Worst dinner ever . Bugs flying all around the silverware (thankfully silverware was wrapped in a napkin). Food was cold. Food quality poor. Restaurant interior dirty. I dined here yesterday and it was so gross. The tea and lemonade tasted like chemicals. My mom makes way better pulled pork - the sauce it came with was mustard-y and the meat just was fatty. What really got me was the Mac n cheese - 100% it was from a box. I cannot believe I spent $19 of my hard-earned money on a meal that made me sick for the rest of the day. Been back three times since my first visit and everything has changed since visit #1. The brisket has zero smoke flavor and the sides are also on the meh side. Stopped in for lunch with the team. You can smell the smoke in the parking lot. When you walk in you join the line to order your meal. They carve the meat in front of you and give you your plate with meat and a large roll. You continue down the line and serve yourself the sides. How much? As much as you can fit on the plate. After filling your plate, you pay at the register and find a seat. Drinks are self serve. The team ordered an array of items. I had the pulled pork which was full of flavor and smoke. The rest of the group tried the brisket, smoked turkey, and a smoked chicken salad (which was huge). All sides were tried and each received a thumbs up. The Mac n Cheese, cole slaw, green beans with bacon, corn on the cob, etc... Throughout the meal, a girl walked around with a basket of rolls asking if you would like another. I'm not a bread person, but the roll are large and fluffy. Worth a try. It's close to the office and lunch deal, one meat with a roll and unlimited sides, was only $9.99. Worst customer service ever. Never come back. I always like to go here but customer services not that good no more. The girl in the front where they order Togo. She claimed herself as a manager. Her name start with letter T but no one wanted to tell me her name. She's not even worth to be that title. I asked her for a bread Togo since I sat there waiting for so long. She's wanted to charges me for a roll with her ugly attitude. I don't mind paying but with that attitude? she act like I don't have money to pay for a F* rolls really? Overcooked and dry food plus terrible customer service!! We went here yesterday and ordered the beef ribs. They were overcooked and dried out, so we took them back to the counter. The employee, Lex, seemed annoyed and was very unpleasant with us. Her manager, Jeremy, was not friendly and not very customer service oriented either. No apologies, not even an upbeat approach. He told us we could exchange it for something, but not even willing to match the price we paid for. He was willing to exchange it for items that were $2 less until we showed him the menu and prices. Nonetheless, the food was bland and dry. Terrible customer service! Overall, the ambiance of a place can make up for not the best food! The Brisket was so good!!! I am not from here,only passing through, and Had no clue how any thing worked. Me and my wife were in line I ordered the brisket for myself and chicken for the wife. The brisket was suppose to be around 12 dollars or so. I got to the front and got charged a kids plate price. Not that I'd mind but I got a kid plate I suppose like 4 small slices of brisket. Every year Spring Creek gives teachers a 10 dollar gift card and it is just such a thoughtful gesture. We dined in and enjoyed bbq and the sides. The meat gets cold quick and I'm not sure if it's possible to get it to the table hot. The sides are very good and unlimited - I love the green beans. The fresh rolls are always abundant. But wait, there's more! Let me just say I don't like peaches at all, but my spouse wanted to share the peach cobbler with blue bell vanilla ice cream. Oh ma gawd, it was delicious! My husband and I was looking for a restaurant that we'd never been to before was really undecided on what we wanted until we smelled the beautiful smell of bbq coming from Spring Creek bbq. We went around lunch time today it was pretty busy but there was plenty of parking. It was clean and nice on the inside. The food is served cafeteria style and the grill is right next to the line so you can actually see the cook up close and personal cooking meat on the grill. The sides were Mac n cheese, wide cut green beans, baked beans, okra, potato salad, corn on the cob etc the baked beans & wide cut green beans look like it came out of a can. The Mac n cheese looked average nothing special the corn on the cob looked good but I wanted to try the potato salad and the fried okra. They were pretty tasty. It seemed a lot of business professionals were dining today. It's a pretty sociable place a great place for gatherings who like good bbq. Would I eat here again? Yes Would I recommend Spring Creek ? Is it bad when all you remember about the place are the rolls? The rolls were damn good but that is what really stood out in an average barbeque place. Been here many times because an old friend loves coming here all the time (probably shouldve voiced my opinion). Sausage is fine and beef is too but I guess I am spoiled by the barbeque served in Austin. The sides are average and the bbq sauce is eh. Desserts weren't bad but then again it's hard to screw up dessert. Service is fine, but overall nothing stands out to my palate. read more

