We had a really great experience with 1st Choice Pools. We got a total of 4 quotes, we ultimately chose them because they had an answer for all of our questions, seemed very knowledgeable, and didn't try and rip us off. They are also a small business. For our design, we wanted a simple rectangle with a Baja step and umbrella holder, and later adjusted to add a waterfall. They were so helpful every step of the way. I was nervous about the pavers and turf in my yard getting ruined, but they did a wonderful job protecting it all as best as they could. Their timeline was also very realistic, they showed up when they said they would, and all of their contractors were friendly. I really have to credit Tim, the project manager, he set the expectation and explained what the yard would look like in the interim, the timeline, and how everything goes. I'm noticing some of the reviews are mentioning a mess or trash but it's a construction zone, so expectations are really everything here. When all was said and done, my yard was clean and put back. The office manager, Estrella, is wonderful. She was so responsive and helpful whenever I had questions. They also walked me through financing, which I had never done before, they provided information and helped to point me in the direction of who they've found to be the easiest to work with. Overall, they did an outstanding job and I am so beyond happy with our pool and the job they did, it's perfect! read more

1st Choice Pools Building & Design - Pool & Hot Tub Service Near Me - Tucson, Arizona

A family member hired this company to build their pool. Seemed okay until some major issues starting popping up about 14 months after the build. I tried to help this family member navigate the service and warranty process and was met with a total lack of empathy and disregard for contractual warranties. Now she's left paying for parts failures, electrical problems and other issues, less than 18 months after a top of the line pool build. Given how many builders there are in Tucson, I'd recommend working with a more reputable company. read more

After meeting with 4 different pool companies on site, we are so pleased we settled on 1st Choice Pools. From the very beginning, the guidance, service, timely communications and commitment to their work was 2nd to none. Seriously. After meeting with the owner Daniel, his confidence and knowledge were undeniable. Contract signed, began working with Devin that week, lots of patience and advice getting us to an executable CAD drawing. Not pushy, really felt valued, Devin listened to our concerns / preferences and got us to a simple and geometric design we loved. The build went wonderfully, from excavation to pool fill - the program management and critical path was on point. In additional to the pool, we included two cement pours outside the coping to support a future grill and lounge area - fantastic workmanship. This review is about 10 months late, I share that because we recently had a minor issue - and without question, 1st choice returned and made it right without hesitation. Finally, a tip of the hat and the biggest thank you I can render to Estrella. Estrella was the front office interface, she was always 100% positive and professional. Her email / phone call response time was seconds not minutes and that is not an exaggeration. Responding to my questions on schedule, material inquiries, adjustments - Estrella was the liaison that brought it all together. Thank you, Daniel, Estrella, Devin and the overall 1st Choice Pools team - we are thrilled with the pool and will continue to highly recommend you to other future pool owners. read more

The worst pool company ever. Customer service is something they have never known. It took a year to finish my pool. Don't use their services

I am very happy with my pool resurfacing, recently completed by 1st Choice Pools! From initial contact with Dan, to various crews headed by Damian, Israel, Raoul, and others whose names I apologize for forgetting, plus the periodic updates on work timelines provided by Estrella, the office manager, the renovation was smooth and stress-free! Estrella and the whole staff have been very friendly, professional, and reliable. Even in the summer heat, no problems arose. I strongly recommend 1st Choice Pools as a family-owned, customer-focused business! Keep up the good, quality work!! --Bob G. Oro Valley, Arizona June 17, 2024 read more

I have used 1st Choice for at least 5 years now. I couldn't be happier with their service. I have had other pool service providers and none have compared to 1st Choice. I would highly recommend them and do whenever I am asked read more

