The worst customer service I've ever had my DVR went out yesterday watching the baseball game call spectrum spoke to representative couldn't get my DVR back working which runs my television which runs my cable he said he couldn't be able to get out to my house until Friday so we ruin my day watching baseball my Thursday is ruined I do not recommend I will never recommend spectrum to anybody in fact if you do have spectrum they are the worst customer service I am very beside myself they won't even bend over do anything for me. Here we go again another bad review for spectrum received a letter in the mail yesterday saying that if I want to keep watching television through spectrum I would need to purchase a DVR box for each of my televisions in my home. I have three televisions in my house that I have never had to use another box to watch spectrum now they're saying I have to add a box to each of my televisions at $10-$15 a month charge now they're controlling us!! I asked the tech to install a new service for me . He did one jack and was rushing to leave. I tried to talk to him and he acted like he had hearing problem. I had to repeat 2 to 3 timea for 1 sentence. I used 2 of my devices to check internet speed. Both indicated unable jumping from 45 bmp to 14 bmp. I told him the situation. He showed me his phone that I had good speed. It was both my phone had problem. Anyway, he said nothing he could do about it . Most tech will try to check other jacks but not him. He didnt even try different area to see have better signal. I told him to wait so I could call the company and he replied and said nope coz he had another order to do. At the end, he slamed the door at me. This is spectrum now....be aware of unprofessional tech with unstable internet services read more

Today would be the 3rd time having to call Spectrum and having to speak to 3 representatives and 2 supervisors. Everyone (EXCEPT Representative Roysla) attempted to accuse me of either paying a different account or paying a MetLife account that has the same transaction description that shows through your bank. Incorrect. In all I had to spend over 3 breaks meaning 3 hours to get my refund back. Never happened despite this so-called "authorized transaction" looks the same as my actual authorized payment I had made earlier this month. I've been in customer service for half my life. For someone who has that privilege of helping others out, this company will give you the run around, waste your valuable time with untrained staff, accuse you of something that had not happened and keep your money. Don't waste your time with this company. Instead, use DIRECT TV if you need cable, internet, phone and fax or APPLE TV for your cable. They might be a little more but you'd be paying the same in the long run with the amount of unauthorized transactions they'll make behind your back!!! read more

I don't recommend spectrum at all. It is the worst ever. We lose sound all the time. We lose channels all the time. It is So true you get what you pay for. We never had a problem with DirecTv. We will be going back. read more

I am having MAJOR issues since spectrum began requiring a box on every tv. The picture has pauses, pixel latency issues and sound muting spontaneously. Some channels it is non stop and others it's sporadic enough to still be frustrating. I've had 2 techs out and called 3 times. Everyone I've talked to has simply switched to dish. SERIOUSLY considering ....anyone else lose having these issues? Anyone get any positive resolution from Spectrum or do they just don't care? I see a lot of negative yelps with no comments and that is surprising to me.... read more

Horrible experience with brighthouse. Was charged 157 for a bundle with the request to have my old phone number transfer from 11/o5 till this date my phone line has not been transfer. Requested internet I assume it came with Wifi nope have to get my own router to have this!!! Go figure I paid for cable and wifi at my mother in law no problem but for my another place nothing but bad service. Need to wait another week they gave me a phone line with different number to which family and friends don't have. This transfer is for my 80yr old parents and they can't get their messages or reminders. Poor service now I have to transfer back to At and T should have never change!!!!! Pretty sleazy. I called in to change my credit card info for automated payments because my card on record had been compromised. I received my bill and there is a $5.00 charge for "Agent Assist Payment Fee Adj" on it for the same date I called in to change my credit card info. I called Spectrum and advised no one ever told me I would be charged $5.00 for that call/to change my credit card info. They agreed to credit me $5.00 on my next bills. I went in today they have alot of people waiting on 2 workers employees are rude they need to be more helpful with a line just for payments another line just for dropping off and a line for new services. I would give 0 stars if it was an option. Since the switch to "all digital" I now have 0 TVs that work reliably. 3 not at all since they do not have a box. 3 work sometimes and require constant rebooting. That takes 15 minutes. Well the show is over by then. I have been on hold for over 40 minutes just to be told to disconnect the boxes, take them to the office and wait in line to exchange them. My bill for phone, internet and cable is $250/month. They informed me it would now be $280 per month for the "upgraded service". I have no service more often than not. I guess that is what they call an upgrade. I'm done. I hope they go bankrupt. No company deserves it more! read more

