I have never had a problem with bright house customer service. They have 24-hr phone service so anytime day or night that I call they are there. Every time I've called they take care of the problem. Brighthouse has been great. My internet is always working, no interruptions. Streaming speed is good for the most part. It pauses sometime when I'm streaming on my Wii, but my Roku never experiences any issues. The only complaint I have was with the initial installation technician. He was unprofessional and actually argued with his supervisor on speakerphone in front of me. And since he couldn't complete the installation, they sent a new guy out the next day. The second tech installed everything quickly and made sure everything was functioning prior to his departure. Aside from this, no issues. read more

I was a member in the process of moving. I had escrow problems and had to wait for about a month. I contacted Brighthouse numerous times of the situation. When the installer arrived, he informed me that it was a new service and that my old service was cancelled. I had to come up with another $115. What a joke. My wife also told me that she felt uncomfortable with the installers. She was looked at like a piece of meat. How unprofessional! Worst cable , Internet provider in the world . Cheap customer service and on top of that they send out private contractors who try to squeeze an extra buck out of people to your house to connect your cable and wifi. To make it even worse these contractors speak No English and are fresh out of prison so Not Very professional in my opinion . Sooooo, I switched from AT&T because Spectrum came to my door telling me how great their service was and how much cheaper it was and that If I left AT&T they would pay my last bill to get out of AT&T. I have had Spectrum for a month now and the cable sucks! The internet sucks! And now they are saying that they won't pay my last bill. Only the Early termination fee which I don't have because I was with AT&T for so long! If they would have told me his from the beginning I would have not switched. Now I have to pay $300 to AT&T because of the bill and late fees because I waited so Spectrum would pay it and now I'm stuck with spectrum and at&t bill! plus the contract buyout is such a hassle and annoying. By far the worst Internet service I have ever had. I have had my modem replaced that they provided only for the next one to fail. I bought my own after that. They have been here multiple times for speed issues. I should be getting 30 mbps. Very rarely do I get that, most of the time between 3-12. It is very very inconsistent. So I called and they said they'd bump my speed up for free to 35 mbps. I am still only getting 4 mbps. Internet so slow I can't even watch youtube videos. I have another service call set up now for Monday. I will update this with a positive review if they can get it fixed, if not, this review stands. Don't get Brighthouse if you can at all avoid them. Rip offs! If I could get uverse internet, I would. I never had issues with it being inconsistent like this. read more

Horrible and bad service. Had bad modems from them for a year, they swapped out 5 modems , moved them around our house twice. Added repeaters. Finally went back to our router with stronger signal than theirs. Worked two days than bam. No Internet no wifi. Called them up and was yelled at said it was my fault I'm using my own equipment. Than explain why I have had issues for over a year with their router!??! Lady told me your not paying for wifi it's your equipment it's your fault. I was in tears had a bill to pay to keep my power on and no internet and top it off was told it's my fault! I have been told it was bad modems from their tech guys to we are sorry it was a forced update everyone's having wifi issues. So many lies, I tried and paid for their equipment Had lines replaced, upgraded wireless devices, moved the modem so many times, upgraded my services costing me more money and still wifi is spotty. They told me for another 10.00 a month I can get their top of the line wifi router. I was furious they did not offer this at first and now they want me to spent more money!! We run a home based business and this has been a nightmare. I have the direct number to escalated services and the manager, that's how bad it's been. All I got for a year of headaches is a free month once. I just want it fixed. I paid more upgraded used their modem and routers. I'm not paying anymore. I didn't deserve to be yelled at and told I'm not paying for wifi and they cannot help me if I use my own router. I'm already to file a complaint with the BBB and go with AT&T Internet. Will be calling the manager today to complain about how I was treated, my husband had to call them back I was in tears! My patience has run out I calked an internet tech not affiliated with bright house. I was told by him that bright house will cap you speeds and share it with neighbors. He also informed me that they had gone into a 200.00 router and modified it so it was useless because they want you using their equipment. After what happened to my new router I believe him. No way to prove it but after the way I was treated and talking with computer techs they all say they can modify your equipment and mess it up . My question is why? since I loyally used all their equipment and paid so much to them. Answer , they tried to sake me a higher package for business and and pay for a faster router through them. They just want more money. In my book they owe me for all the days I had no internet. About 3 months total over a one year period. Absolutely the worse internet service ever. Technicians are UN-qualified, customer service is clueless. Every Saturday Morning and an occasional Friday night and Sunday morning, the connection drops out every 45 minutes to an hour. Have to reboot 2-3 times to reset modem. Installed own modem, replaced indoor cable. Doesn't happen during week, just seems like peek times on weekends. read more

The cable service sucks its always flickering freezes up. All channels go out for 5 to 10 minutes. This happens everyday all day long.

