It was our first time here and the reason that brought us here because of the points i had and needed to spend before expires next week , there was confusing and complication to use points but There was a gentleman name Lukas who was helping us out and sort thru the problems with kindness and welcoming, thank you for that. Our server Kristina was very attentive and nice , now food... i order south west salad which is delicious and light with some spice in it then followed by cajun prawns linguini oh my what can i say ... very flavourful very rich and creamy it has a right amount of everything I enjoyed this dish and very satisfy and my husband got prime rib dip with a side of tomato bisque. I have been to Stanford's a few times and I enjoy the food and the atmosphere. Our most recent visit I used my birthday reward (reward program through parent company Restaurants Unlimited...same company that also owns Scott's in Edmonds and Palominos in Seattle). I got a bacon blue cheese burger. I asked for medium and it arrived well done and missing the bacon. But the waiter quickly grabbed some bacon and the burger was good if overcooked. The fries were delicious. The hubby got an item off the specials menu - a tomahawk pork chop and he loved it. We finished with a skillet chocolate chip cookie and it was yummy. read more

The patio is great, the server is nice and prompt, but the well cocktails seem overpriced and not listed on the menu, so you would have the uncomfortable job of asking. Also, ordering the fancy craft margarita that was on the menu would have been a dollar cheaper! read more

Okay, there are so many things about this place. First of all, most of the bad reviews for this place are the money. Which I guess is a bit of a downside, but it's fancy so what do you expect? Ok now to the more important part, THE FOOD IS AMAZING. I literally have never had better food like ever, it is my destination whenever I am in Washington. This place has the best entrees, and appetizers, and desserts. It's all so perfect and it's so good, like, if you go there you have to try the stuffed mushrooms on the appetizers!!!! These are almost like a full meal, and I didn't even like mushrooms before I had these. Now I love them and these are just way too good. So yes, 5 stars all the way!!!! I got the tacos and thought it was quite tasty. I can't remember the specifics as it's been awhile, but it was good -- get it. So, why the three stars? Well, because I wasn't really happy with the service. My waiter seemed to be in a bad mood, and I get it, stuff happens, but it rubbed off a bit on my good day. He seemed to perk up right at the end -- um, tipping time -- but that just came off worse. I still tipped, because he wasn't deliberately icky. He was just unenthusiastic and did not check in like he should have. Bottom line: Maybe it was an off night for my server, but one star off even if the food (and ambiance) are just fine. read more

Decided to stop here and have a late lunch. I was cold and have been craving coffee drinks. So, asked the waitress for recommendations. She suggested two choices. She came back and said they were out of the liquor to make the drinks. So I went with an Irish coffee. She came back with my drink after about 15 minutes. And it was lukewarm. Sat for another ten minutes and she took it back to warm it up. I ordered the beef barley soup, which was good. Ordered the steak frites lunch. When it arrived, it was cold. The frites were passably warm, but not hot. Another 15 minutes wait and the server took my steak off the plate to heat it up. It came back slightly warm, but now it is well done. Another 15 minutes wait. She offered to make me a new steak. I'm starving now and have been waiting 45 minutes for my food since ordering. A cook came by the personally deliver a warm steak after another 15 minutes. Had to go now after a few bites, late for my appointment. Ask for a box and my bill. Yes, another long wait. All of this was unfortunate. Cannot recommend coming here if you like good service and hot food. read more

My daughter had the beet spinach salad, my son had the cheeseburger and my boyfriend had the top sirloin with mash potato and green beans. I live the baked Brie and some things on the menu. The crab cakes seem like they're store bought and just heated up and thrown on a plate. They have some good alcoholic drinks but not much on the menu and wish they'd add some things. It's nice they're open until 11 pm so it's a nicer place that's open later. read more

Stopped in after a day in Seattle looking for a good meal, we found one!!! We got seated right away and our sever Michael was at our table in a minute or less. He was very nice and explained everything to us. We started with the calamari which was excellent and a large portion. The dipping sauce was good and spicy. We ordered the cod fish and chips and the 1/2 rack of ribs. The food came out in good time and was nice and hot. The fish tasted fresh and the batter was not to thick and was cooked just right. The half rack of ribs were a good portion size along with cole slaw and fries. The ribs fell off the bone and had a nice char on them. They tasted great and there was si much fries and slaw I could not eat it all. For dessert we had the bourbon bread pudding. OMG. It literally melted in your mouth. The pudding was hot with a heaping scoop of vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce and granola. This was the highlight of the night. We had a great time and will be back. read more

