Customer Service was 10/10 I came in with my 3 kids (already stressed about it) but this younger girl with light hair was super friendly with my kids! Providing them coloring books and crayons and being attentive to them while being attentive to me. Then after my exam I was told my options for the 2 for $79. Since my prescription was much higher I would need to upgrade which I wasn't too excited about but it was super logical. I was back and forth whether or not I was going to get the glasses or just pay for the exam and get glasses elsewhere. The guy who helped me check out was super patient (cause I was super indecisive) and he even gave me a discount because I was unsure I wanted to buy the frames. I ended accepting the deal:) thank you for your help Santee staff, I didn't catch anyone's name:/ read more

Fantastic customer service. I stopped in to have minor adjustments made to two pair of glasses. Even though I hadn't purchased the glasses from Stanton, Jose fixed them within a few minutes at no charge. These days it's not often to experience such great service, with a pleasant personality and smile. They even offered me a bottle of water while I waited. Next time I need new glasses, I'll be going to Stanton Optical in Santee! read more

It's a scam. Pretty upset actually. And the second woman that helped me was pretty condescending. Walked in telling her I was only interested in the "2 glasses + eye exam for $79". Long story short, I paid $118 and did not come home with any glasses. I was told that the frames would be an additional $100 because I required thinner lenses. Then after deciding to take my prescription elsewhere and just pay for the exam, an additional $39 was added. I asked why and she said that I had a special test done. I told her no one mentioned this to me and she said " well it's only $39". I feel gross. I'm really upset that they got away with it. The woman was making me feel bad for not having insurance and kept asking questions that were unhelpful. UPDATE: I was contacted by the regional manager who sincerely apologized for my experience. I appreciate his care and attention towards the matter. Hopefully he helps to align his staff on an ideal customer experience read more

I was told a price after asking multiple times i kept getting the same $25 for an eye exam. I was never told that to get that proce i needed to buy glasses that same day, i ended up paying $108 just for an eye exam. read more

I had an excellent experience at Staten Optical. I walked in and was greeted right away. They took my glasses and, within minutes, Jose had then fixed and properly sized. The entire process took under five minutes, and I appreciated the fast, friendly, and professional service. If you need quick adjustments or repairs, Staten Optical is a great choice. Kudos to Jose for the efficient work--I'll definitely return for any future needs. - Jenna was amazing as well!! . read more

Don't go here. Didn't even get to see a doctor the assistant did all the tests. Said she would show the results to the doctor. Then they left me waiting for my glasses for 4 days. No courtesy call. When I said something about it they drugged it off all " the system should do it". It didn't. And Jenna the manager didn't care a bit. She had the nerve to say see you next year. And gave me a number that doesn't answer. Go somewhere else and get better service. read more

WORST PLACE! I can't talk about other locations but the one in santee off mission gorge rd is HORRIBLE!! Don't come here! I had a pair that they gave me the lady said i can just keep them as a spare and i went in to get my other real pair and and the guy said ya we need them back!! Like don't have ur employees tell me one thing and do another!!!! And he was like why you only paid for one pair it's like well your guys employee said I could keep that pair just horrible service read more

I broke my beautiful glasses frames that I got here and Nick and Maggie came to my rescue not only did they instantly give me new frames and pop my lenses right in them but they gave him a power bath and now it's like I have brand new eyes again! This is definitely the location to come to. Thank you Maggie and nick! read more

Jenna is amazing she went above and beyond on helping with not only my prescription glasses and price but she kept my kids entertained as well. Total family vibe in there loved it will be back and will Be recommending to all family and friends thank you again Jenna and Stanton optical!! read more

I had paid for 3.rd time my glasses broke so I had to get the frames for the 3rd time and the date I was supposed to get them they still weren't ready due to some problem with the frames. Not very happy with the whole experience of my glasses falling apart more than once. And After i paid over $200 just for the old prescription on file for new lenses to be put in the frames not ready the date they are supposed to be and then they tell me they don't know when they will be ready and they will call me when they are ready really sets me back. I wouldn't recommend them read more

