I've used Space Movers twice. The first time, they were fantastic professional, efficient, and reasonably priced. They moved my one-bedroom apartment and living room set from Chestnut Hill to Hingham for $480, and I was very satisfied with the service. Unfortunately, my second experience was completely different. It was the exact same setup one bedroom and one living room set this time going from Hingham to Burlington. They originally quoted me $450-$500, but I was charged $1,100. I reached out because the timeframe listed was incorrect (they arrived late, but marked a different arrival time), and the upcharges were never discussed or justified. I've contacted them multiple times and haven't heard anything back. It's disappointing to see such inconsistency. Be cautious when hiring them what you're quoted may not reflect what you're actually charged. read more

Andrei and his crew were fantastic! My quick takeaway message is I would 100% use Space Moving again and recommend them. My first outreach was via Yelp messages and his office member Anna was very communicative and responsive. She answered all my questions and provided all the information I needed to make an informed decision. On moving day the crew arrived on time and were very professional. They got down to business and moved all the packed boxes out to the truck first, then proceeded to take apart some furniture, and then wrap up the furniture with moving blankets and plastic wrap. Once the crew completed we paid for half the amount of the total cost. Our move took us from Boston to Nashville. A cross country move is no easy feat. Andrei drove everything down to Nashville himself and hired a local mover to him him unload and assemble everything. Nothing was damaged or broken. Dissatisfied is not a strong enough word for how much I regret choosing this company. In the past, I've used Poseidon for moves and have been quite satisfied, but my move was on a holiday weekend and their rates were much higher so I took a chance on this small company. The first issue was the price for two movers is listed at $99/ hr online, they quoted me $106/ hour over the phone, and then when they showed up said it was $119/ hour. I needed my stuff moved so I didn't argue the increase in price even though it did raise a red flag. The moving process itself seemed okay at first. They definitely weren't as experienced as previous movers I've used and struggled with getting the furniture out of small openings leading to a lot of labor with deconstructing and rebuilding larger furniture. So I had to pay for extra hours because of that, but it didn't seem like them purposely trying to delay for more time, i think it was inexperience. The big issue came after they left and I returned to my old apartment to drop off the keys. They had put two large holes in the walls and didn't inform me at the time of causing the damage which suggests either the incompetence of they didn't notice or the unethical behavior of they chose not to tell me. I called and said they caused damage and Alex tried to initially say suggest it was small scratches (they aren't) that could be covered with paint. I texted photos of the damage and did not receive a response until I also sent an email in which he then called back and said he'll call my landlord and if she submits an invoice they'll cover the damage. I passed this information along to my landlord who did let them know how much the repair cost and never received a response. I sent an email between the three of us that included the invoice and called and did not receive an answer either. I called on my work phone which they did chose to take that call from this different number after the second ring and was suddenly told something different which was my landlord was supposed to send the invoice but not fix the damage and they would send someone out to also do an estimate and then pay the lower estimate between the two. Well given this conversation happened a week and a half after the move and they never responded to my landlord the repair already happened so he said his people would make the estimate off of the photos. I asked for a form to be able to file a claim with the company and he said they didn't have any since they're a small company. All of this sounded fishy so I called the Department of Consumer Affairs who confirmed the movers don't get to chose how they repairs happen and suggested I send a demand letter. It took Andrei, the manager, a week to respond to the letter and suddenly I was told a different story of an invoice is not sufficient, they need a contract copy of the service from the repair company and proof of payment. This seems like complete hypocrisy from a company that had me pay for the move to the manager's personal Zelle account and didn't have any official forms to fill out for handling the damage they caused. Following the advice from the Department of Consumer Affairs, the Attorney General's office, and Cambridge Consumers Council, I filed a complaint with the AGO. I also just consulted with a lawyer who recommended small claims court so I will be filing by the beginning of next week once it is past the 30 days given in the demand letter. I recommend using extreme caution if you decide to go with this company. I certainly wish I could go back in time and choose different movers. read more

Great moving option for smaller moves in the Cambridge / Boston area! Andrei and his team helped my wife and I move from Harvard Sq to Kendall Sq in August. They showed up on time and were professional movers who cared about our stuff (NB - we had all the furniture disassembled and things in boxes when they arrived). Only issue was that we had more stuff than we and they thought, so move took longer than anticipated and was a bit more than quoted. Used Space Moving this past weekend to move my furniture out of a 4th floor walk up apartment into a storage unit. The whole experience from the time I put in an inquiry and spoke with the manager Anna until the end of the move was very pleasant and worry free. Both Andrei's were prompt, courteous, thorough and fast. They did not waste any time and I am amazed as to how quickly they packed, loaded and unloaded the truck. The furnitures were secured very well with blankets and shrink wraps. My only recommendation would be for the company to maintain a list of items as they load and unload the truck to make sure they are accounting for all items as much as I am.