First Choice should be your last choice! We had issues from start to finish and can't even get parts replaced because they didn't order them in time. There have been so many problems it's hard to remember them all but they chipped out the pool and replaced it with mini pebble which had to be entirely redone because there were areas that were smeared, they tried to start filling the pool on top of it and we turned off the water. The team frequently left garbage behind including dumping items in the wash behind our house and the side of our house, they gave us a filthy "new" chlorine tab holder, we were told the components would be replaced and they did not order any so now it's too late since the pool is done and filled. We are told they don't make them anymore but could have been changed during the process. They left the pool light dirty and replaced it in the pool and was not initially working. The filter was leaking and they just left it, they also did not leave the warranty or any information about the new filter. They replaced the ladder and left the old one behind; they were supposed to haul it away. We were told we would get a new creepy crawler; they didn't order it until I asked. Nobody did a final walk through. I'm telling you there were multiple issues and I regret using this company. read more

When premier pools took all my money and left me with an unfinished hole in the ground Daniel the owner stepped up and assisted me! He is very responsive to all my questions. Gave me a fair price to finish my pool. And he walked me though getting the building permit in my name and then his employees were here nearly daily and finished my pool and we get to swim this summer! Thank you First choice Pools! read more

I am an out of state property owner who has used 1st Choice Pool Service for over 10 years. My pool tech called me last week to tell me that my entire filter needs to be replaced at a cost of $2000. He had taken it all apart and shared that he was waiting on my decision (and he left). When I asked if he would put it back together until I could make a decision, he refused, saying "there's no point because it's not doing the job". I called another pool company who not only reassembled the filter, but also gave me assurances that, while the grids are getting older, they are still function (translation: not at all broken/defective). This isn't the first time 1st Choice has left me hanging, but it IS the last. read more

We have been using 1st Choice Pool Service for a year and have been impressed with their service. Daniel and his crew are efficient and dependable. When I had a problem earlier this year he returned my email promptly and worked with me until we found a solution for a creepy crawler that sounded like a mountain lion. I highly recommend Daniel and 1st Choice. read more

I have been using 1st Choice Pool Service for over a year and they have taken care of all our pool needs from relining, cleaning and pump repair. Thank you very much for your attention to detail. read more

First Choice Pool Service has been servicing our pool for almost six years. Danny Campos is very responsive and courteous. His guys, especially Manny, always do a great job in keeping our pool looking fabulous. I had them switch from a single-speed pump to a variable speed pump. I also had them replace the cartridge filtration with a sand filtration system. Reasonably priced and conscientious and reliable service. read more

This guy does not do all he says he will if he thinks you are not home. Have viewed him several times trying to look into my home to see if anyone is home and then quickly picks up a few leaves, empties the baskets and then takes off. This approach to business is second only to highway robbery. Repairs he did on my pool look like they were done by a 10 year old. Skip this guy. read more

Daniel's been keeping our pool and spa lookin rockstar status for almost a year now- oh and HE DOES return calls promptly.

I highly recommend 1st Choice Pool Service for pool equipment replacement and repairs. Over the last year, Daniel has completely replaced my pool pump and sand, responded to my questions about my system at no charge, and replaced a valve in piping. Each time, Daniel is responsive, professional, leaves a spotless work environment, and offers to train me how to use the equipment since I maintain the pool on my own. read more

Daniel cuts corners and I do not believe he does what he is paid to do. He tries to do as little as possible and it shows in the quality of my pool. When I complain, miraculously the next day my pool is great. Daniel doesn't communicate well at all, doesn't return calls or e-mails promptly. I just fired him TODAY!! I haven't been able to use my pool for almost 3 weeks. read more

I called to get a quote and Daniel was so extremely rude to me that I will not be doing business with this company. I asked why the price would be different with a community pool and he got angry and hung up on me. Don't do business with someone who won't answer politely asked questions that are only trying to gather information. People who are honest won't get angry with inquiry based questions. read more

I found 1st Choice through Angie's list and I have been happy with their service for over a year. The only negative comment I have it that when something happens and they can not come on the day they are due they do not call and tell me they aren't coming. read more
