We had an appointment at 11:25 for an eye exam. We got there early for paperwork etc. when we walked in it was utter disarray and chaos. The store was dirty. People had left trash and drink cups on the waiting area chairs. The employees were very unprofessional. We waited until 11:45 when we decided to leave. There was no sign of cleaning/sanitizing anything between customers. I had bought my glasses there and had a wonderful experience and thought I'd bring my boyfriend here expecting the awesome experience that I had before. Unfortunately this was not the case. I will never refer anyone else to this location. read more

This place is so unfriendly and so unwelcoming. Made appointments for me and my husband at 10am. We walked in and were not even acknowledged until about 5 minutes of us standing at the front. When finally greeted. The lady had asked what we were here for. I told her we had appointments to get our eyes checked at 10. But, I had a few questions before proceeding with the appointment. She pointed and said you can take a seat. I'm busy at the moment so I can't answer your questions right now. My husband and I just looked at each other and rolled out eyes like okay. lol!! We went and waited where we were told. Plenty of employees were walking around by us and again no acknowledgment by anyone. Finally after another 30 minutes of waiting we were finally started our process of starting our eye exam. Then the lady couldn't even tall me if they took our insurance. She went to go ask someone. I get if you don't know you don't know. But, that was our final straw after everything. So we just got up and left. So unprofessional. Would not recommend. read more

Overall I am happy with my experience here. The employees were super nice. I had an appointment and when I got there they were pretty busy. I was taken into the exam room and had a "virtual" exam provided by the Dr. Through a "zoom" type of appointment. Afterwards she told me she was sending one of the techs back in. No one came. For a pretty good amount of time. When they finally did come in they were apologetic and the manager gave me a discount on my glasses. Like i said. Overall they were great. I got my glasses way earlier than expected. :) read more

Loved my experience at Stanton optical! Baylee helped me out and hooked me up with a great deal!

Look! I'm back. I've had issues with this store and Stanton Optical as a whole yet again. I've called to request a copy of my Rx, so I can purchase contacts anywhere but here. I've called 4 times, and each time, I get the same run-around "Sure, I'll send it off in 15 mins." And each time, nothing has been sent. I haven't had time to go into the store itself, because it's the holidays and I've been slammed - the last place that I want to go to at the end of my day is Stanton Optical. But alas, as their employees can't manage to do their jobs and lack in customer service to any degree. Why is this place still in business? read more

Misleading, poor follow up service. I bought two pairs of glasses about 8 months ago. Paid for the extended warranty (image attached) on the lenses after the technician explained that it would enable me to replace the lenses for up to two years for 20% of the cost. I went in with the glasses wanting to change the lenses (which had scratched - despite having paid for a "hard coat") and was told that since my prescription had changed the extended warranty didn't apply. The extended warranty only replaces lenses at the original prescription. Read the small print, don't believe what you are told here. read more

Stanton Optical - Eyewear & Opticians Near Me - Santee, California

Their service was exceptional. I went in yesterday to get an eye test done as well as glasses. I was able to pick both frames up within 30 mins! Beyond this the staff are super friendly too. I would recommend them for sure. read more

Great, professional experience with Charlese. I highly recommend if you're looking for some new glasses and unsure of where to go.

I LOVE Santee Stanton Optical! It was my first time here and had been a couple of years since my last eye exam. I scheduled an appointment on their website which was VERY easy and took only 5 minutes. The costumer service CANNOT BE BEAT! When I entered, I was immediately greeted and checked in. I only had to fill out one form and then was ushered into a room for a pre-check of my eyes (to determine if I needed to start browsing for frames). I can't remember her name but she had short blonde hair and was super helpful and kind. Matthew was also another great staff member! He helped me break down the pricing on my glasses which was reassuring to know that I wasn't going to go broke on this new glasses endeavor I was taking. He was very accommodating and had a great attitude! I ended up walking out of there with two pairs of glasses and a pair of sunglasses for way less than $300! Talk about a steal! When I paid for my frames, the doctor took me into an examination room where I performed the actual test of my eyes to see which prescription my new frames would hold. The test was very simple and the doctor was very personable but still very professional! She put my mind at ease and talked me through every step. There is an enormous selection of frames that lined all four walls of the building. It was my first time needing glasses so I really appreciated the range they offered. Style, color, kids, you name it they probably have it. My glasses took about an hour to fill since it was lunch hours. Which I though was still really quick. I will be raving about this place to EVERYONE! I had such a great experience! 12/10 recommend read more

