Very affordable well drinks and beer/wine, $14 signature martini menu, and nice selection of appetizers for happy hour, all in a very classic steakhouse setting. Besides the fact that the food is excellent, and the ambience is cozy and warm, the staff is exceptional especially Vince!!!!! My family and I went for the Early Bird and each had a burger. We sat in the bar there was a party of post golfers and wives... they were SO LOUD and kept stopping by to loudly apologize. Very bizarre. Let me just say the black bean soup was amazing! The salad bar was ok- that dressing was hard to eat color wise. And no ranch... I don't understand. The seared Tuna was also very delicious. So I've always wanted to try Sperry's, but I never got around to it. I always read Yelp reviews before deciding on a restaurant. I can't believe I made reservations before reading reviews. I decided to read the reviews 2 hours before my reservation. Most recent reviews discussed how Sperry's wasn't social distancing and that the tables are extremely close. I immediately got nervous and decided to make a backup reservation at Conner's Steak House. We get to Sperry's and get seated right away. It looked like Coronoville inside the restaurant. I couldn't believe my eyes. They set us extremely close to another party. I asked to be moved to a back table where I felt safer. Honestly I should've just left. The restaurant needs training on what social distancing is. I waited 3 weeks to write this review Incase I had symptoms. Thank God I didn't. If you're looking for a socially distance restaurant, Sperry's isn't it. Besides the extremely packed restaurant, our food and service was amazing. Every dish we had didn't disappoint. I won't be back anytime soon. I may revisit once the pandemic is over. 3 stars for the food and service. -2 for not following proper social distancing guidelines. read more

This is, hand's down, my favorite place to eat!! My second favorite is Kayne Prime but I think the food here is better and not as expensive. Also Kayne Prime has croutons that are so hard you could chisel a diamond with them. The service is always great, the ambiance reminds me of my childhood and the classy joints my family would go to for special occasions! I love everything about it! GREAT PLACE TO EAT! I'll admit, I was sort of scared to eat here because it's so nice I was concerned I'd need my suit and tie. Thankfully my collared shirt and pants were fine. I thought this place was wonderful. All the cool old decor is worth a visit alone. I got a New York strip and sincerely enjoyed it. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly. They didn't have a regular baked potato available at lunch which was sort of a let down but understandable. But the real star of the show here is the staff. The manager seated me and made me feel welcome. I chose to sit at the bar since I was alone and the bartender was awesome. I don't drink so I didn't test her skills. But I bet she would kill it. She never stopped working the whole time I was there. The other two servers in the area was awesome and super engaging. I love it when I can go to a restaurant and be treated like a regular even if it's my first time. So all in all, make sure you give this place your business. UPDATE: Less than 2 hours after my review posted, the General Manager, Devin, personally reached out to discuss my experience, and I am happy to report he is addressing it with his team. I will be giving this restaurant another try and will update this review accordingly. Heard about this iconic Nashville place for years and finally booked a reservation for 2 for a birthday dinner -- and am sorry to say it did not live up to the reputation. The entire experience was average, at best. We sampled multiple appetizers and had the prime rib for our entrees. Absolutely nothing remarkable about the food, while the Lobster Mac and Cheese was so watery -- like a cold soup -- with zero flavor; I had to ask the waiter to take it back. When I made the reservation, I noted it was a birthday, and also told the hostess upon arrival AND told our server. And...nothing. The only acknowledgement was when the server said my friend could have a pudding cake or ice cream on the house. I'm pointing this out because the table next to us was also celebrating a birthday -- and the other wait staff made a nice to do about it. I want to be clear that the staff we interacted with were all very nice. Another thing that kind of surprised me was the reservation confirmation I received specifically highlights their supposed "Dress Code" policy. Apparently, it is in no way an actual policy, because nearly every customer in there did not adhere to it. Many people were in flip-flops, shorts, and t-shirts. There was nothing about the food program quality we experienced that would suggest this is a fine dining place. I spent $240 for the two of us with NO liquor -- we don't consume alcohol -- for, as I said previously, an average meal. read more

I couldn't imagine, trying to run an upscale dinning facility right now. I also used to be a server and bartender for many years. The good. The charm factor, is something you cannot get anywhere in town. Super cool, very chill vibe. My pork chop was pretty solid. Twice baked potato, was fantastic, and something not many places offer. Nobody complained about their food, but nobody raved. The need improvement. Salad bar- Although super clean/tidy, wasn't much to it. Maybe instead of who baby carrots dumped in a container, they can slice/julienne the larger vegetables. Always had a long line/created extra walk around/detours for servers and staff. Maybe move the location? REALLY SLOW beverage delivery. We had a party of four, and where there for two hours. We each ordered our first round of drinks when seated, and finally got our second cocktail delivered as the check was coming. Here is the kicker, and I noticed it all night long. Our server, although nice enough, was CONSTANTLY in the weeds/behind schedule, because he was busy making every table a Bananas Foster. I get it, super cool to be make table-side. But that was the primary reason we couldn't get a refill on cocktails. What was 7 cocktails total on our check, could easily have been 10-11. Again, I want to help, not just leave a terrible mediocre review. So, saying that, why not have one or two dedicated staff, that only make the dessert. This would allow the servers, to focus on their customers. What gave me the rub, was I knew when my server did actually show up, it would be for a few seconds, before I "lost him" for another 20 minutes.
