My visit today was a let down. They didn't slice the bagel I took to go even though it was listed in my order. Both bagels were baked too long and were tough. The jalapeño and cheddar had a tough exterior , tasty interior, and an inedible bottom (see attached photo). This was the bagel that they forgot to slice. I also ordered a buttered plain bagel with egg. The egg was nicely cooked though it had the taste of a grill that wasn't cleaned properly. Yetz's bagels are the best quality in the area. While they're not 100% of the way there, they are close and I appreciated that they cook their eggs on a flat top and not in a microwave. A new and fresh pace to get bagels in IV! Yetz's is a nice spot to go and get your day started. Nice chill vibe with limited seating, I recommend just stopping in to get what you want! The staff is always friendly and my food comes out quickly! Their menu is limited, but still satisfying. I have tried their everything bagel with chive schmear, and garlic bagel with jalapeño schmear! Both very tasty. The bagels are super fluffy but have a great chew. Came here through an Elite Event, where we got to meet the owner and learn how to make New York style bagels from scratch PLUS sample their drinks and bagel sandwiches. Highly recommend the Turkey Melt on a garlic bagel AND add egg! Great balance of flavors - the red onion isn't too strong, you get your choice of cheese (I picked Swiss), and then there is a substantial amount of protein. Owner and cashier were SUPER NICE, and there are videos and posters explaining how bagels are made. Best bagels I've found in this slice of So Cal. I come from a family with roots in NYC, so we can be pretty snobby about our bagels. I've been pretty disappointed with the bagel selection around town, but was excited when this place open. They have a good hand, rolled classic bagel. I also tried one of their sandwiches. Came here on a Sunday because the line at Bagel Cafe was out the door, and I'm so glad we did. There was still a line out Yetz's door but it moved fairly fast. We probably ordered our bagels after a 15-20 minute wait in line and got our bagels 10-15 minutes after we ordered. The store gets pretty cramped, with two long tables inside and some outdoor seating. Being relatively new and so busy on a Sunday morning, I didn't think they would accommodate many swaps. But they did! I got the gaucho and subbed bacon with turkey + no cheese. The bagel was perfectly dense and chewy, could've been a little softer. Noticing that a fellow friend on Yelp (S/o to Richie D.) had stopped by a new bagel shop in Isla Vista, I knew I had to give it a go. Being from Upstate NY, I grew up with good bagels as a normal part of my breakfast routine. While I've found some bagel places in California that I really enjoy, it did feel like Santa Barbara was lacking a decent bagel spot. Happy to say Yetz's Bagels has addressed this issue. I came at 11 am on a Thursday to get a bagel. I knew I should've came sooner but accepted the consequences of my actions (only garlic and onion bagels were left). I ordered The Classic (egg & cheese) on a garlic bagel! After just a couple of minutes it came out warm and fresh. I drove to Goleta beach with my bagel wafting in the car and dug in once I got a place to sit. It was so good! The bagel itself had a bit too strong of a garlic flavor for my taste (in all fairness I would've ordered a plain) but it was still soft whilst having a bite to it. The egg was perfectly cooked, and tasted legit. I would've liked a bit more cheese and/or butter but overall was very pleased! One of the first things I noticed about the menu at Yetz's was that it's simple -- I love this! Unfortunately, some breakfast places tend to overcomplicate bagel breakfasts but Yetz's options felt spot on. If you're looking for some homemade bagels, Yetz's is a great place to come! This has become one of my favorite bagel spots in SoCal. It definitely raises the bar in IV and even the greater SB area. The scrambled eggs in the sandwiches are so soft and fluffy, complementing the dense and chewy bagels very well. My favorite is The Classic with everything bagel as the garlic flavor really comes through and each bite is packed with flavor. I also appreciate that it's wrapped as a good bagel sandwich should - cut in half vertically AFTER wrapping so each side gets its own wrapping. Finally had the chance to try Yetz and happy to say it lived up to the hype. I got the works (bacon egg cheese) on a garlic bagel. Bagel was super fresh and soft but had a nice crust with good garlic flavor. I prefer my bacon a bit crispier than most so next time I would ask for it extra crispy but overall 10/10. Say bye bye to Bagel Cafe. Yetz is so quality! Bagels are REAL bagels. Schmear is perfectly light and creamy. I got a SEC bagel (and added Jalapeño schmear) and a Works bagel both on everything bagels. Both were good but I would get the SEC+ bagel 100/100 times again. That was one of the better bagel sandwich I've ever had. Service was friendly and quick. Location was clean. Only minor improvements would be to add Egg bagels to the menu (and maybe for a change of pace, having a single "sweet" bagel like a cinnamon raisin would also be nice - I prefer that and plain schmear to a plain bagel with fruit schmear).
