I went into this place today because yesterday my glasses met with an unfortunate incident. They got crushed. Upon entry I was welcomes very warmly. I had made an appointment and got right in. No waiting. The Dr. was very knowledgeable and friendly. She helped me work out my new prescription and sent me out to choose my frames. Here's where the real "super star" was. Demetrius was the gentleman that helped me choose my frames, and when I told him I was working on a budget, he went above and beyond to help me out. I just needed some reading glasses to get me through until I can afford new bifocals, and i left with two pairs of glasses. One for reading and one for distance. I will be back and will recommend this place to my friends as well. The service is excellent and the selection is huge. Thank You Demetrius for all of your help. Chris the General Manager called back. After explaining the problem he said he would get right on it. He called back the next day, had ordered the contacts and they were rush delivered 2 days later. This is the pure definition of a terrible business. They advertise two pairs of glasses for $69 and free eye exam to get you in the door. What they don't tell you is that the free eye exam is only free if you buy glasses, and if you need a contact lens prescription, that also disqualifies you from the eye exam promotion. After going into this location to see the glasses selection, I couldn't even find one frame that I liked, never mind a second. The sales associates were extremely pushy. When I called to schedule the eye exam over the phone I also mentioned that I am a contact lens wearer but was not told there would be a fee for the examination. I decided to leave before getting an exam because of the deceitful tactics used to get customers in the door. Since I didn't have my eye exam, I seem to be on some missed appointment list. I have received a call every day since last Thursday stating that I missed my "free eye exam" (which again, was not free) and not only are these calls annoying, they also come from 1-877 numbers at 6:30 am which I am pretty sure is illegal since marketing calls are not allowed to happen before 8am or after 9pm. I should have checked reviews online before even calling this place. After a quick google search, it is easy to see many many complaints against the company filed with the better business bureau. Do yourself a favor and visit one of the other affordable opticals in the area that are honest and upfront regarding their services, prices, and business practices. read more

I hope others have a better experience.. Im Not too impressed with the staff. To start, i called for an appointment and was told i could be seen at 3. When i shoed up they had booked me as somone else entirely. The new doctor did very little to examine my eyes and wasnt very personable, though he did get me the contacts i needed and was decent about it. The girl assisting the doctor on the day i went in was very rude -if she had a personality at all- and didnt make me feel welcome at all. She acted like she disliked her job and was not a people person. I had chosen stanton for an exam because of their advertised prices and deals and because i had a decent experience with then before, after bringing in a contact prescription to be filled.. however, this time, not only was i dissatisfied with all but one of the staff members, they seemed to ignore what they advertised and charged me a large amount for a sloppy exam on top of what I paid for my contacts. They didnt seem to enthusiastic to share any helpful information either.. read more

My girlfriend and I needed glasses, and it was her first pair. I was tired of overspending at lenscrafters and decided to check this place out. It was welcoming, they had a huge selection, and their buy one get one free made it a no brainer. We got an eye exam, found the glasses we wanted, and almost right away we had our glasses. No complaints at all. Everything was going great, until 2 months later when my girlfriend accidentally left her glasses clipped to her shirt, rode her motorcycle, and the glasses flew off into the road. After 30 minutes of searching we found them, flattened and shattered into oblivion. I knew they were covered under warranty, but didn't think glasses being run over repeatedly would be covered. Regardless, we collected the pieces and brought them in to see what they could do. Fortunately, they WERE covered, with the warranty stating we would have to cover 20% of the cost of the glasses. The manager George met with us, and felt so bad about the situation that he waved the 20%! I was so happy and impressed that they went above and beyond for us. So I broke my glasses, and can not see a dang thing without them. So I'm freaking out wondering how I can get glasses the same day(normally i have had to wait 2 weeks.) But that wasn't the case here, got them the same day!!! This place is absolutely fantastic. So clean and organized. The people there were just amazing!! Mike helped my daughter and I with our glasses. He was great, so helpful and nice, and treated me as if we had been friends for years, we sat there cracked jokes laughed!! Never in my life have I been treated like that at the eye doctors. And the optomitrist was just as awesome too!! She made it very light and fun for my daughter's and myself. And all the other staff was just as great, always asking how I was doing if I needed anything etc. I will definitely be coming back when I need a new pair. And will be recommending this place to all my friends!! read more

