If you're looking for an outstanding steakhouse, one of the best salad bars around, or the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion, you need to give Sperry's a try! One tip, make reservations! This place is popular and can fill up quickly. After being seated, they bring out warm bread with butter that melts right into it. It's the perfect way to start your meal. Next, head to the salad bar, which can be selected as one of your sides with an entrée. Trust me, it's a must! It's one of the best salad bars in Franklin, with a great variety of fresh ingredients. For my entrée, I ordered the Filet Oskar, and it was absolutely fabulous! The filet was cooked to perfection, topped with plenty of lump crab meat, and the flavor was incredible. I highly recommend it! I paired it with a loaded baked potato, which was the perfect complement to the meal. Since we were celebrating a birthday, the staff surprised us with a complimentary dessert, the famous Sperry's "Snowball" Sundae. Wow... it was soooo good and the perfect ending to a fantastic dinner! One of the biggest reasons we keep coming back is the service. It is consistently outstanding. The staff is attentive, friendly, and always seems to anticipate what you need before you even ask. What really makes Sperry's special is the extra effort they put into celebrating special occasions. They come to your table, take a group photo, and then present it to you in a commemorative paper frame. It's a thoughtful touch that creates a lasting memory and shows they truly care about their guests. If you live in Franklin and haven't experienced Sperry's yet, you're missing out. Whether it's date night, a birthday, an anniversary, or just a great steak dinner, this place delivers every time. Cheers!

I completely understand why Sperry's is considered a Nashville institution. From the moment we walked in, we were drawn to the beautiful dark wood décor, romantic atmosphere, crisp cloth napkins, and impressive salad bar. There's definitely a classic charm here that makes the restaurant feel special. You could also tell this is a beloved local favorite. Several guests clearly knew the waitstaff by name, and the bartenders seemed to know exactly what their regulars were drinking before they even ordered. That kind of loyalty says a lot. Unfortunately, it's been a few weeks since my husband and I dined here, and the one thing we still talk about is how disappointing the seafood tower was. At $150 for two people, the portions were shockingly small and felt nowhere near worth the price. We received 3-4 inch pieces of snow crab legs, two tiny strips of lobster (that looked more like grilled chicken strips), five pieces of shrimp, five oysters, and four scallops. For that price point, we expected something far more substantial and impressive. We dine out often and understand market prices but the cost compared to what was served, was well above 'market.' The experience overall had so much potential, and the atmosphere truly delivered. But the seafood tower was a major letdown and left us feeling disappointed, especially considering the cost.

We went to Sperry's while I was visiting in town, and I gotta tell you, it was fantastic! We were seated quickly, and Madison, our server was awesome!! The drinks came quickly, she took our order and the food was fast too. I had the 8oz fillet, it was awesome!! This was like beef cotton candy, just absolutely melted in my mouth! The setting is fantastic too, a little dark for my taste, but it added to the experience for sure. I'd highly recommend that if you're anywhere near Sperry's to go, it's worth the trip!!

Sperry's Steakhouse was absolutely delicious -- and yes, that is the word of the night: DELICIOUS. I actually came here solo for my birthday dinner and it was kind of by accident... but let me tell you, it was the best accident. From start to finish, everything hit. The crab cakes? Delicious. The steak? Delicious. The creamed spinach? Delicious. The mushrooms? Delicious. The lobster mac & cheese? You guessed it -- delicious. Every single bite hit all of my taste buds. It was rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked across the board. Of course, I had to get a dirty martini with extra olives -- my absolute favorite -- and it was made just right. Parking was easy, customer service was great, and the atmosphere was beautiful. I even ordered dessert. I haven't eaten it yet, but yes... you guessed it. It looked delicious. No complaints at all. I will definitely be returning.

I was in town with my Aunt and Uncle and we were late to go to lunch but Sperry's was still serving lunch ever around 2pm. It is a surprisingly walk in for your first time. The outside area looks good but when you walk inside this place it is way more than just good. This is a very high level restaurant and it was only easy and quick for us to walk in since we were at the odd time of the lunch break. This place is for sure a place to go to if you're from out of town and had never seen it. All the people that live near there go to that place constantly for sure. It's way too cool and the food is seriously delicious every single bite.

