They give a promotion to get sucked into using their service. The service is mediocre at best. The biggest problem is they incrementally increase your bill throughout the year. They offer great discounts for the first new client, and after that, it's an exorbitantly high rate, and not as good as AT&T and other companies. The wait for service is long. Today there were only two representatives assisting. The wait time is VERY long. One of the representatives in the lobby wasn't assisting. It looked like he was "working " on a task. No fault of his. Not enough staff to help customers. The two staff members were professional and friendly but I had to leave. I even came early to avoid the crowd. I left. Maybe another Spectrum store is better staffed. But I returned to the Encino Spectrum store 2 hours later to find four staff members. Unfortunately the employee I dealt with just in returning my equipment was extremely disrespectful and combative. Maybe he was going through some mood swings but I don't think it's okay to take out your anger on a paying customer who is just asking simple questions. To make a long story short, he refused to help me because he said "I can't do that here, I'm not in charge of billing" when I asked what my current plan was, and if I could change it. He said "I'm just in sales I can't deal with that" Just a very saddening experience that some grown man can be so disrespectful and unhelpful. A company that takes advantage of everybody! When my 95 year old mother was no longer able to manage her bills I looked at her Spectrum bill and they had added on additional charges for years. When I called to stop those services they said she had added it by using her cable box. I know the cable box only has 1 button, on and off. I had heard this story from them before when they added other charges to her account. I also RETURNED the cable boxes to the Spectrum store and when we received notice from a collection company, we had been reported by Spectrum for not having retiurned the box. Spectrum never notified us that they had an outstanding bill for the box we had RETURNED! There are so many ways to enjoy life WITHOUT SPECTRUM! At each opportunity I will try to warn people to stay away from Spectrum. With such great streaming you don't need them! I felt uneasy at first without cable TV but don't miss them at all. ATT is my internet and I have great service from them. My fellow office mates have since gotten rid of Spectrum with my encouragement and are relieved and happy. read more

We have an Apple Watch for my son and for some reason the number just didn't transfer over. Tried with Apple, tried with spectrum online....nothing. So we came into the store. A sales rep Elijah did 0 to help. He just blamed it on the watch, blamed it on Apple, told us it's not a cellular watch which it is. Just simply refused to help. We keep hoping that it was worth it to transfer to spectrum and so far people like Elijah make me regret that we did. read more

We were somewhat forced into having Spectrum internet because they cornered the market it the SFV. I would have loved to use anyone else. I've long been disappointed with the quality and price of spectrum's service. The internet (which I paid the highest amount for) was so slow that I couldn't watch sports on my TV. It took over a year for them to run the right line to get it fixed. Did they offer any credit for the terrible service? Of course not. This is the perfect example of a big company with terrible customer service that is only after the bottom dollar. If you can, save yourself the trouble and use a different internet provider. read more

Where does spectrum get off REPEATEDLY shutting off our Internet doing their maintenance without any warning whatsoever? This has happened several times within one month. And they often shut it off when I am in the middle of trying to transfer files to my office to satisfy very demanding clients! There is absolutely no excuse for doing this without fair warning! If I could give Spectrum ZERO stars, I would! Terrible customer service. I had been a loyal customer for 3 years, but after their high prices, I am done. I canceled my internet Wi-Fi service with them today after signing up with another company for the same service, but for HALF the price of Spectrum. When I canceled over the phone today, I was told that since my billing cycle started yesterday, I will have to pay for the ENTIRE month even though I will not have service with them. Seriously? Not willing to pro-rate me for the ONE day that they are providing service?! They are quick to try to sell you every package and get you signed up, but at the end of the day, they don't stand behind their customers. Do yourself a favor and find another service provider. read more

The free movies are terrible because they insert a 3-4 commercials EVERY 8-10 minutes of the movie so you end up watching15-20 minutes of commercials making the movie watching a TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE especially for a service that one is supposed to watch commercial free in theory. read more

After 4 1/2 years of way-inflated rates, I finally got off of Spectrum. They just kept raising it and raising it. All just profit for them. Verizon finally came into my neighborhood and now I pay $50.00 a month again for internet quality that is even better than Spectrum. There were many times when I had Spectrum when it would go out for short periods, and the occasional long period of an hour or two or four. They always refused to refund any money during the outage periods for whatever reason. When I discontinued service in the middle of the month, they refused to refund the difference for days I'd paid for already. At the time I moved to this neighborhood, AT&T (my provider for 10+ years before that) did not work. The AT&T tech told me that it would not work and that I had to buy Spectrum instead. Goodbye, Spectrum! I can't say it was nice knowing you. During the worst years of the pandemic, 2020-21, your service had a LOT of bad periods that I paid for in full. My workplace wasn't even reimbursing me. I hope all my money helped fund a nice trip to Bora Bora or a Lamborghini for your CEO! Oh, and your customer service people are jerks. read more

The Home Theatre Department at Spectrum handles more difficult installations. We worked with Richard and Tiko. They were absolutely awesome. So professional, knowledgeable, pleasant and clean. We had very limited attic crawlspace, like maybe 18 inches. It presented no problem whatsoever for them. They completed the installation in under an hour.