Had Prime Rib Sandwich with onions and horseradish with horseradish sauce and half house salad. I could not tell that horseradish was on the sandwich. A lot of fat on the Prime Rib and hard to tell it was Prime Rib. The salad was very good with a variety of items but supposed to be dressed with ranch dressing. There was au jus on plate which was mediocre, and a white sauce. Waiter Grant did not identify it it was salad dressing or horseradish so I did not know and put some on my salad. I could finish all and asked for a box. The one brought was too small and everything did not fit in the box. After I requested, Grant brought me a container for au jus but he did not see I was out of au jus so I requested more. He brought me more. read more

I normally don't like to leave a negative review, but I feel people should know up front what they are paying for. My dinner was salmon with a honey Dijon glaze, and it was excellent. My husband ordered short ribs, and was disappointed as it tasted like pot roast. And our server was great, very friendly and personable. My main gripe is the living wages added to our bill. I don't understand why we are getting this extra charge. Are we not already paying their wages just by eating here? We had a 7:15pm reservation. At 8pm, we still had not been seated, so snagged a booth in the bar once one opened up. The service was great so give credit to their staff. The food was mediocre though. BBQ sauce was runny and too sweet. Coleslaw was absolutely disgusting. The real reason for the one star review was because of the "living wage surcharge" added to our bill. It's a 2.55% charge that goes to the house - none of it goes to staff. Their reasoning for adding it on top of Seattle's regular tax is to help cover the costs of Seattle's minimum wage increases. I get that the minimum wage increase will eventually get to $15/hr, but we are not there yet. In the meantime, I won't be returning to this restaurant. read more

Stanford's happy hour was more memorable the second time around. Was it the food or different circumstances? Either way, it was pleasant and worth the second try. This time, I sat in a booth in the bar and waited for my friend, who ended up being 30 minutes late due to traffic. Our server, Serena, did well to check on me during that time and not make me feel like an inconvenience. I enjoyed the Ginger Pear cocktail and carried on a texting conversation with my date who was stuck and every five minutes promised, "just five more minutes." I tend to be that girl who can't decide on menu items anyway, so the wait gave me time to settle on our order which we placed as soon as the traffic gods relented. The turn-around was swift and our hunger satisfied. Sweet potato fries, buttermilk fried chicken strips with honey mustard dressing, and the Wood-Fire Grilled BBQ Chicken Quesadilla were the way to our hearts that night. SETUP The drinks are cheap - try a rum & coke for $3 - and the bartenders are highly entertaining if not knowledgable about all things to do with soccer or cricket! ;^D THE MENU They have a respectable menu that includes burgers (which after eating dinner with little old women portions at 4:30pm (for the proverbial blue light special at the retirement home cafeteria), I REALLY can appreciate a great cheeseburger and fries by 9:30-10pm! I am not a fan of chain restaurants but their happy hour was decently priced and the food was up to par. I finally revisited this restaurant after two years. Sadly, I feel like it's really gone downhill due to the decline from their quality of food. PROS: Ambiance: Happy Hour is only available in the bar/lounge area. Large bar area with many booths and high tables. The booths are pretty comfortable. Service: I came on a Wednesday night and it wasn't busy at all so we got seated right away. Our waitress (I forgot her name) was great, she was very attentive and friendly. Our food and drink order came out VERY fast. Our water and drinks were being refilled many times throughout the meal. CONS: Price/Menu: Their prices had recently increased. The chicken strips went from $4.50 to now $7.50. They also discontinued a few items as well. FOOD: We ordered the Southwest Nachos, Steakhouse Cheeseburger Sliders, French Bread Pepperoni Pizza, French Fries and Mac N' Cheese. Mac N' Cheese: Probably the best thing that we had. Good portion size. Perfect amount of cheese and bacon. Fries: Good. Hard to ruin fries. The dipping sauces were good. Nachos: The tortilla chips were fresh. The diced grilled chicken was alright, a little on the dry side. The fire roasted tomato salsa just okay, it didn't taste very fresh. The white cheddar sauce killed the nachos. The sauce was very watery and bland which turned everything into a soggy mess. Cheeseburger Sliders: The patty was a decent size, juicy and flavorful. However, the crispy onion rings were very oily. French Bread Pizza: Worst thing that we ordered. The bread was stale and soggy and the tomato sauce tasted like it came straight from a can. Came here for a party of 8 with reservations. Love that there is ample parking and it's right off the freeway. This place is nothing spectacular but it has a nice, relaxing vibe. The hostess was super friendly and seated us a bit early. Our waitress was very accommodating to the various dietary restrictions and food/drinks were brought out in order and on time. Overall we had a good experience but I probably won't be back. It's your standard bar & grill menu with steaks, a few seafood options, nothing too impressive. I came here for dinner while on a date, and we had a great experience all around. I had been to Stanford's in Tukwila, but not this location. This was my date's first time at the restaurant. I ordered steak, and he had chicken. Our entrees came out piping hot, with great quality and presentation. Our waiter was fantastic. He introduced himself, made sure we had everything we needed without rushing us and kept the drinks flowing and cleared plates without having to ask us. He was there when we needed him and gone when we were engrossed in conversation. I'd like him to train other waiters and waitresses on that point. So many of them don't know when to interrupt or what to do without asking. I don't remember much of the atmosphere since I was focused on my date and the food, which was really good! What I do remember is that our booth had dark brown leather, it was comfortable, and the arrangement of it was great so that we had some privacy and it kept the noise level around us down a bit. The ambiance fit a steakhouse ambiance which was right on, and everything was clean. The parking area by Stanford's is small but it's located next to the mall which has a lot of parking. I have always knows Stanford's existed but had never been compelled to actually try it. A client wanted to meet for lunch in Northgate and this looked like the best place available so we tried it. Service was decent and the server was very knowledgable about the menu. We asked quite a few questions. In fact 2 of us went with his recommendation. I always get a prime rib dip or variation of it when I try an American fare restaurant for he first time. Au jus was great. Bread was toasted and the meat was higher quality and tasty. I get put through nothing but voicemail but then it says the voicemail is full and they don't know how to pick up the phone and when I go in there everybody's just sitting around not doing anything so it makes no sense. read more

