Brisket boudin link with mild sauce
Vickie P.

We set out last night to find a new find in the Katy area. We selected this BBQ restaurant for our pick. We walked in and it is counter service and self serve drinks which is ok. The problem was before we even ordered we were given a list of the 5 or 6 things they were out of, not a great start. No restaurant should run out of food that is on their main menu. If it's a special, maybe, but not a regular menu item. So we ordered and waited for our food to be brought to the table. Great Sweet tea by the way !!! We had a party of 4 and the food came out pretty quickly. The brisket potato was good. The brisket cheesesteak lacked seasoning but once the sauce was added it bumped it up. The other couple had the house made Bologna sandwich sliced way too thin and tasted like jerky. Her husband had the sliced brisket sandwich and fries. He was very happy with his. The restaurant was not real busy so the ambiance but I can tell that the place is family friendly. It was very clean and decorated nicely. We would give it another try sometime and maybe it was just an off day but never start off with a LIST of things we don't have.

Delicious sausage with jalapeños and cheese, moist brisket and the coleslaw was savory as well! You get sliced bread with your order and plenty of condiments only Texans would expect! Another plus is that it only took 5-8 minimum to get our meal and that's with a long line to the door! Cashier and staff were smiling and welcoming and we just really enjoyed the dining experience. Our only slight would be the pork ribs being a little dry....thus the 4 stars. Overall, if you are craving Texas bbq or have guests in town then I would recommend this spot! Country ambiance and Texas taste!

Great BBQ spot with super fast service and short lines--rare for this chain. Brisket packs insane flavor (best I've had), though it's a touch dry (still easily 4/5). Everything tastes fantastic, love the regular (white bottle) and spicy jalapeño (red bottle) sauces. Condiments always fresh, place is spotless (including bathrooms), Diet Dr Pepper on fountain Apple Pay, and to-go boxes ready. Only downsides: prices are high (normal for good BBQ, but once-a-month treat), and trashing your tray is annoying--the lid is stiff and makes it messy. Solid 4.5/5. Highly recommend if you want flavorful brisket without the usual wait.

We came here to eat after a funeral. They were able to accommodate our whole party of 40. They were very sweet and nice responding to all our requests and needs. As we entered, they had reserved all the tables in the center of the restaurant for us. We wanted to get the whole Texas bbq experience so we ordered 2 family platters which included 2lbs of brisket, ribs, and 6 lbs of sausage (3 types, normal, jalapeno cheddar and bouron sausage) and 8 types of sides. From collard greens to coleslaw to potato salad and mashed potatoes, everything was delicious.

$26.90 before tip as of Sept 2024.

Not my favorite spot in Houston, but it beats having to wait in long lines before opening for BBQ (such as places like Pinkerton's or Truth BBQ). I ordered the 2 meat platter for $26.90 (Sept 2024 price) before tip (not sure if you are suppose to tip at these places or not, but I did anyways). I thought it was expensive for what you get, but it was filling and enjoyable. The brisket had a good burnt ends. The sausage was great. The collard greens were nicely seasoned and the corn bread was enjoyable. I appreciated how the condiments and sides are plentiful and self serve. Overall, it makes for a solid BBQ meal, but nothing outstanding enough to draw me back in. Perhaps I'll go again to try the Rueben sandwich they offer on Thursday. Service was ok. Nothing over the top. Just ordered at the cash register and received the food at our table. Everyone at my table was a bit surprised that my meal cost this much. If I would have ordered a drink, it would have toppled the $30 mark (including tip) for lunch. Your best value would probably be to stick with a sandwich. Parking is plentiful because the restaurant is part of a commercial shopping center. Being some deep pockets, an empty stomach, and check this place out if you are craving good BBQ.

Texas caviar coleslaw and pulled pork

I thought the BBQ was great. I like the location because it's new and modern including the fact they have a full bar. Not sure people will be hanging out here for the bar but it's nice to have. The fact the place had plenty of seating, mostly to do with not many people here was nice since there was no crowd to fight. The Texas caviar which is a side had way too much Cilantro in it otherwise it would have been better. Everything else was better. I would pick here over many other BBQ joints. This isn't my favorite spot and even though I found some faults I think they did enough to warrant a full 5 start rating.

