What started out as a switch over from Verizon to AT&T just to save some money, turned quickly into a regret solely based on the store's customer service. We had Kimberly and she was super helpful and we appreciated her assistance, but the whole process in itself should not have taken as long as it did. From faulty equipment to the too lazy to go ask a question ( not Kimberly), we were not impressed at all and agreed the change over was not worth the value of the hassle. Not to mention, I see dropped pants on guys regularly, on the streets. I shouldn't have to see a representative of AT&T wearing them like that in the store, but hey, at least your underwear matched the AT&T colors, Al. Ruined Christmas surprise by activating my wife's new phone without asking me when I went to pick it up. My wife knew right away bc her old phone was deactivated. Absolutely livid they did that without even asking nor mentioning it. I've done this a dozen times and they've never activated on just an online order pickup. What an excellent experience! I assisted my mother and aunt, who are 86 and 89, get some help assessing my aunts cell phone. Our service rep was I believe named all "AL". After explaining the issue, he promptly verified the account and began assessing the problem. What stuck out was how courteous he was and patience with my mom and aunt. He addressed them as "Ms ..." which showed a sign of respect. Which is huge for elderly people. He also didn't mind slowing down instructions to make sure they understood. Again greatly appreciated. Thanks her phone was able to be fixed without cost, this is a great value! Possibly in the fire when a new phone will be warranted, AL will be available to assist us. I was given directions on how to solve a long-standing problem (thank you Apple Support). Came into the store to change a security account code. Waited over 2 hours to get any help whatsoever. I understand that I was a walk in but the place wasn't crowded at all and it seemed that the staff spent more time huddled around each other than helping the customers. My work Wednesday was okay, but when my wireless ear buds decided to quit on me, it was time to purchase some new ear buds. I decided to go for the iPods pro since everything I own is apple products. I drove to AT&T on Ming. Parking was good and the front entrance was regulated for Covid-19. I was called in and seated on a table. The representative was polite and very professional. He showed me all options of AirPods and explain the difference between them all. I was able to put on my account with no hassle, I just had to pay taxes which were really cheap. I arrived at this business at 4:30 in the afternoon I was a walk-in customer. The customer service reps and the manager continue to help people that were walking in ignoring those of us that were sitting waiting patiently. I approach the manager and asked when I was going to be helping she said that I would have to wait my turn. I stated that she was helping everyone walking through the door and ignoring us she said well you just have to wait your turn. About 20 minutes later I went up to her and I asked her if someone was going to come and help us and she said everybody's on break or lunch. Why would she send all of her staff on break or lunch at the same time leaving her the only person in the store with at least eight customers waiting to be helped? This store was the worst store in this is 4300 Ming Ave., Bakersfield CA 93309. The manager should be fired and the crew should be fired in the store should be rehired. I have been dealing with customer service for MONTHS, since February to be exact. Because of an mistake that was made at this location. Management at this location was no help at all, they brushed it off and said "call customer service" at this point, I should be on ATT payroll for the amount of time I've spent on the phone trying to resolve the issue. And management at this store, instead of trying to help me solve my issue, they threaten me and ban me from their locations due to a negative review on Yelp. Pathetic. Suggest this store pay attention to the productivity of your staff. Our guests' time is also time. Our times matter. There are only two people working in the entire store. I have a problem to solve and there is only one client in front of me. So, I waited for over an hour. The worker was there chatting with the customer, the service worker with glasses and a beard, chatting for over an hour. Yes, I checked my watch, a full hour. So I left because I didn't know how many more hours I would have to wait. Jeff was amazing! I had a fairly time-consuming issue and he was friendly, patient and professional. Yes, it did take a while but he never showed any signs of frustration as he merged multiple devices into one account. I'm surprised to see the negative reviews here, and especially those who clearly don't understand how all this works. Wait times are inevitable here so plan ahead. Angela informed me that they were short-handed, and said of all things, "I don't think you understand what I'm saying, so I'm just gonna walk away from you." Really?! I understand that sometimes people don't know everything and that sometimes waits can be unmanageable. This was unbelievable. I went in to have my physical SIM moved to an ESim