Good, even great company to have maintain your pool IF you are present and able to check their work each week. If you travel for work or live in another city, it's probably best to go with someone else. Long story short, I placed a cheap plastic cover over the top to make their job easier and keep the trees from shedding massive amounts of junk into the pool during the off-season. Unfortunately for me, the service agreement I signed 10 months prior stated that the company will not touch the pool of a cover of any kind was on. So yes, very much my fault for not having the agreement printed and on hand to review regularly. While being out of the city for the best part of the last few months, I trusted if there were any issues or concerns that our technician had they would call and let us know. Especially a local business with a decent reputation. I was wrong. Instead of reminding me that the service agreement I signed a year prior required removal of the cover to keep the pump from blowing out due to debris building up in the pool - they instead allowed the cleaner to be blocked for multiple visits and only then called to tell me the pump blew and to quote me a price to replace it. When I called back to cancel the service until my new pool was built, I asked the guy on the phone why the buildup was allowed to occur without just calling and leaving me a voicemail to remind me of the cover - he went into a minute long rant about their service agreement and how for 15 years they've had the cover clause in there (why that's relevant to me I'm not sure, I've only been a customer for 1 year). I politely asked why the field tech couldn't just wave me down on the days he saw me or knock on the door to give me a heads up - again he went on talking about the service agreement. Fair enough. I would have just appreciated the same effort to call about the cover as the company had when calling to quote me on a $3500 job to replace the blown pump. Again, totally my fault for not refreshing myself on the service agreement regularly and the pool maintenance was great when I was in town full time, but I can't help but be left with a bad taste in my mouth after the phone interaction and sales strategy on a problem that could've been avoided with some attempt at cooperation. I have a pool 4x the size being built at the moment and will have to more thoroughly interview the companies on how they view working in cooperation with the customers vs. waiting to pounce on mistakes. read more

I have been using this company even prior to buying my house. They came out and Mike did the inspection. After the purchase, they repaired and installed the pump system and did the programming for me. They also maintain the chemicals, and once, when I had been working crazy hours, noticed my filter was dirty and washed it for me. Their prices are reasonable, and best yet, when I had another company come out and do an estimate for a project Sparkle doesn't do, they had nothing but good things to say about the work and reputation of Sparkle & Splash. I have had issues getting them to call back, and email responses could be improved, but I like and trust Mike and his crew. read more

