I've had Spectrum Business Internet for over four years. The service itself is all well and great. Speed is wonderful and as long as you don't need customer service everything is fine. We're in the midst of moving to a new location, and the new location is not serviced by Spectrum. I'm not happy to HAVE to leave Spectrum, but boy did they burn their bridges today. I called to cancel my service EFFECTIVE next month. As soon as the call finished, I returned to my computer to continue what I had been doing, only to find I had no internet. I redialed *the very same number* I had just disconnected from, and the automated system says something along the lines "we recognize your number as a residential customer ...." [um, no, I'm a business customer but okay let's keep rolling]. I won't detail the conversation, but each person I spoke with transferred me to another person. At the end of the 35 minute phone call I had spoken with FIVE different people before they reconnected my internet. I'll miss the high speed - but I am hopeful that my new LOCAL internet service will provide me with top notch customer service. read more

This is the worst company ever! I was a customer for around 8 years. They kept increasing the cost of my internet over and over again. I had to call and ask why, and apparently the promotion had ended. My only choice was to threaten to cancel or actually cancel and sign up again. The price for my internet reached over 100$ for 300mbs. Can you believe that??! I finally canceled, turned in my equipment and they said I had an old modem from years ago that was replaced still on my account. The person in the store told me not to worry about it because it was old and several generations ago and that spectrum didn't provide any information regarding returning the old modem. Like they did that on purpose. Several months later, they just charged me $90 for not returning an ancient modem. A real FU on the way out for a customer of over 8 years. This f*cking company! We have the TV spectrum APP only with wifi. Every month, prices keep going up. For having nothing, no movie channels or anything, we are now at a price of $286. We are going to drop the tv app. If no mercy on deals to keep us at a FAIR price, not a communist price, we will keep it. Moving and trying to cancel service. Tried the online chat and that was a joke. Called customer service and that was an even bigger joke. There is not a spectrum store any where close to be able to drop off the equipment. Asked for a mailing address to ship it back and they would not provide one. Stated I can go to dedicated Spectrum UPS and have them ship it or a retail Spectrum store to return the equipment. I tried to explain that none of those options will work as I am not driving over an hour to do that when I am willing to pay the shipping at the post office. I don't want to drive over an hour to sit in there store for hours as I have done that before. Customer service is horrible. They need to figure that out. I am glad I won't have to deal with this in the new location I am moving too as they do not service that area. Beware of who you have on your account. And verify that Spectrum doesn't automatically label them as authorized to make changes or purchases on your account. A sales rep at this location allowed my daughter to purchase a $1200 phone on my account WITHOUT my security pin and they stated she was Authorized on my account. I remember when I put her on that I specifically stated to the salesman that she was not authorized or allowed to do this. It's their word against yours and they did this to get the sale. They DID NOT CONTACT ME to get my approval. When I went in to speak to the Sales manager, she supported this practice and defended their actions instead of an apology or anything they just defended the actions. No Customer service for the Account Holder in this. The sale comes first, and never mind your 7 year Customer! Called the company to send a repair person sooner, they moved our appointment up an hour. The phone personal are nice but can't help. Several months ago I went to this business to switch from AT&T. I told the clerk I wanted to have it installed. With a blank look on her face she said "we don't do that". When I told her installation is offered online for a fee. She said I would have to contact corporate. Yesterday I called the main number. Gal said they can get me service for $179.00 per month. When I confronted her with the prices on the internet she said I have to "ask" for that advertised deal???? They were going to charge me an extra $50.00 per month. My husband passed away on June 2,2024. I went to the spectrum store in Northwest Reno on June 14,2024 to cancel service I no longer needed and could no could I afford on June 14,2024. Because I did not cancel the service on June 11, 2024 I received a full month's bill for the things I canceled. I called and talked to two representatives and a supervisor and all three told me I had to pay for the services from June12 to July 11 because Spectrum does not prorate. Spectrum's customer service is nonexistent and they are heartless. When I told them I am going to find a different carrier I was told "you need to do what's right for your family" I have never had such a frustrating, bad experience with any other company. They care little if any for customer satisfaction and have done nothing to move forward with the rest of the world as far as streaming, content and price. Customer service is brutally slow and ineffective. The guide is constantly going out and channels and services are not there when they are supposed to be. Internet service is fast but you pay for it. This company does not care about you or its customers and will probably dissapear like Blockbuster did. Was brought our our attention by one of their service techs that we only have a modem that's capable up to 350.So for the last two years we have been paying