Let me start this by saying I had been looking forward to this for the past two years because insurance guide lines and I was very satisfied. This place has TOTALLY changed from it's pandemic era. It's back to the way it used to be. GREAT Dr. Dr Z. gave me a full exam, saw a little problem that he completely explained, we will look out for it in the future but all is well. I was not rushed we had plenty of time and was very satisfied with his answers. Then is was on to Luis to pick frames. I was by myself and the first frames that caught my eye were for someone much younger and hipper then I ever was. I asked if I could take a picture and send it to my wife and he said, "Please do". Instantly got messaged back with a resounding "NO!". I then picked two pairs that were slightly the same. Luis told me which one would be better for my face and fit better because of the placement of my eyes in the frames. Once again explaining why in detail. Could not be happier. Worse service ever and treated with disrespect from a freaking eye office out of all places!!Had an excellent first visit this year and got the cheapest price I had ever paid for computer glasses. However when I went back to have my 3 month old glasses that only get used during a 40 hour work week had the screw come out completely. I went back to Alpine office only to be treated really rude by the older, white lady, the one assigned to give you glasses to try on. She refused to assist me further after she fixed my glasses. Then I spoke to the office manager Ari.... who assured me I would get some kind of follow up for this situation yet I never got a phone call. I still want to know where do I report this employee unwelcome service where she is paid to be helpful. Give me the information to report employee who are disrespectful and refuse service to patients. This happen in July 2025. read more

Update AGAIN. It's been 3 weeks, i mailed a letter to the doctor and the corporate offices and still nothing. UPDATE called Monday AND Tuesday, left more voice mails, no call back. Called last Thursday to the 800 number to file a complaint and was ASSURED someone would call me back. Nope. No call back Monday or Tuesday either regarding my complaint. Seriously don't use this company. read more

Go there to pick up my contacts, at 1:24pm 03/26/2025, and they are closed. They are supposed to be open, but are not. I moved MY lunch hour to when they were "supposed" to be open to be able to go and pick up my contacts only to get there and they are closed. Very unprofessional business. read more

Needed to change my appointment and no one called back. I called again and they stated "I guess we were busy"...then, it took 15 minutes on hold to tell me I could not see the optometrist they had me scheduled with because she didn't accept my insurance and they wanted to set me up with another in the group that had low ratings. All their calls seem to be directed to some call center, since they have too many locations to provide their patients with good communication and service. read more

They recently hired a new prescription receptionist, and unfortunately, she's by far the rudest staff member there. Every time I come in, she treats me with a terrible attitude. She even questioned the doctor about my prescription right in front of me. I used to really like coming here, but now I honestly don't want to return. read more

Do not let them handle your glaucoma. I had the surgery and was never told to go back on the drops. And I got worse. Last week, I saw the ophthalmologist and he said who is taking care of your eyes. And I said Acuity. He told me to go back on the drops, that was Wednesday. This is Friday and I have no drops, no prescription called in, nothing. They are closed on the weekends. Never let them take care of your glaucoma, they are remiss, do not follow up, and do not call in prescriptions. read more

if i could give this place a zero i would. they at first are nice then if you have an issue the doctor a women and the person in charge of helping you choose your glasses are RUDE! I came in with a problem with my new glasses and was made felt like i was the problem when it ended up being that yes i was right my prescription was not right. they also add extra charges without asking and have a bad attitude. never coming here again. unprofessional and they take things personal when it's not about them read more

Not sure about Alpine location but the El Cajon is terrible. The old address was on the confirmation, had to call to get current address which made us 10 min late.. all to sit there for an hour and 20 min for them to tell me they didn't accept my insurance after I had already given them my insurance card when I checked in. You think they would have told me then that they didn't accept my insurance. A huge waste of time.. never would recommend them. read more

My 4 year old daughter and myself went in for a regular yearly eye exam. My daughter did her exam first and the doctor was great with her they flew through it. My turn came up and I explained my symptoms and within a few minutes tests were finished and she had my overall outcome and a solution. Moral of this is eye doctor knows her stuff and we were in and out. I highly recommend this place! read more

The team at Acuity eye group has always been such a plea to work with! I have been able to make same day appointments with no problem. Luis is the best optical technician around! He is always so helpful and kind! I called him once from the Grand Canyon when I dropped my prescription glasses and scratched them up pretty badly. I had a prescription from another eye group, which was not even close to what I should have had. I recommend Acuity eye group, because their professionalism and friendliness are top notch! Service is okay but both times Ive used Acuity Ive had billing issues. First instance involved receiving a bill for additional charges after having paid in full at time of service. Second time I was charged quit a bit more for my eyeglasses than what was listed on my insurance website which is what I was told they were looking at when I purchased them. When I called the billing dept I was told they would review my case even though they didn't even ask what I was disputing. The snarky female on the phone said they would respond in 10 days. Three weeks later, Ive heard nothing. The first issue was resolved stating, "it was a billing mistake" after several weeks. Im still waiting for resolution on billing issue number 2 which is over $100.00. After all that they sent me yet another bill for my exam copay which I paid at time of service. I will not be using Acuity ever again due to the horrible service when making billing inquiries at the corporate office. They are two for two in this aren and quite frankly seem less than interested in helping customers at this level. read more

I went to West Coast Eye Care from a referral from Grossmont Emergency because I had something wrong with my right eye. I found out that I had a corneal ulcer possibly from recent use of contact lenses. The staff was very friendly, professional and easy to conversate with. The doctor was informative and very careful with examination of my eye. I was instructed not to wear my contacts in which I don't think I will ever again. The emergency center gave me an eyedrop prescription of Moxifloxacin to which the doctor at West Coast Eye Cave gave me a second prescription. Luis the optician is the most arrogant condescending and combative person. First of all I only found this place because it was on my insurance provider list. He kept insisting that they do not accept my insurance. My insurance calls me on three way to let him know how to use my insurance. He later says that never happened. I let him know I would like to make a complaint about his service and would like to speak to the business manager or regional manager. He kept asking why and I would repeat myself self. Then he said he is the manager. Would not recommend to anyone. read more

This is the second time I've taken my daughter to this location. Both experiences have been frustrating. The first time they claimed the lab lost the lenses, it took a month and a half to get her glasses. That's after checking with them frequently to see what the hold up was, finally someone looked into it. The second time, the frames were never sent to the lab and I had to check numerous times to see what the hold up was. I do have to say that once DEE found out what the issue was, she went out of her way to find the frames and get them to the lab. She called and checked in with me when she sent them and even called to make sure my daughter was happy with the glasses. DEE gets a 5 star review. read more