after taking with an online tech rep. She said it was possible. The wait was over almost an hour to meet with anyone. Completely unacceptable. The gentleman was able to activate my ESim successfully and it worked. I asked him to make the ESim my primary number and that's when it all went downhill. Now the ESim "magically" stopped working. I would have to "buy a new line in order for it to work" The gentleman offered to sell me a prepaid line for $30. Having waited 1:30 at this point, I said ok. He wandered to the back and magically the $30 prepaid line became a monthly $15 line! I tried to show online official ATT forum posts detailing the process to do the esim as a primary number and was told it wasn't possible to get to that point, despite it having worked not more than 30 minutes previously. Now that I had waited 2 hours for this point, I asked if perhaps his manager could help out. He wandered to the back and "Izzy" was in a virtual meeting. Then if I wanted anything further done on my phone, I would have to return tomorrow. I'm a reasonable person, I don't often write negative yelp reviews. I think this was ridiculous. read more

I usually don't like to leave reviews for bigger companies but after seeing all of the other reviews, I feel the need to. The store itself is very nice, updated and sleek. Location isn't bad, it is off a main street and there is plenty of parking. The first time I went in I was told I needed to wait for a rep to be available. While waiting for about 10 min a rep named Daniel informed me that if I had time, it would be best to make an appointment so I didn't have to wait. I did so for later that week (Based off the previous reviews, I am very thankful for that). When I went in for my appointment I went in for a business account (which I didn't tell him originally) and unfortunately he wasn't able to help me too much but he did give me phone numbers and helped me get a better understanding of what it was I was looking to get done. Daniel then helped me with my personal account. I'd been experiencing really bad WiFi connection. By the time I was done I had an appointment scheduled for a tech to go out and take a look at what was wrong, bundled up some service and he ended up saving me $45 a month! He was super professional, very polite and went above and beyond for me. This is my new go to location, even though I have an office closer to me. read more

Well, it appears as though I was wrong about the current management of this shop. After reading the reviews and posting my own. I had little faith that I would receive any help from the store level. In fact I didn't even start at that level. After a few calls to the corporate office, I received a call from Adam the store manager. He was very polite and seemed to be on the top of his game. He is obviously not the same manager that has earned the store such a bad rating. I was happy to work with Adam to get my concerns taken care of. He went above and beyond what I thought he would do. My nephew passed away in August. I had been paying his bill and mine. Eventually I moved his number under mine as a transfer. As the estate moved forward, I needed to remove his phone from my account and close it. I went in to understand the charges on my bill plus ask about his closed account - which had been paid - showing charges. I had his death certificate with me plus my phone bill. I had to explain more than once to the initial person. She got her manager. I was trying to explain again and she kept talking over me. I said "I'm still talking". She said "I'm not going to waste my time with you." Nice, right? I'm grieving, trying to do the right thing and they can't be bothered to listen to their customer. I came home crying. I believe a Miguel was the employee who helped my older parents who know nothing about technology and have a hard time understanding plans but he was ready to take full advantage of that fact! This particular store is pretty deceiving. They sell promotions and word them so that you are not clear on what you're getting. They talk about what you will save but neglect to mention that you don't need the promotion you are getting. If you need a translator I suggest you bring your family or someone who you know because they will not help you out. Instead they take advantage of people who don't understand, and when you talk to them or go back for help they tell you to call customer service and have clearly said "if we explained your contract to you, we would both be here for longer than we need to" and that's quoted. They're all about sales! Be clear before you go into what they are offering because once you wanna go back to your old plan they make it very difficult for you. We even asked to speak to customer service from the store so everyone was on the same page and they said they don't do that but when we called customer service they said that is possible. I was reviewing my bill to see when my phone was paid off noticed I wasn't getting the promotion on my younger kids phones so I called in to loyalty they told me cause they couldn't find it in their system. This is an easy A review for me, whenever I have questions about my service theyre always there to help. When I say "they" im refering to Kat, from start to finsih she was nothing short of great, from