BEWARE!!!!! Such a disappointing end to years of service with Spectrum. I cancelled my service over the phone in September, scheduled to end in the first week of October. I was then told that all I had to do was turn in the boxes/equipment etc. to a UPS store, which I did. All bills were paid up to date. I then received a bill weeks later for service provided for the entire month of October! At NO TIME during the lengthy conversation I had with the representative in September about turning off service, was I told that if service went even ONE day into the following month, that SPECTRUM HAS A POLICY that they won't prorate the bill and you ARE LIABLE for the entire month! I called to discuss this bill with Spectrum. The initial rep was no help at all. I then spoke with a supervisor, Tiffany B. Again no help at all. I was told that there is a disclaimer somewhere on my bill giving notice of this policy, and that the rep should have informed me of this when I called to cancel my service. However, they would look into the rep who helped me that day, and they would make sure that the rep does inform all customers in the future. However, as for me, since it is THEIR policy, that there is nothing they could do for me and I am liable for the bill for the entire month! Along with that, the internet service constantly had a very weak signal! I had to get internet signal boosters installed, and even then I had continued problems with the internet... even the phone land line. How does that happen?? The customer service here is wild. You walk in and you're not even greeted. Just prompted to sign in- I was just going in to drop off equipment. No one told my mom when she called them that we should make a reservation. There was a whole list of people who were walk- ins and no one had a reservation. Took out Spectrum's internet and TV service on a temporary visit to California. Explained in the store when we would be leaving and they said no problem. Took the equipment back on our leaving day to be told that we were one day past the monthly billing cycle date. So they charged a full month (nearly $200) when we had their equipment for one day of that month. The store knew the dates and nobody alerted us to this fact. We would have simply returned the previous day if we had been aware. Won't be using them again. That's theft. read more

Dishonest and deceptive sales. Horrible inconsistent customer service. Signed on for mobile service. Discovered later that they put my card on autopsy when I was told it wouldn't be. I was also told that my current phone didn't support E-sim so I was suckered into purchasing a phone through them with a trade in if my phone that supposedly didn't support E-sim. The offer they gave me for my trade in was later decreased due to receiving it via USPS one day late even though I mailed it out several days before the last day to return. I did my part and sent it in but I'm being held responsible for USPS not delivering before the last day to return. I made several calls to customer support to speak with someone regarding the reduced trade in and was told I didn't have credentials for them to speak with me even though I had been added as someone authorized to speak to on two different phone calls. The admin and owner of the account also authorized me on their online account. Supervisor told me they weren't going to allow me to return the phone I was tricked into purchasing when I was lied to about my original phone being incompatible for E-sim. I ported my number out to my original phone and began service using the E-sim method with no issues. The service was horrible and the phone even more so. If something was wrong with my trade in then I could accept the lower offer but it was in perfect condition and the ONLY reason for the decreased value was it being received one day late. I don't work for the postal service and the postmarked date when I mailed it in was well before the last day to return. We had a natural disaster a few days before I mailed it which slowed the delivery to Spectrum so that had a slight impact on operations in my state and all states surrounding me. Hurricane Helene. I live in TN. I REFUSE TO PAY FOR THE PHONE SOLD TO ME UNDER DISHONEST BUSINESS PRACTICES. I've returned it to the company whether they want it or not and I have proof of that delivery as well. From day one spectrum, their business practices have been far from acceptable. No one makes notes on your account when speaking to customer service and the refusal to speak with me when I put calls in to reach them. I will never recommend their services to anyone and will take every opportunity, when it becomes available, to let others know how they do business. read more

