Since I'd had one done by Chris' German four years ago on a Porsche 996 along with subsequent maintenance on that car there I decided to obtain a second opinion before going forward with the purchase. I left a voicemail over the weekend for Chris & John. I then dropped by on Monday morning hoping Chris could get me in and he gladly did. John called the salesman and I immediately after completion to relay the objective results and I completed the deal that night. Additionally, I've contacted John on numerous occasions to get his opinions regarding maintenance concerns on my 996 and he's always given me excellent advice. These gentlemen are consummate professionals and I consider this the finest Porsche mechanic in this area.

In my experience, Chris's German Auto Service has proven to be an excellent mechanic. On this inspection, I worked closely with Chris and Troy who inspected my new purchase. Chris and Tylor attention to detail has raised the bar to a new level of excellence. The "PPI" was performed without issues. Write-up was produced quickly and completely, repairs were priced competitively and executed quickly, and requisitions were obtained on time and without revision or added expense. From manpower to materials, the schedule was managed perfectly; throughout, the "PPI" and as a result the car was delivered on time and within budget. Chris and Troy brought a teamwork approach to the job and proactively sought prompt and effective solutions to minor issues. The mechanic at the shop worked safely and produced quality work with minimal extras. In closing, I am confident that given the opportunity, Chris's German Auto Service would be a valuable asset to any new purchase "PPI" or repair required. Sincerely, Steve Scherner

Absolutely terrible experience at Biggs Eastside…read more I brought my Land Rover LR3 in for a wheel alignment because it was pulling to the right and the steering wheel was offset to the left. This should be a straightforward job for a Land Rover specialist. It cost several hundred dollars more than the competition, but I assumed the expertise justified the price. When I got the car back, it was still pulling to the right. I returned the vehicle, expecting them to re-check the alignment. Instead, they swapped the front tires left-to-right and recalibrated the steering angle sensor (SAS). And charged me. Again. Swapping tires to diagnose a pull is questionable enough since it did not solve the issue, but recalibrating the SAS was completely pointless! The SAS has zero influence on physical steering geometry and cannot correct an alignment issue. I'm not sure how a Land Rover specialist does not know that. Unsurprisingly, the vehicle still pulled right. I replaced the tires, and the pull remained. Since they had charged me twice without fixing the issue, I requested a warranty alignment -- the alignment they should have performed when I brought the car back. The manager, Angela refused. When I picked up the car the second time, the tech even said that "I might need a warranty alignment if new tires did not solve the issue". The manager even claimed that the shop that replaced my tires (Discount Tire) was negligent because, she told me "wheel alignment is always done with every new set of tires". This is simply incorrect. Most tire stores don't even have an alignment rack. Further, they don't have the equipment or knowledge to place the land rover into a special (tight tolerance) mode needed for proper wheel alignment. What a waste of money. Take caution: they do not stand behind their work, and worse: they do not understand the mechanical systems of the Land Rover platform.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE IF YOU VALUE IT'S LIFE…read more Would rate -5000 stars if I could, I am a fabricator and mechanic by trade, and needed my exhaust welded and brake lines redone in the rear due to the exhaust hanging and smacking the brake lines. I had plans to move out of state 3 days after the bracket snapped. Called them up, after talking to various shops, and had accepted I wouldn't be leaving on time, as I didn't have access to my own welder. Low and behold, they said no problem and booked me asap. Let me drop off right then as they are close to me. Told me it would be done next day. Welding "got done" and then everything got delayed by the brake lines delayed arrival. No worries there as it wasn't necessarily their fault. YOU KNOW WHAT IS? The so called "welds" they did, were as I noticed from the beginning, super sloppy, and I wasn't happy already, but that pales in comparison to the convenience of getting it done so fast... OR SO I THOUGHT. These buffoons decided it would be a GREAT idea to use a sideways bolt as a bridge for the gap in the hanger. It's a very simple L shaped hanger that could be either repaired properly or completely fabricated in under an hour by somebody competent. You won't find that here. Competence is apparently not in their job description here. Taking advantage of you rich folk who don't know much about your car. This is the easiest review I've had to make. I've been coming here ever since i learned how to…read moredrive because my mom recommended me. I am now 20, just moved back to issaquah and came here for an oil change. Before giving my keys back, i was heavily encouraged by Jeff to buy their full service (see picture attached) because i bought a new used vehicle that they haven't worked on yet before. well he printed out an estimated custom cost for me incase i was interested and came out to be about 1k. along with that estimated cost paper, he offered me a pamphlet that ive never seen before explaining to me that its a really popular service. i opened it to see that "most vehicles are $499" for the service. i obviously took a closer look to see that most of the actions in the service are inspections! (see photo attached) I thought that was so funny, i took pictures of both the pamphlet and the printed estimate they gave me to send to my boyfriend. I took another picture for this review just now. saving you guys from getting scammed lol. So, the main part of the story- upon giving my keys back from my oil change, Jeff says "and one last thing! we noticed a coolant leak and can show you how to top off coolant in your car" so then Jeff pops the hood and shows me where to put the coolant and how to check if the coolant is low.. Later, even though i did my own research, i call and ask what coolant that they recommend i buy for my honda and let Jeff know i had someone down at o'reillys help me top off my car with coolant and Jeff asks "should i schedule for it to be repaired?" after scheduling it, i ask them "can you give me an estimate of how much it will be to repair it?" and Jeff says "we can't give you an estimate because we don't know where the coolant leak is coming from, we need to inspect it first" which i thought to be an odd answer. The day i gave them my car to repair the coolant leak, they called me and said "okay so i have good news. you only have to pay $100 because you have nothing wrong with your car! we thought an oil spill was coolant and mistaken oil for a coolant leak. we still had to do a pressurized oil test so it's only $100 for the inspection" and then i say "okay ill see you soon thankyou" and he responds "im so glad i could deliver you the good news" when i walk in, i ask the man at the front desk "can i speak to the manager" and he says "im the owner" and i proceed to tell him "i have a complaint. Jeff told me i had a coolant leak and helped show me where to top it off and i even called and asked what coolant i should buy. Jeff told me i should schedule it to get repaired but there was nothing wrong with my car" and the owner says "did they tell you why they thought you had a coolant leak" and i say "yes they told me it was an oil spill but i think it's not fair to tell me i should schedule to repair a coolant leak that i don't have" and he says "well i listen in on your conversations and i heard him say that we have to inspect it first and that we don't even know if you have one or not yet" and then he starts negotiating and saying that he can give me half off the inspection and i calmly argued "well no you guys worded it like i for sure had a coolant leak and told me where to top off coolant and what coolant to buy as well" after i said this, the owner slams a piece of printer paper down HARD on the desk and firmly says "GET THE FUCK OUT AND DONT COME BACK" .. and because he was so aggressive i was in a lot of shock. i walked out the door and on my way out he says to me "i can't believe you're your mothers daughter" and i say "wow" and walk out and cry in their parking lot. but i walk back in and tell them "thats no way to speak to a girl" to try to advocate for myself and i had to ask since he thought highly of my mother: "and what do you mean by you can't believe im my mothers daughter?" and he says he would rather not speak to me but says "I said it because your mom is reasonable and you're not reasonable" and threatens to call the cops and i left the lobby crying saying that's no way to treat a girl :( I'm pretty sure the owners name is Dave.
