I've picked up Stanford's to go through pandemic but recently ate on the patio with a friend since we're all vaccinated. We both have some tricky dietary restrictions and the staff was very patient and accommodating with us. I don't consume gluten because it triggers AI symptoms but I'm not celiac. So fair warning the au jus in the prime rib isn't gluten free but the entire meal isn't a gluten bomb. My friend has a severe reaction to onions and the kitchen made sure to season her steak with regular salt instead of the steak salt which has onion in it. We did a dessert cheat and she had the cheesecake, I got the flourless chocolate cake and it was divine. read more

Celebrated Mother's Day and an early birthday celebration for my mom at Stanford's on 5/12. My mom and my siblings and our extended family had a great time. Our server was attentive and came around often to make sure we had enough water and had everything we needed. There were 18 of us in our party and she managed our table like a true professional. They do need to put the hot Coconut, Macadamia Nut, Chocolate Cookie served in a skillet with ice cream on the menu however. I travel from California when I visit, and I am thinking of this dessert weeks in advance. Hopeful they. Will have it available. This visit, they did not have it, and we were greatly disappointed! But my husband and I had an errand near here and Stanford's seemed like a nice place to pop in for lunch--esp. since I am disabled and they had ample Handicapped Parking right in front of the entry. They have a really pleasant looking outdoor eating area in front, but we chose to eat inside. Food was so good! He had a club sandwich and a bowl of Chicken Curry Soup. I had a burger and a cup of Salmon Chowder. Really tasty and good. Place is very pleasant. Prices seemed a little high, but I guess eateries are charging more everywhere. At least the food was well worth it and the service was also A+!!! Really excellent server. Funny-- we are 70 yr olds and I use a walker. While eating we noticed about 8 other people with either canes of walkers coming in to eat.. so I guess it is a popular place for an older crowd. But there were plenty of young people too. read more

Stanford's been here for awhile and we were never regulars until COVID-19 happened. The menu has been streamlined and it's perfect. We usually have the calamari for starters, then our main course, and if we have room for dessert. Honestly- We love this place. It's one of the only full service restaurants that is not ethnic food in this area. I love Chinese, Indian , Thai , Vietnamese sushi etc but sometimes I appreciate burgers, fish&chips etc. and Stanford's hits the mark every time!! I love their fish and chips and Caesar salad with a mac& Jack beer, perfect meal. Every time I come here it is excellent. Craig, is usually our waiter and he is observant kind professional and quick! My aunt wanted to take me out for a nice lunch, and we had planned to go somewhere else, but that place was packed. So, being in the neighborhood, we decided to try Stanford's for the first time. The prices were a bit ridiculous for lunch, with few good choices (A $17 dollar BLT, or $20 something dollar chicken strips? Get out of here, aren't you supposed to be fine dining?) but I thought perhaps it would make up for it by being a quality steak. They bill themselves as a steakhouse, right? I ordered the steak frites (at $29.00, claiming to be a NY Strip), and it was absolutely terrible. I ordered medium rare and got a thin, gray slab of gristly, overcooked, unseasoned steak. There was near zero char, it was completely gray like it had been steamed instead of grilled, with not a hint of pink in sight. Without any char, the fat on the steak was just blobby and disgusting. The "frites" were 5 steak fries, with some of them broken in half? Why? Why have mutilated fries? I was starved, so I sadly ate my gristly, dry, flavorless piece of shoe leather and smooshed, greasy fries. My aunt got one of the steak dip sandwiches, and said it was just ok. No flavor. She said the lavender lemonade was really good though. Some people would say to send the food back, but honestly, we didn't think it would come out any better the second time, so we just finished up and left. $80+ dollars for the worst lunch I've ever had, not including tip. The place was practically empty (which should have been a clue), but it took forever to get seated. And while we left a generous tip, the service was nearly non-existent (the the wait staff was polite and nice, we just never got the chance for drink refills, and were never asked how the food was, and weren't offered condiments for the fries, etc.). We waited quite a long time to get seated despite being the only ones waiting to be seated, and when my aunt (who is disabled and struggles to stand, so it was hard to stand there so long and there wasn't any seating) went to ask at the bar about the wait time, the lady she spoke with was pretty harsh and said huffily "Just wait, she'll be back soon." I was so incredibly disappointed, and angered at the way my sweet auntie was treated. I'd give zero stars if it was possible. read more

I had the salmon in lemon chive cream sauce, and honestly it was just ok. The sauce was bland, like I didn't even detect any lemon, and the piece of salmon itself was also a little disappointing. The mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts were REALLY good, though. Salad was pretty good, as well. I wouldn't get the salmon again, but the sides were so good that I think maybe I just chose the wrong entree, or it may just have been an off night. Curbside service was nice - def appreciate all the pandemic safety precautions they're taking. The main entree was only 3 stars for me, but I'm adding an extra star because the sides and curbside service were great. read more