A gentleman named Matt who works for Spectrum stopped by before the coronavirus quarantine. We made an appointment for the consultation thing but Spectrum did not show up. Matt made another appointment with us but the shelter at home happened the night before they were supposed to come out. Because of this they didn't come out. We never signed anything or okayed any work. They somehow remotely ported our number over and disconnected our internet. After speaking to Matt he said he would ship out a router and we could connect it ourself so we could avoid the installation fee. Well I guess Matt never shipped the stuff out because today they sent techs out and we still don't have the router. So we had to pay the fee because we can't go longer without internet (its been a week). The tech even didn't know what he was installing and kept mentioning Matts contact included cable. This has been the worst experience with a service provider we have ever encountered. There is no way we can be the only ones. This seemed very planned so we had no choice to go with them. We called Frontier (who we had before they disconnected us) and they said it happens all the time with Spectrum. read more

Save your time go somewhere else apparently they put customers through a automated system that is currently always incorrect you have to talk to Manager's all the time which takes more than 45 minutes to do and when you are able to finally speak with a Manager what they tell you what they say they're gonna do, isn't always what actually happens and you pretty much have to babysit them as if they were kids we have you definitely have to write down everyone's name and right down what Department and even then you'll have some problems so good luck. They even made returning their boxes impossible they sent me to FedEx and FedEx said they had no membership with them and I needed to go somewhere else and when I called them they said I went to the wrong FedEx please don't waste your time. read more

Frustrated is an understatement. We live in an apartment, someone did not confirm which account for which apartment they were disconnecting and they disconnected mine on accident. Accidents happen, I understand that. But it's been more than 24 hours and we are still without internet and they say they have to get a hold of the other person that was supposed to have been disconnected before they reconnect my services. WTF. Why am I paying for someone else's mistake. This needs to be fixed like yesterday! Ordered Specrum internet 6 months ago. This complaint is not about the location, everytime I went in, people were nice. This complaint is about the internet service and company policies. I work from home and rely on good internet service as I have to talk to clients all day. My service would drop randomly throughout the day, interfering or preventing me from working. The poor internet literally cost me money with work..After multiple technicians could not figure it out, I switched and new service has been perfect. When I cancelled, not only was I not given some credit for the poor service, because I cancelled 3 days into new billing cycle I was charged for the entire month. Managers claimed there was nothing that can be done. If you need consistent and reliable service, go to Frontier, it's fiber optic, faster, consistent and cheaper. read more

The customer service at this specific store is horrible and each worker there should be let go. They speak condescending to their customers, are very short and don't all seem to know enough about the business to speak on the same page. Brought our 2 cable boxes in to cancel service and have internet only. The sales person said we could keep our original modem and she would turn off the WiFi ability so we wouldn't be charged for that part of the service, we bought our own WiFi router. Next day, the emailed cost breakdown was sent to our email and they are charging us for WiFi and for a few bucks more than what was communicated over the counter. We went back out, from Fallbrook in traffic, to ask and the guy told us we needed to switch modems, now a third trip is required. Why couldn't this have been communicated clearly during our initial phone call so it all could've been taken care of in one trip? Each spectrum representative gave different information causing us headache and wasted time. On top of all that, you have to put up with the rude disrespectful way they speak to you, and other customers that were there at the same time. I asked if they would send one of their guys out with the new modem and take the old one and the reply was yes, for $65. I ought to be able to back charge them $65 for all the lack of correct information and back and forth trips they caused. read more

Went in there to get an upgrade phone. Clearly the rep didn't want to do anything - as he kept messing around and not actually being very helpful. First - any phones we literally asked about, they had no stock of it. Really? of almost ALL the phones we asked about? None. Second, - we decided to order instead, and of course, the rep restarts the order 3 times until he no longer can order it because it said it was used already, and could no longer order the phone. It was made pretty clear that this guy just was wasting our time, so he wouldn't have to do anything, or really help us. We won't be going back. read more