Excellent internet, mid-grade technicians, and extremely high price to speed ratio. Internet: There is nothing bad to say about the internet. It's the fastest in Bakersfield and from my experience as a customer for 6 years the up time is 99.9% and you get the speed you pay for literally 99.9% of the time. What I like the most is how it never goes down. I play a lot of video games and the internet never ever gets disconnected. Also my ping is always extremely low, around 10-30 for most online games. The router they give you is free and very good. It's 5GHz N router with somewhat long range and very customizable settings. I pay for 90MB/10MB speed and get 100MB/11MB 99.9% of the time, the other 0.1% the speed is at least over 80MB. The only bad thing about the speed is the very slow upload. $108 and 90mb download paired with a 10mb upload speed... are you for real bright house? You call that gaming internet? Someone is asleep at the wheel. Customer support and technicians: The customer support over the phone and live chat is fast and good. On the other hand, the install technicians aren't that great. They should have a lot more knowledge than they do. It often takes them a very long time and multiple trips out to fix any problems you may have. If they can't fix a problem after a while, for an example a connection or speed issue, they will try to throw the blame on something else so they can just leave and not fix it. In the 6 years I've had bright house internet I only had connection problems one time. This one time though it took 15 technicians on 12 different trips over the period of 2 months to fix my connection problem. During this time almost every visit after a few hours they would not fix the problem, instead they would just guess replace something like the router or a piece of cable or spend the whole time doing work outside. Then say they fixed it and leave with the problem not fixed. This finally got resolved as I kept making them come back over and over. If you are having problems with your internet, just make them keep coming back out. No matter how many times they come or what they say when they come, if they don't fix it they HAVE to come back and try again. Price: The only bad thing about Bright House and the reason I removed one star is because it is EXTREMELY overpriced. Now I don't mean its pricey. I am telling you it is flat out a rip off. Go check other cable internet web sites right now and compare prices. I pay $108 a month for 90MB download and a very tiny 10mb upload. It's so overpriced I actually find it funny, but it's the only good internet in Bakersfield since DSL is the only other option and DSL sucks. Conclusion: Very reliable and constant speeds and up time. Good customer support, bad service technicians. Extremely overpriced compared to other cable ISPs. It's still worth paying for because it's the only good internet in Bakersfield because the only other option is DSL and that sucks. Sometimes it would be nice to roll out of bed on a Saturday morning and watch Netflix or Hulu while I wake up. Not with Brighthouse Cable Wifi. Constantly going out and your leisurely morning turns into a hassle having to call customer support to resend signal, unplug modem to reboot it and it still will not work. Cable is supposed to be stable. It is a wide pipe that is slowed down with filters to charge different tiers. So much for my relaxing Saturday morning. Customer service doesn't seem to understand that if it is working fine on their end and not on my end, it doesn't do me any good. Looking for an alternative. read more

I'll never badmouth Brighthouse again. I made the huge mistake of switching to Direct for two gut-wrenching years. If they were so hot, why did I have to sign a 2 year contract? No HD local channels, no LA or Valley PBS, no LA channels at all, and horrid technical support. And they freely admitted that it was their mistake when I didn't get the advertised intro price, and apologized profusely, but I would still get dinged if I cancelled early. If they spent more on their product, and less on advertising, they might be better. And most importantly, they have sent out servicemen (often in less than a day) for any problems I've had, free of charge. Yeah, I'm not crazy about paying $165 a month for cable, TV, and internet, but you get what you pay for. read more

They sent my mom the wrong box even though she told them she had an older model TV. I went to exchange it and was told I would have an hour wait even thought it was their fault. Unacceptable. They should have a different line for different things....one line for paying bills, one line for returning equipment, etc. read more

Poor customer service is a priority for this provider. If it were possible to give a negative rating I would. Originally I signed up with brighthouse...when AT&T bought brighthouse i began to worry I had left AT&T 3 yrs before for bad internet service, and terrible customer service, within a few months I began getting spotty signal on my wifi. A technician came to my house and said my wifi router was incompatible with their system. So I purchased the reccomended model. It improved but not to the promised speeds...customer service said those were best case speeds and that was not realisic expectations during peak usage...great excuse. I began researching other providers and found that AT&T had bought and consolidated all the providers in my area...since the recent hurricanes i lose all internet signal every other day between 11am and 8pm, when I call customer service (after waiting as much as 1hr and 45 minutes) the personnel tell me there is an interruption and if I ask them to they credit my bill for the day. On my last conversation the representative told me there were 274 customers on the same node as me and only 4 had a signal. I asked the representative if he was going to credit the other 269 customers, he said if they didn't call they would not receive a credit. This tells me that if I catch them they'll do the honest thing and credit me, but if I dont they will let me eat the cost for services lost. This is the business model that provider is following. While sitting on hold most messages discuss innovative ways I can pay my bill, or the fact that a storm 3000 miles away can cause interruptions in my service or delays in answering the phone. I called Huges network and they will be installing service on monday with no installation fee for 4.95 a month more than my present cost. Good bye, and good riddance to AT&T/Spectrum's terrible service and poor ethics. read more