One of the best classic steakhouses we have in middle TN. They are busy 7 nights a week so make a reservation. They have a dress code that's really business casual but if you don't want to follow that, you can be seated in the bar area. I've been half a dozen times, always order steak but this trip, did their roasted prime rib. Great change, cooked perfectly. They have a small but nice salad bar and I'd recommend their garlic housemade dressing. It was our 31 wedding anniversary and my wife had the 8oz center cut filet. We started with the smoked salmon and toast tips. I had a manhattan and she had a martini. We finished with their special dessert, bananas foster that is prepared table side. Great staff and service. I'm originally from Vegas and it has that classic Golden Steer vibe, like old Vegas.

Had a fantastic lunch at Sperry's in Franklin, and it was exactly the kind of classic steakhouse experience you hope for. The atmosphere is timeless--rich wood, warm lighting, and an elegant setting that makes the meal feel special without being overly formal. We started with drinks at the bar before being seated, and everything from the service to the pace of the meal was spot on. Our server Laura was outstanding. She was attentive, friendly, and very knowledgeable about the menu. She made the whole experience feel relaxed and welcoming. The French onion soup was excellent--rich broth with perfectly melted cheese and great flavor. For the main course, I ordered the steak topped with lobster, cooked medium rare, and it was absolutely perfect. The steak had a beautiful sear, tender and juicy inside, exactly how a great steak should be prepared. The lobster was sweet and buttery and paired perfectly with it. Alongside grilled asparagus and fresh bread, it made for an outstanding plate. Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere. Thank you to Laura and the team at Sperry's for a wonderful lunch. We'll definitely be back.

Lucky enough to have Sperry's for a work event last night. This is almost the same order I reviewed recently, however it highlights one of my favorite things about Sperrys, CONSISTENCY! Started off the meal with the smoked salmon dip which was a huge hit at our table! Subtle hints of smoky flavor and no fish flavor to be found, mixed with a small baked flatbread/toast for a great appetizer. The mango and sausage stuffed mushrooms, again. This flavor combination sounds so off if you haven't tried it but the savory and sweet combination is incredible. The 8oz flier presents much larger than a typical 8oz (never a bad thing) and was cooked PERFECTLY medium rare. Seasoned to perfection with just salt and pepper. The asparagus was wood grilled or charred and had a slight woody/smoky flavor because of it and was also seasoned with salt and pepper but could have used a little more salt for me. The loaded baked potato is as immaculate. The potato itself was cooked incredible, very tender with no hard or tough spots inside. Smothered in a layer of cheddar cheese. The coolest part of this experience was that it was a work event with a pre fixed menu. Typically that results in subpar menu options, food preparation and quality from my experience. However, everything came out perfect. (Also reason why I don't have as many pictures as usual for this review) The server was exceptional, I lack his name, but he helped us pick out the perfect red wine to accompany our meal, and even got one of our patrons a Caesar salad instead of house salad despite it not being on our pre fixe menu. I had never been to the Franklin Sperrys before, only the original location. Upon entering you would be hard pressed to tell the difference between the two. Both have a dark lit environment, and exact same layout almost. Another apologies for lack of pictures compared to my normal reviews as it was a work event and very dark in our private room.

Went with a girlfriend before a movie, was a great way to start the evening. I was thrilled to see they had crab bisque, something I always love to order when I see it on a specials menu. Nice lumps of crab, absolutely exquisite. The bread they serve was perfect to sop it up with. I had an ahi tuna tower, friend had the steak frites. We both enjoyed our meals, she loveddddd the béarnaise sauce so if you are a fan I would recommend getting. Service was okay, nothing to write home about for us. You could say he gave us time to talk, but the pace felt like he forgot about us. The interior was beautifully decorated and comfy feeling, would definitely go back.

    Medium for her.

Just a quick update because they are still rocking it. This is one of the most consistent and excellent restaurants I have ever experienced. I almost always...well, always get the prime rib. It is amazing how perfect it always is. Service is always spectacular. Friendly, helpful and unpretentious. Perfect for special occasions or if you just want a really excellent meal.

Culamar is drenched in natural light and decorated simply - nothing too loud or busy about the place, thus perfect for a working lunch. The menu was odd and we all struggled to understand the categories it was broken up into. Each item read as a series of arbitrarily listed ingredients. Our (half asleep, disinterested) waitress informed us the dishes were, in majority, "tapas style", a term I find exhaustingly passé. I began to dream of restaurants down the road we could have selected, but we were here and we must stay the course! I had to keep it together for Dennis. We ordered 6 dishes for the three of us to share, and you know what? They were all excellent. Really such outstanding bites. I was stunned by how much I enjoyed the beef carpaccio, the calamari was the best I've ever had (amazing tempura fry!), the Gnuddi (basically a massive gnocchi) in browned butter and crisp sage was a pillowy delight. In spite of my initial concerns -- the hiccups of a confusing menu and our less-than-energetic waitress -- we all left with pleased palates.

