When I walked in, it took 10 minutes for staff to even acknowledge that I was at the front desk. I got there at 2pm, my appt was at 2:30pm. I walked around looking for frames. I was called back at 2:40 where they did a 2 minute blow in the eye Check and was told to sit and wait for the Dr. At 3:20 I got up and asked the receptionist, who was rude and doesn't seem to possess any customer services skills at all, I asked her if she knew how much longer it would be. She said, "ummm no, just wait for the dr to be done" and she went back to her conversation with another employee. Finally I was called back at 3:45 to see the Dr., he was nice and seemed knowledgeable, took about 10 minutes. When we got done the woman helping us with frames, lenses, and coating was rude. She was talking to another employee without regard to me sitting there. The 2 for $68 deal was a joke, there were 6 frames to choose from! 6!! It was $342 in total. Oh and the office music selection was Jason Derulo, wiggle, a song saying "what would you do with a big fat butt" are you kidding? Unprofessional! My child shouldn't have to listen to that. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I started doing Business with Stanton optical about a year ago. Kaiser only gives you 1 set of frames and lenses and having a then 3 year old boy, they broke within a week. I went to Stanton because they were close and advertised low prices. After getting a everyday pair and a spare pair with poly-carbonate lenses with the protection plan on both pairs I ended up spending $200-$215. More than I planned, but not the reason for the one star. Fast forward to a week ago when I went with my now 4 year old son to the ophthalmologist to get his 3 month check up. He was having trouble seeing anything during the check up and being naive I thought it was just because he just didn't want to be there. After we did all the cards at different distances, the doctor asked if he could check my sons prescription in his glasses which I thought was weird but why not, it's not like it would be the wrong prescription right? WRONG!!! I had gone roughly 3-4 months earlier and his prescription had changed and I had taken both pairs of his glasses immediately to Stanton to be changed. Apparently there was a "computer error" as I was told which gave him his OLD PRESCRIPTION back instead of his updated one. If you are familiar with myopia he went from -3.25, -3.0 to -3.75 in both eyes. That's a pretty big difference! No wonder he couldn't pass the eye test at Kaiser, he couldn't see! When I went to Stanton to address this, the optician didn't say sorry, that's so awful your son couldn't see, NOTHING!!! All she said was there was a computer error, I got the absolute same response from the manager!!! I never see the same employees twice when I go in and they're already on their 3rd manager in less than a year. Buyer beware, you get what you pay for!!! read more

I was referred by my co worker who just purchased a pair of glasses and he told me to check them out. He said they were inexpensive and had a large selection to choose from. Demetrius greeted me at the door , I was really impressed by his Customer Service and he was the most wonderful and courteous optical clerk I've ever had the pleasure of working with. He understood my style. I usually buy avante garde designer frames(Fendi, Prada,Versace )etc... but he picked out some frames that will work as extra pairs. Demetruis hooked me up, gave me a super deal, for not one pair but two pair of high index lens, progressive with antiglare for $250, progressive lenses prescription is really high in cost. For anyone who is looking for new glasses go check them out first and ask for Demetrius, he will hook you up. read more

I had a terrible experience at Stanton Optical in Santee, CA. 1. Doctor was late for my appointments (myself and my daughter) 2. Doctor preformed very inaccurate and incomplete exams 3. I was told the eye exam was free 4. Not until after the eye exam was I told we had to pay for the exam and then get reimbursed when we made a purchase of glasses 5. Staff was very unprofessional from the greeting when we walked in to neglect in helping us find frames. They spent their time of their cell phones and laughing amongst themselves the majority of time I was there 6. Due to lack of assistance I decided to take my prescription and go elsewhere. I had $700 to spend on my FSA account within 1 day so I was in a time crunch. 7. I was told by the staff that the doctor left and he input my prescription wrong and they could not give it to me 8. The doctor also mixed up our prescriptions so mine was under my daughters name and hers was under my name and they could not correct 9. I requested my prescription emailed to me the following day when it was sorted out and they agreed. 10. I never received my emailed prescriptions for myself and my daughter 11. I have called 6 times requesting to speak to a supervisor. I am asked to hold and no one ever comes back on the phone, stayed on hold 10-20 mins each time. 12. Left a direct message for the supervisor, still no call 13. Contacted customer service, no assistance there and got a promise of a call, no call to this day 14. Emailed the general manager, no response 15. Did a live chat on Stanton's website, they told me to call customer service Final note.....I paid $90 for 2 eye exams that were a joke and got nothing in return. No prescription and they all, from the store staff to customer service to the general manager will not help me. This business scammed me out of $90 and they know it so they will not reply to me. I found a real optometrist and they said they get lots of these stories about Stanton Optical. I have filed complaints with Better Business Bureau and Consumer Affairs. It isn't about the money so much as it is about the principal and how I was ripped off by this business. Do not go here! read more

