The almond square reminded me a bit of an almond ring, with almond paste filling layered inside a flaky, tender, buttery pastry. It had that rich almond flavor without being overly sweet, and the texture was spot on. The pistachio snack cake was soft, moist, and delicately nutty--simple but really satisfying. Almost teacake-like. The cranberry orange scone brought a nice contrast with bright citrus flavor and tart cranberries throughout. It had a great crumb and just the right balance of sweetness and tang. Loved the dried orange pieces. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully made. Definitely a spot worth stopping by if you're in the mood for excellent pastries!

I finally had the opportunity to sample some of their baked goods with a good friend. Everything we had was delicious! On a Saturday, around 8:15am, I pulled up and found the last available parking spot in their parking lot. Parking in their lot definitely was tight, which really surprised me since it was barely after 8am, though I did see quite a few cars parked along the street. Walking up to the main entrance, I could see a good-size line that went right to the door, which ultimately is a good sign. Once in line, it moved pretty quick as I was in line for maybe 10 minutes, max; Everyone was smiling, soaking in the vibes so that made time go by easier. Inside it isn't too big, but it's warm, cozy. I noticed a few tables and chairs but most of them were already filled but I was there to pick up a few treats, not to sit and eat. The manager ended up taking my order and cashing me out - She was very pleasant and courteous! So, what did I pick up? I went with one almond square (a flaky pastry with a buttery almond center and toasted nuts), the rotating scone flavor, cranberry-orange, and a snack cake, which the flavor for that day was pistachio. Everything sampled was phenomenal! The flavors were spot-on. The flaky, crunchier texture of the almond square was excellent and the almond center was so good. My friend and I loved the pistachio snack cake - So moist, a nice heft to it, and the pistachio flavor was very pleasant. The cranberry-orange scone was big, the inside was soft and had plenty of dried orange pieces and cranberries. The exterior of the scone was softer, but not too soft. The size of each of these baked treats were plenty big and the price I paid for each was incredibly reasonable! I'd been meaning to try Miller's Thumb Bakery for quite a while and I'm glad to say it was worth the wait! Friendly staff, fresh, high quality baked goods, reasonable prices, what more could I ask for? I look forward to coming back another morning and trying a few more treats, maybe even grab a breakfast sandwich, a coffee, and sit inside and soak in the cozy vibes.

So weird...I was excited to try breakfast here this morning. I arrived around 8:30am but the…read more"closed" sign was up on the door. (Also- the hours online and Yelp/Google Maps are different than what's posted on the door.) I decided to see if the door was open in case the sign just wasn't flipped to "open". It was UNLOCKED, and so was the second door! I was able to go INSIDE the cafe, even though it was clearly empty and no one was there...no food in the display case either. I even called out "hello??" a couple times to no response. Why were both doors unlocked if the cafe was clearly closed (even though according to the hours on the door it should be open...)

The first thing I appreciated was, the Owners and staff members. They are genuinely, a very happy group of people. They are super friendly and engaging. I also like the fact you can dine in or even do takeout. Today I decided on takeout.. the serving sizes are very decent, and the prices are more than fair. I strongly recommend checking them out. Breakfast sandwich- choice of bacon or sausage. Really nice satisfying sandwich. I really like the type of roll that was used. Plus the sandwich wasn't greasy or sloppy at all. Breakfast bowl- For me, I was able to share with my wife. The to-go container was pack. Every bite full had meat, cheese potatoes, and eggs. The ingredient ratio was spot on. You didn't have to much of this and not enough of that. Chicken and waffle- breast was moist and seasoned well for my liking. I loved the waffle flavor. Whatever waffle mix they are using. They need to keep using it and never change up.

I was grateful to be in sturdy jeans rather than linen pants or a delicate skirt that could have been snagged on the broken fabric. Eddie, our server, was friendly and offered recommendations when we couldn't decide. Sadly, he was the only server working on a Sunday night and while the restaurant wasn't packed, it was busy enough that we waited longer than we should have for our food and our payment to be processed. I ordered the truffle fries which was the best decision of the evening. The malt vinegar aioli was an interesting accompaniment. I also ordered the gouda bacon burger. The brioche bun was fluffy and buttery, the burger (which I was not asked my cooking preference, med, well, etc) had a crispy char on the outside and was nicely pink throughout. I specifically asked for no chips, because if I was eating truffle fries, I was not eating homemade chips and I didn't want them going to waste. I did get 3 pickle spears instead, so the rest of the plate didn't look bare. My friend ordered the Walnut Brussel Sprouts and Pumpkin Risotto. The sprouts were undercooked and the risotto was cold and overcooked. The food options were pleasantly varied and I would have loved the opportunity to try dessert (I love creme brulée) but perhaps going another day when there are more staff. Sorry all, no pictures this time.