answering all my questions to AMAZING customer serivice. If you have AT&T and have questions about your bill or even just want to upgrade, shes the girl to talk to. The store its self is off the charts AMAZING, very clean and orginized and most of the time they have coffee for their clients, what gets better then free coffee. I will warn you, ITS FREEZING in there, but Im not complaining we are in Bakersfield. As soon as you walk in the door you get greeted by an employee and they imediately check you in. The store is usually busy, but the staff is very quick. Ive never waited longer than 15 minutes to be seen, even without and appointment. Anyways, back to the employees, Kat is my go to staff member. Not only is she always friendly, shes completely honest. You may think to yourself, "An honest salesperson? Theres no way!" Well, WAY my friends, anytime she sees theres something wrong with my service shes always there to help and most of the time saves me MONEY! Go to another location!! Wasted 30 minutes after being erased by mistake from the waiting list by the greeter. After complaining she put me back on queue and told me it would be another 30 minutes!! WHAT!!!???!!!! She refused to placed on me on top of the list even when she was the one making the mistake. So I asked her if she could help me out but she didn't know the current promotion, after telling me she has work there for many years! Duhhh! Pissed, I walk out and while driving home I looked my phone for another location, I when to the one at Truxtun. I went to this store to ask about my account. When I got there, the worker John was helping a lady with a difficult issue. After waiting for about 10 to 15 minutes, I asked him how much longer he thought he would be. He said probably 25 minutes. I told him I would pop next door and be back. He said ok. I was gone 10 minutes. When I got back, another customer was waiting. He was still with the same person he was with when I left. He finally finished with that customer. The big surprise came when he helped the lady who came in after me. His response was that I left the store and lost my place. In our conversation, he never told me that I would lose my place in line. If he had, I of course would not have left. Extremely disrespectful. Of course, I am an old white lady and he and the other two customers were hispanic. (Also, I might add, the other two customers were not wearing masks. It says right on the door that masks are required.) When I called ATT to complain, they asked me to get a phone number from him and he refused. They asked him to give another number and he refused. The ATT lady finally said to put him on loudspeaker. I love my iPhone, and I love being able to walk into any AT&T store and get fabulous technical service for it without an appointment. I was out and about this week when suddenly anything involving data on my phone stopped working. I could make phone calls and text, but I couldn't check my email, check my Facebook, or surf the internet. I decided to use my Yelp phone app to find a local AT&T store to go to and... NO DATA = NO YELP APP. SHIT JUST GOT REAL. I went old school and called my mother and had her get out a phone book to find this location and set off to find it. It is located on a pad building easily visible from the street which made it quite easy to find. This store was full of customers and was quite busy. There were two employees waiting by the door tablets who took my name and put me on the list which is posted on a monitor suspended from the ceiling. I was sixth on the list, but I could see that one of the people ahead of me had requested a particular associate (I didn't even know you could do that) and one had requested a Spanish speaking associate so I had high hopes I might be able to jump the line a bit. The store was brightly lit with plenty of open space. There are fluid lines in the curved drop down section of the ceiling that gave a feeling of flow and movement to the space. It seemed like a long wait, but there were ten employees out front helping people plus the two greeting people and signing them in, so they were well equipped to handle the rush. When Michele, the employee assigned to me, approached me she was quite friendly. She asked if I wished to upgrade my phone and when I told her I was happy with my phone she laughed and made a joke about me waiting so long to see her because I was satisfied with my phone. :) I told her what was wrong with my phone and said I hoped it was something easy that she would laugh and fix quickly. She promised not to laugh, though I told her that if she could get me back on my way quickly she had my permission to laugh all she wanted. I won't go into the embarrassing details, but she had my phone working in less than a minute and I was back on my way. Okay, I'll spill the beans, she turned it off and turned it on again and ~ voila! Seriously, that is a tech person's number one trick because it really works. It's what I usually try first with computers. Anyway, pleasant atmosphere, efficient handling of customers, friendly and knowledgeable tech people ~ what more could I ask for? Oh, there was no charge for the tech support, there never is when I go to AT&T stores which is what I like so much about using this company for my cell service. read more
