They really have some rude and disrespectful people in their employ. When you call for reservations, they act like you are bothering them and they do not try to accommodate you in any way. They forget, they exist because of us, the customers that bring them business and it seems they lose sight of the fact they should be pleasant and helpful and not dismissive in their dealings with the public. Sick of the attitudes some of the help displays, like you are a bother. I will gladly take my business elsewhere where they show interest and make your dealings in their establishment pleasant, not combative. Maybe better training would help. My wife and I had reservations at Sperry's Saturday night. We actually went to the wrong location and they called the Cool Springs location and told them we were on our way. Our waiter, Alfonzo, was excellent, and very accommodating. But the food...beyond excellent. The Filet Oskar was amazing, the best steak I've had in a long time. My wife had the blackened prime rib, she loved it. Couldn't leave without the bananas foster. It was perfect. We'll be back in Nashville in a little over a week and will be back with our daughter. This would have been our first time at this Sperry's. On the advice of friends, I made reservations 3 months ago for my wife and I for Valentines day at 6:30 pm. We found out that my wife had pneumonia the day before (2/13). I called the restaurant to cancel our reservation. I was told by the manager that we would still be charged a $50.00 fee since I didn't cancel 48 hours prior. What the heck, we didn't plan on my wife coming down with pneumonia. And I don't think our 6:30 time slot on Valentines day would be hard to fill with their alternative reservation wait list. UPDATE: First off, I received an email from Kaitlin apologizing for the situation and refunded the charge on my credit card. Thank you! Second, my wife and I were in the area today and decided to try lunch. We ordered from the dinner menu. She had a filet and I had the combo of a filet and crab cake. The filets were definitely grade prime. I was a Navy pilot and now a retired airline captain. Saying this, I've been to many places and I don't think I've had a better crab cake ever. Great job! Went with a large party (group of nine plus a new Baby) on Christmas Eve after church. Everything was cooked just right and we have some picky folks in our family including some who like well cooked steak ( no accounting for taste). The French Onion soup was great, my wife had New England Clam Chowder which was a special and we had raw oysters and fried oysters ( another special not normally on the menu. My wife had steak and lobster and I had the ribeye, both perfectly cooked. Great shoestring fries. We wanted dessert but were just too stuffed. Our experience with the Toffee pudding was great last time. Also had a variety of cocktails in our group, Martini's, Old Fashion's, Margaritas and Bourbon on the rocks all excellent. This was the Cool Springs Sperry's but the inside is exactly like the original we usually go to. Our server was Amanda, who did a fabulous job with our group. Have driven by here many times but never visited, so my wife surprised me with an anniversary dinner here. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the food was terrific and the atmosphere was really great. I had the NY strip which was cooked to perfection and my wife had the steak frites which she loved. Garlic mashed potatoes were nicely seasoned and the salad bar was fully stocked and had house made dressings. I went to Sperry's last night on a Wednesday night. I put my name in for a table at 6:05 PM. The person I spoke to said that it would be a 30 minute wait and I agreed to wait. We did not have a reservation. After waiting for 50 minutes, my boyfriend went to the hostess and asked how much longer it would be. She told him that it would be another hour. I understand that we did not have a reservation, however, when you tell someone that it is going to be a 30 minute wait and it's actually almost more of a two hour wait, that is not acceptable. If the wait time had increased since we arrived, we should have been communicated with. The hostess said that they were running slower than normal because of some issues in the kitchen. I can understand that sometimes that may happen however you cannot tell someone 30 minutes to wait and it's actually two hours. They just let us sit there for almost an hour without updating us so when we were told that it would be another hour we left. We were very disappointed because we were really looking forward to a good steak and salad. I would not recommend coming here unless you have a reservation. Very disappointed. read more

