Supposedly a soccer bar but really just a pretty decent dive bar in the off-season (summer) which when we were there. Weren't expecting much; Ordered our beers and happy hour fish and chips (2 pieces) and the super nice bartender brought them out pronto. Guess what? They were surprisingly good - warm, flaky cod, not too battered and in nice portions too. Fries were spot on: semi crisp outside, tender inside. Decent menu for a pub, but I gotta note that the beers were a bit flat so I should deduct a star. But I won't-- Everything else was cool. Layout is pretty open (but it is a small bar); tables in the middle and booths are comfy, so it feels like a nice low key neighborhood hang - at least when we were there, late afternoon with no games on. read more

I had been looking for a laid back sports bar to watch the NCAA final four with a friend. This was exactly that! It has a bit of a dive bar feel, but with an ambience that combines the excitement of watching live sports with the ability to have a conversation! The bartender politely declined to make me a cocktail because it was busy. I think they were understaffed because there were so many open tables - but I didn't mind because their selection of beer was quite good. We didn't order food, and it appeared to be standard bar fare. Overall, I think it's a great place to catch a game. read more

Great place to watch the Euros. It was very crowded but that's the whole point of watching the game at a bar. I liked the energy. It is a soccer bar which I like so every TV was dedicated to the game. We did leave after half-time because we got tired of standing but the drinks and experience was good. I've gone back on random nights to play darts and enjoy some bar food and it was always a good time. The fry's are dangerously good and portions were huge. read more

I travel in England almost annually & have friend's & family who make efforts to take me to a pub with a good "pie". Today I was one bite in & knew I was on to something far beyond expectations. My wife & I were in town for a NYE concert. Got into town about 4pm. The show didn't start til 8pm so we wanted to get a quick bite to eat and take a nap. I opened up Yelp and St Andrew's came up with solid reviews, so we went with that. I called in the order to go and the person assisting me was very helpful and polite. We ordered the blue cheese bacon burger, fish and chips and the hummus plate. The food was ready in 15 min. I walked down and was promptly met and paid for my order. Quick and easy. Got back to our Air BnB and the food was still hot and delicious looking. Great portions! We were very happy with our food and would definitely recommend this place. read more

Looked around for a good sports bar in our new neighborhood to watch the Kraken playoff game last night since our usual place was slammed. To our surprise this place was pretty empty. They have a ton of TVs, HUGE screen behind the bar and the sound was on for the game. Such a plus! The food was fine. Typical bar food. We weren't disappointed as we expected this. What we did love was how amazing our bartender/server was! I wish I could remember her name, but she was so sweet from the start, even during moments when she got a bit busy working by herself. They have a good amount of specialty beers on tap. She made us a great marg to start and even asked if we had some specialty preferences for them. Maybe it's because it wasn't too busy that we got the nice, extra service, but based on previous reviews sounds like the staff in here is really great. read more

Went to watch the kraken game with some friends. There was about 3 or 4 people on staff, and the bar and kitchen were SLAMMED! Despite the circumstances, and the busy night the staff was kind when they had every right to be cranky and frustrated. They updated everyone on delays, and still had smiles on their faces. I have to agree with the other 2020-21 reviewers who expressed disappointment that the bar owners and staff are not taking covid safety seriously. Inside, on a rainy day, so with windows and doors shut -- thus no ventilation -- the bartender started out with a surgical mask and then abandoned it and came around to the customer side of the bar and dining room and closely hung out with/chat with maskless customers/regulars who had arrived. I was pretty shocked. Looking around, there was only one other customer wearing a mask as required (i.e., while not *actively* eating or drinking). If my full vaccination had not already taken effect, I would have left. Based on the previous reviews that noted this lack of mask enforcement or social distancing, I guess they do not "believe in" the pandemic or something. But apparently they are closing soon, which is a shame. They were certainly friendly enough and the food/drink was good. read more

I really liked the look of this bar and was so excited to find a place that shows both Sounders and Seahawks. That being said, there was little to no social distancing practicing going on, tables were not distanced, nor were people expected to sepperate... and bartenders only occasionally wore masks. I felt incredibly unsafe especially as the Pandemic cases increase in the fall, and now feel as though I need to quarantine for a bit due to the lack of responsibility from this establishment. Really disappointed, hope to go back but won't until the vaccine is out. Hope the owners read this and make adjustments so they don't loose more service. read more

This is a very nice neighborhood bar. The bartenders are friendly and fairly efficient and the food is good. More importantly, even though I was there for the first time and it was clear that many of the patrons were regulars, I didn't feel like stranger. There's plenty of room (they even have an annex space for private parties) and except on a game day or special event, the bar and dining area is relatively quiet and very comfortable. I ordered the fish-n-chips with a pint from the rotating tap and my companion enjoyed a salmon sandwich. They didn't have a cider option, so my companion ordered a club soda. It's also worth noting that the bar features a wide variety of premium whiskey and single malt scotch favorites. read more

Stopped in here for booze and a burger. Definitely worth checking out for its extensive scotch collection. Pros: -Good selection of draft beers and especially scotch -Solid food at reasonable prices ($11 for a good burger in my case) -Friendly and attentive service Cons: -No happy hour, which is almost unbelievable to me given that it is a bar and pretty much all other nearby bars have some sort of early and/or late happy hour -Really uncomfortable ambiance. I came on a weekday, and the place clearly had its regulars since I was the only person at the bar throughout my time there who did not know everyone else. That was not a problem, but the conversations on either side of me were really loud (like some of the loudest I have ever heard in a bar) and were chock-full of expletives (specifically f-bombs, which occurred at least every ten seconds), which went unaddressed by the staff (who also knew everyone but me). It was quite unpleasant. The restaurant can obviously decide who its intended customers are, but it was clear that I was not one of them (which is fine). read more

