From the phone call to picking up my tacos, my entire experience was absolutely perfect. This spot has become my new Taco Tuesday tradition! Calling in my order, I was greeted by the sweetest person who made sure my order was exactly what I wanted and asked if I wanted sliced avocado in each taco to which I said of course! It took no time at all for everything to be ready and I had to scoop up a Jamaica as well. The asada and adobada were perfectly cooked. Delicious breakfast burritos! Definitely hit the spot. Had the adobada burrito as well. Grabbed a few pastries. The best one was the one with a swirl of jam and covered with coconut. It was delicious. Puerto cochinito was soft and like delicious gingerbread. Concha looked good and was soft but just tasted like bread - not sweet bread. One of the most expensive places for Mexican food in Santa Barbara, especially considering it is takeout only. Location is strange. I never would have found it just driving by. Saw reviews online and sought it out. A number of people were outside waiting for the orders. I placed an order quickly and opted to just order one taco to try their food for the first time. Got a pork taco. It was served on a paper plate with a few radish slices, two lemon wedges and a condiment container with very water green hot chile hot sauce. One tortilla. Flavor was good but I have had better. There was cilantro (no flavor) and the pork meat was fine but nothing special. It was better than anything other tacos I have had in the county...though pricier. Service was good though there is no place to dine here. read more

They have you staple items such as tacos, burritos and tortas, as well as tamales. The tamales es silicosis and flavorful and not dry. I was looking for a place to eat.And I found this little bakery. I was not really familiar with the area, but I thought I'd give it a chance. I'm so glad I did, I order an avocado egg burrito she offered adding bacon. I accepted and asked for extra crispy bacon. I was tempted by the pastries because they looked delicious. I ordered champurado and three tamales. Everything is really good. Nice portions and good flavor. Salsa was perfect. It looked clean and they are very friendly as I was acknowledged immediately. They do have some signage on a stand outfront, showing daily specials that they offer. They also have coffee for sale, sodas and chips. I spent a lot of money to impress the office staff. I got burritos, tortas, tamales, bread and atole. Too bad it was soooooo spicy, we had difficulty eating. Even the most seasoned pro, regretted the red salsa. I'm a lightweight, I didn't think each item would be that spicy. I mean a torta, they soaked it with spice. I couldn't even pick it out. Definitely a hole in the wall spot in Santa Barbara, especially since it's tucked away from other spots. The workers were so kind and convincing, got me to buy a lot more food than I need; but I do not regret it since everything was amazing. The horchata was like the cherry on top, I feel like it's a must with their burrito. Only downside is that I wish there was space to sit down and eat. read more

Was working in the SB area and found this place on my yelp search, so I decided to try it out. It's ight across the street from the Santa Barbara airport, so figured was a good spot. When I arrived, there were a couple people hanging out and waiting for their order, but was able to order right away. Just after I ordered, several people showed up so I guess I just best the lunch rush. Still wasn't too bad tho. No dine-in seating so it's strictly a pickup and go place, unless you want to eat on the bench outside. Some of the pictures for the menu prices need to get updated, because the sandwiches average about $14 each. Ordered a few of the tri-tip sandwiches and a Greek salad. The sandwiches were great, as well as the salad. I would definitely come back next time I'm in the area. I keep seeing the breakfast burrito mentions...so REALLY wanna come back for that! Service - super nice and friendly. Took a minute (about 20) to get my order but I figured that's just how it is cuz I assume they're not heavily staffed, and they made everything fresh. I'm not sure if it was the owner, but a nice lady came out to check how folks were doing, and she seemed to even know a bunch of the regulars' names...which was a great thing to see. Parking - the parking lot shares a space with some other small businesses, and some of the spots are closed, so it's kind of hidden and not so easy to notice, especially from the street..., but I didn't have any issues parking even during lunchtime. read more

