After meal- it was so good!
Annette B.

Stopped in for lunch and so glad we did. Great southern menu. One n m party had beef liver and onions and found it to be excellent. I had the Fried Chicken salad and it was huge and very good. It had a great mix of lettuces, boiled eggs, tomato, cucumber, red onion, and perfectly tender fried chicken cutlet on top. Forgot to get pictures before eating. Service was fast and friendly. The decor is log cabin cozy. Will definitely stop again when passing through the area. Very conveniently located to Interstate 40 in western middle TN.

Chicken and dumplings, meatloaf, okra, green beans, fries, and a free smile

We dined on a Tuesday evening. We were greeted right away and promptly seated. The service was outstanding and they made you feel right at home. The sweet tea was incredibly delicious. We also had chicken and dumplings, meatloaf, and a bowl of soup. The food was delicious and the portions were good size. Definitely worth the stop if you are in the area. Would we go back? Definitely!!

I ordered the chicken and dumplings dinner with green beans and baked apples. I definitely would not recommend the apples because they're not baked all the way through and they leave the skin on. The green beans were amazing. I left the chicken because it's canned chicken and it was not very tasty I expected legit fresh chicken. My daughter got the kids cheeseburger and mashed potatoes with gravy but they forgot the gravy

Nothing too special about this restaurant. Customer service was sub par and food was mediocre. The fried jalapeños were pickled then fried. Not my favorite..

Great food, great service and super cute building inside and out. Don't sleep on this place! Food tastes better then the picture looks! Hope to stop on the way back!

Another out of the blue Yelp bookmark coming in for the road trip lunch win! On the a trip down I-40, this place is strategically located near nowhere. It's in the most perfect place it possibly be though, where I needed them, 15 minutes up the road. Anywho, it was easy to park, get in, get a table, and have a pleasurable lunch. We even picked up goodies to-go for later. It's an old log cabin, but is really well kept, clean as a whistle, and looks brand new inside. Some strange architectural and decor choices, but it's cool. Server was as sweet as she could be, everyone was.... An old couple even brought one of the cooks a gift for graduation or something while we were there. Awe! Super sweet exchange. Our food was really good. I had chicken livers and some veggies. Tasted great and was exactly what I wanted. Jalapeño Cornbread Muffins were a let down. The rest of my good food as hell!!! Loved it Kid had a burger, ate every bit of it. It was perfectly cooked medium and looked really good. Wifey had the grilled chicken sandwich which was actually shockingly good. Way better than I ever expected. Fries were tasty. Yum. yum. Yum. Fried pies were meh. Pork rinds were meh. Oh well. Can't all be winners. '24 - 59/100

Fried Bologna and chicken fried steak sandwiches with fries.
Janet V.

We had the fried Bologna sandwich and the chicken fried steak sandwich. They both came with fries. The portions were very large; we could have split a sandwich. The fries were coated and very crispy; the best I've had in a long time. Stop by if you are passing it on the highway. You won't be disappointed.

Traveling from Memphis to Nashville (3-hr drive) and stopped at 'the Log Cabin' for lunch. I had researched this place before the trip and learned they served fried chicken livers. The restaurant is a true Log Cabin and our visit was excellent. It's hard to find a restaurant that serves chicken livers. Seems like a lost food item. My grandfather loved fried chicken livers and I grew up eating them with him. To me, this one food is a fond memory to my grandfather and it makes me happy when I find a restaurant that has them. The chicken livers at the The Log Cabin are FANTASTIC!!! Note: yes, Cracker Barrel serves fried chicken livers... and I've had them up and down the eastern coast but they are always over fried, tasteless, and make great table rocks.