I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Stanton Santee. A total waste of time and $! I was there primarily to get an exam for eyeglasses and contacts. I arrived on time but the doctor was out to lunch. Then there was confusion on who would do my pretest. The person who started the pretest was unprofessional, and they didn't appear to know how to operate the computer or test equipment. After a few minutes another person took over who had also been out to lunch. My exam then was hurried and the doctor did not check the fit of the new contact lenses. I was then handed off to now a third person who aggressively tried to try to sell me glasses. When I indicated all I wanted was a prescription, I was told I would have to wait for the doctor to sign it, and he had already started the next appointment. I then had to wait 15-20 minutes just to get the prescription signed. When I compare my vision with my old contacts, I can see better with the old pair! I will not be back. Again, a total waste of time and $! read more

Just did an eye exam and purchased some glasses from this place. I had a great experience. I scheduled my appointment online for the same day. When I arrived I was greeted and taken care of right away. They told me to take a few minutes to look at frames while waiting for the doctor. The doctor saw me almost right away. I appreciated the fact that I did not have to wait long. The doctor was very informative and took her time explaining my condition to me and answering any questions I had. After that I took some more time to look at frames. It took me a while to find the perfect ones because I can be a bit picky, but Matthew was very patient with me and helped me look through the whole store to find the perfect frame. Both Matthew and Stephanie were super pleasant and friendly and even stayed to help me a bit after they closed. They got me a great deal as well. I should be able to pick up at least one pair tomorrow. I appreciate their fast service. read more

The staff here all pitched in and did a wonderful job helping me to get 2 new pair of glasses. When I first walked in the OD Tech Jovina greeted me right away and started to prepare me for the free eye exam. Shortly after I was prepped, I saw Dr. Tonnu and she had a willingness to help me and make sure my prescription came out perfect. As I worked with her in my eye exam, I could tell she really knew her job well. After the eye exam I met with Mariela to pick out a good set of frames and proper lenses for me. I looked at a lot of different frames (most of which I picked out ) and the ones I decided to go with are the ones she picked out for me. She has great taste in frame choice and I really love the ones I got. I have been complimented several times on my glasses which is kind of rare. I got some upgraded lenses and knew it was going to be more than usual. With my upgraded lenses, the cost came to a little more than I was expecting, but the management worked with me and got me down to a cost that kept me in my budget. I was very thankful for that. When the glasses came in I met with Marc and he did a great job in helping me to get them adjusted. He also informed me that if I ever needed them readjusted I could come in they would readjust them at no cost. For me that was a terrific service as I will probably need that. All in all I thought the service was outstanding!!! and I would recommend this place to anyone. PS. The glasses I'm wearing in my photo is my old pair. read more

Stanton Optical in Santee, CA, has been a complete disappointment (and I am being very generous) to even give it one star! To summarize, I ordered 3 pairs of glasses early in October of 2018. Four times the lenses we're ground incorrectly. First they were just not ground to the prescription and second, I find out that the doctor sent in a prescription that was not accurate for my eyes. Okay, so we started again by getting another exam so a CORRECT prescription could be sent to their lab. When the third batch of 3 pairs arrived at the store, the lab had not ground them correctly. All three pairs have (as of today, Dec. 18) have been sent back for a the FOURTH time!!! The store manager, Amin, has not returned calls in a timely manner not has he been willing to take this to a higher level, even though I have asked repeatedly for someone at a higher level ..or at least my money back.... (Apparently, that is against company policy)!!! So, I have paid for three pairs of glasses...with no recourse.... I thought I would have my glasses by Halloween 2018...then (at least) by Thanksgiving 2018...and today I learned I will not be getting them until after Christmas 2018!!! An employee at Stanton said the best way to get help is to post my complaint on YELP...since the company policy is not to escalate these matters to upper management... I am beyond disappointed and feel shafted by Stanton. Hope this review will prevent others from having such a pitiful and disgusting experience..... read more

Great experience! Scheduled an appointment online very easily one day before. I was immediately greeted and had no wait time for my exam. Every employee was incredibly friendly, especially Ashely B, who personally helped me decide on glasses when I desperately needed opinions! And my glasses were in my hand 30 minutes later! Could not recommend an optical store higher than Stanton Optical. read more

