l went to spudnuts because they are known for making delicious blueberry donuts. When I asked a worker for a half dozen box of blueberry donuts, I was rejected with the following message: "We do not have any blueberry at the moment. Sorry" I assumed, wrongly, that they had run out for the day. I was not offended until returned the next day to find that they, again, did not have blueberry donuts. Then I called the following day to ask if they were serving blueberry donuts, but they continued to hurt me by telling me that they "didn't have any today because of a lack of customers. This is wrong. If y'all don't start making blueberry donuts again, I swear to god. I will cry. I am deeply offended, and I DO NOT appreciate this lack of blueberry donuts. I will scream. Let's make this real simple: Spudnuts is decent doughnut shop. They have all your doughnut options, as well as bagels and croissants. Nothing spectacular, but definitely not the worst. Who would have thought that the best boba in town would be from a donut shop? Yeah guys, forget Hana, forget Pho bistro, and forget naan stop. Also please don't even try Fire and Ice. Spudnuts is where it's at. When I walked in, I was greeted by really nice decor. It's a pretty cute shop, and perfect for studying. I also noticed that there's a Chinese prosperity frog next to the cash register. I ordered a blended taro smoothie with boba and it really really reminds me of boba shops from the Bay. The boba is slightly cooked more than al dente but the sweetness and texture are more or less spot on. The taro is quite good. But, I guess it's kind of not the main focus, since almost everyone in IV who does taro can't really fuck it up since its from a powder. I came here previously though and ordered a regular milk tea with boba. The milk tea ACTUALLY TASTES LIKE MILK TEA. As in, I taste a tea flavor!!! It is a strong tea flavor. It's def not on par with quicklys or anything but it's the BEST in isla vista. Also, their hours are till 2 AM. Literally, come here for your late night boba fix. As for the donuts... I'm not a fan of donuts in general, but my boyfriend seems to like their donut holes and the pricing for them. read more

It's the convenience and the location that keeps me coming. I can walk here in a couple of minutes and I always get the same thing for breakfast. Unfortunately, I always get it made differently every time and that is my pet peeve. I typically order a breakfast bagel sandwich (bagel, sometimes mayo, sausage and egg) and it seems that everyone has a different way of making it. Some of the times I can tell that these employees don't enjoy making it because it requires effort instead of grabbing a donut and ringing them up. I definitely think they have their moments with employment from time to time and it's never consistent (cause it's a college job) but they have definitely had their fair share of employees I can live without. They usually have a vast selection of donuts but if you are going there late at night (last hour of closing) don't expect a variety of donuts. They are closing up and making more for tomorrow morning. What it seems like is that they make all their donuts in the morning and sell them throughout the day which makes sense to why people aren't getting a variety of choices late at night. The wifi is good and to study there is alright. It's impossible for me during the day but at night it becomes a little more tolerable. UPDATE: I did want to mention how hard working the manager is and that is he the only reason this place really deserves a 5* rating. read more

I little hard to find in a new building on a side street near UCSB, Spudnuts still has the best donuts around. They literally melt in your mouth--I guess that's the potato flour, super-light. Great selection, plenty of old-fashioned, buttermilk bars, any kind anyone could want. read more

It's got some odd summer hours (closing early) but it's still a great little shop, kind of in a side corner to the main eating plaza but not hard to find. Everyone who works there has been beyond helpful and always super friendly. The croissant breakfast sandwiches are pretty good and you can't go wrong with the donuts. A good amount of things to choose from for a donut shop, and it's one of the only places that has boba so late at night, and it's pretty cheap boba but tastes like it too. Still worth the price though and a good option when the other boba places are closed. read more

3% charge for using credit or debit cards? Seriously? I like to live in the 21st century. Delicious donuts, love every one I've had here. The breakfast croissant sandwiches are also great, which is impressive considering it's microwaved eggs. This is normally a problem for me at other locations, but I can barely tell here, I think the croissant hides it pretty well. The croughnuts are good, but a little too pricey for what you get, but all the other pastries are not only delicious but fairly priced to boot. The apple fritter, which is the size of my face, is nice and crispy on top but still fluffy on the inside, though a little lacking on the apple flavor. Well from other donuts I've eaten in LA, these donuts do seem to be a bit more dense. They looked great on the outside, but just not for me on the inside. You'd get pretty full I guess from one or two donuts. I tried the glazed and sprinkles one. They both have a nice sweet taste to it, but when biting into it, feels strange for me. I guess it's preference, but I'd like my donuts to be a bit more fluffy. It's worth trying out then, they have most of the common donuts you'd find. read more