Here's a clue for you--if you don't smell barbeque outside the restaurant, then you're not going to find barbeque INSIDE the restaurant. Drum roll please...... I think I have found it...the best barbeque place in Houston! Beats Goode Company, Rudy's (but I will always be loyal to the cream corn at Rudy's), and all of the other bbq places I've tried around Houston. First, it's QUICK. we were looking for a quick bite, and we got what we wanted. When you enter, like a lot of other barbeque places, you stand in line to place your order. The food: (1) I got the chopped baker, which is a loaded baked potato with chopped beef on it. The employees have a chant that they yell/sing/say for your order. I enjoyed it!! (and no, it was not distracting as I was dining). My chopped baker was incredibly huge! I got some bbq sauce for it, and stuffed myself silly. It came with some bread, but there was also a waitress that would come around with fresh bread every time the oven finished baking break. I was only able to finish half of the potato, so it's easy to split with another person or save for leftovers (how great for under $7)!! (2) the fiance and his mom got the chopped beef sandwich plate, which comes with the obvious chopped beef sandwich, plus 2 sides. He had the mac & cheese (not bad, not great, what mac & cheese should taste like and potato salad (which was great. I had a bite and loved it). The chopped beef sandwich is served without bbq sauce and you can get as much as you want to top it or dip it in. (3) fiance's dad got the ribs dinner plate. dinner plates come with the meat and all of the sides you want on your plate....plus, free refills!! (some sides may be considered premium, ie. loaded baked potato...in which case, it might cost a little extra). I tried a piece of the ribs and it was marvelous. the meat just fell of the bone and was so tender. He got the ribs that was cooked with bbq sauce on, but you had the option of no bbq as well. He tried the corn on the cob, potato salad, and baked beans, all of which he raved about. I did not try the desserts but they all looked so good. They even have fresh homemade peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream! I will be sure to save room for dessert next time. I am a big fan of sweet tea. Texas is in the south, so I thought they would have sweet tea everywhere, but nope! However, they had sweet tea here, and I downed 2 cups and even took one to go before I left...because it was that good! I noticed when someone makes a to go order, the cashier will offer him/her a drink while (s)he waits...on the house. how awesome is that?! they've done it to me a few times at pei wei, but have stopped, so i'ts pretty awesome to find a place with that much hospitality to offer a drink on the house. the place is also pretty clean. the a/c is blaring, and there's a room with a big screen tv so if some important sports game is on, you won't be missing anything. Will i go back? Definitely! Probably soon! (or at least, some to go order). I went to school in Austin and know what good BBQ is. We had Rudy's, Saltlick, and Stubbs. Im telling you. Its hard to keep on par with those places. When my co-workers told me yesterday that they wanted to go to Spring Creek BBQ I was extremely hesitant because Im not a huge fan of the strip mall restaurants that the suburbs are riddled with. Usually some degree of crap. Well I was wrong about this place. Got the brisket sandwich deal which came with your choice of two sides for about 9 bucks. Took me a couple seconds because i really wanted potatoe salad but chose the cole slaw and beans in the end. No regret. Everything was great. Then to top it all off, as we started eating a woman came around with a basket of rolls that might as well have been made out of gold. (but they were free) Overall a good stop at Spring Creek BBQ. Recommend it for those deprived of Rudys, Stubbs, and Saltlick -- not a replacement, but something that will hold you over until you get the opportunity to try those. read more

