I'm not sure why, but I have tended to rate barbecue on a Spring Creek scale. That means it is either better or worse than Spring Creek, which I have enjoyed for years. Prior to this location opening, I used to visit the Westgreen location about once a year. The smell of their bread being made fresh can only be compared to popcorn being made at a movie theater, which is likely a result of the butter. I usually get the spicy sausage and pulled pork or brisket, but I decided to get the ham this time. I almost always get their potato salad as one of my sides, and their peach tea is just so divine. Especially when it's mixed with the unsweetened tea or lemonade, the flavor is just so wonderful. I could do without the barbecue sauce, but I am very selective with that in general. They have a nice spread of condiments, but I wish they would include their baked potato toppings as self serve, like the other location. The staff are pretty patient and friendly, but that might be a result of visiting when its not busy. They do need to be a bit more aware of making regular rounds with the bread refill, though. Total cost $195.28 The ribs and the coleslaw taste good. The brisket, tho tender, seriously lacked flavor. The sausage lacked both flavor and smoke. The beans were inedible, one of the worst I've ever had. The peach cobbler tasted well, but it was barely any peaches. The green beans taste like they were dumped from the can and just boiled. I was pleasantly surprised. I've been here before, but I don't remember having a good experience. We came here for a school night event and the wait was very long, but it was worth it. The food options were really varied and everything was really hot and fresh. The portion sizes were great. The brisket that was moist and with extra bark and well marbled was super good and tasty. Not any big pieces of fat that we couldn't eat. I ordered the chicken because it looked delicious and it definitely was. The mac & cheese was good, also like the potato salad although it had probably a little bit too much dressing. The bread super fluffy and amazing. They ran out of glasses. I had to get a kids cup, but that's because there were so many people. Ordered a basket of fried okra. This one wasn't my favorite. I don't really like the batter they used, but it was fine. Things were a little more hectic since it was such a big event so tables weren't being cleaned often but I completely understand. Overall, really good. I didn't expect it to be that good. We have eaten at the one on 1093 and the one on Hwy 99. Both are very good and we have had great service the 5 or 6 times we have been there. Chicken, brisket and sausage are great, haven't tried the ribs. The corn, coleslaw, mac and cheese, potato salad and green beans were well prepared and fresh. The hot rolls are first rate and they just keep bringing them. The lady bringing the rolls laughed at all my stupid jokes. The place is neat and clean including the bathrooms. Came for a lunch with co-workers! When you walk in, you will place your order and walk through as they prepare your meat and select your sides. It's similar to a cafeteria style concept. Service was quick. The portions are very big! They definitely make the price worth it. I ordered the lunch chicken which came with two sides. I chose coleslaw and corn. You also receive a roll. At the end is a toppings bar where you can select some hot peppers, pickles, and onions. You will also grab a drink if you'd like and pay for everything before sitting down. Everything was wonderful. We stopped by to order to-go here today and it seemed like a lot of people had the same idea! While the parking lot was full, only two or three tables out of the large restaurant was taken up and full of people. There were lots of helpful workers and smiling faces! I walked up to the to-go counter and made my order. It took longer than usual since I've never ordered togo before and it has been awhile since I've been here. The only thing I recall was that dining in we were able to get seconds on sides (though I do not know if that is true anymore). The prices seem to have increased significantly on the plate orders, by at least $5-8 a plate, if not more. From the menus in the photos on Google reviews, it seems to have gone up because of Covid, like all things these days. With seconds for sides while dining in, it makes sense, but pricier for taking the food to-go. Still, everything costs more now, so I'm not blaming them. However, everything was delicious. We got two marbled brisket dinner plates with potato salad and Mac and cheese as the sides. Each order came with two of their delicious pull-apart breads and pickle spears or slices and peppers, etc. The marbling and smokey taste were perfect. I think each plate came with half a pound of meat and they offered to let me try some, but I declined since I trusted them. It filled both my husband and I up even as we gave our Mac and cheese to our kids for lunch. While waiting, I did ask for extra bread (they added four more!) and offered me a complimentary drink. I waited for about five minutes and my order was right out. There were maybe three other guests in line after me to order, too, so the to-go line was bumping! To be fair, I have never experienced anything but good service and adequate portions when dining in person; however my review is for the quality and quantity of my order which was submitted online and picked up by myself at the restaurant. I ordered a three meat plate with chicken, ribs and brisket. The plate came with two this slices of dry brisket( I asked for a mix of marble and lean) that were 3 inches long and one slice that was two inches long. This is nothing like you get in person when dining in. Additionally, the white meat chicken was very dry; almost un-eatable. The plat also included 2 St. Louis ribs that were the best part of the meal by far. Again, I have never had any complaint with the dine-in portions or quality, however the take portions and quality were not worth the money. I was disappointed and have had so much better dining in. It was too much trouble -rain, traffic, etc. to go back to the restaurant to talk to a manager that evening once I got home. Maybe they counted on that. read more

Another business bites the dust... Went in today to pick up 2lbs of marbled brisket for dinner. Now, there are ways to reheat brisket but whatever was done to this meat is an abomination. Smelled good, looked ...ok, but once I got it out of the foil it dried up like a raisin. All of the moisture just evaporated except for maybe 1 or 2 fresh pieces. Less than 20% of this brisket was edible. I contemplated calling them but somehow I don't believe this is a staff issue. I do like the fact that you can choose what type of brisket you want here. Also the unlimited rolls that they provide are yummy. If you haven't been before, there is a person walking around with a basket of warm fresh rolls that will come by your table 3-4 times while you are eating. I received a grilled chicken breast and a baked potato, which is equivalent to a Chicken Stuffed Potato, priced on their DoorDash menu at $9.95. This order was filled without contacting me and asking if I would accept the substitute or if I would like something else. I communicated with DoorDash and they promptly provided an account credit for the meal. I begrudgingly reordered 1/2 BBQ Chicken, knowing that I would have to pay another Dasher tip, which was not refunded. Then I thought to call the Spring Creek so they would not duplicate the mistake. I was unable to get through. In the meantime, I received a call from DoorDash indicating that Spring Creek had contacted them and told them they were out of BBQ Chickens. I canceled the order, accepted an account credit and ate what was originally sent. It was good, though not what I wanted. I later got through to Spring Creek by phone and spoke to an employee that apologized and handled herself very well. I like Spring Creek's barbecue. It does in a pinch, though this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Who makes a decision to substitute a chicken breast for 1/2 chicken? This is one of my favorite spots to go to but recently I am not very satisfied. If you know spring creek you know that their bread is to die for! Well I went to pick up a to go order & asked for extra bread. They gave 1 piece per meal (aka 2 breads)!! I'm shocked. They literally walk around with a basket of bread!
