Then....I saw that my review was a decade ago! (That was back when it was a little farther out of town and in a smaller place. So, I came back, anew, to enjoy again. Hands down, this is a friendly establishment with a staff that is welcoming, polite, helpful...and ready to serve you. The interior is open and sports a nostalgic look with large tables accompanied by old (but sturdy) mismatched, carved-high back chairs. Yes, you can sit by yourself, but if it's busy....scoot over and invite a new friend to join you. Most tables seat 6 or 8 -- more "communal" style in a sense. Step up to the counter and order from the solid, albeit mundane, menu: eggs to order, meat side, potatoes, biscuit & toast...gravy if you like. They'll bring it to your table. Nothing fancy. My wife's eggs were scrambled, but not fluffy....rather flat like an unfilled omelet. My over easy eggs were close to perfection and oozed a rich yolk sauce on my deep fried potato cake. Yes, I would have preferred authentic hash browns or "home fries". But this worked for the occasion. Biscuits were buttery and tender. Coffee - average. Sausage patty appeared to be cut from a commercial roll - fried well and tasty. My wife's bacon was absolutely to her liking (hard to get right sometimes). But her's was spot on: very crisp, not burned. Lots of grab and go sandwiches for sale....check out other reviews and photos. Before you leave, pick up a couple of fried pies. (Ten yeara ago I had the peach - yummy. This timr we took home both apple and cherry. Slightly - not overly sweet fillings and a great afternoon treat. Dough was slightly different this visit. (You can see that in my pics...if Yelp still has them available.) As for the "Market" aspect of the name....that is a bit of a mystery - not a lot of market goods were readily visible. Oh!...be careful parking. The unmarked "street side" parking is tight and cars can come barreling down Hill Street. There is apparently more parking on the back side (towards downtown area). All-in-all the vibe was a bit like my Grandma's Country Store (1940-50s) a place where I was born and raised...friendly, comforting, congenial. And, a return for lunch is in order - the menu sounds inviting ... I hope another 10 years doesn't pass before I make it back for that. PS: very clean restrooms available too.

Our server, James G, was fantastic. Such a warm and engaging person. The atmosphere is classy without being pretentious. James was a great mixologist, and I tried both the Hibiscus Sour and the Dreamsicle. Both were great, but my fave was the Hibiscus Sour. There is also a butcher shop at the front and the very sweet expert helped us to pick out a A5 Wagyu steak that we're really looking forward to trying. The service was quick and efficient while maintaining a friendly atmosphere. The staff who helped us, Hannah and Marissa were delightful. The staff greeted us warmly and the cozy restaurant makes you feel right at home. Their biscuits are small but tasty, especially when accompanied by their jams and gravies. I love their Sawmill gravy and I'd strongly recommend you add the hashbrown casserole to any breakfast you order. The coffee was fresh and my eggs were cooked perfectly. I look forward to returning!

We stopped in after reading reviews and had a day planned at Henry Horton State Park. I ordered the waffle with bacon and hash browns. My mom ordered a western omelet with hash browns and toast. My waffle was cold and looked like it was cooked on a waffle maker that needed to be cleaned. There were black specks everywhere. These same specks were also on my bacon. The waffle was very soft and was cut in four with pieces that had fallen off when taken off the waffle maker. Unfortunately the hashbrowns were not edible. Perhaps if I had ketchup but I couldn't get past the strange taste. My mom's omelet was very cheesy-that's good but the meat was not cut in small pieces before being added to the omelet. She had the same potatoes and yeah still not good. Honestly we threw most of our meal away. Whomp whomp cuz we normally love small family businesses.