Originally, we thought we would have to change our swimming pool pump for around $1,800.00. Josiah, (Senior Field Service Technician) from Sparkle And Splash determined he only had to replace the capacitor, which was a significant savings! However, he did caution us, it may not last very long and at the next failure point we should change out the pump. Their response to my call was timely and billed as advertised. This company is quite the joke!! Most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. We have had a pool cover on our pool for a number of years. Sparkle and Splash won't service your pool with it on because of safety reasons, ok that's fine so we have to pull our cover off each night before the service date. We have never had an issue with our pool cover for a number of years. The one time I folded it up and put it on the side of the house, it conveniently disappeared. My wife called the main office to ask if they could ask the tech when is the last time he seen it so we could pin point what day it went missing and immediately was told well we didn't take it and was defensive regarding the issue we were told well it probably blew away, (well we have a veiw fence and desert area behind us it would be pretty obvious if it blew over our fence as we could clearly see a blue cover of this size, sorry try again) So Rene told my wife, well we have an extra pool cover brand new still in the box we will bring it over but we are by no means admitting guilt on the issue. My wife had said oh wow that's a nice gesture thanks I'm not saying your staff took it we are just trying to figure out what has happened to it, but if you have an extra cover that is nice and sure we will take it. So the tech shows up without the cover on his next visit. My wife then calls Rene back and says hey that cover you offered, the tech didn't bring it and Rene then proceeded to tell my wife oh never mind it's not new it's damaged old falling apart. Complete incompetence if this staff has no idea what they have in there office let alone offering a customer something before knowing what they have. So again my wife's question was still unanswered as she was trying to ask when the tech last seen our pool cover. She was told to call the main office and speak to Amy Marchione regarding the issue. My wife then called and discussed this with Amy and basically was told well if your going to blame my tech then we need to part ways now with our service as we are trying to run a business. Again my wife told Amy I'm not blaming your tech I simply want you to ask him when is the last time you seen the cover. My wife then gets an email the next day from Amy, (attached) we are canceling our service. In Amy's words attached this is the customer service you will receive if you so choose these clowns as your pool service company. On another note, these guys are a complete rip off escalating their cost to $200 a month in June 2022. $200 a month and they are at your house for no more than 15 minutes each service date. I contacted this company when I needed my pool pump electrical fixed. They were prompt, respnonsive, gave a good price, and replaced the electrical within days. I can now control it with my phone! I can finally control the pool light too. They also helped me get the pool heater fixed. I even had them install a controller for my fountain so I can turn on the refill, turn on the pump, and turn on the light each separately using a remote. It's really cool. It was so nice to finally have someone understand what I wanted and to do a competent job! I call them now for everything pool and fountain related and have never been disappointed. This first part was my review after just getting started with the company, ***scroll to the bottom to read how this has actually turned out.*** BEFORE: We had Bluepoint pool service install a salt water pool for us in 2016, and went with them for monthly service since they said they also maintain them. They did a horrible job and we finally let them go. We just started with this company (after seeing their truck parked at a home on a nearby street), and **we are blown away!** They clearly know waaay more about what they're doing than Bluepoint: they diagnosed an issue that was caused by Bluepoint's poor service and are working with us to fix it, personally called the company that manufactures our saltwater pool equipment in order to get us a free warranty replacement for a damaged part, and told us some things about maintenance of other parts that was supposed to be done once a year - but Bluepoint didn't do it and never told us it had to be done. We are extremely happy to start paying them once a month to help maintain our pool in excellent condition. AFTER: The scope and quality of the service they agreed to perform has turned out to be very erratic, and when we have contacted the company to talk to someone about the problems we are having, they have NEVER called us back. We are *extremely* disappointed. We were going to give their name to whoever ends up buying our house, but at this point it will only be to tell them to steer clear of this company. POSTSCRIPT: After posting this I messaged our complaints to them on Facebook, and my husband received a call back almost immediately. The work of the person who came to clean the next time was checked afterward and it was found lacking, so they were instructed on how to do better. A problem was found that the supervising person said they could treat, and we were supposed to get a call to arrange it. This was 5 days ago and we have yet to receive a call. Honestly, we are not divas, we just expect what we feel is basic, decent customer service, meaning that when they say they're going to call, they call. I've lowered my review from 2 stars to 1 star based on the owners response to my review. Paul absolutely knew that my home is a short term rental. However, it's a luxury vacation home that rents for over $1,000 per night. Sales guy, Paul, absolutely knew that this home is rented on VRBO. He did indeed quote $150 per month for pool maintenance and then they changed it to $330 per month. Also, "Paul" said if I paid the $1,700 deposit to get my pool sand blasted/cleaned that they would put me on the schedule the following week. After years of scale build up from Tucson's hard water we had Sparkle and Splash use their deionization process to clean our pool water and the remove the scale build up. It's basically a two stage process where the water is treated for several hours followed up by several hours of working on the scale. Charles and Andreas worked on the scale removal, which is somewhat of a messy process. Yet they took great care to cover our patio furniture, blow off the dust the process generated, and then washed down the pool area. They were really hard working with Andreas suited up with PPE while he worked in the pool. Charles patiently explained the process and answered our questions. Mike, the owner of Sparkle and Splash set up the deionization process and was a joy to work with as well. All in all we are very happy with the service and heartily recommend the process as a way to minimize water consumption when pool chemistry gets out of whack. read more

Very poor service. We used them for our weekly pool service and found they only spend maybe 10 minutes servicing our pool and they did not do what they promised per their agreement. Never cleaned the pool tile or check the pump suction. Depending on who showed up each week, the person did not seems to understand how a pool pump and water circulation is suppose to work. We finally cancelled our service. I recommend looking else for your pool service. read more

