Our server, (forgot his name) was outstanding and so were all the staff that night. We stared with the calamari and it was good, but we had more fried shrimp than calamari which we thought was odd. We split the wedge salad which was good but dressing was on the rather sweet side. The potato was okay, not really special. The best part was the steak. Made perfectly and good but will say it was pretty fatty so a few areas we couldn't eat. Also the macaroni and cheese is usually one of my fave but this time lacked flavor and was dry. All in all, it was okay and not our norm experience with their food.

The steak was cooked perfectly, and even the Caesar salad was one of those dishes that was simple but just really, really good. We finished with the crème brûlée for dessert, which was also wonderful. Such a great experience from start to finish, especially considering we walked in without planning ahead. Great food, great service, and such a nice atmosphere. We would 100% come back!

We actually left and ended up going to another restaurant afterward because we were still hungry, which was pretty disappointing considering how much we had just spent. Overall, the food was delicious, but between the extremely small portions, high prices, tight space, and slower service, it just wasn't worth it for us. I'm glad we tried it, but I wouldn't go back.

My husband ordered the Prawn Cocktail. I'm allergic to shrimp, so I couldn't try it myself, but he said it was outstanding. I usually order the Koji Ribeye, but this time my husband claimed it first, so I ventured out and ordered the Alaskan Halibut with hash brown crust, orange vinaigrette, and watercress. It was absolutely delicious. My favorite side remains the Roasted Carrots with Leiper's Fork honey and tarragon--they're incredible. We finished with the Carrot Cake. It's less sweet than the version served at another well-known Franklin restaurant, which I actually prefer. The flavors are more nuanced, and the crunchy shredded carrot on top adds the perfect texture. The food was, as always, exceptional. We were fortunate to have Jeff Paul as our server again. He's knowledgeable, attentive, and strikes that perfect balance of being available without ever being intrusive. That said, we've honestly never had anything but excellent service at 1799. Maverick stopped by our table and was warm, engaging, and genuinely interested in making sure every guest had a memorable experience. I am writing this review solely to apply to one manager that is employed at this restaurant location, and her name is KENDRA. Me and two of my girl friends decided to go enjoy a glass of wine and share a few appetizers at this restaurant, because we mostly have a decent time while we are there. I am not exaggerating when I say that we literally did not speak to anyone other than, us, the bartender, and one of the hostesses. As we are leaving the restaurant, another guest who was at the bar decided to get up and follow us out to then say, AND I DIRECTLY QUOTE, "goodbye you fucking whores". Obviously being taken aback and confused as to why this comment was even said, we walked back to confront this man and simply said that that comment was completely uncalled for and unnecessary. This is where the manager comes into play. The manager, Kendra, was standing directly in between us when the man said this comment to us, and we decided to come back to address the situation. She then proceeded to physically push us out of the building saying "he didn't say anything, he just said have a good night". Audio and video surveillance from the restaurant will 100% prove that this man said what he did to us, and she reacted out of her own personal feelings towards the situation instead of handling this manner in a professional way. She lied not only straight to our face, but to everyone and the police about what actually happened. This manager then decided to tell us that we were "banned from the restaurant" for literally doing absolutely nothing. I also have a video of me trying to talk to the manager (Kendra) one on one about the situation, and she completely disregarded anything I said and tried to shift the blame on us. I don't know her personally so I cannot speak on her whole character, but the way she acted tonight absolutely showed us how horrible she is as a manager. To be so one sided after clearly hearing what this man said to us just shows how unprofessional she really is, and I hope she never gets another chance to be a manager at this point in her life. I hope Sperry's does the RIGHT thing and remove this person from their business to try and maintain a good reputation. Shoutout to the bartender this evening for being a true professional and handling this manner in a complete respectful way. read more

We had dinner at Sperry's tonight while we were in town on a house-hunting trip, and it was one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. From the moment we arrived, our server, Clark, made us feel genuinely welcome. He was warm, personable, and took the time to get to know us, asking what brought us to town. When we shared that we were house hunting, he was quick to offer helpful local insight, which made the experience feel even more personal. Clark knew the menu inside and out. His recommendations--from our dinner selections to the wine pairings--were spot on. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, and you could tell the kitchen takes great pride in every dish. The restaurant is located in a shopping center, but don't let that fool you. Once you step inside, it has an intimate, classic steakhouse atmosphere with an almost speakeasy vibe--elegant, warm, and timeless. It's not at all what you'd expect from the exterior. This is definitely a finer dining experience. It's on the pricier side, but every dollar is worth it for the quality of the food, the exceptional service, and the beautiful ambiance. I also wouldn't recommend showing up in casual clothes. This is one of those places where dressing up adds to the experience, and you'll feel right at home in business casual or dressier attire. If you're looking for a memorable dinner in the Franklin area, Sperry's is a place you shouldn't miss. And if you're lucky enough to have Clark as your server, you're in excellent hands. After nearly 20 years of enjoying exceptional dining experiences at this restaurant, I regret to say that I will not be returning. During my recent visit, I encountered a significant decline in the quality of service. Our waitress, an older woman with reddish-brown hair, displayed unprofessional and unacceptable behavior. She was particularly discourteous to the female members of our party, consistently taking their orders last and exhibiting disrespectful gestures such as rolling her eyes. While the quality of the salad bar and the food remained excellent, the conduct of the waitress severely marred what was meant to be a special occasion. Sperry's so wonderful! Their food is your sort of typical high end steak house, and always impeccably prepared. The wine list is fantastic, the service is always wonderful, and their salad bar is the best! They actually have old fashioned blue cheese dressing (which is orange if you've never had it)! The steak, lobster, crab legs, shrimp and grits, and Bloody Mary's are all the very best. It's perfect for a romantic night out with my husband. If Yelp had a 4.5, I would select that one. It's not quite 5 star because it's in a strip mall, for example. I would like to see a "higher end" restaurant in a stand alone building with better parking. The food is great, not "perfect." Her personality and attention to us was excellent. My reason for only 4 stars is due to the fact that my husband made a reservation about two weeks prior. We had a "reserved" table in the back of the restaurant by the bathrooms. Very disappointing as there were plenty of other nicer seats. I was also disappointed as two entire tables near us were taken up by several employees who were rolling silverware and napkins and talking about their hours and other people. This should not be done while guests were dining. While the food was decent, we do not plan to go back.

We were greeted right away by the owner and seated in a comfortable booth in the back. The space offers a nice mix of tables, booths, and bar seating. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the start. They were light, slightly sweet, and really good. For my entrée, I went with the Louisiana Bayou Shrimp with Crawfish with a side of corn. Wow, great flavor with just the right amount of kick, and they didn't skimp on the shrimp or crawfish. Portion size was spot on.