Went in to get my frames looked at and fixed. Without any hesitations Jenna grabbed my glasses and fixed them within minutes of being there. Right before I left she noticed the glasses I had on my face were ready to give out as well. She asked me to remove them and fixed those with no problem as well. I highly recommend coming here. Ask for Jenna !! read more

Total scam! Eye exam and frames $79. If you want the lenses $300 plus! The penguin dosen't tell you that in the commercial! They make it sound like you get the whole package for $79. Once I got my estimate for 2 pair of glasses for $650 I decided to leave. I wasn't expecting that! They didn't even charge me for the exam. The whole experience was shady! read more

The $79 for two pairs is a joke , they spent $$ on advertising vs actually having frames available. The front office gentleman is clearly annoyed with having to explain the "blue" $79 frames , he looks bothered and comes across as rude . He looked me in the face and said , hhmm that's teal , not blue . I'm not color blind , I just picked up that pair to see if I liked it !!!! Dammmm . read more

Initially the staff is friendly. However, the glasses do not work well for me. At the same time, I was told I will need cataract surgery fairly soon. I was given a flyer with several eye doctors in the area, also told that they did not know if these doctors accepted MEDI-CAL. So NONE of the doctors on this list accepts MEDI-CAL. I paid over $450.00 dollars for two pairs of glasses at Stanton. I've kept one, although it is not working well for me. I am trying to cancel the second pair, which has still not been made yet. I've been told several times that the office is going thru some sort of system "change" and has caused problems. This has been a very expensive and unhappy experience. I am willing to pay for the first pair of glasses (although they are not working for me), but I should get my money reimbursed for the second pair, which has not arrived yet. Everything my single vision glasses that were to be ready in 30 minutes now after 3week still not ready wtf

Overpriced and inaccurate measurements via telemedicine. My new prescription doesn't work and I'm out hundreds of dollars. The experience was very robotic. Minimal interaction and everything took so long. Just paying my bill took an hour to enter and the pick up was just as bad. Parking is awful not that they can help it but there are far better places to go that are cheaper with an actual optometrist on site. read more

The process was extremely quick and to my surprise, I got my glasses 30 minutes later after my eyes were examined. I would always use the optometrist in Walmart and I've been using the same one since I was 18 and I am now 38, I have now changed to the Stanton optical in Santee. Thank you! read more

09/26/2023 I did have another appointment at Stanton Optical, this time meeting with an actual person to redo the examine, she found out that the glasses, I had gotten a few weeks later were not the correct prescription. I feel meeting with an actual person exam was better. The manager Jon, asst. manager Noor were very helpful, in making things right, and to fix it immediately. Baylee, Jenna, and Amenah were super friendly + professional in helping me get my new sunglasses/ and reading glasses. Overall my trips to Stanton Optical were pretty quick, and I received excellent customer service. Thank You-- Santee Team! read more

Jenna and her team have always been so good to me. I was there to order regular glasses and sunglasses. I was nervous going in, as I had never ordered prescription sunglasses before and their customer service was outstanding. The exam went smoothly, and picking out glasses and sunglasses with the whole team was a breeze. I did purchase the warranty for the frame and lenses, which initially I was not sure if I would need. I am SO GLAD THAT I DID, because guess what I bent my frames. I went back in recently and the replacement process was very simple and straightforward. I was met with a smile from all of the staff and Jenna assisted me with the replacement of the frames! I paid 20% and they paid 80% of the replacement, which was previously explained to me when I purchased the warranty. There was nothing about the replacement that caught me off guard. They have a large selection of frames and friendly staff. My prescription sunglasses have been a game changer for me and I highly recommend anyone who wears glasses to stop by and check them out read more

So I need to update this review. After 8 return trips all I can say is the customer service is great, the deals, selection and prices were great. NO Quality Control on their product is taking place. No one is making sure all edges, lens, and frames are smooth and blemish fee, the lens are clear and not blurred or different prescription strengths. I had nothing but problems, starting with my first appointment prescription over the video not being accurate at all and going down hill from there. I got a partial refund but still ended up out one of the pair of glasses, paid for 2, but I didn't even want them back at that point, after they were scratched there while there getting "fixed'. Go elsewhere and make.sure to avoid the video appointment see the optometrist in person. read more