The barbecue is good, but the service is spectacular! Look its a chain, it ain't gonna be on the food channel because the line is out the door or the food is all gone by noon sort establishment, but it will do in a pinch. However, the staff is ultra friendly and customer oriented. My wife is allergic to Poultry (Chicken), but as soon as I said something to the young man behind the butcher block he was off like a shot to get a clean cutting board, knife, and gloves. I know I know who gets salad at a BBQ place but y'all their turkey signature salad is consistently delicious and fresh! Since I had a cranky toddler in tow I opted to order take out. I've been in search for good BBQ since I've been in Houston for the past 4 years. Having been living in Lawrence Kansas, which has some of the best BBQ (i.e. Grandaddy's, and Biggs), and living near the famous Kansas City BBQ, I was really hoping to be having some great BBQ again while living in Houston Texas, the nations 4th largest city. But to my surprise this wasn't the case, until as of late at Spring Creek BBQ. Now having tried most of the chain restaurants here, and some smaller individual places, all turned out to be very sub-par. The sauces were always too watery (and yes I do realize they are vinegar based, compared to KC using ketchup based) with no substantial taste behind it, the brisket was either way too dry or too fatty, ribs were never tender enough, and sausages tasting like some high-end Oscar Meyer hot dog. I found Spring Creek to be quite different, upon my first visit I ordered ribs, black pepper sausage, turkey all smoothered with their BBQ sauce, and of course some sides (cole slaw and potato salad). The ribs were excellent, and their black pepper sausage and turkey were really good too. Their BBQ sauce is just plan good, its not thin and watery, but not ultra thick, and it has all the right spices added. Sides are sides at most all of these chain places, most the time they are bad. Spring Creek's macoroni is not so good, but I liked their slaw and potato salad, and I also like the fact that you can put the quantity you want on your plate. I understand that Houston isn't Austin for BBQ (which is excellent) and I know that Spring Creek is a BBQ chain, but what else is their to say, they have good food. read more

First off, I live in Austin. I am not a newbie BBQ fan. While visiting family in Houston, my father insisted on taking me here, claiming I would never want to eat at Rudy's again. My father, an Asian immigrant in his 60s, does not know bbq. Since I'm not from here, I didn't know how ordering works. I had to ask the man taking orders questions about how sides work, what do you choose yourself and what gets delivered to your table, and he appeared more annoyed that I had to ask questions than anything. I had a sausage sandwich with okra. The sausage tasted like the shrink-wrapped kind you buy at the grocery store, but with a little more grease. The okra was doused in salt and I couldn't eat it. When we got to the table we noticed that we were charged for kids drinks and when we went back to the register we were told that it was b/c we grabbed adult classes for the kids, when we asked what was the difference she went to the back and brought out two palstic kids cups... so we asked for a refund and we're told they couldn't b/c we already used the glass... so somehow we were supposed to know that the cups put out were not for the kids and that we were supposed to ask for a secret cup from the back... very sad that they needed to earn money this way. Price: beyond the extra sodas, for a cafeteria style BBQ this place was way overpriced. Back to the food, while that left a bad taste in our mouths we tried to let it go and enjoy the meal and then we got another bad taste in our mouths. the brisket seemed over done and tough, the sausage seemed like something you can pick up from HEB and the chicken was oddly really greasy... I have visited Spring Creek three times and each time, I have been disappointed. I enjoyed my spicy sausage, the complementary bread, and the barbecue sauce. However, a good barbecue restaurant needs to have more things going for it than the aforementioned. Their brisket, coleslaw, potato salad, and beans are all subpar. We were out in Katy for a graduation and decided to stop by Spring Creek BBQ afterwards since it was on the way into town. The place is right off the highway with plenty of parking and a great service group. The people taking your order sing out the order to each other with a catchy saying for each type of order. The place was clean, well run, and had a fun environment. I got the chopped beef sandwich which was juicy and the bun was extra buttery. The sides were decent and the best part, they were unlimited. There is also a server who goes around while you eat and offers fresh baked rolls. THE ROLLS were AWESOME. Overall a good experience. read more

