I'm very disappointed with this place as me and girlfriend drove 30mins to get here based on the reviews and we left based on staff bickering and favoritism. First as we waited to be seated, we saw two staff members bicker and argue about payments and orders. Then saw another staff member sitting with their friends and chatting with them. But the worst of it was as we saw an open booth behind the counter, not used; me and my girlfriend waiting already 10 mins to be seated, was given to a person who just walked in, and was immediately seated to that open booth, noticing that they were friends or family of one of the servers and not going the proper process of waiting their turn. I don't care if you have family and friends coming to the restaurant, but taking their time and waiting as everyone else is...is fair and just. I will not come back and the sad thing I was planning to spend a lot of money and they lost a potential customer. Too bad... read more

Went in today with my daughter. Thought since we were up early we beat the crowd in. Place is a small corner restaurant not too many tables inside or outside. I ordered pancake for her from kids menu, and I figured since there was so many omelettes on the menu I just order a two egg breakfast with biscuits and gravy to try out. Her pancake was cute but too expensive for a kid meal of just a pancake. My scrambled eggs and hash browns were bland as ever. I was super excited to see my hash browns come out looking super toasty but very disappointed in the taste. They tasted stale somehow. My sodium intake was met in my first meal of the day as I added so much salt and ketchup to give them a taste. The biscuits and gravy were very disappointing too. The biscuit was so dense, no fluff to them at all like a hockey puk. Stuck to the roof of my mouth. The gravy again was bland and I had to add a ton of salt and pepper to give it some taste. The table next to me was mentioning they werent too impressed with their omelettes and the cheese sauce you can get too. Service was fine, and friendly. Ate my food because I was starving and didnt want to go somewhere else. Would not go back for a second try. Rather go to Windmill Cafe downtown and eat on good food for a great price. So bummed about this place. read more

This is my 2nd time here in 2 weeks. This is definitely a good weekend spot. The people are amazing they are all so happy and welcoming. The inside look reminds me of my hometown Santa Cruz. You can almost order 1 plate and share they give you so much food. And it's so good. Another thing I like about this place is they charge extra for meat on sandwiches where as other places char more for avocado they charge extra for turkey. All very healthy and good food definitely recommend it! read more

I have been there many times and like to say the food does not disappoint. I also enjoy the atmoshpere. It is busy for breakfast but my family and I always wait. read more

My first impression upon seeing the menu was the price. It seemed a bit pricey for breakfast. Then the food came. All of a sudden, price was no object. The taste of everything at the table was amazing! We all agreed, there were three of us, and we all shared. No one could finish their meal. SO much food! My highest recommendation. read more

I love this place. Indeed, I am picky when it comes to breakfast food and generally ask for it to be done a specific way. They were able to accommodate me and were actually pretty nice about it. read more

This place is awesome! Great lunches and garlic fries!

Damn! This place is freakin expensive! $3.29 for a cup of coffee and they only gave me ONE SLICE OF TOAST!!! $17.00 for one breakfast! NO THANK YOU! read more

I have been here a number of times and usually love the food and Servers here. However I would not recommend them for take out food. I called in an order and when I went to pick it up it took awhile for them to help me at all and then when they did help me they said my food would be ready shortly. After over 25 minutes standing by the door I asked for a second time if they could see if my order was ready and they said yes and picked up the bag that had been sitting on the counter ever since I walked in the door. When I asked the gentleman why I had been waiting so long if it had been ready the whole time and he did offer to remake the food however I did not have time to wait for that on top of the time I had already waited. When I got home and started to eat the breakfast burrito the Avocado used was completely black. I called and asked to speak to a manager and they said they were too busy to talk to me and would call back. So far no call back. Very disappointed in one of my favorite restaurants. read more

Squeeze In - Black Avocado - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Modesto, California

My wife, daughter and I checked out this place for the first time last weekend. The food was good, the atmosphere was nice and the staff was friendly. Unfortunately the prices were a little ridiculous. I ordered an omelette and it was $16, which is a little more expensive than your typical diner omelette. It was the nickel and diming that got out of hand. I asked if I could substitute bell pepper and onion for the mushroom that it came with. The places I usually go to would consider this a substitution, not an addition and it would not cost anything extra, but here I was charged an extra dollar for the bell pepper and an extra dollar for the onion. That brought the total to $18. I asked for a side of salsa, which again most places would provide for free, but here they charged an extra dollar for that as well (for about two tablespoons of salsa). That brought the total to $19. Add $1.60 for tax and the total for my omelette was now $20.60. A 20% tip for my over $20 omelette came to $4.40. So the final total for my omelette came to $25! It would have been nice if the waitress would have mentioned the additional costs, but we did not realize it until we received the bill. And that was just for the additional charges for my plate, not including extra charges that were added on to my wife and daughter's meals. All of these additional unbeknownst charges and the larger tip that was required because of them made the total much more than we expected. We will probably only go to this place occasionally, rather than have it be our new favorite breakfast spot as we had hoped. read more

Iced tea and iced coffee were too waterly and no flavor, English muffin in my benedict didn't fresh, furthermore, servers served without washing hands after they touched the cashier, her own drink(a lady served with drinking her refreshment in front of customers), even garden chairs at outside and not polite. Everything made me feel too pricy. It's a shame since the concept of foods are OK. read more

I just tried this place! I ordered chilaquiles and it wasn't very good! Tortillas aren't fresh.. green sauce its to sour.. beans are out of the can which I don't have any problem with that but they were served on my chilaquiles without flavor! I ordered two eggs on top of my meal and coffee.. my bill was 20 dollars and some cents.. I will try something else next time. I believe chilaquiles need to be fixed!!!it's a little nice place and service was fine! read more