Love their signature Stanford's Mac n Cheese! There's bacon & like 3 different cheeses in it. Mmmm mmm good! Prices are a bit higher than your average restaurant, but then again the portions are a lot bigger too. I take my left overs home and they normally last me for 3 meals. They have a good happy hour too. HH is daily 3-6pm and 9-close, on Sundays all day. Happy Hour prices are pretty sweet and portions are just perfect for a single portion. Visually appealing dishes, okay service, incorrect meat temp. order, mediore dishes. Our table ordered 3 different steaks, we asked for 2 medium and 1 medium-well. The medium well came well done and the medium came medium rare. We had 9 people and not everyone was happy with their dishes. They kept asking if we liked the food and we really didn't want to complain. Our server was very direct and edgy also. Not that hospitable. We waited for quite a while to order. The restaraunt wasn't full and we already finished our appetizers before we could order and waited even more for the entree food. Half of our table was native spanish speakers and didn't understand english perfectly, it was obvious. They asked about tea and the server listed the teas really fast and chuckled asking if they even knew what the teas were. Then the server asked for ID when my boyfriend ordered a drink, stared at the ID and asked his brthdate which was weird, we never got that before from a server. I have my alcohol serving permit and you don't need to ask birthdates to assure legal drinking age when you have an ID. Overall, the food was okay. Was not blown away. JUST WOW!!! This place is so amazing. Incredible customer service! I went here for my birthday on Monday 8/22 and received the most amazing customer service ever right when I entered the door! The host ( did not get a chance to get her name ) greeted us and was extremely friendly and made conversation and politely sat me and my gf at our table. She sat us at a huge table even if it was just for 2 which was delightful. Our server Brandy then approached us and started it off with recommending some drinks and appetizers to start. We ordered mozzarella sticks and the cheese bread to start, along with some drinks. Corona and a lavender cosmo cock tail! Lavender cosmo cock tail was AMAZING 10/10 recommend! We ordered our food a rib eye w/ a side of asparagus and a fully loaded baked potato. The steak and asparagus were seasoned and cooked to perfection! My gf got the Cajun pasta and was absolutely fantastic as well definitely will recommend this place to anyone! Then our server offered us a spectacular crème brûlée for dessert and just blew the entire evening away. This experience has been nothing but amazing. Pro: Quick to be seated, friendly staff and helpful on suggestions. Nice family atmosphere. It does have a bar w/TVs. Reasonable prices, and interesting selections. Good appetizers and burgers! Con: Could take some time to find a parking spot, because the parking lot is shared with a mall and other stores. Our food was cold and my grilled cheese, the cheese and it was not melted at all and my dad sandwich was freezing cold you want to take a star away from you guys but will leave that up to yelp. From my 6 year old. She was not exaggerating. I'm not sure how you don't melt the cheese on a grilled cheese sandwich but his establishment made it possible. The chicken on my sandwich was apparently supposed to be reheated but met the same sub standards as the grilled cheese but at an inflated $23 price. The wait staff was great and sympathetic with the sub par food and was quick to make it correct on the bill. It almost seemed routine but hard to confirm. The heat in this place was obviously not working especially in the bathroom and when I told them I was informed that it's been like that for 3 days. We started with salads which weren't included with our main entrees, but they were crisp and cool and I love the fact that they used eggs!! He got the full rack of ribs and a house salad, which he loved and the ribs were falling off the bones. I got the ribeye with a house salad and the ribeye was juicy and perfectly cooked, the best steak I've had in Seattle so far and I love steaks and my husband loves ribs. This place is ideal for a quick happy hour drop in - though it may not happen so quickly because it's always packed at around 5:30pm and there are usually only two bartenders/servers rushing about. The drinks are delectable and the food is about on par with my personal favorite (Mama Stortini's) in the Northgate Mall, so they have that going for them. Now the ambiance leaves a little something to be desired. It is fancy, in the way that I imagine an old boys club cigar bar would be in downtown Chicago -- dark, even on the sunniest of summer days. It has an expensive feel, and almost makes you believe you aren't in a mall parking lot. However, prices are reasonable and the food comes out within about 15 minutes of ordering. This restaurant is part of the group that includes Cutters down in Pike's Place and a few others around town. I don't think I'm ever dressed nice enough when I go to Northgate to sit in the dining room, so happy hour is where I'll remain! Last time I was here I had the crab sliders and the person with me had another meat slider dish. We agreed that the buns they used were a little dry, and the slaws that came with both items were wilted looking and not the freshest...all of these together made for a just an "okay" meal. My crab cakes were very similar tasting to the ones at MS, besides the bun. We shared a salad that was decent and made it out of there at about $14 each. Not too shabby. read more

Really disappointed... - The most expensive menu is the Filet Mignon and it tasted like rubber because it was cooked well-done even though I asked for medium rare. No apologies from the waitress and says they'll cook it again. The manager comes out with the dish and again no apologies but bluntly says "Do you mind cutting the steak through to make sure we got it right this time?." I mean what kind of service is this...honestly. - Waitress was very blunt and never came by except when she had to take our orders. The customer doesn't care about Stanford's Corp. nonsense. If there are gift cards with Stanford's name on it you have to by law honor them. Secondly, I feel your business needs attention to customer service. Your manager treated my family poorly. He made us feel like we were in the wrong for wanting to use the Stanford gift card. Your apology means nothing. I would like a do over if you are sincere. Ambiance was fine and the food was great. We took an almost full $40 bottle of wine back to our hotel in a paper bag. The waitress didn't do a good job of tightening the bottle. It leaked on the seat of or car rental. Then the bag ripped open from the leaking wine. The bottle smashed on the cement floor in the hotel parkade. We ended up on our hands and knees picking up glass. Suggestion: check the lid and use plastic bags. read more