Also if you have insurance and the Dr refers you to an ophthalmologist their referrals are only for PPO networks. Just saving you an unnecessary step. I came to Stanton in March of 2017 thinking 59.00 ok. Got my appt saw the optometrist everyone very friendly... Then reality, the glasses that are 2 for 59 look like clown glasses... so I spend over 200.00 on Regular and sun glasses I can see a gnats ass from 50 feet!) However after a few days I started feeling dizzy.. this went on till I consulted my Dr. As a stroke survivor she ordered many tests which I had to pay for...finally realizing perhaps it's the glasses! It was... so I am busy with my dying mother and cant return within the 90 days... so 9 months later I have a minute to talk to them... the manager says sure just pay for retesting and we will take care of it... I make appt, pay, then the SAME manager then says I have to pay for lenses.. another 150.00. SERIOUSLY!!! I just had to pay out money for testing for dizziness and now you need more money? No way... people don't go there... period!!!! read more

I regret not walking out after they got me checked in. I have never been in a place with so many helping and became a cluster mess. Exam from dr that said she had almost 22 years. But she checked my eye with a contact lense in it. I went back next day. Thank God for them giving me a refund on a prescription that was not even close. Don't waste your time to go there. My experience at Stanton Optical (in Santee) was exceptional. I have purchased eye wear from a number of places in the past, but noting compares to the quality, service, selection and value that I received from Stanton. From the moment I walked in (on their opening day) I was greeted with a smile and a can-do customer service attitude. Being opening day, one might think things would be in disarray. This was most certainly not the case. They were, without a doubt, ready to hit the ground running. Kaydi is a tremendously skilled trainer, mentor and coach. Marissa is most personable and attentive - a wonderful manager. I could tell immediately that each of the other employees that I interacted with on each of my visits was skilled with dealing with people; providing impeccable customer service. They included Brittany, Hilary, Isabel and Demetrious. A few weeks after I purchased my glasses they were stepped on and broken. I wasn't sure what to expect when I returned to the store with them. Pleasantly surprised, I was greeted by Marissa and immediately taken care of - I left in less that 10 minutes and once again, very happy. Isabel helped me the first time I came in, just before closing to double check my insurance coverage. I came back a few weeks later (on a obvious crazy Saturday!) and Isabel remembered me and my son. She helped me from start to finish rerunning my dual insurances, sizing my glasses, and apologizing for their optical lab being delayed. I could expect my glasses in 30 minutes not 10. I had an appointment today and was going to get the FREE EYE EXAM and I was told that I would have to pay $45 then take my insurance over to get he special for 2 pairs of glasses with a free eye exam. THIS IS VERY MISS LEADING. I walked out and will never return. Plus it looked like they had all employees in there getting their eyes checked. Went here today to get some glasses and Demetrius helped me find two amazing frames! The last pair of glasses I had were from almost 10 years ago and I had no idea where to start to find frames that fit my face. Plus I don't like wearing glasses so I was expecting the worst- but I was so pleasantly surprised! Demetrius was so so incredibly helpful and we went around the store and picked tons of frames to try! The selection of frames was fantastic and it made finding my new glasses so easy. I was nervous to go in because I'm not a fan of glasses and prefer to wear contacts, but after today I'm actually excited to wear my new glasses because they couldn't be better! I will be recommending Stanton Optical to all of my family and friends because it was so easy and actually really fun to get glasses! (Who would have thought!) the main number for booking made an appointment for me and when I arrived the appointment had not been made. a return trip was needed for the exam. the exam went fine but when the 2 pair for 69 was shown the frames were terrible which required an upgrade. then it was explained that the lenses were a separate cost....each. 99 dollars apiece, then the photo grey coating was a separate cost again 99 dollars and I said ok again each after it was quoted " oh the photo grey is 99 dollars the each part seemed always to be left out. now I get a call from the call center saying the glasses are ready and I make the trip to the store. sorry they are not ready I will give you a call when they are ready. today I get another call center call saying they are again ready to be picked up. I am not falling for that again and I will wait for a personal call not from the call center. save yourself the hassle and don't fall for the 2 for one or the two for 69 hype. or the oh why yes that's 99 each for the lenses. read more

Ok where to start. I was referred by my daughter who purchased 2 pair glasses for about $70 and had the eye exam done, I think hers were ready the same day. Super inexpensive and excellent quality. I needed a spare set of glasses, so I took a chance and went over. By the way there is a coupon from groupon. Spoke with the optician, Hilary who hooked me up, gave me a super deal, better than the groupon for not one pair but two pair of high index lens, progressive with antiglare with a free eye exam all for dare I say it, under 2 bills. By the way my vision prescription is really high. Hilary has an upbeat positive personality is and very professional. I recommend her. About a week later, went back, this time Marissa, store manager assisted me. Like the previous visit, I was pleased, rechecked the measurements, made the necessary adjustments to my frames and asked if I was satisfied with the purchase, Note: frames included a warranty/insurance.
