We went to dinner on a Monday evening. Had half rotisserie chicken, and a mushroom burger with chicken curry soup. We also had an iced tea ans a cherry rickie. The food came quickly, was piping hot and very well seasoned. The chicken was tender and falling off the bone. The price is reasonable for two (honestly we ate at IHOP in the morning on the same day and the bill was identical). Highly recommend. read more

For what it's worth, the service and ambiance were nice here. The food was just disappointing. The wife and I both had steaks (filet & NY strip). Both steaks were overcooked, the filet significantly overcooked. I found my steak to be under seasoned. The Bearnaise sauce was overly lemony and just not good. Of note, sides of asparagus, Brussels sprouts, and Mac n cheese were all good. The mashed potatoes had an odd lemon flavor to them as well. I hate saying it because I really enjoy local, but I feel like the Outback would have been a better option at about 40% of the price. Oh, one last thing, the salmon chowder wasn't bad. read more

I tried Stanford's at Northgate via a Yelp perk. I bought an extra meal for my wife as well. Due to the pandemic, we ordered ahead and drove up to their clearly identified curbside pickup area to get our food. We never had to leave the car. I had the Cabernet Steak Tips meal which was beef tenderloin, mushroom demi glaze, parmesan garlic mashed potatoes, & seasonal vegetables (balsamic grilled brussel sprouts). I loved the Steak Tips. The demi glaze was rich and flavorful and I ended up putting it on my mashed potatoes since there was enough to spare and not to waste. Both my wife and I loved the brussel sprouts (why didn't our parents ever prepare them this way when we were kids? It could've been by favorite veggie dish. Instead of the common order of "eat your brussel sprouts", it would've been "may I please have more brussel sprouts?"). My salad was served in the same enclosed larger tray as the rest of the meal which made it warm by the time I got home and ate it. That should be in a separate area to keep it colder. My wife had the Pepper Bacon Mac N' Cheese which has Swiss, Fontina & Cheddar cheeses and served with some Texas type toast. Her meal was very flavorful but it could've been more saucy--like her! I am giving out 5 stars as this place had great curbside service, food presentation and quality and since they are sticking it out during the pandemic. Great job Stanford's and keep it up! read more

My son took his date at Stanfords for prom yesterday. He ordered the filet medium rare. It came blue rare (I saw the pic). He sent the steak back. They brought it back rare. They did not have the time to send it back again, though he did bring it to the waiter's attention. His date's food was apparently mediocre at best. My son was unable to eat his. They did not even offer to make it right with a discount - maybe because he's a kid? He did bring it home, and yes, it was very poorly prepared and very rare. It is so sad to see that such a big night in a kid's life was marred by inept cooking and poor customer service. I will never go back and will always recommend that people avoid this place. I've been going to this Northgate restaurant for a few years, and they always have the nicest staff and excellent service. The food is consistently delicious, my favorite appetizer's the Brussels sprouts, I usually order rib eye or filet mignon and end with a crème brûlée. But their burgers, salads and pastas are pretty great too! The atmosphere is more adult oriented, I don't think I've seen many kids. read more

Service was nice along with the atmosphere, ordered a 9oz filet with baked potato. The potato was the smallest & saddest looking potato I've seen & surprised it was ever allowed out of the kitchen. It was over cooked to a burnt yellow and lukewarm. Second potato was more of the same. This location needs some QC oversight of the food going out of the kitchen. read more

We have dined at this Stanfords for the past year and really enjoy it. Depending on what you order, it can be expensive. But we don't dine out much, so it is worth it. Service is good, environment and seating comfortable. We have always been pleased with the quality of the food and serving sizes. Last night I ordered the catch of the day.(fish)..which changes of course. No price is listed on the menu due to the 'mvp'. So, I ordered the blackened black cod..which comes with asparagus and basmati rice. My meal arrives and no asparagus. I asked the server why and she said she would go back and 'check'. She came back and told me that asparagus did not come with that meal. So I paid an extra $10.00 for the asparagus side! I get home, knowing that my eyes did not deceive me on the menu. And sure enough on line, it shows that the 'catch of the day' or MVP comes with the side of veggies. If it is the case that with the MVP you only get a side of rice, then make it clear instead of listing the asparagus as included. I know that black cod is super expensive, but again, had it been made clear that it was the 'exception' in that you don't get a veggie side, I would have ordered something else. $47.00 for a small piece of black cod with a side of rice...extra charge for the asparagus at $10.00. No drink other than water....$57.00 + I did tip generously (not the fault of the server). I saved my receipt and will be contacting Stanfords' business office tomorrow. Ridiculous. read more

Delicious! Just what I needed. I ordered the salmon meal and asked for no dressing (don't skip the dressing!) They said they normally have it on the side for take out. Oh it was fantastic. I enjoyed the brussel sprouts and potatoes as well. I think what I was really impressed with is the packaging and the bag was sealed when it was delivered. It felt like Covid protocols were taken very serious and because it was packaged so well my food stayed warm until I got home (20min) later. My wife and I had been to Stanfords once, a few years ago. We found it to be a beautiful environment in which to eat wonderfully prepared food. We always said we would go back. Well, about 7 years passed before we chose to celebrate a birthday there last evening. We were a group of seven including two children. From the moment we were shown our table to leaving, it was a great experience. Our waiter- amazing and fun. Food- so well prepared and presented. Environment- Elegant and inviting. Try to here for the first time today and order the chicken linguine. Service is super friendly and fast, when I brought home the food tasted good as it was hot and fresh. The salad was pretty good it had more things in it than I expected I had to eat cheese lettuce tomatoes and bacon which went really well, and they gave a lot of sauce which is a plus. The chicken linguine on the other hand was pretty good, I wish that there was more chicken but other than that it was good lots of flavor! The portion size was good at first I thought it was pretty small but after eating through it I got pretty full fast. The chocolate cookie was delicious. The only thing that I'm disappointed in is that they forgot the breadstick with the order. read more

I love Stanfords in Northgate. We, 4of us, have a ladies lunch there every 4 months or so. We always have great service and the food is really good. The staff is always so helpful we have 2 elderly people in our party and the staff go out of their way to help them. The atmosphere is also nice, we like that it is not over loud. This was my second time to Stanford's and both times did not disappoint. I brought my entire family for my birthday dinner and we all thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Our server was so attentive and had the best personality. Our ages ranged from 1 to 91 and he was so perfect with everyone. Dishes ranged from pasta and sandwiches to fish and steaks. All were phenomenal. Get the Brussel Sprouts!! They were the best I've ever had. Drinks were so tasty and dessert delish! Can't wait to go back. My only complaint is that no one ever answers the phone. I've called no less than 20 times at various times of the day on various days and no one has ever answered. I had to fill out the form on the website to get our reservation because Open Table wouldn't book a party as large as ours. That is a minor inconvenience, though, for a wonderful dining experience. read more
