Have you ever made a corner a little too sharp or scratched your wheel on a curb. It is a horrible sound. And when you see it, it is something that you cannot live with seeing it everyday. There is a place in Bellevue that removes that eyesore for a reasonable price. Sound wheel came recommended to me from a co worker. I am always extra careful but a curb at the local high school got me. The location is tucked a little back off the main road but well worth the find. Sound Wheel is quick with same day service. I took my car in when they opened and was out before noon with a repair that was to a factory finish. There is no need to take the wheel off of the car, they do that at the shop. The staff was very friendly and efficient, my favorite. I hope that I do not have to use their services again but if I do, this is my go to place. read more

I want to start this off by saying I highly recommend this place! I had accidentally taken a turn too tight and hit my wheel and got some light curb rash. Paint was done and some material was definitely removed. That same night, I reached out via their Instagram and got not only a quote but set up with an appointment so quickly. Corey, thank you for your comments and offer to grind the weld for me. I don't feel this small issue warrants the time and extra work however, especially since the repair is not in a structural location and is not easily seen, but I wanted to mention it. If I need to have another wheel repaired I wouldn't hesitate to bring it to your shop; I will just ask that the weld be ground flush for aesthetic reasons. Fatigue failure from stress concentration in the heat-affected zone around a weld is not really applicable here, but would be on a wheel spoke or driveshaft weld. Initial review from 5/27/2023 Had my stock RS5 wheels powder coated black by Sound Wheel Works. At first they looked great but not a durable coating. These wheels are only my summer wheels so I only had two summers on the rims before i started seeing multiple small rock chips. Chips are in the finish powder coat only, about half way from center to outer edge. When I brought my car in to SWW manager called them "rock chips" that are not covered by warranty. I have less then 4,000 miles on these rims before I noticed the rock chips on all the rims. For my winter wheels I sprayed them myself with plastidip and there are no similar rock chips but only a little bit of peeling on the plastidip on outer edge. I have over 10,000 miles in the winter on the plastidip wheels . SWW offered to repair the rock chips for about half of what I paid initially to powder coat. I believe they will chip again so this is not worth the expense to throw good money after poorly spent money. I will use touch up paint to fix the chipping myself. Powder coating not durable from SWW so I cant recommend them for this work. My follow up to Sound Wheel Works response to my initial review: My point is Sound Wheel Works is conveniently calling all the rim finish issues "rock chips" so they are not warranted. The powder coating has continued to come off the rims leaving silver spots in the gloss black. The powder coating is coming off as large as 0.5 x 0.4 inches which are very large for "rock chips". Paint on automobile is spot less so I not sure how only the wheels have "rock chips". I have never had rims chipping/peeling finish like this. I included some pictures of only a few of the finish defects. In the pictures the black finish may appear a little muddy due to some tire shine overspray but is really a nice gloss black. Besides the finish defects the rest of the finish is nice. 7-11-23 An additional edit. The repair offered at a lower price to original powder coat was just a localized blending and touch up of the flaking finish. I decided not to go with a touch up repair as the powder coating has continued to come off leading to endless touch ups. I lowered my rating from 2 star to 1 star due to continuous nature of finish coming off. Continued flaking of finish, size of defects (half an inch), low usage of wheels and the fact that no other damage besides the rims leads me to the conclusion that this is an adhesion problem. I returned the M4 and the Porsche Cayenne to fix the other damaged wheels. There was no structural damage, but some had severe curb rash. All fixed and good as new. The Porsche had a strange circle effect after the repair, and Corey explained that it happens sometimes. I took it back, and he refinished it free of charge. Corey and his team are excellent and provide extraordinary service. As a car guy, Both cars' wheels look as good as new, and these are expensive wheels, so it's an excellent value for the money. Yes, price. Used OEM wheel was $88 shipped on Ebay and my DIY repair was free to compare the options. I heated the small dented portion to ~100C while applying pressure with a bottle jack and then hit it with a hammer a few times. There is no leak so far and the car drives smooth. I will re-check pressure after a week. ++++++++++++ I hit a popped out utility cap on the road that bent my rim causing tire to lose pressure. They responded quickly via text on the weekend and texted me first thing Monday morning offering an appointment the next day for repair. However the repair estimate was $150 more than a grade B refurbished wheel cost on Ebay. I don't want waste and didn't want to wait so I fixed the rim myself using propane torch, bottle jack, rubber mallet and sledge hammer after watching a DIY video on YouTube. The repair was on the inner side of the rim so cosmetics weren't a concern for me. It took about 30 min which is faster than other options and free. I was surprised with the results. read more

Sent one of my employees here several months ago with his heavily curbed sports car wheel. I didn't think they would be able to fix it. They did state it would likely come out about 95%. I mean, it was gloss black with a tiny ridge with recessed red paint. I'd say it came out amazing and for a bargain price and around 99%. A replacement rim would've been 5x the price. I had a bent wheel on my car recently from a leftover construction mount and spoke with Shelly. She's so responsive and Corey took a look at the photo and said, "no problem, I can take care of that." He found two bent spots on the wheel and had it fixed up in about 30 minutes and for cheaper. Here's the thing. I'm super picky about my vehicles and finding car-related services that have that amazing, artistic ability to do top notch work are really hard to find. Because of that, I do much of my own work but there are some things you leave to the true artists. On top of that, I was able to get my wheel in super quickly, with short notice, and for a great price.
