I have dined at Sperry's a number of times pre Covid as well as enjoyed take out during restaurant closure. We were excited to go back in person tonight for a special occasion. I was immediately concerned- many people in line for hostess stand without masks. Hostess asked guests to put on masks while waiting which they did, but then promptly took off as they were seated across from us. We were seated within 5 minutes of reservation but I was shocked that tables were so close. In fact I could hardly get into my seat as the couple behind us was so close. Servers were wearing masks but guests walking throughout dining area without. Per the website we expected something much different. I enjoy Sperry's food very much but will not be back in the near future since I am considered a front line worker. read more

This is a great steakhouse! It has good dim mood lightening which created a nice ambience but might make it hard to see the menu for older adults. The waitress we had when there seemed a little passive aggressive in her attitude and responses with our table when many of us had never been there before. The filet was delicious and so was the pasta and lobster. They do have complimentary valet service which is nice. Overall I would go back for a special occasion but there are definitely better top tier steakhouses out there. read more

"My husband and I had a reservation for my 70th birthday. We were initially seated in a very noisy room with a bar and tables close together. When we asked if a different dining area was available, they accommodated our request immediately. For the rest of the evening, we had a lovely table, waiter and meal. The ambience was great. To celebrate my birthday we were offered a free dessert, our photo was taken, printed off and given to us -it was a very nice touch. We look forward to dining there again. read more

This is our go to date night several times a month. If you love filet mignon, their oscar style is as good as it gets. Their crab cakes are to die for, salad bar is incredibly fresh, and it's a consistently great meal every time. We love the snowball sundae for dessert but oftentimes can't find the room after such a fulfilling meal. Don't let the fact that the restaurant is in a strip mall deter you. This place has been around for several decades with no signs of slowing down. Highly recommend. read more

Generous baked bread crumbs, Dijon, and a traditional mint sauce make this dish pop with flavor and great textures. My wife enjoys the steak frites as it is a go to comfort food and always well seasoned and very tender. Not to mention the delicious béarnaise sauce that completes it. When we change it up we like to get the prime rib which may be the best in the area and extremely generous portions. **COVID-19 REVIEW** My wife and I have enjoyed Sperry's many times and we were pleased to find that the restaurant has released a grocery menu during the pandemic crisis. We called Sperry's on Saturday to place a pickup order in the afternoon for what would be our Sunday Easter dinner. We ordered 2 of their excellent 10 oz. bone-in filets along with a salmon fillet and a pound of shrimp. For sides, we enjoyed their twice-baked potatoes. We cooked and grilled everything to perfection at home for a fantastic Easter dinner. Thanks to Sperry's new Fresh Market grocery menu, we were able to pick up a flat of 30 eggs that were not available at our local grocery store. As anyone knows, chickens have not stopped producing eggs during the pandemic and I believe it is of paramount importance that restaurants do whatever they can to divert the dining service food supply chain into the hands of consumers whenever possible. There is no excuse for milk going down the drain or any food going to waste. Sperry's is doing their part to support the grocery supply chain and I am grateful for it. Thank you to Sperry's and staff for your efforts to remain open and continue to bring great food to dinner tables in Franklin - even if those tables are a little outside the usual wood and leather fine dining room. My only complaint is that the wait to pick up our food was too long. It took nearly 30 minutes to deliver the food to our vehicle and I think this can be substantially improved. We've been a here a handful of times and each time it gets better. SERVICE: from the hostess Stephanie, to our server Josh and all the associates in between refilling our water, taking our plates, and delivering our food, it was EXCEPTIONAL!!! On this particular visit, we were celebrating my husbands birthday, which we shared when asked by the hostess if we were there for an occasion or just a night out. My husband got to select a dessert of his choice "Espresso Brownie", which came out with a candle =). Complimentary might I add. We were then asked if we wanted a photo, which was then printed and delivered in a sweet folding card stating "Happy Birthday". FOOD: Amazing!!! We ordered the 2 King Cut Prime rib which includes the salad bar. We also had oysters and a bottle of wine. - Complimentary fresh bread served with the most delicious buttery spread. - Half dozen oysters were beyond fresh and served with 3 sauce options. - Bottle of wine was half off and came highly recommended by Josh, our server. So very glad we took his suggestion of the Pinot Noir, Meiomi. - Salad bar!!! I am obsessed with their salad bar. Everything is cut and prepped fresh, they have so much variety for toppings and add on's but the whole reason why I love the salad bar so much is for the Roasted Garlic Dressing! It's out of this world GOOD! - Prime Rib - possibly the very best prime rib we've ever had. When we order from other places, we always compare it Sperry's and it never can compare. We always come back! The portion is legit larger than my head. Juicy, tender, and accompanied with au jus and a horseradish butter spread. You guys, I am literally salivating while writing this review. - Espresso Brownie: Vanilla ice cream served on top of a warmed espresso brownie the size of my hand. Enough said! If you've not yet tried Sperry's of Coolsprings, you must go! You can order banana fosters that's made directly at your table. We love to eat at Sperry's. The steaks are usually fabulous and you can't beat the salad bar. Sometime you must treat yourself to the Bananas Foster. 40th birthday dinner tonight for son-in-law and family (wife and two granddaughters) as well as my wife. I had the 16oz prime rib, wedge salad, and onion soup. Wife had small filet. Son in law had the 16 oz prime rib as well. My daughter had the steak tips appetizer for dinner. All were well satisfied. Everything cooked exactly as ordered. Nice bottle of wine made the celebration. Sperrys allowed us to bring in a Bundt cake and lit the candles. Just another night of excellence for food and service. Waiter was very attentive and supportive of our dinner with the two small grandchildren. We were in a back common room which we hadn't been in before. We liked this more so than the bar or main dining areas. Noise was less and social distancing was slightly better. read more

