Let me begin by saying before I had the chance to checkout Speakeasy Ramen I had been told by at least 5 people that I MUST eat their because I would love it... Well, they were right! This is such a unique and special spot to eat and drink in Springfield. There is literally nothing like it in the area and honestly I think it would stand out in a much larger city also. I ordered the fried chicken on a house made taco type wrap and it is sooo tasty. The crunchy breading and tender chicken paired with a few veggies and sauce really made my taste buds happy. But, that was just the beginning! I had the 3 day beef bone broth (can't remember what it was actually called tho ) and it was the best ramen I've ever had. The flavors were so special and bold, I added a fair amount of hot oil and it really set things off! I can't say enough, try this restaurant, it is fantastic. But definitely worth it if you have a little.extra time. If I was a local, I'd stop in regularly for sure! It is a small local place, with a fairly simple menu, And little bigger and more diverse drink selection beer - wine - mixed drinks. They really just have like 7 things on the menu, but man, they rock it. I got the thai curry ramen. It came out fast, and WOW. it was fabulous. Explododing with flavor, good heat, and filling. I saw an order of their crab rangoon come out too, it was the best I have ever seen. My only regret was that i did not have room to try it. Next time. I have no words but I'll figure out what to say...... The Food Is Delicious!!!! Can't tell you the last time I ate someplace and everything was delicious. My husband I were invited by another couple for date night. We had the sushi Philly roll, half rack of ribs, smoked Rangoon, and Thai curry ramen. We left NOTHING!!! My husband had 2 blueberry lemonades as well. He said: Delicious! I wish I had pictures. But we left nothing to show for it. My suggestion: Try any and everything! This place was absolutely amazing. The pork bao was phenomenal, especially the kimchi that came with it. That was one of the best kimchis I've ever had. The Rangoon's were a whole new experience and the hot sauce was an amazing addition to the traditional recipes out there. The Tonkotsu was out of this world. The broth alone was clearly well thought out. It reminded me of my childhood, when my Korean mother would make it. It brought back so many memories!! THE best ramen joint in the state of Ohio. No joke. They have only a few different ramens but all of them are unique and fantastic. They also have options where you can make your ramen vegetarian or vegan. The tacos and ramen combination is what makes this place really special. The JFC and the Shrimp taco are both incredible. Hands down one of the best meals that I've had in ages. If you've not been here yet, get off your @$$ and go now. The Rangoon was crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside. The menu says it's spicy, but it was not burn your insides hot. There was warmth for sure, but it was tolerable. The bao buns were so soft and fresh. The bbq pork belly filling was both crispy and tender. The fried chicken was covered in a kind of sweet chili sauce. I didn't get to try my husband's Thai curry ramen, but he thoroughly enjoyed every last bite of it. The Tonkotsu ramen was divine. This place was a hidden gem among a row of homes. Literally. We thought we were lost but glad we found it! Their Tonkotsu Ramen was delicious. I judge every ramen spot off their egg and Speakeasy's tea brined egg was fire! Their noodles were cooked perfectly and their pork belly was crispy but melted in your mouth. Delicious food and uniquely crafted recipes- but only when dining in. I was a frequent flyer at Speakeasy for quite some time, but have not returned for some months. I decided tonight to give it a go and pick up food, since only two of all of the bartenders give great customer service without a condescending and confrontational attitude. It goes without saying I do not prefer to dine in at this establishment any longer due to the customer service issues I seem to encounter as an individual and while I am with my wife. I ordered the Thai Curry Ramen and substituted shrimp with chicken, as well as the Shanghai Chicken Bao Bun. I was told the food would be ready in 15 minutes, and arrived to pick up my order in about 18-19 minutes. When I arrived I was greeted and told my order would be ready shortly. It took an additional 15 minutes of waiting for a pick up order to receive my food. The Thai Curry broth is luke warm, the chicken to go with it has lost all of its heat. The Chicken Bao bun is the only warm item- because they prepared each item at a different time and took the longest on the Bao bun, which in my experience takes less than 5 minutes to put together. The Bao Bun itself is a soggy mess, the chicken having slid completely out of place despite a short 8 minute drive back home with few turns and no bumps. So far, the only good impression is the neatly sorted ingredients of my Thai Curry bowl- at this rate I expected them tossed like a salad. Extremely disappointed is an understatement, this is far from what used to be their quality. read more

This restaurant is definitely worth trying. The service was great and very accommodating. They did keep forgetting to bring water refills while we were there though. But it was busy when we went so no big deal. I got the Szechuan noodles with oil on the side and I think I would've liked it without the aonori. It gave it a taste that I was not fond of and overpowered the ramen. I added pork belly for $4 and while expensive for an upcharge imo, it made the dish more worth it. I loved the ribs though. They have a good crunch and flavor and would be a great meal with just rice and veggies. The crab rangoon were good but not worth it for the price in my opinion. Cant even really tell that its shrimp not crab. We ate outdoors next to a heat lamp and were pretty comfortable. Might come back to try sushi sometime. read more