Had nothing but problems with Brighthouse. Their cable boxes are pieces of junk that have to be replaced with regularity. You can hardly ever enter the channel and have the box catch all of the numbers you enter. Internet router had to be reset about once a month or it wouldn't work. Finally when moving I called to cancel and got told 3 different things by 3 different people. Ended up with me waiting at an empty apartment for 10 hours waiting for a cable guy to show up. Finally called them to see when the heck they would be there and they said "oh we don't have you scheduled for today, but we already cancelled your service, just bring all the equipment in and you are good to go". This has to be the very worst internet provider now that I have ever seen I have had multiple issues with my internet since june 28 no one can fix and keep fixed internet speeds i am paying for 300 speed and getting 1/4 of that speed, Spectrum comes in says your internet is at 300 speed the guy leaves and im back down to 24kb its so ridiculous its now becoming stupid and i am still paying for fast internet which confirmed again last night its only 1/4. Why, why are consumers putting up with Spectrum? Their service is so very bad and their fees are ridiculous. It is especially bad in the Bakersfield area. Stopped at the store today and there were 18 people checked in and waiting - there were 3 employees that I could see. And this is the company that had the scum-low idea of taking their office out of Tehachapi. Their universal control broke/wore out/whatever and all I wanted to do was get a new one. So we have to drive 55 minutes (the one in Tehachapi was 3 minutes from anywhere in town) to find a store full of waiting customers and service at its worst. She told me "i can't give u any information about the account" ok...if I pay $80 will it cover it? She said "I can't give u any information about the account" so I give her $80 n she gives me a receipt with my girlfriend's NAME, ADDRESS, THE ACCOUNT NUMBER n the BALANCE! I told her "4 not being allowed 2 give out any information about the account u jus gave me everything there is 2 know about her! Gotta give credit where credit is due. I always use paperless billing and need digital copies of the invoices for my business records. When I recently moved, things were so hectic that I forgot to download those invoices - totally my bad. When I called Bright House customer service, they were not able to grant me temporary access to my online account. However, someone in Bright House customer service actually printed the missing invoices (page-by-page), hand-addressed and manually processed the envelope. Bright House went out of their way to help an idiot former customer (yeah, that would be me!) with an issue not of their making. Really, really good customer service. After a relocation within the city, I continue to be charged for equipment I turned into the contracted Spectrum tech over three months ago. I am a senior with mobility issues therefore would not be able to stand in service lines. Spectrum states equipment wasn't turned in therefore I'm being billed the $200.00. Since I have given them sufficient time (3 months) to solve this issue, and after being a 15 + year Bright House customer, I have cancelled their services. Very frustrated. read more

Doesn't matter, they are charging us! In my monthly billing , we receive the movie line up for the PREVIOUS month, this happens every month even though we have brought it to their attention. We were having lunch when my buddy's phone rings... the spectrum truck is on a hunt for his new place so they can install his wifi service after they've had 2 failed attempts. After telling my friend he didn't need to be home for the installation they call him and tell him he needed to come home because they couldn't get the back. After a couple of phone calls for directions and descriptions of the house we all agreed they were at the wrong house so my husband left the lunch table to meet the guys, since my friend is on crutches. After driving around for a couple of minutes they call my buddy again with attitude and he gets so frustrated he decided to leave the lunch table and find the spectrum installers himself. Turns out these guys were in a different city and admitted that they didn't even look at the work order to see what city he was in!!! Then to make matters worse they asked my friend to call their boss and tell him that they had to reschedule. Wow, thanks a lot spectrum, my friend now has great service with AT&T. read more

My internet service was great when Brighthouse was in charge. Once Spectrum took over there have been nothing but connectivity and speed issues. The staff at the California Avenue location didn't seem to be all that friendly. I'll be cancelling my service before the end of the month. read more

Nothing ever works. Once a month something goes wrong. I call and the technician says its a problem at the street and sends a guy to fix something at the street and then that guy says everythings fine. If everything was fine my cable and internet would work. I call back and the same thing happens. The technician says its a signal problem at the street and the guy who fixes stuff at the street says everything is fine. I don't think anyone has any training in anything other than making excuses and passing the blame to someone else. I have switched to direct tv and att internet and am much happier. Review for local Tehachapi office and in house tech`s. went in to pay my bill today and as always in and out in about 90 seconds I always stop by and pay my bill when I am in town. the ladies at the desk are always nice and polite. they are always fast with the transactions. as for the service in 15 years I have gone from 10mb to the 100 mb service I have now. My last upgrade actually dropped my bill by about 7 dollars a month. I use a 100 mb internet all house wifi phone service and hd cable service. a bit of services but I =feel at under 200.00 a month for all three including a few dvr`s it is not bad. the reliability has improved greatly over the years 15 years ago there were about 3 calls a year for them to tweak the line amps and fix tiling issues. the last few years there have been no service calls other then for my latest upgrade to 100mb (had to change the modem and I chose to use there wireless router to get the best wireless speed) I think I have had a few remotes go bad over the years but they always replaced them at the local office read more

Now since it switched to SPECTRUM they charge installation. I am an original Brighthouse customer and switched to Spectrum for a faster speed at the same price. They switched out the modem and I specifically asked if there was an installation charge and was told no. When I received my bill I was charged 34.99 for installation. I am very aggravated upon my experience and was told that there was nothing they can do. Ridiculous! I would have kept the other modem that was working just fine little slower but didn't have any issues or extra charges. Oh its a one time charge. I already was a customer! read more