The food itself was absolutely delicious. The bread was AMAZING and honestly one of the highlights. We also ordered the oysters, beef carpaccio, and duck, and everything tasted incredible. My biggest complaint is the price for the portion sizes. I really don't mind spending money on a nice dinner, but every dish we ordered was gone in what felt like less than a minute. Everything tasted amazing, but for the amount of food you actually get, I just couldn't justify the prices. We actually left and ended up going to another restaurant afterward because we were still hungry, which was pretty disappointing considering how much we had just spent. Overall, the food was delicious, but between the extremely small portions, high prices, tight space, and slower service, it just wasn't worth it for us. I'm glad we tried it, but I wouldn't go back.

He asked her to pick a good red wine that was middle of the road and her option blew him away. It was very good. I got a red sangria and was pleased with it, I prefer mine to be sweeter though. Their bread was delicious as always, crab dip was very good! Wish I had more. Their Caesar was much larger than expected so we shared it but it was good. Whipped potatoes are very good! Overall enjoyed my time here and after all: two glasses of wine, two sangrias, bone in ribeye, Caesar, au gratin potatoes, filet medallions Oscar, whipped potatoes and crab dip we had a bill of around $225.

I'm guessing that's due in part to Maverick, the General Manager, who seems genuinely committed to excellence. We actually came back this week because we realized we'd enjoyed our meal so much during our last visit that we forgot to take photos for our review. Believe it or not, we nearly forgot again! I rarely eat bread, but I always make an exception for the Spent Grain Loaf. Paired with the unbelievably fresh butter and flaky sea salt, it's one of my favorite things on the menu. My husband ordered the Prawn Cocktail. I'm allergic to shrimp, so I couldn't try it myself, but he said it was outstanding. I usually order the Koji Ribeye, but this time my husband claimed it first, so I ventured out and ordered the Alaskan Halibut with hash brown crust, orange vinaigrette, and watercress. It was absolutely delicious. My favorite side remains the Roasted Carrots with Leiper's Fork honey and tarragon--they're incredible. We finished with the Carrot Cake. It's less sweet than the version served at another well-known Franklin restaurant, which I actually prefer. The flavors are more nuanced, and the crunchy shredded carrot on top adds the perfect texture. The food was, as always, exceptional. We were fortunate to have Jeff Paul as our server again. He's knowledgeable, attentive, and strikes that perfect balance of being available without ever being intrusive. That said, we've honestly never had anything but excellent service at 1799. Maverick stopped by our table and was warm, engaging, and genuinely interested in making sure every guest had a memorable experience. It's clear he takes great pride in the restaurant, and it shows in every aspect of the dining experience. 1799 continues to be one of our favorite restaurants in Franklin, and we can't wait for our next visit. -Wendy & Ben Ellis

Does it warrant $215 for two entrees, a couple of drinks, and 1 side, probably not. Cedar plank salmon and the halibut were our choices. They are some of the lower priced items on the menu at $28 and $38 respectively. Steaks start at about $70 and go to $189 or so for the tomahawk. The place is cool and clean, part of the Harpeth Hotel. For a Thursday night, there were far more empty tables than occupied ones.

The duck fat fries are really addictive and truffle aioli pairs well with them. Also had a chance to try their ranch and that was tasty and did leave that sour taste like store bought ranch. Service Exceptional! Sat at the bar and was immediately greeted. Had the time to relax for a bit and review the menu with no rush to order. Able to accommodate food allergies and had the food brought out quickly. Amibiance Bright, inviting and a nice view of the lake. PLENTY of seating all around. The public house is behind the pizza spot so keep that in mind when heading in. It's nice to be able to look out at the lake and the green area before getting to the restaurant. Would I go back? Absolutely! Want to try many other items on the menu like the lemon pepper calamari, shishito peppers, and the smoked sausage.

So I would recommend coming on a night you're comfortable just going with the flow. Otherwise our waitress was great and the food was good! Their outdoor patio is beautiful and we had a great view of the sunset! Definitely would come back for drinks and apps with friends to sit outside by the fire pits!