5 stars for the single malt scotch selection. My favorite place in town to drink single malts. This is a very down to earth place to get a dram. There are well over 100 to choose among, and the guidance is good. The bartenders are knowledgable and the scotch book is helpful. I wouldn't bother the floor waitstaff with detailed scotch questions, but they're friendly and helpful with what they know. Pours are generous and come out in small, heavy water glasses. Nothing pretentious at all. It's an easy-going setting, very much a neighborhood bar. Nicely constructed, but nothing too flashy--plywood booths with coat hooks, a few tables, and an attractive bar. Tons of tvs, and metric tons of soccer memorabilia. They carry Setanta Sports and get lots of soccer, rugby, aussie rules, and the like. They know where they are, though, so you'll see Seattle teams' games on the flat screens as well. The food is perfectly decent pub grub, nothing wrong with it at all, and nicely priced. But unless you're a soccer fan, the big attraction is the laid-back environment to drink the single malts. read more

At St. Andrews, and the futbol fan, they have it all, from fine brews to fine scotch whiskey, all under one roof. The bar is very well stocked and the kitchen bangs out some fine pub grub. I came here for yet another Youth-soccer meeting, (Yes Michelle, I know, I know...). Don't ask me why all of our meetings end up in bars or pubs, any-who.... Games were being shown on 4 or 5 really nice flat screen TV's. It allowed the inner futbol/soccer child, in me, to come out, sadly I don't remember much of the meeting.... Pitchers and pints are served in fine fashion, our waitress was attentive and called us, "boys", with loving affection, we were all happy and well taken care of. The menu is of a decent size, 2 members of our party had the F&C's, the tartar looked divine, I must come back to try it! I was excited to find this place. Not because I'm the biggest Whiskey/Scotch fan, but because my husband is. The bar has over 100 different kinds of said booze which I cannot stand to drink. (I'm a Vodka girl). When picking a seat near the bar, I was really in awe over the master list. They also offer a list which helps educate you over what is what and where it's from. Pretty cool. I'm not a whiskey fan straight up, but I do like coffee with a shot of Bailey's and Jameson. My husband on the other hand, ordered a $25 shot of whiskey and then a $14 shot of whiskey. I don't remember what all he ordered but I did notice his speech slurring after a couple hours! We didn't do a meal here since this was a quick stop to wait for a friend to show up for his birthday present/cupcakes I brought him. Unfortunately I can't review what the kitchen offers. The barkeeps are nice and very chatty. I can see myself stopping by again if I'm in the neighbourhood. Also, make sure you order a Whiskey to drink. Otherwise you'll piss off Jim Morrison...because I think he wrote a song about this whiskey bar! read more

I really don't know how the bartender does it all. Extremely warm and inviting atmosphere with amazing attendance and attention from the staff. We felt like we were always looked after when the whole place was pretty full. I don't know how he does it all?! The drinks were fun and made well with some bar food options such as burgers and sides. They place the extras of the meal on the side so you can pick and choose what you want in them. The layout of the establishment was well done; roomy and easy to be served and attended to. I came here as a newbie worried about what I'd find. Good beers, good food! I liked this place. The beers were excellent, they had some great Scottish and English beers on tap which you don't find super often. I had the pastrami on rye. It was really good. The sandwich had a lot of pastrami on the sandwich. It came with fries which were really good as well. Everyone at the table enjoyed their food. We absolutely love this bar. It's such a gem nestled in the greenlake neighborhood. It kind of feels like the "Cheers" concept where everybody loves you and everybody knows your name. No one is a stranger in this bar as everyone is so friendly. The drinks are always rotating and the food is phenomenal. We had the wings with blue cheese dipping sauce (WOW, i hate wings and loved these). I had the mushroom Swiss burger with a side salad. Both were fresh and delicious. Highly recommend coming here to watch a sports game or just unwind after a long day of work. You have to be fun loving and in a good mood - everyone here is trying to have a good time. read more

I live just a few blocks away and really wanted to make this my local pub but I have been in a few times now and the service has been terrible each time. The first time we (group of 4) waited 10 minutes for a server(there were other people there but if wasn't what I'd call busy). When we finally got one it took 10 more minutes to get our drinks. We ordered food and a half hour later it hadn't come. We flagged someone down and turns out they forgot to put in our food order (?). Ok. Not a great first trip but things happen right? A month later we come in again and the same thing with the server. Waited 10 minutes for someone to greet us and give us menus. Asked for a Scotch list and they didn't have one (!!!?). This place bills itself as a great place for Scotch. Asked for a recommendation and the server said he wasn't a Scotch guy. Again wtf, you're a Scotch bar. They didn't forget to put in our food order this time but each time we needed fresh drinks we had to flag someone down and had to flag someone down for the check. Food is fine and standard bar fare but the service here downright sucks. Wanted to love this place and come in often. Now I won't be back. read more

Scotch lovers would love this place. They have a separate menu with all of their scotches listed. My friends loved their scotch selection. I had their Scottish bbq sandwich, which was salty and sweet with decent beef brisket slices, but it wasn't any different from other bbq places I've been to. This is my new favorite Greenlake bar! The perfect vibe, cozy and warm, airy and chill. I had one of the best old fashioneds here I've ever tasted (well, I had two of them.) Their tartar sauce really is off the charts, and the steak salad was surprisingly substantial and way more tasty than I thought it would be. Basic bar food it is not - it was well balanced and well dressed and just delicious. Average prices for the area, but above average for everything else. Can't wait to go back and try the wings! read more