Convenient location. Just right off exit 173, walking distance to northgate mall. I usually go here for happy hour. I enjoy bacon pepper mac and cheese, spinach /artichoke dip and onion ring with ribs. Most of these items are very filling on its own.Pretty affordable to try new appetizers during this happy hour time. I like the ambience here , the bar is surrounded by booths and does not feel crowded or too loud. Friendly staff as well. I started writing a review and realized it was really long. Long story short this place is NOT consistent. Go for happy hour if it's your first time. I wouldn't recommend this place for non-happy hours for your first visit solely because of consistency. For my explanation on why continue reading below. I am 50/50 about this place. Under yelp guidelines it is considered moderate ($11-$30) for pricing. However if you look at the meal overall. Most steak dinners (not counting fancy steak restaurants) that cost 25-30 dollars come with a salad at least. But I come back to this place. The happy hour is great. If this is your first time coming here. I'd recommend coming for happy hour first. I've had multiple good experiences, but I've also had multiple bad experiences. So it leaves me 50/50. Once half a year to a year ago or so, we've sat down for 45-60 minutes waiting for our food to come after we ordered. They weren't super busy. And the waitress, waiters and even manager came over to ask if we needed anything else and asked if were ready for the check yet. OUR FOOD HAVEN"T EVEN COME YET!!!! And each time we told them our food hasn't come yet all they can say is i'm sorry we will check on it. Five minutes later, ask us the same dang question if we were ready for our check yet. I ordered a prime rib. I've had prime rib countless of time. I know what prime rib looks like. They served me a tiny dry piece of sirloin. The manager was ridiculously frustrating to talk to. He was not helpful and irritating because he made it seem like it was our fault when all we did was sit down and order. We didn't even yell or complain to the staff. Then I've had an experience where our food was served timely and tasted amazing. The prime rib and salmon was cooked perfectly. The portion size was amazingly big. The dessert was lacking a bit but it was ok cause the prime rib and salmon was amazing. I order the same thing every time I come. Prime rib and salmon combo. And each time it looks or tastes different. The raspberry crush alcoholic drink is really tasty and has a good amount of alcohol in it. The grilled portobello mushroom is really good as well. Went to Stanford's on a Saturday evening. It wasn't too crowded, about 4 other couples seated In our section. While waiting for the waiter, I noticed the couple in front of us getting agitated. The male customer stopped the hostess and told her to get their waiter because the wanted to checkout because they have been waiting too long and had not gotten their food yet. That prompted me to order soon because I didn't want the same happening to us. Our appetizer came and we haven't been served our water or drinks we ordered yet. Then our main dishes came, it looked good but didn't taste great. It was okay. I read the Yelp reviews on this place before going and they weren't impressive, but went anyways to check it out. I wished I listen to the reviews and chose a different place to eat that night. Don't think we will be going there again. read more

So after receiving a comp card from the manager for the atrocity that was our last visit we headed back in, less 4 people, for dinner. We had Heather for our waitress this time and she was amazing. She immediately brought out a cheese bread and grape snack for the kiddos, was attentive, and just all around great. My only gripes this time around is that my steak salad came with steak that was far too rare to eat. In the past they asked how I wanted my meat - this time she didn't, so I didn't send it back, just pushed it aside and ate the salad. Also, the rootbeer is in the bottle, not on tap, only the don't tell you this when you order it. The kids' menu says that a soda is included with their meal, but apparently this doesn't include rootbeer. When I asked Heather about it she explained and was happy to remove it from the check. In the end - Heather saved Stanfords in our eyes. If she hadn't provided this top notch service we wouldn't have returned in the future.
