Flakey, fluffy and layered so it's a good size. We order the Southern Benny with chronic bacon on top (best recommendation by the staff) instead of ham and a poached eggs. The gravy was phenomenal and flavorful and it's a plate lickin meal. Grab a Waffle and Berries if you want a little sweet but together you could share it all, which is what we did. I couldn't have picked a better place to try on the first day in Franklin. The staff was so sweet and the restaurant even had a coffee bar, upset I didn't order coffee but always next time!! Let me just say this place still has the magic. Years ago my wife and I fell in love with Biscuit Love at the Gulch location. We came for the bonuts then and today we came back for them again. They are just as incredible as we remembered, pillowy and warm, rolled in sugar, topped with a generous swirl of lemon mascarpone, and served over blueberry compote. A perfect start to the day. Breakfast kept getting better. The bacon was thick, sweet, and crispy, easily some of the best we have tasted. The Southern Benedict stole the show with perfectly poached eggs, shaved ham, and rich sausage gravy standing in for hollandaise. The grits were creamy and full of flavor. The only coffee option was iced, but it was smooth and refreshing. The restaurant sits in an old home just off the town square, and that setting adds loads of charm. When you arrive, the team hands you a number and directs you to a specific table. To be honest, I did not love that system. We wanted to sit by the window and gaze out, especially since only three other tables were occupied during our visit. It felt a little rigid for such a laid-back spot. Parking is a bit tricky, with only a few spaces right out front, so plan for a short stroll. Our shared breakfast for two plus the iced coffee came to about thirty-five dollars. Unfortunately Biscuit Love missed the mark. There was a line out the door on a Saturday morning at 10, but it went fairly quickly. You enter the house turned restaurant and order at the counter (they have some shop items that you can look at on the way!). Prices are a bit steep but we had heard good things so we didn't mind. The food took about twenty minutes. Before the plate even sat down, I noticed a HUGE hair on my food which was upsetting. I immediately said something but the waiter didn't say anything except a huff as he took it back. He came back about two minutes later with the exact same plate just sans hair, which is icky to say the least. The food was cold, and the tables are stacked right on top of each other. Service was not the best. The patio looked really nice though, and probably would've been worth sitting out there. With so many great options in the area, we won't be back. read more

This was amazing! They were packed for brunch on Sunday morning but we ordered quickly and didn't have to wait for a place to sit. I liked that we could go refill our waters on our own too. We waited by the coffee bar and it was clean with a very cool modern but industrial like feel. Nice place for a breakfast date. The latte was creamy goodness but I'd ask for more espresso. We took our order to go, and we went in. Everything was delicious but i felt my biscuit was a tad bit dry--that maple syrup at the bottom saved it. Not certain what's not to , well, love about this place. Retrofitted into an old house, this restaurant is in the tidy, affluent Franklin neighborhood. Street parking is augmented by a nearby garage. Walk in, order and pay at the counter. They assign a numbered table, get service, enjoy. If, like me you are thinking sort of buttermilk biscuits you'll be pleasantly surprised. I'd say the layered, flaky pastry is closer to croissant than biscuit. Breakfast is done like it should be. Over easy is runny goodness to be mopped with pieces of biscuit. The food is pretty good, but boy does their operation need work. There were four people ahead of me in line and it literally took 20 minutes to buy a cup of coffee because the cashier kept leaving to smash boxes, go find tables and I'm not sure what else. They should have two cashiers and other staff should be doing the work not related to customer service. If they insist on locating a table for you (not sure why that's necessary), they need to have another employee handle that as well as bussing dirty tables. The cashier needs to STAY at the order station so the line can actually move. read more