Our internet and cable had been slow for a while so we called cust service for a tech to come out and look at our issue. The tech who came out was Art. He was amazing. Never had such a knowledgeable tech to explain why and what he was doing the things he did. He was very conscientious about his work. I can say I'm actually happy with spectrum at this point. If it wasn't for Art, I would probably be looking at other options. Thank you Art for job well done. I hope spectrum appreciates what a great employee they have. read more

I had spectrum for a while I decided to cancel so i did .i was told by one of the customers service person that was not a problem and they would not charge me for the rest of the month so i even took my credit car of the auto payment, two days later that i canceled they charge me 130 dollars that i didn't not ok. I been calling they give the run around oh and guess what im not going to get my money back even when they said they will refund it..im say keep it but im not the only customer they will lose. really disappointed they way it was handled even the supervisor said there is nothing to be done.. read more

If you can watch TV, get online and use your phone without Spectrum (previously Brighthouse) DO IT! They have control and they know it. They have trained their kind polite customer service people to be able to politely tell you, Hahaha you're stuck with us SUCKER!! Sure I can go to Verizon or AT&T, but I haven't heard good things about them either. If I went with DISH or the like, I would still need to have Spectrum in order to have my basic stuff. Today when I called I sat on hold for more than 3 minutes, with BH I never had to hold more than a few seconds. I just found out a promotion BH put us on called the Step program actually does step, UP a full $20 from last year. And it will increase again next year and again until it tops out at the true price in 2019. Overall an increase of $60.00. I knew when Spectrum was coming in we would all regret it. You people are worthless. Our neighborhood has a power box that sits on the side of the sidewalk on Hahn Ave, between Foxboro and Edmonton. A few months ago someone took the front off the box and stole the power supply for the neighborhood, After several calls, a service person came out and replaced the batteries or whatever they use in those boxes to keep our internet, cable and phone service running. Well, this evening I noticed that the front of the power box was again missing. Trying to be proactive, I called you, got transferred twice, and was told that to get it fixed, I had to be home between 8 am and 10 am,they said that it was because the repair report was on my account. Its NOT JUST MY ACCOUNT THAT IS GOING TO BE AFFECTED.. I tried to make the two women on the phone understand that it was the powerbox for the whole neighborhood, not my house, that we hadnt lost our services yet, I was just hoping that they could get it fixed before it happened.. We we "upgraded" and have a box that now overheats and does not allow us to watch tv, our phone line was dropped and so now our home alarm is disabled as well as our gate to enter our home community. I have the 45mbs download internet only. Although it is expensive, I have no complaints about the service. It does the job but it is damn expensive which is why I removed two stars. I've had bright house for several years and at first I had problems with losing signal and my internet would have to be reset often but I got a hold of a guy in tech support who diagnosed that my signal strength was too high which was kicking me offline. A simple device was attached to my modem to lower my signal frequency to my modem and I have had solid uninterrupted service. read more

we use to get Bright House at the RV park and now that Spectrum has changed the channel line up it got worse. We have a loud sound from the TV that sounds like a plastic bat bouncing around loudly and fuzzy channels. TBS and FX channels are now in Spanish except for the English commercials. We asked for help getting it taken care of and no one is showing up to fix the problem. We were notified that since they messed up the channels that we would need to pay 100.00 for a box to receive digital better. Any attorney out there? On Sat jan 28th service went out...wasn't just me few people that I know in the area had same issue. After no service all day called later that night was told yes there was a outage but it was resolved so my equipment was messed up. Eventually it came back on. From then till Tuesday morning service was in and out. I did a ton of speed tests. When it was down Id get 1mbs for my download. My upload is fine. My issue comes from the fact everytime I call I get different answers. At one point I was told they were laying fiber optics. Then Tuesday I get a call saying it was resolved. It worked fine till tonight at 8pm. Back on the phone and no resolution. He did say someone else in the area called for the same thing. If they are infact trying to upgrade the lines great...give everyone a heads up. If not then figure out the problem. Its not the equipment. And get your story straight, inform your employees so we are all on the same page and at least have a answer since I am a paying customer. read more