DON'T DO IT. DON'T BE TEMPTED BECAUSE YOU WANT TO SAVE A BUCK...trust me...YOU WONT!!! DON'T BE TEMPTED BECAUSE YOU'RE IN A HURRY AND RUNNING OUT OF LENSES or for any other reason. All of my reviews are honest, true, & somewhat lengthy. I won't even take the time to go into the myriad of issues I had, the ABSOLUTE WORST BEING THE LURE OF 2 PAIRS OF GLASSES FOR $59, of which I had only a few outdated & unattractive frames to choose from, which was clearly a scam to get you in the door to WEAR YOU DOWN WITH HARD SELL TACTICS TO UPGRADE & PURCHASE THEIR "PLAN", which I unfortunately did. Not only would I never ever go back after initially wasting the time to visit 3 times trying to receive a lens shipment that was not only incorrect, but inexcusably late & one which I never even received a courtesy call on, or to basically BEG for my prescription which, by law, is to be provided without even having to ask for. Additionally, it was NEVER correctly signed in order to purchase lenses elsewhere. Most of my reviews are 4 star, & I waited over 1 year to post this after contacting Stanton once again, a few months ago in order to cool off & give them the benefit of the doubt, which, IMO, they don't deserve. I also waited in hopes of Yelp allowing a no star option which they unfortunately don't. I don't fault the individuals employed here, as they are doing what they're trained to do & management is ultimately responsible. In summary, DON'T DO IT. read more

Came here because my aunt said they have good deals on glasses. I tried some on and picked out two pairs since they have a special buy one get one free. The customer service here could really use some help. I've worked many jobs doing customer service and I know how to treat people and they need some pointers, especially the woman that work there. Major attitude problem! I ended up not liking one of the pairs after I picked them up and looked up their return policy which is 30 days so I took them back about an hour later and said can I please exchange them and the girl that waited on me pointed out to the other girl that "I just picked them up" but that they will "allow it to happen " hhhmmmm ok... I spent some time and found ones I love which is awesome well then I get home and the other pair I got are crooked. Why would they let me leave with obviously a crooked pair? So I will be taking them to another location to have them fixed. The only reason I'm giving this place a 3 star is because the doctor was super nice and helpful and the selection they have. But like I said before the girls need a updated training course on their attitudes and maybe leave it at the door read more

WORST Eyeglass Company In Our City!!! They cant live up to their word on customer service. They cant live up to their word on product delivery. I would never recommend Santee Stanton Optical to anyone. These people in the store have excuse after excuse for why something went wrong. I barely give 5 stars but I think his name was Riley or something had customer service skills that was incredible. He had patience as I searched for hours for my 2 perfect glasses. He also didn't put much pressure on me as I also think they are some sort of salesmen. The place had a great selection of all different brands and style of glasses. I will definitely be bringing my daughter and family members back here. Thanks again Stanton Optical and especially Riley. I lowered the stars rating to 4 because they took up to the very last minute of the 14 days promise to get my glasses done. SMH. I had to threaten to cancel and get refund to speed them up. read more

My initial impression was quite good. The eye exam went well and the techs. who assisted me in picking my frames were quite helpful. I purchased one pair of regular (clear) glasses and one pair of prescription sunglasses. I thought the price was a bit high (over $400.00 with insurance) but I went along with it. I was told that the glasses would be ready in two weeks. I was called at that time and told that a mistake had been made. The clear lenses were put in the sunglass frames and the polarized lenses had been put into my regular frames. I was told I would have to wait another two weeks while they corrected the issue. I was not happy but human error does occur. Later that day I received a call informing me that one pair of glasses was ready! I went into the store and it turned out to be a false alarm. They comp'ed me one of the mistake pairs of glasses and supposedly re-ordered both pairs of lenses in the correct frames. I asked them if they could expedite the order and was told they could not and it would take another two weeks. Here we are two weeks later and I called them up. I was told by Demetrius that the order now wouldn't be ready for another five days. My blood-pressure shot up about 50 points at this point and I told them how dissatisfied I was. I was then called back by the manager Chris who told me that my sunglasses were in fact ready, but that my regular glasses HAD NOT BEEN ORDERED! It will be 6-weeks from the time I got my eye exam until I finally get both pair of glasses. I would rather go blind than get glasses at Stanton Optical again. You can best believe that I will tell everyone I know the same thing! I must amend this review a bit. I picked-up my sunglasses yesterday and the general manager Chris bent over backwards to rectify the situation. He even offered two pair of glasses for the price of one on any frames in the store, which I took him up on. It does not make-up for the overall experience, but it's a start! read more

Wife broke her glasses, went in and they quickly repaired the glasses at no charge. Can't beat that deal.

