The steak perfectly cooked as ordered, fluffy mashed potatoes, deliciously seasoned brussels sprouts, excellent kids sliders bigger than most, no soggy french fries. Kids Mac n cheese is the real deal. Good-sized portions on everything. And, the deserts, oh my gosh, the warm apple crisp and the creme brûlée tasted heavenly enough for two. Stanford's is one of our most favorite restaurants in Seattle. The restaurant itself reminds me of the big, spacious steakhouses in Texas I grew up going to on all of my special occasions. It's always a great dining experience, but the last time was really something that we will always remember. At the end of our meal, we mentioned to our server that we were celebrating our daughter's "transplant birthday" after being 8 years cancer free (she's 10 now). Our server goes away and comes back to let us know we are getting free dessert which was really awesome. Then, a minute later, the manager comes over and says our entire meal is covered. We've never had anything like that happen for our family. My wife got teary eyed which is rare. It was amazing. We found out at the end of the meal so we had already done a lot of damage financially and would have probably controlled ourselves more if we had known. I created the Yelp account just for this. I wish I could support this restaurant more. We go there probably once a month. They are great people that work there. Environment's great. Service is exceptional. The food is perfect. We recommend the lavender cosmos, huge house salads, fried calamari, cheese bread, lemon chive steelhead, and steakhouse prime dip, but it's all good. Thank you Stanford's! We just had a family group of 8 here. It was wonderful. Quiet enough to visit. Variety in menu so everyone was happy. Excellent food. Nice wine list. Very attentive service. Cocktails, bottles of wine, appetizers, entrees, dessert for 8 was under $600. I think that is reasonable. I would definitely select this for a nice group dinner again. read more

First time here, love the ambiance and service as a first impression. But what my companion and I really did enjoy was the food. He got the prime rib sandwich and I got their "half & half" lunch (crab artichoke sandwich and salmon chowder) and we both really enjoyed our experience. I will be back next time! read more

We went here Saturday night with a party of 8. I wish I would of got our server's name. He said he had been in the industry for 33 years. He was phenomenal! He was having fun and it showed. He made us feel relaxed and help decide drink and dinner items. He was funny, warm, sincere and caring. A true great and fun experience!! I did not get any pictures of my sirloin steak but is was incredibly delicious!! The potatoes and Mac and cheese I had with were so delicious too! The raspberry lemon drop and the dirty Shirley I ordered was soooo good! Our server had never heard of that drink and he made sure it came out right. The fish tacos had good halibut and the salsa and avocado spread were really excellent. In fact, the fish pieces were as big as the corn tortilla. This was by far the star of the show. All day happy hour on Sunday, good quality drinks and basic happy hour food. The breading on the chicken strips is crisp and full of flavor. The fries have an amazing seasoning salt. The downside though it is a very greasy appetizer/meal to the point that it can be harder to enjoy. The service was friendly and attentive. Decor is pretty dated and in need of touch up- hopefully the new owner will help to make this an even better place to enjoy a meal. Their prime rib is amazing, their French dip is certainly noteworthy, their burger is good for a burger and priced at about the same as other Seattle restaurants. Every time I have had their soup it has been great and they give a generous portion and their salads are decent. Is it a destination? No, but do I love ordering delivery prime rib on a lazy Sunday? Uh yeah, and for prime rib it's honestly pretty reasonably priced to order it out. read more

I like this place for takeout, but not for dining in. The lighting is really weird and gave me a migraine within 5-10 minutes. We left as soon as I realized what was happening. I get migraines about once/month, and lighting is rarely bad enough to trigger one. I'm sure some ppl wouldn't even notice, but it's horrible for anyone with light sensitivity. Lots of people are prone to migraines; really should soften up that lighting. Replacing the ceiling bulbs with a soft tone would be a really cheap and easy way to greatly improve this restaurant. read more

For some reason, this place gets a bad rep and I just don't know why. It's my local area, and every time I go it's super clean, super fast, and the service has always been excellent. My favorite item is the Steak Tips. Yum!! And don't you dare leave without trying their "infamous" garlic cheese bread. Even ordering for delivery, they take the time to package and neatly prepare everything and you get some fancy shmansy cutlery! read more

This is a true case of "go check it out to form your own opinion" type of situation! Arrived on a Saturday around lunchtime, it wasn't busy, so I was seated by the host right away with menu's while I waited for my server. The server arrived instantly with water, and after reading through the menu, I decided on the calamari appetizer, and Wagyu beef burger (with added peppered bacon). My food came pretty quickly since it wasn't busy - firstly, the calamari were fantastic! They were lightly breaded, and just the right about of chewiness. Not a bit of greasiness in sight. It came with 2 dipping sauces, and was a perfect appetizer. I ordered my Wagyu burger medium rare, and they truly delivered! The burger was absolutely amazing! It oozed cheese, and the peppered bacon was thick and a fabulous addition. The side of fries was the right amount, and lovely and crisp. I also grabbed a glass of wine, and the server kept my water topped up. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the food, and friendliness of the staff here. Everything was very fresh, and plentiful, so I had lots of leftovers to take home. It definitely feels pricey than most other places in the Northgate mall area, but given the preparation of the food, I would pay for the great quality! I ordered a meal to go as currently indoor eating is limited due to COVID. I ordered the roasted chicken with garlic mashed potatoes and a seasonal vegetable. The chicken was well seasoned and tender, falling off the bone. Mashed potatoes are my favorite and the vegetable was roasted brussel sprouts. I like this place and have enjoyed their food and beer offerings. Happy hour savings are meager though (ex. $1 off beer?). Food is tasty with fresh ingredients and elegant preparation. However, portions are quite modest. Examples include the plate of truffle fries and the side salads which are tiny. I wouldn't mind if the prices matched the portions, but those are pretty high. So my rating is mainly based on value - which is important to people during these inflationary times. read more

Stanford's is normally an exceptional experience but things have changed recently. They're attention to detail has fallen off. On multiple occasions we've ordered via DoorDash and everything always arrived as requested and always hot. Lately, order customization has fallen off. Requesting an alternate side from the menu, a vegetable, and it not arriving. Ordered prime rib which comes with au jus and horseradish, and those items not showing up, multiple times. It is not the job of DoorDash to ensure everything is in the delivery. Whoever is packing the meals for delivery is failing big time. The last time I drove to the restaurant and asked for the missing items, sad. Please have someone review all orders for accuracy and completeness before they leave the kitchen/restaurant. Thanks. Sadly when it came to New Year's resolutions we gave up Stanfords for January and February. read more

We came to Stanfords for a family birthday dinner, and they were great. They got us seated in a corner to help with my dad's hearing issues, took care of us throughout the dinner, and then gave out birthday cards to all three birthday people at the end of the evening. I come here every couple of months for lunch. They have a great server, Heidi, and we always ask for a table in her station. She takes great care of her customers. The food is usually pretty good and the fresh sheet dishes are always yummy. The problem is the prices. Twenty-six bucks for a lunch special is ridiculous. You can sometimes find a reasonable option on the fresh sheet menu, but the other day I had a salmon dish that was seventeen and the size was that of a regular appetizer. Common folks, you're not a high end, downtown restaurant. You're in the parking lot of the Northgate Mall for goodness sake. read more