I was quite disappointed in the follow-through with their service. I called to have a fountain drained and made good for storage. I asked that they also give me a "lesson" on how the fountain works. I paid my $200 deposit and expected a phone call for an appointment. I finally reached out to them to see when the appointment was so that I could be there to learn. I was told, "that service was completed yesterday." When I inquired about the lesson that was promised..... I got an email receipt for the second $200 to fulfill my end of the agreement. I am still waiting to hear about the lesson I was promised....... The fountain was dry and cleaned out. They never shut the water off rather just tied the float up with wire and ran it under a rock hoping it would stay??? I will be glad to update this to 5 stars if I get my lesson.... :( read more

Recently determined that our pool service was sub-par, and went looking for recommendations on Next Door. Several folks suggested Sparkle and Splash, and so I called them and asked for a visit to discuss my pool, some maintenance work that was needed, equipment upgrades, and ongoing service. Their service manager Jacob visited my home, took a careful look at everything, quickly diagnosed a programming problem with my Pentair pump, and suggested a few maintenance options that would address some problems we had. From the get-go it was apparent that he is expert in pool systems, water chemistry, and the equipment we owned. We spent the next week refining the scope of work, resulting in a conversion to a salt water sanitation system, a retrofit to my popup valve system to address some problems, and some changes in the pump programming and the interface to the rooftop solar system to make the cleaning and the heating of the pool more effective. Once that was all set, his team came out, drained and cleaned our pool, installed the new equipment, quickly refilled it and got the water balanced and adjusted, and did the other installation and maintenance work we had discussed. We were swimming by the following weekend, and he came out again on Saturday to make one final adjustment to the salt and chlorine levels to get it perfect. Today was our first visit from the folks that will do the weekly maintenance and I received an email reporting everything they did, a water and equipment condition report, and notes. Short and sweet, I can't imagine how any of this could have been improved. The pool is in great shape, a few equipment issues I had are resolved, everything is working perfectly and I feel very comfortable and confident that it will stay that way. It's been an outstanding experience, and I highly recommend these folks. Very happy we made the change. read more

I recently called Sparkle and Splash when a packrat chewed some pool equipment wiring. They were recommended by a neighbor pool owner. The service tech came out the next morning and determined there was an actuator failure. He made temporary repairs and started sourcing a new part. A couple days later another tech returned to complete the repairs. He fixed the chewed wiring and did what he could to eliminate wires from future rat damage. The best service I did not expect followed. I have had an Intellichem unit on my pool for over three years. At least three other companies have attempted to get it to operate correctly without success. This included manufacturer reps. Jacob was able to adjust the settings and it now works as it should have. He also checked my chemicals and recommended adding some stabilizer. He was the first pool tech I have had in four years who checked my chemicals before leaving. They will have all my future business based upon the recent experience. read more

We have had Sparkle & Splash for the 3.5 years since we moved to AZ. Owner Michael came personally when we 1st called after finding their card in the pool control box....Our Home had been empty for 7 months and the service was discontinued by the estate of the seller for 3 months between our purchase and our occupancy. Needless to say it was a little murky and did not look like the clean water pool that we had purchased. No service for 3 months. When we called Sparkle & Splash we learned that Michael had serviced the pool since it was built and came personally on their 1st visit. He informed us of many of the valves, etc. and was amazing since this was our 1st home with a pool. He went above and beyond our expectations. They have kept our pool in tip/top wonderful condition since we 1st called. They helped us use our Home Warranty to replace some outdated and failing equipment and have always been expedient when we needed new pool light or a float repaired. We were so excited to work with Sparkle and Splash when they sold us on the fact that they had the best customer service and would keep the calcium build-up down on our cobalt blue pool tiles. The first time we called and gave constructive feedback to the owner in regard to the maintenance of our pool, he turned things around on us and blamed us for not taking proper care of our pool. Then, when we had to call again in regard to a leak that had not been properly addressed by our pool tech and we had to take care of our selves, once again, as the customer, we are now again in the wrong and have been fired as clients and have been left in the lurch to in regard to the maintenance of our pool and need to find a new pool company immediately.