Spring Creek barbeque has one of the best Carolina Style Pulled Pork Dinners in Houston. The sauce is perfect, but they give you very little. Request extra! The side bar is all you can eat when you order a plate. The green beans, Mac and cheese, and Cole slaw are very good. I've never been particularly impressed with the potato salad. My favorite part is the fact that they bring fresh rolls around every few minutes. I make little pulled pork sandwiches with the rolls they bring around. This place is totally awesome! My husband and I make sure we dine here whenever we come to Katy. The employees are so helpful and nice. The BBQ itself is out of this world! I think it is my favorite anywhere! I have tried most all the meats (I usually do the combination ), the sausage and the chicken are juicy and yummy, but the brisket and the ribs are truly divine! The sides are all homestyle, and you can go back for more as many times as you like, although the premium sides are one time only. One of the premium sides is the loaded baked potato. It is very highly rated, though I have never tried it. One of their specialty items is the yeast rolls delivered fresh to your table. They are delicious! They have cobblers for dessert, which I find to be a perfect ending to a wonderful dinner! The prices are good, the service and food are great! I highly recommend it. :) read more

My recent visits to spring creek at 21000 Katy freeway Katy tx 77449. Let me say I'm a loyal fan BBQ lover eat here 2 to 3 times a week cause of the quality that is served. Today for lunch I stop by to get it to go. I go though the line I order the the sausage and brisket plate to go. As soon as I say to go I'm asked to go to the register and pay no big deal so I walk over to the register cashed retakes my order than states ok you will pay when your food is ready. Thought that was the reason for coming over to the register. So I get my food and she opens shows me the potato salad and beens meat is under foil I asked for extra sauce no big deal I get and leave. I get to work and open up tray and I have more fat than I do meat mind you I paid $11.85 asking me to leave and pay for this food while they cut it up and put in my Togo box was some of the worst cuts of the brisket you can serve people. I will think twice before coming back for a Togo meal. Host night Togo and receipt number #39. I will say this is a family owned business and after this report they contacted me offered a make up dinner which I didn't take. For some one to call and stand behind there product was good enough. I frequent this location all due to the food and service. When you first walk in you're greeted in a very welcoming way. I usually get the combination of ribs and chicken. The plus to this is you can get up and get your sides as many times as you want. It's finger licking good. The sweet tea is also some of the best I've had. I usually get the brisket, and you can't compare it to Rudy's or anything like that. It's a bit dry. Luckily, you can drown it out with some average bbq sauce. You serve yourself the sides. I usually get green beans and the mac and cheese. The mac and cheese is very runny, and has no cheese flavor at all. What saves this place are their fresh rolls. They bake them and bring them around to the tables every so often. You could compare the relationship of the restaurant patrons and the bread lady to that of people on welfare and the government....they're both just looking for handouts of some dough. My wife and I order from Spring Creek through Door Dash occasionally and it has always been very good to decent in the past, although the sides are always bland. Except for the fried okra which is awesome. But tonight I decided to try their Baby Back Rib dinner. I have had Baby Back ribs all over the south and a lot of the rest of the country and they have always been fall-off-the-bone tender, juicy and flavorful. But whatever kind of ribs Spring Creek sent me tonight--and I say that because they did not resemble any Baby Back ribs I had encountered before--were so dry and hard the meat was difficult to pry away from the bone with a fork, and equally difficult to chew. It was inedible even drenched in barbecue sauce. Whatever was wrong with my dinner, it should not have been served to a customer. Luckily my wife only ate half of her loaded potato, so I finished it (very good) with okra (ditto) and rolls. So I'm not saying I will never eat at Spring Creek again, but with so many other bbq choices in Fort Worth, it will not be any time soon. And NEVER the Baby Back ribs! read more