We got our Spectrum bill on Monday, 3/23/20. We have 3 cable boxes, internet and home phone service. Decided to save a little money and downgrade our Cable TV service to the Select package and return 2 of the boxes. We called the customer service line, the rep was polite enough and she immediately adjusted our channels (no more HBO or Showtime). She said we had to take the boxes in ourselves. We asked for an appointment because last time I went in the Bakersfield office, I signed in as #21, and after an hour, made it up to 5, but couldn't wait longer and left. She gave us a phone # and we called another customer service line and that rep scheduled us an appointment for Tuesday, 3/24/20, at the California Ave location at 4:40. He assured us the office was open and we wouldn't have to wait long. He even gave us a confirmation #. So today, 3/24/20, we went to the office at our scheduled time and it was CLOSED. I immediately called customer service to tell them I did what I was supposed to do, and I wanted to be sure that they stopped charging me for the boxes today- not my fault I couldn't return them. The rep told me it didn't matter, because I'd already been billed for the boxes and my billing cycle runs to 4/15/20, so regardless, I'll be charged for downgraded channels and the boxes through that date even if I return them before. Spectrum doesn't prorate! What!? He said they haven't prorated charges since November 2018 and they sent notifications out on my May 2019 billing. What!? Why didn't the rep tell me yesterday. So of course I told him to give me back those channels I'm stuck paying for 20 more days! He did it, but now that we're home and hooked the boxes back up, still no HBO. That's another phone call- ugh! I don't think highly of Spectrum at all. They seem to have a total lack of communication between areas and they are not customer friendly. I decided to switch to the new spectrum from At&t uverse for my internet and tv....so I scheduled a Saturday 6 to 8 appt to install. The service man showed up flowed by a helper they got there at 8:15 and were at the house until 10:45...all wemt well they were very plesant and seemed competent. At the end of the appt 2 of 4 of my dvr were working and the internet router was not...they called someone and were told their computer was down and they could not activate the other 2 dvr's or the internet router. They said they would come by tomorrow and finish ...it would only take a few minutes. I explained I worked 8-5 on Sunday and could not be there until shortly after 5. They said they worked until 6 and would be there from 5-6. On Sunday at 6:15 I called to make sure they had not forgotten me, I spoke to Riley who saod she was very sorry but she was unable to comtact them since their dispatcher was closed and she did not know why they would tell me that since they did not work in that area on Sunday's . She scheduled me an appt for Wed at 4 This shows very little integrity...they lied to my face...A very bad way to start a good relationship....I am not sure that I will keep them or not...I currently have no service. Well my Bright house bill just went up $15. When I called to complain, she stated that the now $89 a month was still not as high as they were going to go. I told her to shut it off as I have an unlimited data plan with T-Mobile that I pay extra to not throttle. All my TV's can stream videos from my phone, etc. I can do 95% of what I want to do on the internet using my phone. For the rest I will just go to my office. Besides, I told her I would call back in a month and see what plans they had for new customers (you only have to be off their plan for 30 days to be considered a new customer). If I could give ZERO stars, I would. Their customer service is a joke and service isn't all that. Unfortunately, this is the only service in my area, so I was stuck. I canceled the service and was told I would be receiving a refund because the bills are paid in advance of use. First off, they "lost" the equipment that their technician took from the service address, then they proceeded to take another ACH payment out, even though the account was closed and I was paid through the following month. (Apparently, if you chose "stop automatic draft" online it doesn't stop them. You have to call in & and request that, even though that option is available on their website) So, they tagged me with an equipment fee and it took 4 months for them to "find" the equipment. They still say I owe money even though I was told multiple times that I was due a refund. I have requested numerous times for statements be sent to my home (not at the service address) so that I can review them and determine if, in fact, I truly owe money. Since I closed my account, I am unable to view the statements online. I am still waiting 8 months later. They are dishonest and shrewd and just plain HORRIBLE in just about everyday. I recently made the decision to switch to Spectrum wireless. I am so sorry that I made this choice. They sent me the wrong phone - when I brought to their attention, they wanted me to pay a $50 restocking fee. When I asked why - since the mistake was made by their company - they said it was policy...when escalated to a supervisor- they said the same thing. In addition to the $200 I had already paid to sign up and the $50 restock fee- they wanted me to pay AGAIN the taxes on the phone. Which I had already paid the first time. On the phone they sent incorrectly. Again- it was their mistake - they sent a different phone than the one I ordered when I signed up. Additionally - the customer service has been rude and unhelpful. It takes about 6-7 times of being put on hold and explaining the situation each time to even get a supervisor to call me. And if you aren't available to answer their call? The threaten they will not call back again - you only get 2 tries. This has been a maddening experience and I would not recommend spectrum to anyone. I am stuck with a phone I did not order. If I cancel their services? - the woman said they will immediately charge my phone for the full amount of the phone. Wow. Just wow. Dont switch - if you're considering it - don't do it. read more