BIG disappointment! I'd heard a lot about this place and initially loved the ambience. The Wedge salad was good, asparagus was good, and so were the shoestring fries. However, my $40 ribeye was just horrendously over seasoned. I really wanted to enjoy this meal with family visiting from overseas. However I just had to stop eating. When asked how the food was by the waiter I was already in the process of trying to scrape the seasoning off the steak. He didn't seem too alarmed when I explain it was WAY too salty. After a couple more bites and having given other people at the table a taste (because I was in disbelief) there was about half the Steak left when I just gave up on it completely. The burgundy mushroom sauce (on the side) was equally salty and Inedible. Such a shame, the steak itself was a nice cut utterly ruined. Won't be going back any time soon. read more

Our server, Jeremy, was amazing. He had no problem getting everything in our order correct and out in a timely matter. The food was delicious-cooked perfectly. We had reserved the small private room (off the bar area). The room was very nice and cozy, however, the noise from the bar area flowed into the room, making conversation difficult, at times. Also, if you're going to have a dress code, it needs to be enforced. While I was waiting to get seated, one gentleman came in wearing a cap (and wasn't asked to remove it) and several people came in wearing torn jeans. read more

They were so busy, the manager came around to take our appetizer and drink orders. Tonight, we started our evening with a Calamari appetizer, and it was well breaded- not greasy. Our main entrees we're prime rib and a filet, both were perfectly cooked. With the salad bar closed due to COVID, we still had a salad and asparagus and a twice baked potato. All was delicious! The wife and I decided to try this place out on a whim and Sperry's did not disappoint. The ambiance and décor give this place a true steakhouse vibe. I highly recommend making reservations if coming for dinner as this place packs up quick right at 5pm. Since we arrived around 4, walk in sitting was available and as a bonus, it was happy hour which is from Mon-Fr 3pm to 6pm. I enjoyed the Maple Old Fashioned with Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Maple simple syrup, Angostura bitters, fresh lemon juice, and cinnamon stick. For appetizers, we had the 98% Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes which are pan seared with whole grain mustard sauce, and Escargot in garlic herb seasoned butter. Guys!! The escargot is FREAKING TO DIE for!! I've tried it at the Gaylord Old Hickory Steak house and Sperry's puts them to shame!! The garlic butter seasoning makes you want to take the bread they provide and just soak it up! The jumbo lump crab cakes were nothing to play with. Most places pack their crab cakes with bread crumbs to the point your just eating bread but not Sperry's! You literally, taste the crab in each bite! Prior to the main course, we enjoyed their wedge salad topped with black olives, bacon, and crumbled blue cheese. Then it was off to the races to savor their mouthwatering slow roasted prime rib with au jus and creamy horseradish sauce which was perfectly cooked to order with a side of asparagus. Finally, for desert, we simply couldn't miss out on their famous Bananas Fosters which is made and served table side. We came here for the first time tonight for our first wedding anniversary. As soon as we walked in we were blown away by the unique and fascinating decor. It was a very romantic atmosphere all together. The staff was all extremely nice and wished us a happy anniversary. The food was absolutely amazing!! We got the lamb for appetizers, the prime rib for two (their anniversary special, only available during March), and the banana fosters for dessert (which our amazing waitress took the time to make in front of us even though it was very busy). All of it was superb. The steak and lamb were both extremely tender and the dessert was like heaven with a side of ice cream. We hope we can come again soon but have decided to definitely make this our anniversary tradition. read more

I stumbled on to Sperry's in Cool Springs about 10 years ago and have been going ever since. From the minute you enter the restaurant Sperry's sedately says "old school" steak house. Dark wood, rich colored interior, quiet bar off to one side of the restaurant and a salad bar! I haven't seen salad bars in steak houses in quite some time. Sperry's offers delicious steaks, lamb and select seafood as well as the type of vegetables you wound expect at an upscale steak house. The food and service have always been very good, the wine list is appropriate for the food being served. The prices being below the downtown Nashville steak houses offer great value for a local restaurant without the traffic or parking hassles. If you are a steak fan and have not been go to Sperry's you won't be disappointed. read more

The food at this restaurant was very good. Service was not as good as the food was. We ordered a bottle of wine and the server poured our first glasses then never came back to refill our glasses. Not a huge deal, but annoying at a place where one would expect good service. All the items we ordered were delicious. Prime rib was the best we have had in a long time. We had Will as our server and he acknowledged our anniversary as soon as he greeted us. I did note it on the reservation.