Delicious!! Breakfast burrito was made with a flour tortilla that was delicious. Also had the chicken Chipotle sandwich. A bit spicy, and delicious. The conchas were perfect. The place is small and inside an empty area, however when the linea are long, you know the food is good. I did have the cheesecake pastry. I didn't like that, but everything else was great. While in Santa Barbara, we found this hidden gem in Goleta. They serve breakfast, lunch and have various Mexican baked items. The breakfast burritos are a good size and loaded with tasty goodness. We tried the Chorizo, Bacon, and the Machaca con Huevos breakfast burritos. You can go wrong with any, but I really enjoyed the Machaca burrito. We also got some concha bread that was very good as well. There are many more Mexican pastries to choose from. The staff and service was great. The bakery cafe doesn't have any seating inside and only a small bench outside, so mainly take out. Check this place out for some good eats! Happy Nom Nom! read more

Such a hidden gem! Super unassuming in a more industrial area of goleta but worth a visit. Order and take with you style, theres nowhere to sit. Service is super friendly and welcoming. I can't even explain the extent of the baked goods they have there/make in house. A variety of traditional Mexican and French pastries. They were all so beautiful too. We got the guava turn over which was flakey and filled with delicious guava filling and a pastry custard. It was to die for. Sad we only got one. Cristino's is the kind of hole in the wall gem I love finding. Can't take the credit though - it was a friend who found it and suggested we stop in and try their goods. Walking in, immediately greeted by Juanita. So friendly and inviting. Imagine someone inviting you into their house and not just making you feel comfortable, but making you feel at home. That's how I felt. But, let's start off with parking before I ramble on and on. This tiny hole in the wall is located in an industrial like area. Think garage like establishments. There's parking but you probably won't need it because most customers are taking their orders to go. There's no seating inside or out. Just one park bench. No tables. I'd say order and take it to the beach. Not like we did. We ate it standing right outside the bakery. As to what we ate - we split a Milanesa Torta. So good. See pic. Tons of ingredients and even more taste. Just be forewarned - it's served with a grilled Serrano pepper. Of course it wasn't hot for me, but it was for my sensitive mouth friend. It was one of those sandwiches that I basically inhaled. I devoured it without once putting it down. Just the half was nice and filling. Even for me. And if you know me, you know how much I can chow down. We also had some Champurrado. After getting a sample from the gracious Juanita, I decided I wasn't going to share - so I ordered two. **February 2024: Monday Morning Visit** I had some disappointing Mexican food on my Santa Barbara trip, so I was really crossing my fingers that Cristino's would help me end on a high note. Located in a pretty industrial part of Santa Barbara, my friend and I had high hopes as patrons were all hispanic and appeared to be regulars. The hostess was extremely kind and friendly and made me feel welcomed. After pondering on what to order my friend and I decided to split a milanesa torta which was delicious! The bread had a nice crunch, but was pillowy soft and the ingredients on the inside were abundant. I really enjoyed it though I probably would request not jalapenos since I'm a wimp, but otherwise I would be happy to order it again or try a different torta. The half torta was very filling, but I would be curious to try their pastries as they did look freshly baked. Next trip! read more

The bad: the wait after ordering seemed a bit excessive. Perhaps prioritize the customers in front of you a bit over to go orders (which IS their main thing). Texture and the reason for the low review... potatoes were seasoned well but cooked to mush. Literally all the items in the burrito were the same consistency. Classic hole in the wall gem! I absolutely loved this place. Adorable staff, case full of ample sized pastry, including Mexican cheesecake tarts. Savory menu includes burritos and sandwich's. On our drive south to LA we wanted a quick lunch stop and Cristino's Bakery had such great reviews we decided to give it a try - and boy, all those reviews were right! First of all, the two ladies working in the front were so nice and personable - couldn't have been more welcoming. The one lady recommended the chicken sandwich which is served on an amazing Italian roll - perfect size for sharing btw - and comes with cheese, bacon, arugula, tomato and an epic Chipotle mayo. Delicious!! Easily one of the best sandwiches either of us have had. They don't have any seating available - it's strictly take out. But there is a beautiful county park about 10 minutes away with picnic tables and amazing ocean views...perfect spot to eat our fantastic sandwiches! HIGHLY recommend Cristino's Bakery!! read more