Sliced Brisket Plate and Pork Rib Plate SO GOOD
Maggie C.

This was my first real Texas BBQ and it did not disappoint! The staff displayed real southern hospitality and the food was fantastic! The brisket was so soft and the pork ribs were nice and juicy! My favorite part of BBQ is the SIDES. The corn cake, collared greens, potato salad and mac and cheese were all great. This was actually one of my favorite Mac and cheeses! Not too salty and very creamy. The sweet tea was not too sweet and I added some sprite and lemons- I can't stop thinking about it. Don't skip the pickle bar either! I wish I had some spicy pickles back here in California!

I've eaten here numerous times and it is always an excellent experience. The food is all next level, but then the location is great, the people are always super friendly, and the prices are very reasonable!

Their food is top notch. I'm dying to try their ribs. The brisket will melt in your mouth. Tater salad is delicious and so is the coleslaw. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. When I went, they had buy two pounds of ribs and got one free. They like to get your sides ready after your meat or chicken is done. Double check your bag because they forgot one of our sides. Don't leave your sides behind. When you walk in, it smells like bbq. They have the utensils in a dispenser along with the napkins. They have mild sauce and spicy sauce. They have pickles, onions and jalapeño peppers sliced. Definitely try their desserts. You'll love them. If not, walk out the side door and take a dozen steps and you'll walk right into House of Pies.

We were staying at a hotel close by in Katy and didn't want to drive out during rush hour to Downtown Houston for BBQ so we searched on Yelp and found Roegel's. First things first, the service and hospitality was exceptional from beginning to end. All the staff we encountered were welcoming, friendly, and helpful. That being said, the food unfortunately did not live up to the reviews. Sliced Brisket Plate ($19.99): 3 slices of brisket with choice of two sides which we opted for the mac & cheese + potatoes. The brisket was a miss as it wasn't juicy or tender/melt-in-your-mouth as we had hoped. Nice little fatty later on top of the brisket to compensate but it just wasn't enough. Brisket Sandwich ($13.99): The chopped brisket in the sandwich was much more flavorful and tender though the entirety of the sandwich itself was on the saltier side. I ate the sandwich along with pickled onions which was a great pair but wish there was jalapeños as well as I've seen in the condiment pictures. Smoked Sausage (~$7): Casing of the sausage had a very good snap to it. Great dipped in a little bit of BBQ sauce. Bread provided complimentary with your meal. The bread was outstanding and suuuuuuper soft/fluffy. Private shared parking lot amongst other businesses in the plaza. No issues finding parking as there was ample.

I haven't been to this spot in years. I forgot how good this place was!…read more Music is always popping here. I came in on a Friday night, and they had a live DJ playing. The music is a mix of EDM, Hip-hop, Rap, and R&B. They have tables and bar top seating. If you have a bigger group, I'm sure you can find a table depending on the time you arrive. There is a lot of seating. To start off, I ordered the Matcha Martini. It was STRONG omg, definitely a sipper, but it was so good. It was creamy and had a good matcha flavor. I love how they added matcha powder on top. For drinks, I also tried their espresso martini and Bubbly Pineapple. The espressos here are good, no complaints. The Bubbly Pineapple is so cute; it comes out with a bubble of smoke you can pop. The drink is very refreshing; it really tastes like pineapple. FYI, the drink has little black seeds, so if you don't like textures in your drink, maybe this one isn't for you. Also the drink came with a little frozen pineapple you can add to your drink once you pop the bubble As an appetizer, I got a dozen raw oysters and decided to add the $5 tobiko (fish eggs). Let me say, they were not stingy with the Tobiko, there was so much on my Oysters, I mean a lot! The oysters were good, and so was the tobiko, but I feel that with so much tobiko, it kind of took away from the oysters. Still good though, especially for $21 for the dozen with the tobiko! It was very filling I'm not gonna lie, I got pretty full with the oysters, but I still had to eat my entree As an entree, I ordered the Short Ribs, which came with rice and a side salad. I didn't think I was going to eat much of my entree since the oysters had filled me up, but I ate the short ribs down to the bone! Every single one of those ribs I devoured, no meat was left on my plate. I didn't have space to eat, but my stomach made space for this. 10/10 would recommend the short ribs, especially with the delicious sauce it came with. I think it's like a fish sauce 10/10 for food and drinks. Bonus: the staff here is really friendly. I really enjoyed my time here. I need to come more often for sure, this is definitely a Katy gem

