 15 minutes to laminate one sheet of paper. Ridiculous! read more

i recently had a work emergency where we had to have dozens of proposals printed overnight. i ran to staples, and the nice, young gal behind the counter stayed late and came in early the next morning to complete the order, which was greatly appreciated! customer service at this store is usually good, but i'm rating this a 5-star because of this young lady's exceptional service. this store's overall organization and product availability is also good. great for a one-stop office stop. read more

This review is for the young lady, SKYE in the printing department. I had two notebooks I needed copied and didn't have the time or patience to copy them myself. She helped me right away, asked if I needed binding on them and got me out fast. After work I went to pick them up and she was still there. She had made me beautiful covers for both notebooks and I'm very pleased with the final project. Excellent customer service on her part. read more

Great customer service. I ordered something from the staples website, once I received it I changed my mind and decided I wanted to go with a different color. Wasn't sure how to return my online purchase so went to the website which said I could return in store so I did. Once I got to the store the sales associate was super helpful and took my purchase even though it turned out to be an affiliation with wayfair which meant I would of had to print the return label and send it back myself but they did not give me a hard time, they took care of everything for me. Would've gone to another location but they close at 7pm and didn't have much time to use both my rewards and coupon. I ordered business cards in April, it was a week long process as they could not get the design correct to send in. Finally I okay it and then they had to make another change so they went ahead and sent it off without me proofing it again. When I went to pick them up 2 weeks later the email address was wrong. They reordered them but it has taken one month to receive them and they are still not correct. They tried to get me to pay for them again and I had to speak to a manager who then asked me to pay half price...I don't think so. This is the third time I have ordered business cards from them and apparently there is only one person who knows how to do them and he is no longer there. If you need business cards in a timely manner DO NOT order at Staples. read more

There's no self-service. If you have a flash drive you can't print your own documents, you have to wait in line ugh.

I don't write many reviews, but I must comment on the service I received at Staples computer repair service in Rancho San Diego. I was hesitant to bring my computer in because of bad experiences at another large national retailer. I usually have a small shop do my repairs, but they took a day off. Time was important to me so I took a chance and brought in my aging desk top computer. It had multiple issues culminating in blue screen crashes. It took more than a day for it crash under diagnostics. Long story, short, my computer hasn't worked this well since it was new. I followed all their recommendations and am extremely satisfied with the results. Jacob and Leo were very professional and seemed genuinely interested in solving my computer problems. I don't give 5 star ratings as a rule. But this experience was at least a 4.75! read more

Man I just don't get it. Every single time I go into this Staples I am greeted like a long lost brother. They are so helpful I can't believe some of these bad reviews. Waiting 15 minutes? I've never waited more than two. Come on. Do you know how LONG 15 minutes is? I go there about once or twice a month. My experience there is NOTHING like those that say they aren't greeted or can't find someone to help. I give them 5 STARs and I'd give them more if I could. Took wife's laptop in on Friday because it was overheating. They're listed as an HP Authorized Service Center, so that's why we went there. Dropped it off and showed them it was overheating. Got an email on Sunday that it was ready for pickup, so went in around noon. It wasn't ready, still doing more diagnostics. The dude at the tech desk claimed they'd cleaned off some viruses and that's what was causing it to overheat (smells like BS to me). He said they were open til 7, so I got there at 6:10 and they were closed. Manager let me in after I explained the situation. The paperwork was all screwed up (along with my payment/nonpayment). I got the laptop and turned it on and it was immediately reading overtemp (100C). I told the manager that as far as I was concerned, no work had been performed since the laptop was still overheating and demanded a refund. When I got home I noticed on the paperwork they had "Reset all internet browsers" and "deleted all system restore points." This meant they'd deleted the bookmarks (what does this have to do with overheating?) and restore points I had put on there on purpose. So, not only did they NOT fix the laptop, they did a bunch of destructive stuff they had no business doing. I will NEVER shop at another Staples for any reason after this experience. read more

I was having printer/cartridge issues and decided it was better to drive to Staples and talk to someone rather than try to do it online. I walked up to the tech support desk and began asking the gal who was sitting there the question when James slid right into the conversation and said to his coworker, "I am going to listen in case you don't know the answer." BAM! It all went uphill from there! James took me to the printer cartridge wall, explained why I should buy what I needed to buy and then he noticed that my coupon was not yet in effect. He immediately spoke to his manager, had the coupon validated for me and even took a nickel out of his own pocket to help me pay for it while I was digging in my purse for the nickel to make exact change. What a guy! I am a business owner. My biggest challenge in life, regarding my business, is finding people who understand customer service and have good people skills. If James stays on this path of making the business owner look like a rock star he is going to go far in life. I will choose this store over the store that is closer to my house any day of the week. read more

My husband reports - I went to purchase an ink cartridge. I had to wait over 20 minutes after asking for help while James, Asst Mgr, and another employee had a little chat behind the Customer Service counter. I had to ask the cashier for assistance and she directed me back to the same two people. James then came over as if inconvenienced by my request for assistance. He looked and told me "we don't have it". I pointed to the $10 off sign for items not in stock and asked for my $10 off. James then proceeded to tell me "that only counts if we carry it". This makes no sense as it was available on order. James offered to order it and have it mailed to my house. I gave him all the info he requested and he filled out the order form. He then informed me that it can't be mailed to a PO Box. Many of us in East County only get mail at our PO Boxes. This whole evolution was irritating and bad customer service from the moment I walked in the door. James has very poor Managerial skills and appears to have difficulty dealing with customers. I will no longer shop at my local Staples. I will either drive to Chula Vista Staples or go to Office Depot instead. read more