We stopped here on our way home. This place has a very homey feel to it and the staff was just so sweet. It was a little chilly where we were sitting. The first meal ordered was the 10 oz ribey steak medium that came with buttered toast, corn bread muffin and the sides chosen were green beans and cabbage. The steak was cooked amazing, the color inside it was absolute perfection. The taste was more of a rustic way with no seasonings added to it. I added salt and pepper just for my preference. The toast was delicious. The corn bread muffin was good texture wise, my preference is just sweet corn bread. Now the green beans, my mouth waters just thinking about them. They remind me of my grandma's and how the flavor just lingers in your mouth. I would eat a big order of these by itself. The cabbage was cooked great. I just didn't enjoy the red pepper flakes in it. The second meal ordered was the pork chops with Mexican corn bread muffin, fried okra and mashed potatoes with gravy. So let me just tell you, the pork chops were literally finger lickin good. When you cut through them it's like cutting through butter and the flavor was perfection. The Mexican corn bread muffin was very good but if you order this be ready for a little kick with it. The okra was absolutely fantastic with the perfect crunch and the okra inside wasn't mushy. The mashed potatoes and gravy made me feel like I was at home eating with my family. Desert we ordered the peanut butter eclair brownie. It's got great flavor and is like a wet brownie because its incased in everything but it was very yummy and hit the spot. Our experience here was dee exactly what we needed today.

Fried cheese curds. Soooo good!

Portions were small (other than the prime rib, which was the weight it was supposed to be). Sides are extra and small portions. Dinners came with a frozen crappy breadstick, not at all the quality we expected with the rest of the meal. Don't think we will be back for the prices of the meals and the portions we received.

We had the smoked prime rib which was tender enough to cut with a fork and almost the perfect amount of smoke. Maybe a bit too much but still tasty. It was next door to a gonja store so as you walked thru the front door you got a big whiff of smoke. My gps took us to the back door for some reason but we drove around the square and found parking in the front. Solid three star place! They get an extra one for the free entertainment. More on that in a…read morebit... My Mom lives near here. For some reason I had this place bookmarked and didn't remember it. C found it on Yelp and suggested it for lunch after a visit with Mom. Arrived at like 2:20 on a Saturday and it's packed... Like, almost completely full! Good sign. It's homey/country/redneck/slapped together with duct tape and epoxy looking inside. My kind of place! Seat yourself, choose a table out in the middle no one was at, and got the run down by our pre-server. If you don't know, that's the person that could wait on you but won't because of some dumb arbitrary system they have in place. I digress... We get our bevs, pre-server reminds us again she is not the one and leaves. Real server shows and we order. Had the crispy hot wings for an app. Five wings for $5.99. They are undoubtably the Foster Farms wings from the freezer section. That's ok though, I like them. I post about them from Costco. C ordered Sloppy Joes. Server says they out, so she orders a bacon cheeseburger with tots instead. I ordered Catfish with a baker, white beans, and hush puppies. Now C warned me that the catfish looked "too white".... I didn't pick up on this meaning like "honky white", instead of undercooked or lightly battered. She explained this later in the car. I understood then, and she was dead on! Food was meh all around . All factory formed and breaded proteins. Catfish was overcooked to the point to being dry and stringy inside. Cold beans. Cold hushes. Old ass potato. I tried C's tator tots, cold too. Here is why they get four.... The following seems to be a thing here, as I have read the same comment now, multiple times, in others reviews. Right after we ordered, some stranger walks up, looks at us, pulls out a chair, sits down, and asks if she can eat with us. What do you say but yes???!!! She gets her BLT in 5 mins. Ours takes like 25.... I swear this place sets this up! We sit and watch her eat while she spits bits of food at us while sharing the last decade or so of her life. The next 40 minutes are wild. Her name was Gail. I know more about Gail than I ever wanted to know about anyone outside of my family now. She didn't stop talking the entire time. I won't bore you with all of the details of Gail's life. She can do that if you come. She said she used to come there every day but had to slow down because of her "sugar". You should totally ask if Gail is there, I swear you will feel so much better about your situation if you break bread with her. My wife zoned out completely and left me all alone to deal with Gail on my own. Empathy is not my strongest attribute. I pulled it off though. We wanted pie, but C was unnerved by the verbal assault that was occurring, she paid for the table and headed outside. People are strange creatures man.... Sometimes I swear this is just a simulation. Checked this one off the list. If I am ever bored and in need of a strangers companionship, you'll find me here I suppose. '25 - 2/111
