    a box of doughnuts
    Troy B.

I randomly ordered delivery from here because I woke up on a Sunday morning with a big donut craving (as I often do LOL). Ordered coffee and an assortment of donuts to try, including the Glazed, Sugar, a Vanilla Concha, Donut Holes, a Crumb Donut, etc. They threw in an extra Sugar Donut and many more donut holes which was very much appreciated. The donuts weren't anything out of the ordinary, but they were decently good. They tasted fresh, and weren't overly oily or sweet. The Concha was probably my favorite. It is a Mexican bakery after all, and they specialize in these.

Opened for Thanksgiving, this charming hole-in-the-wall is an easy to miss classic mom-and-pop with traditional mexican bakery items: conchas, banderas, coyotas, galletas de bodas, orejas, as well as American fare cinnamon buns, fruit croissants, donuts, donut holes and fritters. The chocolate sprinked donut I had was VERY sugary - so much that I couldn't finish. Otherwise, the concha breads were fabulously fluffy and fresh, soft on the inside and crunch on the outside. I also ordered Avena, or Mexican oatmeal, served in a coffee cup which was a little weird for having to suck oats out of a small hole, but nonetheless hearty and good for you - just the right sweetness. Finally, two very hot coffees, and they packed different flavor creams, sugars and stirrers in a separate bag for our take-out. Very friendly service, like the kind you only get from local establishments that know your name. Best of all, the entire order - less than $10!

AMAZING!! I love Goleta Bakery and the woman that runs it! My favorite time to go is right at opening after working a night shift at my job. The bakery smells amazing and has endless sweet options from conchas to donuts and everything in between. My go to order is chocolate conchas! They are fluffy, with a sweet sugar topping. Perfect breakfast and all my friends love them too. Highly recommend supporting this small business!

I wasn't a fan of the pan dulce, but the tamales were delicious. Not dry at all and had a lot of flavor.

Goleta Bakery has the best flan in town. Buying a slice from their enormous round of baked flan is worth the stop in alone.

I tried to place an order for 500 brownies for a church function. They couldn't help me as there was no one there that spoke English.

The line always moves fast and the food comes out quickly too. What compelled me to write this review was because I had a delicious pescado a la diabla, which was a daily special. The fish was a huge portion -- a whole filet with a delicious spicy sauce, perfectly cooked and flaky. The rice and beans are always great, perfectly seasoned and cooked. I also had a passionfruit margarita which was big and well balanced. The salsa bar is very good; the habanero salsa is really tasty but their old version without cream was one of the best salsa I ever had and I'm so sad they don't offer it anymore. It was legitimately spicy. I always love coming here with my friends after a movie so we can discuss the flick over some great mexican food.

The guacamole is fresh and while it's a little pricey, the portion os generous. The steak nachos had toppings spread throughout the chips, not just sitting on top which has been my experience at some other restaurants. The quesabirria special is my go to dish here, the meat is so tender and flavorful!

The spot was empty but we figured it was probably due to the holidays. We got chips and salsa then looked at the menu. The chips and salsa were NOT good. the chips were very stale and the salsa tasted watered down. I knew instantly I didn't want to eat here plus the pricing was quite steep. However, I gave it a chance... but we were waiting for over 10-20 min at this point waiting for the waitress to come by. We were confused given the spot was empty, she couldn't be that busy. My husband went in and saw her talking to somebody else. Guess we were forgotten. My husband got the chimichanga to go which came with rice and beans on the side. Overall a decent meal, it wasn't much food. His rice and beans were OK, I got Mexican food elsewhere for cheaper and the rice/beans tasted much better.