for 500 but only receiving 350. I called spectrum to see if there is some sort of credit back to my account. They basically told us to pound salt and give us a $10 credit. I'm pretty sure that is the definition of fraud! Does not deliver internet speed you are paying for and DVR app is the worst ever. Kept adding strangely labeled charges so that my bill was increased by about $30 a month. I signed up for UTube TV and then discovered when I cancelled Spectrum cable, which had become unaffordable, that buried in the size 1 font legalize is the statement that they are a "monthly service" and will NOT pro-rate. In other words, if you cancel their service at the beginning of their billing cycle, they will charge you for the whole month anyway. Utilities are also monthly services, but they pro-rate your bill when you cancel. Unfortunately, this crooked bunch does not fall under "Utilities" in the state of Nevada ( whose legislature is too busy trying to make it difficult for you to get your prescribed medication). Avoid this company at all costs. If AT&T has fiber in your area, go with them for your internet. ITube TV is very cost effective, includes recording at no additional fee and amount of recording is unlimited-- unlike Spectrum. If you have Spectrum internet which is awful a good part of the time, i.e. not getting the mbps you're paying for or it's down, it shouldn't be a surprise given the tower they are using is in San Luis Obispo for God's sake, 430 miles away across at least two, if not more, mountain ranges. Are there any decent Cable providers out there that are not overly expensive. Currently, we bundle our cable, tv, and computer services and just found out that we had an increase of $57 monthly. Pro's: They offer internet service that I needed. Con's: Outages, harassing "up-sell" phone calls, rate increases without notification. $65.00 a month for internet only! Go back: Not on my life. More.... First, why did I put up with this horrible company for so long, you may ask? I live in a high-rise condo and services were limited. AT&T did not have a strong signal at the time...Charter was my only option. My 4 years with Charter have been one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a service provider. A couple of years ago, tired of TWICE WEEKLY calls from them to get me to upgrade to more services than just internet, I wrote a letter to the corporate office requesting "cease and desist" with the marketing calls. I asked them to consider me a hostile customer!!! I did get a letter back from corporate saying they would remove me from marketing calls. That worked...they quit because of the time and effort I had to take to make it stop. In the years since, my rate has increased every year by at least $5 with no notification. Simultaneously, the internet has been performing poorly with outages about twice a week. I learned that AT&T had a new distribution point close to my home so I would get the same or better internet speed. Cost: $99 set up (ouch!) but $40 a month after. Yes, all ISP's have great deals for new customers however, AT&T told me to call a couple of months ahead of my 1 year of service to see what deals they could get me in on....nice! I signed up. So today was the day I have been waiting for...the day I get to say "SEE 'YA" to Charter Spectrum. I had no intention of arguing or accusing the phone rep of anything...she is just an employee...it's her company I hate. When she asked why I was discontinuing service, I told her it was due to poor performance and unfair rate increases without notification. Dialog with the rep constantly talking over me: Charter rep: "We do notify you when there is going to be a rate increase.". Me: "How have you notified me?" Charter rep: "We do notify you when there is going to be a rate increase.". Me: "I am asking by what method you are saying you notify me? USPS? Email?" Charter rep: "We do notify you when there is going to be a rate increase.". Me: "I am on autopay so I do not get any bill notifications. You guys just take my money and that's that." The rep continues to talk over me stating what I am sure she is told to state, over and over. She was barely listening to me just talking incessantly. On to the poor performance. Rep tells me they do have tech support insinuating I should have called to report the poor performance. Well sweetie, the last thing I want to do is get on the phone with this dirty rotten company, except to cancel. How is it any KIND of customer service or expectation that I might change my mind or come back when I am treated this way? It should not have surprised me that my exit from Charter would be unpleasant. Every single other experience I have had with them has been. The cable companies have too much control and I am so happy that new tech has come along to get me away from them. But I will always need internet, so who knows what lies ahead. Everything about the AT&T experience today getting set up has been delightful. Look for a review on them from me in a few months. Friends...avoid Charter if at all possible. I cancelled my Voice and Cable service on November 3rd. My billing cycle was Oct. 25 to Nov 24. The cancellation was effective on the 3rd, i.e. no services were received after that date. However Spectrum has changed their policy where if you cancel mid service period they do not prorate the service. I paid for 21 days of service that was not received and they are unwilling to provide services or a credit for those 21 days that remained. read more

Spectrum Internet Service in the Sparks, NV area is terrible. My internet drops out about 5 times per days, and is out around 20% of the time on the weekend. I've had a field rep stop by my house 3 times now. I think it actually gets worse each time they come over. Look at another option if you want to be a cable-cutter and want to use streaming services (Hulu, Netflix) to watch television. read more