Traveling south my family and I spent the night in the area and decided to eat at Sperry's because it was close to our hotel, the quality reviews, and they stayed open late. The place reminded me of a supper club in the north woods of Wisconsin. The place was packed when we arrived but We were the only table in the building for the second half of the meal which was fine with us. To start our meal we had bread, salmon, crab cakes, and escargot. The star was the salmon which our server told us was prepared daily. It was absolutely amazing. Salads come with the meals and I had some of a wedge and some French onion soup. The dressing tasted like it was homemade it was good and had a hint of nutmeg I think that was tasty. The soup was solid with a flavorful broth. For dinner we had a mixture of steaks, lobster, halibut, ahi, and lamb chops. Everything was good and was seasoned nicely. After receiving a gift card for Sperry's a year ago.... I decided it was finally time to use it. Dad's birthday is this weekend, so we ventured here last night for a nice dinner. Interior was a little dark and tables too crowded together for me. I could hear every word being said at the tables next to me. That said, service was fantastic. I can't remember our guys name, but very attentive and customer service was tops. They want you to have a good experience. Food, nothing to complain about there! I got the Caesar and the filet and crab cake combo. Ordered it medium rare, but more rare then medium. It was perfect! Warm and very very pink in the middle.... As every steak should be (on my opinion). Crab cake was loaded with huge chunks of fresh crab, no filler. Didn't love the mustard sauce it came with. I wish it had a spicy aioli or something with more pizazz, but still darn good! My parents were jealous of my salad. They both picked the salad bar option and regretted it the second they walked up to the salad bar. I didn't see it, but very unappealing and underwhelming they said. Of all the things I miss about living in Franklin Sperry's is close to the top of the list. The food is quality and the service is superb. It's some of the best prime rib and steaks anywhere. They don't rush you to turn a table. Your server monitors your table as you move through drinks and your salad as not to bring the entree too soon. Kate was an amazing server! The food was, as always, delicious. Three in our party had filet mignon, one had filet and lobster, and one had chopped steak. Everyone was very pleased with their food. We all ended dinner with the Bananas Foster made table side and it was perfect! Oh heck yes, highly recommended! What a great place to enjoy a dinner and guaranteed to return. The place has a warm setting and it is just plain cool, they did a great job building this place and you would never know it since it's in a strip mall setting. Service was extremely good, they were polite and on top of everything, made their presence as needed making sure your meal was perfect and table cleared if needed. I don't even go out of my way for reviews because the places I go already have standards in place but the few times I do I 100% want to acknowledge the most under appreciated aspect of the experience and that's the server. So many times do the pretenders only acknowledge the food when they know full and well that without the service the food doesn't hit the same. Clark is exceptional. He made a night that me in particular, I don't consider special even tho to my most significant it is. It's the little things, it's the reliability, its the tone, it's the subtle things that pretentious false natives take for granted. I'm HOA level of criticism worthy but Clark made me want to come back more than seldom. Sperrys is no longer an event restaurant for me, it's a staple. Came here with a larger group (we had reservations) after it had been recommended by multiple people. The waiters were super attentive and kind throughout the entirety of the service and made some helpful recommendations. To drink I had the pineapple martini which was actually quite tasty! For dinner I had the New York strip medium well. It was slightly overcooked when they served it (more like medium) but was still pretty tender. Unfortunately, though, it lacked any seasoning at all. Like no salt, pepper, or anything. I tried adding some salt and some Sperrys seasoning which was on the table but it really didn't do much, even as I added progressively more seasoning. I had some of the lobster Mac and cheese, fries and mushrooms as side which were relatively good. The salad bar was included as well and it was okay, certainly nothing to write home about. For dessert, we had the bananas Foster's which was made right in front of us which was cool. But it unfortunately ended up tasting like banana baby food and was relatively inedible. The sticky toffee pudding and brownie were much better by comparison. In all, I was not very impressed by the food here though I did enjoy the service. read more

I can't believe Sperry's gets such high reviews. I have eaten here several times and have been underwhelmed with the food every time. In May 2026, I met with friends for lunch. I ordered the clam chowder bisque and Farm House salad. When the server placed the bowl in my plate, he sloshed the contents. That's OK if I was dining at Cheddars, but I was at Sperry's. The Clam Chowder was bland, so I added salt. The more I ate the more clam grissle I found and had to remove it. I eventually avoided the clams altogether and ate the little potatoes, instead, adding salt, of course. Then the salad came. It was very fresh but was drowning in salad dressing. I ate the driest lettuce pieces I could find and left the rest. My friend's loaded baked potato was swimming in cheese and butter. The oil from the butter had separated and was clearly visible on top. Ick. Their Sunday brunch is very good, however. Save your money on lunch and dinner and go for their Sunday brunch, instead. read more

As having been here several times before when in the area, we knew what we wanted. The salad bar is always good. It is well stocked and great variety. We passed on appetizers and one of ordered the filet Oscar and I got a bone-in-ribeye. Both of our meals were cooked to perfection. We had some sides and they were of sharable size. The hot carrot cake was our choice for dessert. It's not a traditional carrot cake but it's definitly good and again of a sharable size. We left very full and totally satisfied. I have lived in Nashville my entire life and grew up going to the original Sperry's in Belle Meade. I still frequent that one at least once a month, and have never had a bad experience. When I'm in Cool Springs for work, I like to go to Sperry's in Cool Springs when I can. It typically lives up to the original, until last night. I have never had a rude server, but last night it was clear our server did not want to be there and had zero personality. He questioned everything we ordered, but the worst was when we ordered a cafe sperry for dessert. He literally said, that's not a thing. I assured him it was and always has been and that I've had them at both the Belle Meade and Cool Springs location. He pulled out the dessert menu and I pointed it out to him. He laughed at me and said no one has ever ordered that! Apparently the bartender had no clue either what it was as we were served plain coffee with a little whip cream on top. Definitely NOT a cafe sperry. He then got attitude, did not apologize so we ended up paying and leaving. I was very disappointed. My coworker is from CA and this was only his second time going to Sperry's. We will definitely not go back. There are much better options in the area. read more