See all

I think this place is totally misleading in their adds. The eye exam is NOT free. They ask for $45.00 up front, "in case you dont buy glasses". The selection for free frames is about 8-10 out of hundreds. And then we were told it does not include the lenses. $160.00 later we got 2 pair of very cheap glasses with substandard frames. All I can hope for is that the perscription is correct. After reading other Yelp reviews, Something I should have done 1st. I see that getting your prescription correct doesn't always happen. They mislead you to get you in there then the "salesmen" upsell you. Stick to Walmart. read more

just a pure rip-off, they take in for a pair of glass and eye exam for $59.99, and they try to charge $499.00 I consider this company a shady business trapping customer in to rip them off! Do not recommend. read more

I stopped by in the afternoon needing a new pair of glasses after my only pair broke. All staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, I explained that I was traveling on business the next day and they were able to give me an eye exam and two new pairs of glasses in two hours. I am extremely satisfied with their professionalism and will be buying future glasses from Stanton again! Special thanks to Amenah for her wonderful customer service and really appreciate associates like this that go above and beyond. read more

Went in bc I was way overdue for some new glasses. Got an appt the day and time I needed, did a virtual eye exam with the doctor and all went well. Amenah was super nice and helpful when trying to decide which frames complimented my face shape. Baylee was up front when i picked up and sized all pairs to my specific needs and did a great job. All my glasses came out in great condition! I will def be back when I need more pairs or anything repaired read more

Stanton Optical in Santee, continues to come through for me. I arrived to find out the my EyeMed coverage was no longer accepted. But they shown me other promotions and plans that were even a better deal. I was grateful I could get everything done in one stop! read more

Friendly, courteous staff. They were very helpful and attentive in assisting me in finding the frames I liked, even calling other stores to find a frame that they only had 1 of in the store. The Eye Exam was simple and went very quickly but was very thorough. My wife also had a great experience with her exam. My wife and I need Bi-focals so I have to wait 2 weeks to get our glasses but that is still quicker than we expected . My last Eye Exam and purchase was with E/W and they were rude and had to mail my glasses to me, which took 1 month, and I had to take them back twice because the first time the 1 frame was wrong and the second time the left lens was wrong. In closing I would like to say: So far I am VERY happy with Stanton and I will never go to E/W again. So take that Mr. World! STANTON!!! read more

This place sucks ... I scheduled my appointment 2 weeks ago and left work early to arrive on time. I get into the parking lot and they call me and cancel. Saying the doctor had an emergency . I walked in and they write down on a piece of paper the same deal they have on the window. So then i made an appointment for a week later on saturday . I go in and i told them what happened last time and they didnt seem to care. I get checked in and show them my insurance and they say they dont accept it. Even though the guy i scheduled with reassured me that they do. This place sucks and i will never go back . I will also tell everyone i know where NOT to go for glasses . read more

The only reason they are getting a two was for the male employee , out of all the employees he is the only one to give us a smile. The female receptionist was not happy about being there on Labor Day. She has no knowledge of the contact promotion not her fault, her fault was a bad attitude about it. She kept checking back and fourth with someone in a office "Daisy" and that person never came out to talk to us, only relaying information to this girl for 20 mthat was not happy. Lousy corporation! Long story short the promo was bs and the girl that was going to do the initial exam didn't look like she had good hygiene. We left and told them we had no confidence in Stanton. It's really too bad as they are around the corner from my home. On another note they have very cheap looking lenses. Stanton responded just by a plain sorry. I see similar reviews. read more

My husband and I had a great experience at Stanton while getting him a new prescription and new glasses. Carolyn was super helpful and very friendly. She got my husband set up with exactly what he needed at a great price. Thanks to the deal they had going he's getting to pairs of glasses for the price of one and thankfully they accepted carecredit. Thanks Carolyn and Stanton Optical. read more

