I would definitely get this again. Matt got the jalapeno cheeseburger, which had two thick beef patties side by side on the jalapeno bread...at $18.95 it was actually a pretty good deal. This is the first review I've written in years, but I needed to say it because other customers…read moreshould be prepared for what they may encounter at this business. From 2020 on we used to get food, snacks, beer and other stuff here very regularly...like three times a day sometimes. We got dinner from here at least three times a week and we loved it. At some point a new owner took over and a lot things went downhill. We eventually had to stop going there all together because of all the mistakes and lack of accountability. We recently tried them again and was happy with the food. Well, that was short lived. The last three times we've placed an order online it hasn't even been started by the time they said it would be ready and we have to wait. In addition to that, it has been totally wrong with missing items each time. It happened again this morning, our order was missing two orders of hash browns. I called the listed number in an attempt to get a refund (because this is the third time and it's adding up) and it's off the hook, busy signal. This isn't new. The kitchen literally takes the phone receiver off the cradle so that they won't receive phone orders. My husband has witnessed it in person. Apparently they don't want to cook. Since the renovation the phone is digital, but they still turn it off. This has been happening since the new owner took over and he won't do anything about it. This is strange to me. Doesn't he want business? Anyways, sorry for the long review. We can't get food here anymore (again) because times are rough (again again) and I'm not going to buy from a shop that won't refund for wrongly prepared or even completely missing items. Bye Elmwood Market (AGAIN, out of chances)!

The seitan really surprised me with the texture and taste, and the sandwich was packed with so much flavor. It was way more filling than I expected. They make their own sourdough in-house, and it really takes the sandwich to another level. I also tried the peach basil hand pie (not pictured), which was a first for me because I'm not usually a sweets or pastry person. It was too cute to pass up, and I'm so glad I tried it. The filling-to-pastry ratio was perfect, not too sweet with a nice glazed crust on the outside. I didn't get much basil flavor, but overall it was still really good. I heard they switch up the flavors often, so if you see the peach basil one, grab it before it's gone. The staff was really friendly this time around. Everyone was warm and welcoming, and I loved the small-town feel of the bakery. I can't wait to come back and try more. 9/10.

After a long drive to have brunch somewhere on Elmwood, just to find the doors locked, I ventured…read moreover here to have lunch and it did not disappoint! First off, I was greeted and found staff friendly and efficient! You have plenty of options for seating .. dining area, front bar, back bar, even an outdoor patio bar. Although it is dive bar-esque, it was nice and clean (let's be honest .. some dives have a stench and stickiness that can definitely ruin your appetite, no matter how much you may love them). They have a set up for bands to play, as one was playing while I was there for their 2 year anniversary (congrats!). What was nice is although I could hear the band (it was playing in the back and I was up front), it wasn't over whelming me. I have eaten places where, no matter where you sit, it's extremely loud, and I appreciated that you had a choice here. Now onto the food: The food should have been doomed to fail; my tastebuds were prepared to eat sweet, buttery, syrupy French toast with a mocktail at brunch elsewhere. But wasn't hyped about the menu because of this (which is not dog and pony's fault .. I had to work and didn't have time to research where else brunch was available). I settled on the umami smashburger by a suggestion of my waitress. Now once again, could have been doomed to fail as I'm not a French fry person and my favorite cheeseburger is one I make on my own. BUT WOW their food blew me away and made me forget all about my brunch let-down. The French fries were fantastic and had a great seasoning on them! The smashburger was great to the last bite .. and I was NOT expecting to finish it as it was a really nice portion (I ate lunch now 10 hours ago and didn't need to eat again it was so filling!) but it was so dang gone good I sure finished it! Smoked cheddar .. chimichuri aioli ... kimchi bacon jam .. oh ya that bacon jam was EVERYTHING!! Thank you to the staff at Dog and Pony for making my long drive worth while!

When we got home, our credit card company alerted us to two fraudulent charges on the credit card we had used for lunch. This was the only business where our credit card was taken out of our sight and returned to us that day, so naturally it raised concerns. What has been even more disappointing is the complete lack of response from management. We have called four separate times, each time being told there was no manager available. We left our name, phone number, and a detailed message on every call, yet no one has returned our calls. We understand that fraudulent charges can happen for many reasons, and we're not accusing anyone of wrongdoing. However, when a customer experiences something this serious, the least a business can do is respond promptly and take the concern seriously. The lack of communication has been extremely disappointing.