Spectrums service is Absolute garbage. We were told by one of their sales reps that we could try their service for free with no obligations for 30 days. The tech said he would leave all our old dish network cables in place Incase we choose to switch back ( why would he even tell me that?) ... The FIRST NIGHT we had service interruptions! On top of that, they don't give you remotes, told us we had to use the one that came with the tv or buy a new one. ...well the one that come with our tv does not have any number to dial a Channel or option for guide. It's the basic remote that comes with the tv. The menus and navigation was terrible and everything has a bad lag in respond time. So THE NEXT DAY we called to cancel the service. What a nightmare that was! They wouldn't send a tech out to get their equipment....we had to deliver it to their office. They wouldn't send a tech to hook up the old equipment (that I later found out he had cut all the wires to my dish) well guess what, after all of this, they sent my account into collections!!!! When we were never billed! SCAM ALERT! We called spectrum about this. They could not tell us why they we were sent to collections, and that we should not have been billed. That's a little concerning. When I asked to speak to a manager the guy on the phone says "why? He's not going to tell you anything different" This company is so shady anyway you look at it. We have had nothing but issues with Spectrum. Since September2018. The technology is out dated, and they seem to have the most outages when it rains, or is windy. Their guide doesn't work half the time, their internet goes down at least twice a week. Sometimes while the main guide is not available, if you try and change the channel most of the time a message will pop up indicating that "the channel is unavailable". When I see a Spectrum mobile commercial I have to laugh. I think they should focus on updating and fixing their current cable/Internet service. Their DVR option is a joke. So outdated, you can only watch what you recorded in that room. In other words, You cannot go into the living room and watch what you recorded in the bedroom. Spectrum, please update your home service, cable & Internet service. Update your software, and equipment. read more

Stopped in to pay my bill and change out a cable box. Service was unexpectedly speedy and efficient. I had planned on this being a 15-30 minute transaction, but it only took 5! I came a few different times to return equipment from a move, get new equipment, get questions answered, etc. the wait was atrocious the first 2 times I came, but I was watching their interactions with the guests and it was very thorough and polite. They just need more staff. I get there's a global staffing issue that the pandemic has created, so I want to give massive props for the folks that were there supporting. The third time I came back they were empty, super nice and amazing, and took care of me within minutes. Keep up the great work! read more

I have to say that the telephone support for Spectrum (Time Warner) has always been 100%. I'd rate them 5++++. Unfortunately the in store service is 100 percent opposite. Signed in at 330pm ish? About 15 people in front of me. Employee in corner with long braid stayed with same customer on his own phone for entire hour. Couldn't employee say excuse me customer, while you get your shit together, let me help others? Meanwhile, other employees are chatting with customers while line is still long.. If I see a line of customers, now is the time to cut the chit chat to a minimum. Finally got to my turn. Took 2 minutes to exchange equipment. Poor store management! Went home, called support to help connect new quipment, done again in probably 10 minutes. Again phone support 5 +++++ If I can ever avoid going back to the Spectrum store I will. This is the worst internet service I have EVER used. If you have the choice do not choose spectrum. It has the slowest internet and then they want you too pay an extra free for something that should be working in the first place. It stops working and then a sign pops up and says pay an extra 5.99 a month when it should be working in the first place like I said! My roommates and I will watch t.v for 10 minutes and in that 10 minutes the internet will stop about 8 times. We pay about 55$ a month for internet that doesn't work. Thats disgusting in my eyes. When we called to try to get it fixed they wouldn't answer or call me back. I finally got a hold of them after a week and they did send a person out to help and even he agreed the internet was VERY SLOW. Overall spectrum is a horrible and I am overall disgusted. read more

I initially wanted to switch to spectrum, talked to them on the phone and they told me I would be doing a self installment, which I wasn't real fond of. The equipment came about a week later and I was having second thoughts. I had a family emergency and had to leave the area so I called them and told them I had changed my mind. I returned the equipment that I never installed! They never told me at the spectrum store that they still required me to pay a full month of service nor did they tell me on the phone. They sent some mail that I didn't pay no mind since everyone knows you get those flyers and letters very week to switch to different companies. Yet today I received I call stating they turned me into collections. I owe $135 for service I never even had a chance to hook up! I'm going to call them directly in hopes they will change the amount owed!!! It is crazy! read more