I made an appointment for 9:45. Arrived right on time and had to wait ten minutes for them to check my temperature. Then I sat around for an hour for my exam. I finally got fed up and just left. I have never been to a location where I had to wait a whole hour after my appointment time and there was no end in site for the wait as there were at least two customers ahead of me. Weird that they have you make appointments if they're not going to bother sticking to them. I won't be back. read more

This place was great Dr Houchin was very kind. She made me feel comfortable. PJ worked her magic and for me a great deal on some cute glasses. Everyone is very welcoming. I would recommend this place to anyone who needs glasses. read more

Very good service. The optometrist is very detailed and take her time to measure as best as she can. The front desk enployees are friendly and helpfull. The $79 package is very limited and prices goes up very quick once you choose a diferent frame and and ad ons to the original prescription. I choose to pay cash and get that pair of glasses to keep it on my cars and will use my insurance somewhere else to buy one good pair withh all the extras. read more

I'm not a yelper, in fact, I just signed up to give a shout out to Nick. They were very busy when I came in but Nick took time with me and answered any questions I had. He even took time to explain different types of lenses and helped me choose the best one to fit my needs. He helped me go over Costs and insurance benefits to make sure that I was getting the best deal. I highly recommend working with Nick when you go in. I've been to a lot of different eye places and he's by far been the most professional and knowledgeable hands down! read more

I don't want to hurt a business during this time, I understand Covid being brought up as an issue, but this was not Covid related. I brought my daughter to Stanton, I was told not to because of previous experiences, but decided to give the franchise a try Walmart and other places were booked, they weren't! Ordered glasses from a different site got eye exam and lenses from Stanton, my daughter being a (picky teenager) I dropped off glasses and Stanton "mailed glasses to corporate" and was told corporate is not getting back to them with necessary info. I did this in early June we're end of July and still nothing. I asked for my money back, I now have to wait for corporate to mail me out check so I'm probably out that money too along with my other glass frames that I purchased. I would think a business would want to keep their customers happy as we are the ones who keep them surviving. I'm very disappointed. I don't like my trust to be abused from. I don't think anyone does. Sadly my glasses at insured with them i hope to not have to use them ever again! read more

I went there today and was thoroughly impressed - EVERY staff member was ready to help, friendly, inviting, concerned, and most of all PATIENT. The team REALLY cares to make sure you get the lens that you are fully satisfied with. They each went out of their way to search the whole store for the exact lens that I was looking for, unlike some places that seem irritated with indecisive customers. Nick was especially helpful with getting me a great deal, didn't try to up sell me on extras I didn't need, and was patient even after closing hours until I found what I wanted. I wish I remembered each crew member's name, but they were all just as awesome! Would HIGHLY recommend this place, and will definitely go back to them again for my next pair! read more

After two hours of a rushed eye exam and a lot of waiting around we were going to talk about frames when I asked if they took my insurance (which their website says they do) and they don't. They offered me their plan and even with that I had a copay of $25 just to get the results of my exam. Uh, my insurance is a $0 copay for exams. I left immediately and won't be back!! The only response they gave was that the website was wrong and the manager needs to fix it. read more

Pj was awesome! Went above and beyond in helping me out. I wish life would be this easy.

I went in for the $99 special for two pairs of transitional bifocals + eye exam. Unfortunately my current job does not offer vision insurance so I needed to make my money go as far as possible. From beginning to end, manager Destiny and her team made us feel welcome, important and taken care of. Everything was disinfected as the exam went along and even with all of the restrictions in place we were very comfortable the entire time we were there. The employees are upbeat, professional and happy in their work, and they worked with me as far as price without making me feel like a poverty case. Chose this place because it was a convenient location to my area. I was off work on a Monday and called them at 9 AM when they opened. After waiting until 11 am appointment, another 40 minutes in the store for an eye exam and 30 minutes after picking a pair of frames. This is my first pair of glasses, and after paying for the rest of what my insurance wouldn't cover, I walked out for about $120 for frames and lenses. They didn't have my glasses in stock so we were told 7-10 days. Today was day 10, and I had not heard from anyone yet so I called. Only to be told it would be another 7 days. They were able to expedite the order, but overall I was not impressed and will not be returning. read more