Came in a week after their grand-opening but it didn't seem that way. I dealt with Jerry and Marissa and they were very generous with the discounts they offered. I was able to walk out of their with a few extra goodies on my glasses without paying an arm and a leg for it. They even got both my pair of glasses done two days before the expected date. I was very happy with the service I received here and will be going back for my future glasses needs. read more

Initially I had posted an excellent review for one of the associates (Demetrius), that assisted me at this location because he requested that I do that for him to let everyone know what great customer service he provided. I posted an honest and great review because at that time he did provide great customer service. However, I called in earlier this week to request a copy of my receipt for services rendered at that location for expense filing purposes. I had called earlier in the afternoon and gave him my information to which he said he wrote down. He mentioned that he would email me my receipt after he finished up with two customers that he was working with. I was perfectly fine with that and I said thank you. two hours went by and I still have not received my receipt which I needed to print out before I left work for the day. So I called in again and requested the receipt. He kept asking me for my information over and over again repeatedly as if he wasn't listening to what I had already told him. Then proceeded to tell me that there was no one by that name in their system. So I asked verbatim.."ate you saying that you don't have record of the patients that you see in your facility?" He immediately came back with saying that I was getting aggressive with him and that we weren't going to get anywhere with me acting like that. Excuse me?? I simply asked a question and that's how I got responded to?? Is that anyway to treat someone who is a paying customer? So I guess the only thing that some of the employees care about is getting great reviews for their initial contact with a new customer but then when that same customer need something later down the road, it's suddenly is a big inconvenience for them. I will not be referring anyone to this location or be giving my future business to this location. I've been in the customer service industry for several years and one thing you do is not ridicule or approach your customers in such a negative way. Your relationship with customers and clients continues and doesn't end just because you made a sale. read more

My husband brought our middle son in with his prescription for reading glasses. My son loved his experience and I went back with him to pick them up. The staff is very nice, even when there was a rude customer that barged in and demanded that someone needs to help her and fix her glasses. I told the young guy who was helping my son fit his glasses, that he can help her, more just to get her out of there. He got someone else to help that rude customer. So I have never had my eyes checked, ever, today I finally did it. The young ladies there were awesome. My insurance covered more than half and they were excited that my insurance covered more than 60% so they told me to get the high end frames since it covered so much. I just went with a cute frame and then got prescription sunglasses too. Im never without my sunglasses. I will definitely recommend them to family and friends. read more

Great doctor, extremely pushy sales team. They tried to hustle me for $436 when the promotion was for buy one get one free glasses and free eye exam. And they will make you pay upfront immediately after the eye exam $45 and then try not to credit you the $45 towards the insane amount they try to charge you for glasses. I still ended up pay $150 dollars out the door just to get them to stop trying to sell me on whatever bullshit they were pushing. I should have payed $120 out the door according to the promotion because my more expensive glasses were only $109. Like I said... the doctor was great and super informative but then you are sent out to be at the mercy of people clearly trained in sales and marketing. I feel bad for anyone who pays an insane amount like $400 dollars just because they don't know the price is based on what they think they can get out of you. My friend also went here and experienced the same thing. I recommend going to Walmart or Costco instead. And I will never be returning to Stanton optical. read more

I loved my experience with this company. Granted it's right before Christmas and I lost my driving glasses. I needed a new pair pronto and also didn't want to mortgage my house or wait weeks to get them. I also wanted something cute and that seldom happens when your rushing. I have to preface that I started out at the Murphy Canyon location with Amber and James. These two were troopers running the location in a courteous, expedient manner, helping lots of customers but they did not have a lab in store to get my glasses quick. They did sell me frames - which I fell in love with - the selection is amazing. I saw this at both locations. With no lab - James and Amber directed me to the Santee. I can not say enough how much I enjoyed my visit to the Santee store. These are all young people but respectful, knowledgeable. I cannot say enough. I did have my prescription and my frames but I was out of there in a half hour and fell in love with all of them. Super helpful! I cannot recommend Destinee, Jonathan and Michelle enough. I will surely return the next time I need glasses. read more