Had no reservations anywhere on a Friday night but called GiAu Bar n Bites & they said come on in, we don't get our crowd till late night. It was fairly empty at 7:30p but by the time we left at 9:45p there were a few more ppl. Funny thing is, the age of most customers was 40-60s. The music is pumping loudly with no DJ but at 9p the DJ came in & took the music up another level! I think the older folks come out early & likely the younger people take over after 10 or 11p. ( I won't be able to confirm that theory cause I'll be home by then!) Food & services were good as usual. The bartenders do a great job check them out!

They acted giddy and happy to help us put everything together, reassuring us that they would be there to support us on our big day. That all changed the moment they got paid. On the day of the event, we only saw the owners twice, and neither time was to help us. When I walked up to the owner to thank him for having us, his response was completely unprofessional: "Are you kidding? This is for you, you paid for it." The only other time he approached us was to aggressively complain about someone taking up two parking spots--and it wasn't even one of our guests. They also explicitly promised they would check on us throughout the event to see if we needed refills on water or drinks. They completely ghosted. We never saw them, and our guests were left without service. It has been three weeks since the event, and we haven't received a single follow-up call or text to ask how things went. They got their money and completely checked out. Nice place, but terrible owners and even worse service. Never again will we book with them. I visited during lunchtime for the AYCE and it wasn't bad at all. I tend to lower my expectations…read morewhen it comes to AYCE and revolving sushi, but 25 Sushi House does it well. The selection is a bit more limited for lunch, but the price is lower than dinner as well. Being AYCE, I wouldn't expect the highest quality, type, and cut of fish, but what they had was pretty solid, tasted fresh, and was delicious. A minor complaint would be they had no sashimi option, even for the tamago which I personally believe is eaten best without rice, but that's just minor stuff considering the good value here. As much as I try to find a reason not to give this place an outstanding rating, if I compare it to the AYCE category of restaurants, it did everything right. They do have a regular a la carte menu, with a selection that looks like a treat in itself. As for me, I highly enjoyed their jalapeno bomb to start. I highly doubt they used snow crab, tasted like imitation crab, but I enjoyed it nevertheless and got another order at the end. I tried a few nigiri while I was here, with eel being my favorite (and thank goodness for no bones, which was lucky because it's eel). Their tacos were an unexpected standout and is worth a bite or two. Using sheets of nori and frying it to it holds up like a shell is pretty genius and more places need to do this. I had a good time with their Burning Alaska signature maki, which has salmon as the main star. The smokiness from torching was a killer! Their curry reminded me of S&B, which might very well be the mix they used. I was a bit disappointed to not see fish katsu as an option considered it's a sushi place, but I can see the katsu curry selection being a good option as a comfort dish. I wish I had the stomach space to try out new stuff, but maybe next time. Wish someone would post a photo of the salmon skin salad, because I'm a bit curious about that!

It would be worth trying if we were hungry and had a huge appetite. Hubby and I shared the tempura udon, the hamachi collar bento box, and he got some sashimi while I got the tamago and blue crab nigiri. The portions were big and generous and also reasonably priced. I like the udon a lot even though the broth was a bit sweet for me. The tempura was delicious and perfectly fried. The hamachi collar was a large portion but a bit dry. We're used to having hamachi collar that is more buttery than what we had at twenty five. The sushi was ok too. Wasn't the best we've had but we expected that so we weren't let down by the sushi. Overall the staff was very nice and attentive despite being busy. The restaurant was clean as well. I do enjoy the large parking lot they share with surrounding businesses.
