I was passing through and stopped here to try some of their vegan options. The Nashville Hot chicken was delicious, as were the yams. The greens were pretty good, but skip the roll. They should make southern rolls or even cornbread. Either would be better than that roll. I grabbed a Tuna Sandwich for later. It came on a soft bun, and the portion was generous, but the vegan tuna itself was lacking. I have had some phenomenal vegan tuna throughout my 18 years of veganism (Vegas, Minneapolis), but theirs was missing something... Flavor? Seasoning? Not sure, but I'd like to see them improve their recipe. I also tried the strawberry and pineapple cakes. Both were ok. I'd definitely return to try more items, and to get more of that delicious Nashville hot chicken and candied yams. The brunch menu also looks inviting, so I'd love to try that too. read more

I found this place on Happy Cow on my way from the airport. Easy parking in a strip mall location. QR codes at the table to order, was not busy at all, but looks like they do a lot of takeout. Very cute dining area, clean and nicely decorated. I had the soul food plate which was delicious. I wanted bread pudding but they were out so I had some pineapple cake instead which was very tasty! My husband really liked the chicken sandwich over the Philly, so it's really just a matter of preference. The yams are great! Not too sweet and are spiced just right. Oh my goodness, they have a ton of desserts, so your sweet tooth cravings are a match here. It seems quiet although their shared parking situation can get hectic. The restrooms weren't available while I was there, but they have them. The staff are pleasant and informative. You can't rush goodness, so order ahead if you're short on time. If you choose to dine in or wait on-site, try the ginger beer. I think I had lemonade because there was no fizz, but it was not slacking on ginger The seating is intimate & the decor is refreshing & fun. Walked in and waited a good 10-15 minutes before anyone came out of the back to ask us what we wanted. When someone finally came out, you order at the register in the front. Service was very slow and we had to ask for several items that never came out (like the water for the kids, our side of fries, the ranch on my dish and the bread pudding that I ordered). The portions were very small for "soul food" but it was pretty good. The bread pudding was very bland and was drenched in some sort of oil or melted "butter". Overall, I think it was good but I wouldn't be back next time I'm in town. Nice to try once though. read more

Only been exploring Vegan and vegetarian foods for about 9 months. Vegelicious is by far one of the TOP for me. Went for a Saturday lunch with my hubby. Pretty convenient location and plenty of parking even in a shared lot. Most times when I try a new non-vegan restaurant, chicken is my choice so why not here also. I had the Fried Chick Sandwich which comes with steakhouse style fries. First, the bun was amazingly soft and tasty alone BUT that Chick!!! If I can never eat actual chicken again, this would definitely be my option. The crispy outside with tender inside with flavor better than other "favorite chicken" places (not saying which one but there are plenty). The fries cooked to perfection and the seasoning on point--no ketchup or dipping sauce needed. So thankful hubby found this place and we are excited to even bring our kids back to try it. We were so excited to try Vegelicious after reading the reviews. When we arrived, we were the only ones there. It took awhile for someone to come out from the back. I was really wanting to try the kale salad. It was supposed to have sweet potatoes, olives and cherry tomatoes. The one I received had one olive and just kale. The kale was drenched in sesame oil. It was so overpowering that I couldn't taste the ranch dressing. I also tried the Finger Licking Burger. It was dripping in the special sauce, way too much, couldn't taste anything else. No one ever checked on us or refilled our drinks. Very disappointed. Definitely overpriced. read more

I've never had "Soul Food" with less soul. I had such high expectations for this place - Antioch's very own little vegan cafe- but it fell flat. Nothing we ate had any flavor. The soul plate was bland, it had no spice, no smoke, no garlic, no salt. Don't make that the most eye catching thing on the menu if it can't hold a candle to real soul food. The French fries and the yams were ok. The Philly sandwich texture was good but again, just had no flavor to note. Like eating bread on a roll of bread. The service wasn't great either, they weren't attentive to any of the guests and didn't seem to care either way. It breaks my heart to give it such a poor rating, I had hoped for so much more! If I go back in the future I will try one of their spicy menu options and hopefully have a better report back! read more
