We've eaten at Spitz for quite some time now and it was really good when we first started going. The last 5 months or so we've come back in hopes it would taste as good as it once did but the food just isn't good anymore. The fries taste old, greasy. The chicken three times now tasted reheated, one time it was rubbery like it was microwaved and the other times room temperature at best and you could taste that it was just not fresh. Maybe lunch leftovers. The quality has gone downhill in a major way. We were hopeful but after our last visit this week I'm sad to say I don't think we will be returning. read more

I am a big flavor and texture person and every item I've tried so far has made my eyes bulge out like a cartoon. So far I've had their wraps, sweet potato waffle fries, and wings. Wraps- perfect size! Amazing flavors and textures inside. I ordered as is and it was amazing! Sweet potato fries- crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Well seasoned and the sauce that is served with it is so so so good. Wings- actually, same description as the fries haha. Different sauces but both so so yummy. Ambiance is awesome! I honestly really like Spitz. My husband and I frequent this place when we want something quick, flavorful, and in the realm of healthy (or at least easy to make healthy lol). I appreciate their discounts on first time catering orders and more. We have catered with them as well and it was a seamless process. When we asked the person at the restaurant said they were slammed. This was not our problem. A few minutes later she said she would refund us, we asked her to again check on the order. We came here on their grand opening and were super impressed. It is more eclectic than your typical Mediterranean fast casual restaurants. My boyfriend ordered the zesty feta wrap and I ordered the Berliner wrap at the recommendation of the guy at the counter. They messed up and brought me the Street Cart wrap instead. They let me keep it and brought out the Berliner, so we had the opportunity to try all three. I was super impressed by the quality and flavor of all three. The Berliner is definitely a standout with its unique sauce. Their loaded fries look amazing and I definitely want to try their bowls and gyros as well. We've been eagerly anticipating the opening of this restaurant and were so excited to get an invitation to attend their grand opening on June 21! Apparently everyone else in Placentia was excited to be here too...the place was hopping with good music, good energy, and others looked like they were enjoying the food as much as we did! Although there's plenty of space for everyone to sit (great bar, high tables, low tables and outdoor patio complete with a fountain!) we opted to take our food to go. But we will definitely come back for an inside dining experience. After being given a thorough explanation of the menu, we opted for the medi bowl (although next time I'm totally going for those street cart fries!). One of us had the medi bowl with rice and the lamb/beef combo (excellent!!) and the other was the medi bowl with quinoa and falafel (delicious). There is a lovely combination of flavors and textures, super fresh feta and veggies. For a side we had the crispy pita chips with hummus and the regular fries. The fries have a perfect crunch and the sauce that's served alongside has the right amount of garlic. The crispy pita strips...the name says it all! I could have just a bag of those and be happy! All in all, this was A LOT of food and very delicious. As we left with our to-go order, we met the owner, Rebecca, who was grateful we came in. Like the rest of the employees today, she was friendly and invited and welcomed feedback. We will definitely be back and are excited to have a new dining experience in the area! read more

I have tried other places like: NTG (I'm not going to say the name, just the initials, because I don't want to be rude but IYKYK), and it was too salty. The flavor profiles were missing something too. I am extremely critical of Mediterranean and Greek food because I have honestly had the best of the best! Spitz in Placentia is INCREDIBLE! The inside is such a vibe too! You legitimately feel like you're somewhere completely different. The staff is really nice as well! And my gosh, for someone who doesn't drink sugary drinks, there is a HUGE water dispenser infused with different fruits! What!!!!!! For "fast food," that's unheard of. I actually like the fries more than I do the gyros. A combo meal runs about $17.25 and it's worth it because they have these amazing waffle cut sweet potato fries that are so good! They're thin waffle fries so they're crispy and have a really good seasoning on them that's not over powering and whatever sauce it comes with compliments it well. I recently ordered the mixed meat wrap and I'm sure it was good, but there's so many flavors happening at once. The first thing I tried from here was their vegan chickpea wrap cause I was feeling healthy and same deal, lots of textures/lots of flavors. I actually couldn't finish it because it was so flavorful and saved half of it for later and while I wasn't the biggest fan of the flavor, it did keep me full! I'm going to keep trying more from here for sure, but just know, this is not like any other Mediterranean place I've tried. Same concept, but flavors are a little different. I couldn't even fit it into my mouth so I had to eat it with a fork. gf got a berliner wrap which was also up to her standards in terms of quality.