I visited this location a few days ago and I was absolutely disappointed with the service I received and that I witnessed happened to other customers while waiting. I was helped by this short Latino man (he wasn't wearing his name tag) who was rude from the very beginning. The lack of knowledge, manners, customer service skills and just plain common sense were appalling. These employees need some serious training because they are the 'face' of the company. Employees MUST remember that WE, the customers are the ones paying their salaries. They treat people like we are getting free internet/cable. After 20 plus years with Charter and multiple issues with my email I decided to go with ATT. Three months after my cancellation I received a phone call from Spectrum stating I had a past due bill. I told them I had cancelled my service back in May and never received a bill after my cancellation date. She stated the bill had been sent to my email address which was not no longer in service as of 5/22. She stated the bill was for 5/23 and threatened to send me to collections for a bill I never received. I asked her for a paper copy to be sent by USPS to my home address. She refused to send the final bill. It took going to a person in a "leadership" position to agree to sending me a paper bill by mail, but the threats of collection continued. I can't pay a bill I don't receive. I've filed a complaint with the FCC and the BBB. I would stay as far away from this corrupt company as possible. read more

They have the worst customer service I've ever had to deal with. They are lying, deceiving. I need a new service for a house that is not mine yet, will be closing April 17. I had to call 3 times and every time I heard a different story: Call #1: the lady told me that at this address is a current service and she can't open a new account until the current owners cancel their service Call #2: a guy (based in St Louis, MO) told me that he can create a new account for me, friendly, we were talking for a long time how I will be at this only after April 16 and I don't want it to be shipped while the current owners are still at home and packing, I prefer to pick up the modem from their store. He told me that because of COVID I need an appointment, so he scheduled an appointment for April 16, 4:40 PM. The next day on April 10 I got an email with shipping details that the modem will be delivered April 13 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's exactly what I wanted to avoid and discussed the dates with the rep in details. Was he on drugs? Call #3: I called the customer service again, the guy said that the modem was shipped and he can't stop it, so now the modem will be delivered to the previous home owner! I asked him to cancel my appointment on April 16 at 4:40 PM. His response... there is no appointment set at this date. What do you think about customer service like this one? Spent over an hour on the phone with an agent setting up internet, TV and cell one week ahead of a move. Was told my self-install kit would be waiting when I arrived and my TV boxes would be delivered the day I moved in. Went to the local store to pick up my kit and was told the order had been cancelled straight after my call the week prior (nobody can explain why). I had to start the process all over. Thankfully they had the internet kits available, but one week later still waiting for cell and TV (although I think I'm paying for them). Upon moving to the Reno area we signed up for Spectrum internet, TV, and phone. The TV took about 2 weeks until we were able to see the guide. It kept us in a never ending circle that kept coming back to a video that we had already watched touting what a great product they were offering. The internet was a little iffy, so we opted to pay the additional $60 a month for the super fast service which doesn't seem to be as fast as the previous service was. However we plodded along, both working and not having the time to explore other options. We did have one problem which was to return our original modem. How hard can it be I thought, there's a Spectrum store right out on Disc Dr. I'll drop it off when I go out that way shopping. That's when the nightmare began. An hour and a half later of watching 5 separate employees stare at screens, occasionally finishing with a customer and then heading for the back room for what one can only assume was a break. One woman working there waited on one customer during the entire hour and a half, the retreated to the back room, came back out stared at the screen, then went about returning items to the shelves, back to the back room, and never waited on another customer the whole time I was there. Well, I'm an old cranky guy so after this ordeal I lost my cool, sat the modem on one of the desks, saying I couldn't wait any longer, just to be told that if I left it wouldn't be credited to my account, to which I offered up the old familiar suggestion. Spectrum's business model must be that the customer is always wrong because rather than handling the irate customer, me, with any dignity he engaged with me. Amazingly at that moment another employee called my name, and as I suspected from the start, it took less than a minute to complete my transaction. She was polite and probably happy to see me leave. What baffles me still is that Spectrum is constantly advertising their wireless phone service on TV. Why would anyone think they could possibly manage to get your phone calls and texts through when their own IT at their own facility seems to be akin to AOL in the 90s. read more

Now that the silly sales calls have stopped, things are much better. I highly recommend that you use Spectrum for your internet service (if you aren't in the itsy bitsy ATT Gigabit footprint in Reno/Sparks) and pick up a service such as Sling, Vue, YouTubeTV or even Philo (extra points for Vue/YTTV if you need local channels since they carry most of them) and tell them to keep their boxes. Once you pick up a Roku/Apple TV/Fire TV for your TVs you're going to have a much better experience overall. If you're reaallly hard up for local channels you can always do the Spectrum Stream TV tier which works with a couple of consoles, Roku and Samsung Smart TVs for your local channels as well. That being said I have had ZERO issues in both of the places I have lived in Sparks or Reno the past 5 years. A total of 2 service calls and 1 of those was due to my failing router. read more

Waiting in line for over an hour and all three employees have been with the same customers (and on the phone) the whole time!!!!! This is ridiculous. Get it together.