The food is decent but the portions are huge! Kinda like the atmosphere as it feels like your at someones kitchen table. Have only tried the breakfast so no info on the lunch. read more

Great experience every time I go. The omelettes and pancakes are my favorite. Biggest pancakes everrrrr. Family friendly and chill environment. read more

My husband and I recently went here for the first time. We were told the wait would be 25 minutes and it was 40, but we were fine with that - it was obviously packed when we put our name in. The food and service was great, but it was fairly expensive for what we got. I would definitely go back, but not often because I can get a similar breakfast for half the price at other locations in town. read more

Food is very good. Had the racy Tracy omelet with eye toast which was delicious. Definitely will go back but will not wait an hour as it is usually how long it takes to get a table, however, if you go early (as in before 9am) you don't have to wait too long. Very good. Will go back....early! read more

Everything we have eaten has been so tasteful. We love our breakfast date once a week here. Thx for being the Squeeze In!!

Though the atmosphere was cool and the staff was friendly they are lacking in the most important area of a restaurant, the food. The epic breakfast burrito was awful. Below average food with above average prices. read more

Went in thinking that it was squeeze Inn. Burgers and ended up eating a wonderful breakfast and will be back with family. Awesome gravy for biscuits! read more

We here at our office love this place visit it often and love the food and service. Portions are large and prices are reasonable. Will go back for sure. Kathy and her staff are all great. read more

Food was good and service was outstanding. For some reason I started getting warm in the restaurant and the young female working set the temperature to be cooler and I felt immediately better. Small significant change but made me more comfortable for my stay and I will definitely be coming back. Small things really do count when it comes to customer service and I wanted to share. read more

Great find! We needed a place where we could dine outside with a dog. This is that place - and the food is great! Something for everyone, from vegan to meat lover. The staff is super friendly and accommodating! Wish there was one in Southern California! read more

Really delicious omelets. Kinda priced high but worth it. Lots of different options to choose from. Very friendly staff and clean. Definitely worth a try. read more

My favorite place to eat the best employees very nice and excellent service and love those hippies place

Food was okay but the place seemed very unorganized. I found the hosts to waitresses ratio odd, usually the hosts just seat but they were doing half the work and in my experience was a lot nicer than my actual waitress. Bummed the waitress was the one who got the tip. read more

I have been thinking of trying this place for months and finally pulled the trigger. It lived up to the hype. I had an omelette with turkey breast and avocado. You could taste the quality of the ingredients and freshness in each bite. The atmosphere is fun and free spirited which invites you to "unplug" and reconnect to the world around you. You will find yourself reading the comments left by previous customers. It's like yelp and Facebook on the walls giving you insights to the menu and an opportunity to feel like you aren't missing out on Facebook updates as you make a real world connection to your surroundings. The service is very friendly and owners are very kind to take time to say hello and ensure you are satisfied with your experience. If you want the typical head in your phone experiences of most restaurants, the food is good enough to allow you be in your world. However, you will be challenged to return to a simpler time of human interaction. Slow down and enjoy your trip down memory lane!! read more

Very good breakfast omelets. The biscuits are a little dry but very comforting. They make great use of a small space and are very pet friendly. Great atmosphere but and very decorated. Menu is a little cluttered and too big in my opinion but has a good variety from omelets and pancakes to burgers and sandwiches. Many servers and great family service. Wish the hours were later though so I could go later in the day. But I would advise everyone to go at least once. read more

Cute and unique place! The staff was very friendly. I had a version of eggs Benedict that I really liked. But wasn't a huge fan of their country potatoes- they have the kind from the fryer and I like the griddle cooked kind. Definitely would not deter my from returning, I will just choose another side dish. And my husband loved his omelette. I had my three young kids with us and they gave us a little basket of toys for them to play with while waiting for our food! We will be back! read more

I had the twice-baked scramble, and it was very good. It came with a nice sized portion of fresh fruit including large blueberries and strawberries. Our kids enjoyed their meals, too. Very generous portions. It's great to have a place like this in the neighborhood. read more

Let me start with, my daughter LOVES this place. We came here on her recommendation. It is Father's day, so we expect a long wait. We got here at 9:00am and were told a half hour wait, it ended up being an hour. However, when I asked if we could have coffee while we waited, they were friendly and accommodating. The place is tiny, but fun and quirky. You can write a message on the wall if you choose. The staff is very friendly, and you are treated like family. They are known for their omelettes. They claim, "the best omelettes on the planet". We did not get their omelettes. The food is okay. It was breakfast. Im not saying it was bad, just average. You get a TON of it. We could barely finish half. Im thinking if a place is known for something, THAT is what we should have ordered. The menu is very extensive. I recommend that if you have to wait, ask to check out a menu while you wait. Because it is has so many choices... it takes a while to figure out what you want. But again, Im thinking I should have had an omelette. The place was packed so the service was very slow. Refills on coffee had to be requested. (this is just a pet peeve of mine ) However, extremely pleasant people work here. Breakfast for four was over $60, and there was alot of food. There would be no trouble sharing and still having left overs. The spuds are just potatoes. No flavor. You may like that, if not get the Otis style. This is a fun place. The food is not bad and the people are genuinely happy that you are there. read more

Totally worth the wait! Healthy portions and the omelettes were delicious. Sometimes omelettes can be greasy and overly cheesy, but these were done just right! read more