Buyer beware! Though the staff demonstrated friendly service to the customer, there were a myriad of cascading failures: (1) Stanton Optical's email notification that the spectacles are ready for pick up is misleading; after I arrived at the Santee Store, the employee could not locate the spectacle even though it was checked in; (2) Store manager lacked customer service and integrity when he promised to contact me the same day on the whereabouts of the missing spectacles; (3) Store lacked process discipline, accountability and training on how to document, process, and track shipping and receiving of spectacles; and (4) Attention to detail was lacking from the regional manager to the store manager; when the regional manager refunded the cost of two prescription spectacles because his store manager failed to contact me about the missing spectacles, he failed to transcribe the prescription accurately into the Stanton Optical database; after I wore the spectacles, a junior employee discovered the grave error. This junior employee saved me from returning to the store for the fourth time because this week the second spectacle. I was satisfied with the junior employee's customer service and professionalism. Buyer beware and go elsewhere; save yourself hours and days of frustration and fill your prescriptions at LensCrafters, Costco or at your optometrist. I am giving two stars because the ophthalmologist was great at this location. The techs that tested me for glaucoma had to test me 10 times before asking if I had contacts in. Then after taking them out they still couldn't get a good reading. The glasses I bought were expensive & not that great. My mom got two pairs of glasses & one was made right, but the other pair she could not see out of. My friend bought two pairs. He brought one pair back because the lens fell out. The girl took his glasses in the back & when she brought them out had broken the frames. They ordered new frames without the lenses in them. The new frames arrived & the lenses don't fit because his glasses were discontinued. We have spent a small fortune between the three of us for poor quality. I do not recommend buying your glasses here. Get your prescription & go else where. I have wore glasses/contacts since 2nd grade and this is the most disorganized place I have ever been. The doctor couldn't have been better explaining things to me about my eyes & a condition I have. I highly recommend her very knowledgeable. read more

I use to love going to Stanton. Lately over the years, they have switched to remote optometrist. Let me tell you, that's the worst mistake they could have done. My prescription for contact lens is normally stable and has been the same for both eyes and it hasn't changed in years. Now ever since they switched to remote, my prescription is now stronger by like -2.5 on one eye??? Note: The other is the same. I even asked them to clean the glass during the eye exam for the left eye because it was already smeared and dirty and I strongly believe it was affecting my results. The lady did not understand and told me to continue with my exam. I wish I would've asked for a re-exam. Fast forward to one year later, my left eye (the one with the stronger contact lens prescription) is now significantly weaker and I can't see out of my glasses, ever since that exam. A second instance, I placed an order last Friday and they told me it would be ready by Wednesday (3 business days). I called in on Friday (exactly 1 week) asking them what's the status on my order, and they said it barely just got shipped and I won't receive it till next Monday. When I finally had it with them and complained, the lady over the phone was not apologetic and said it normally takes 5-7 business days. I don't care, I'm leaving after picking this prescription up. Good bye Stanton. read more

Ask for Lidia! When you have someone whose face lights up when you've found the right pair of frames is priceless! Lidia was very personable and I was with someone else and she talked to us like a friend. Totally professional but great energy so you want to engage. People can complain all they want about the process Stanton follows to attract customers but I think it's about quality and caring service. This letter is to report one of your employees -- "PJ" is outstanding! I went to my nearest Stanton center with a problem --I was quite worried because the frames of my $1000+ glasses were, I thought, broken, and I would need some complicated repair work that would take up a lot of time. I have two pairs of high quality progressive glasses which I bought in Europe a few years ago. First one and then two weeks later the other's frame separated from the frame-less optics. Broken! I thought. Not so, said Miss PJ -- it was not glue that holds those pieces together, but high-tech plastic tubes she told me. She took both pair, went back to her workshop and in just a few minutes returned with my glasses in perfect shape. And how much? No charge! I have not been a customer, but I will be one from now on. You have top-notch team member in PJ -- give her my best regards. read more
